A student at the École Beaux-arts de Versailles (1983–1985), and then at the École Nationale Supérieure d'Art de Bourges (1985-1988), French artist Valerie Belin obtained the French higher national diploma in visual expression in 1988 and also holds a diploma in advanced studies (DEA) in the philosophy of art from the Université de Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne (1989). Initially influenced by various minimalist and conceptual tendencies, Valérie became interested in the photographic medium in its own right; this is at once the subject of her work and her way of reflecting and creating. Light, matter and the “body” of things and beings in general, as well as their transformations and representations, constitute the terrain of her experiments and the world of her artistic ideas. Her work is articulated in photographic series, each one produced within the framework of a specific project. Valérie's work has been exhibited around the world and is held in numerous public and private collections. Winner of the Prix Pictet in 2015 (Disorder), she was made an officer of France's Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2017. This same year, a touring exhibition was co-produced by the Three Shadows Photography Art Center in Beijing, the SCôP in Shanghai and the Chengdu Museum. Héctor Gerónimo nos presta ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars' de David Bowie. Este es el quinto de los seis episodios que dedicaremos al disco ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars' de David Bowie, con el cantante y compositor Héctor Gerónimo como invitado. Como siempre, si no habéis escuchado los episodios anteriores os recomiendo que empecéis por ahí. Héctor Gerónimo es un cantante, compositor y ‘frontman' nacido en Buenos Aires y criado en Madrid. Forma parte de las bandas Moebio, con quienes ha publicado cuatro discos, y Monoplasma, para la cual se juntó con el guitarrista mexicano César “el Vampiro” López (ex-miembro de Maná, Jaguares y Azul Violeta). En 2018, tras un concierto con Monoplasma en el Lunario de la Ciudad de México, Héctor recibió una oferta que no pudo rechazar: encarnar a David Bowie en Changes, una banda de tributo internacional con la que acabó girando ampliamente por el país azteca. En ese mismo año, Héctor participó en un proyecto llamado Lo Mejor del Rock en Español junto a Kenny Avilés (Kenny y los Eléctricos), Jorge Guevara y Xava Drago, del cual salió un disco titulado ‘En directo desde Zacatecas'. Además de sus actuaciones en México, Héctor ha girado por EE UU, España, Costa Rica y Puerto Rico, y actualmente prepara su primer disco en solitario. Ex componente de la boy band One Direction, al igual que su homólogo de Take That, es el único que ha pervivido a la banda, pese a que todos los integrantes de las mismas han emprendido carreras en solitario estos dos intérpretes son los supervivientes del naufragio. Some Times cover. Gerry Cinnamon. Canción con un sonido vitalista que en realidad habla de que las cosas no siempre van bien. Cantautor conocido casi exclusivamente en su Escocia natal y posteriormente deslumbrando en Gran Bretaña, ha pasado completamente desapercibido por el terreno internacional. Tiene buenas canciones y sus letras son muy crudas. Lady Stardust cover: David Bowie. Ya escuchaste Zyggy Stardust no hace mucho en el programa. He querido ser equitativo y traer también a la esposa de este fenómeno de masas. Interpretado por Smile & Friends en un directo para una plataforma televisiva, Smile es un grupo de Getxo para muchos desconocido, aunque llevan en danza desde el 2005. You give me something cover: Jamiroquai. Anda que no me ha hecho mover el esqueleto este inglés, con sus toques funki-discotequeros que me recordaba al la música de los 70´s. Esta versión es lentita e interpretada por Aprile sólo con una guitarra eléctrica y su voz. Me parece un buen homenaje al amante de los Lamborgini.

Todo un clásico. Winter cover : Joshua Radin. Se acerca el invierno, pero con las temperaturas que estamos teniendo estos últimos años, será como una primavera con un pelín de frio, o eso espero. Elastic heart cover : Sia. Esta muchacha no tiene una canción mala. Muchos artistas de la canción se la rifan para que componga para ellos. En este caso canta a la aceptación de la traición con dignidad. Ziggy Stardust cover: Davis Bowie. Una canción de la primigenia época del Duque Blanco interpretado por una banda de chavales cuyo componente con más edad no llega a los 16 años. Pronto podrás escuchar una oda a Lady Stardust. Nothing´s gonna stop us now cover : Starship. Canción ochentera de la banda sonora de la película “Maniquí”. Todo un éxito en su momento, y que ha envejecido fatal. Si la ves no te pierdas los peinados y el look de ellos y ellas, seguramente habrás vestido igual.

Michael and Rae chat about his incredible journey of discovery and the process of developing a catalogue and his inspiration from Ray Charles and his ability to explore all genres of music as an artist and a songwriter. The critically acclaimed old-school crooner Michael Tinholme brings his stylings to his latest album Singled Out. Shifting between fantastic renditions of all-time greats and Tinholme originals standing shoulder to shoulder, the album transports listeners back to the time of jazz as a juggernaut, all the while making the most of contemporary production, stylings, and calibre of talent. Joining Michael are the aforementioned Mike Garson, jazz guitarist Mike Miller (Better Midler, Quincey Jones), the acclaimed drummer Gary Novak (Chick Corea, Natalie Cole), and legendary guitarist Steve Lukather (Toto, Michael Jackson's Thriller, Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney). Michael's path to the company of musical prestige was one hard tread. Adopted into a military family at only seven months old, Michael was constantly being relocated all the while suffering extensive abuse. Amongst the catharsis, the artist found solace in music. A perfect fit, Michael played his first professional show aged only twelve. While the journey there forth remained difficult, with spouts of foster care and homelessness, two threads remain constant from Michael's collaborators: his kindness and his passion. El podcast donde sólo se escucha música en formato de vinilo    Hoy tenemos una nueva entrega de las famosas sesiones ofrecidas por el disc-jockey y productor John Peel. Si en un anterior programa pudimos escuchar algunos de los grupos que aparecieron por la emisora en la década de los 60, hoy vamos a dedicarlo a la década de los 70. A pesar que el programa, como veréis al final del texto incluye muchas actuaciones, vamos a destacar la relación de gran amistad que John Peel y Marc Bolan mantuvieron al inicio de la carrera de este último. La relación de John Peel con Marc Bolan (T. Rex) La amistad de Marc con el disc-jockey John Peel se inició cuando nuestro artista le envió una copia de ‘Hippy Gumbo’. Peel no se cansó de pincharla en su Perfumed Garden Show en Radio Caroline, y poco tiempo después en Radio One. En efecto: el aprecio mutuo duró unos cuantos años como veremos más adelante. Pero ahora es Peel quien recuerda su primer encuentro con Bolan: “Un día de 1967, Marc y Steve (Peregrin Took) vinieron a mi apartamento, se sentaron en el suelo y comenzaron a cantar su repertorio.
