For 14 years, Lindsay Coulter was the Suzuki Foundation's “Queen of Green,” the creator of newsletters and blog posts for the Foundation under that name with a readership of tens of thousands. Through her unique blend of spirituality, evidence-based science, and practical action, Lindsay has helped educate a generation on the immediate, impactful ways they can come to terms with their feelings, fears, and goals for the environment and how to effect positive change at every scale.Lindsay comes to the JOMO(cast) to share her philosophical, spiritual, and practical lessons for how to take on stewardship for the Earth and our fellow humans, and find our own joy as we do so.Key Takeaways:We are all inseparably linked to nature and the consequences of each other's actions, whether we think about it or not.Effective environmental stewardship cannot occur without the presence of strong human connections and relationships.Realizing our interconnected nature gives us permission to be forgiving, patient, and kind- to ourselves and others. The most important element of being a leader of change is being accepting and loving of ourselves.Change and creating value begins with having courageous conversations within trusting human relationships. We cannot control the existence of negative things in the world, but we can control whether we add to them, and model this to others.Favorite Quotes:“How can we build more nature [into our lives]? You can't not do it. You breathe air every day. You eat food.”“Go out today and find something that elicits awe.”“I think you need to find more practices that help you realize this connection- that there's more than just you.”“When you're able to create more of a stable mind, the chances are you're more likely to do less harm, not just to nature but to yourself.”“You don't have to fix people, and you don't have to know all the answers.”“How can you not add any more confusion or aggression in the world?”Support:This podcast is made possible by you — our listeners all over the world — from Brazil to Australia, the USA to Singapore. Lindsay tells us how she found herself in photography (somewhere she never thought she’d be), some of the most inspiring people in her life, and even Roger (the bulldog!) gets a bit of spotlight. Lindsay is an Entrepreneur Extraordinaire, as Alan so eloquently deems her, and her life experience in fascinating. She is a person who takes things as they come, runs with the things she loves and that work, and let’s the failures be a stepping stone to the next ‘thing’. Always moving forward, always learning, and never losing sight of who you want to be. And we even get a sneak into what’s next for Lindsay Coulter! Listen in and you’re sure to leave feeling completely inspired! (And possibly wanting to buy Hawaiian shirts for your dog. Or…wanting to buy a dog to then buy Hawaiian shirts for.) Lindsay Coulter, photographer
Another fun episode featuring Mike Nowak from the Mike Nowak Radio Show. A wonderful Green Divas Eco-Style segment with Bianca Alexander about Authenticity, and a Green Divas Foodie-Phile with Lindsay Coulter, David Suzuki's Queen of Green about how to reduce food waste.
Don't freak out. Snakes have their purpose and most of them are actually harmless. Listen to David Suzuki's Queen of Green, Lindsay Coulter talk about how you can support healthy garden snakes in this Green Divas Heart Wildlife podcast.
Another great Green Divas Health & Beauty podcast featuring Lindsay Coulter, David Suzuki's Queen of Green on tips for being less polluted. Some simple ways to reduce our daily exposure to common toxins that can build up in our bodies. Yikes. Some of these might surprise you. Listen up.
Food waste is a huge problem and if we all did our best to reduce our personal household food waste, it would definitely help. Lindsay Coulter, Queen of Green for David Suzuki Foundation does a great Green Divas Foodie-Phile segment/podcast on tips to help us reduce food waste at home.
An extremely useful, but slightly funny conversation with the Queen of Green, Lindsay Coulter from the David Suzuki Foundation about what you probably do not want to flush down the toilet and why . . .
An interesting show with a eclectic mix of topics, including a fascinating interview with filmmaker, Mark Terry. Other great segments include a Green Divas Eco-Sexy with Brigitte Mars on herbs to enhance sexual vitality; a funny, but important Green Divas at Home segment with Lindsay Coulter on what you should NOT flush down the toilet; Green Diva Ali shares a great 'to-do' list for July gardening; and of course always an excellent Green Divas myEARTH360 report from GD Lynn Hasselberger. And you'll want to hear GD Lynn talking about her recent trip to Ford . . .
A great way to support family or friends that may be struggling with illness, new baby or some type of challenge, is to create a food circle, which encourages other folks in the community to help by making meals. Great podcast with the Queen of Green, Lindsay Coulter from the David Suzuki Foundation.
