As every year, "XtraChill" celebrates its birthday on May, 15th - 2025 for the 19th time! Andreas is therefore celebrating the anniversary with an extended playlist of ten podsafen electronica tracks, eight of which will be compiled into two four-packs. And each four-pack has a very special focus: there are various musical newcomers to discover, new and resurrected netlabels and a short journey back to the early days of this podcast with a visitor from the founding year 2006. Celebrate with us and enjoy this 438th episode, which is a little different than usual!

But the wiser participants in the scene, including DJ Seinfeld and Ross From Friends, got out early and almost without exception carved out successful careers for themselves.Baltra, a Philly native who got into music after a move to NYC, epitomised that trend. His 2019 album Ted - a tribute to to his late father - was a step outside of the parameters of the scene that had got him noticed, and since then he's established himself as a fixture on the global DJ circuit and one of house music's most interesting producers. We discuss all of that, plus his previous, slightly inauspicious career on Wall Street and his experience working in the sector during the biggest crisis in the industry since the 1929 crash.Get involved!--If you're into what we're doing here on the pod then you can support the show on Patreon!

In S5Ep3 of the PRP, Adam breaks bread with emerging marathon powerhouse, visionary pixel virtuoso, proud professorial papa bear and straight up Boston-bound baller Malik Jordan, who has been preparing to represent the Detroit running community at the 129th Boston Marathon on Monday April 21st, 2025. Asia Rawls, distinguished community cultivator, established culture missionary and founder of Machine Athletics returns to the show to offer her perspective on the power of mentorship, the art of internal investment, and the ongoing machine-building process of body, mind and spirit.Malik and Coach Asia regale the PRP listenership with a vibrant discussion around how running can shift from a test of speed to a tool for self-expression and healing. Once a part of his past, running has now become a powerful force in Malik's present - reshaping his mindset, unlocking creative clarity, and cultivating a greater sense of purpose both on and off the pavement. Together, the trio digs into the nuances of the transfer of positive energy, the spiritual nature of the long run, and the importance of protecting your focus and your personal relationship with the sport - especially when you're juggling passion, pressure, parenthood, and a growing list of people looking up to you.Things get vulnerable when Coach schools the lads on the art of internal investment, reflecting on how the sacred bond between coach and athlete can unlock deeper layers of self-reflection and growth. From picking the right race, to training in a sustainable way, to finding the right mindset, tune in to learn why Machine Athletics always starts by understanding the runner before ever understanding the run.Wait wait wait, we got Coach Oprah in the house?! What exactly does it take to become a certified Machine?? Stairway sufferfests?? Who's grabbing who by the ear?! Lofi love?? Did someone say long-run euphoria? Recess hit lists?!?! Babies, Boston & Big Bam oh my!This and so much more in a heartfelt, energizing, and perspective shifting edition of the PRP!SponsorsUp & Running PerformanceAnn Arbor Running CompanyRecorded Wednesday April 16th @ 6:30PM EST

On May Day 2025, dear Andreas will once again take his esteemed listeners on a journey into the world of podsafe music. The focus is once again on a four-track set "with depth," illuminating the various facets of deep electronica. But the start of the merry month has much more to offer, such as some exciting reunions with well-known artists – as well as a very special "XL bouncer" that seems to defy all classification. Highly exciting – presented in a relaxed manner! Enjoy!
This week, we will be celebrating Revolutions Per Movie's Pavement Week with episodes that are Pavement to the max. For today's episode (#2 of 5), we present an encore airing of our discussion with the director & producers of the amazing Gary Young/Pavement documentary ‘LOUDER THAN YOU THINK,' which is one of the best music documentaries I have seen in recent years and also one of the most enlightening about Pavement. We discuss how surprisingly open the members of Pavement were to discussing Gary, Gary's legendary home studio where he played drums and recorded Pavement's early records, the incredible marionettes that were built specifically for the film, what it was like for Brian to be in bands with Gary in the early 80s, the surprise explosion of Pavement's success, Gary's love of Prog rock and superstardom, the night Gary served mashed potatoes out of wheelbarrows to audience members, Malkmus's PTSD from working with Gary, the age differences in the band, the battle between lo-fi and professional goals, Gary's origin story from NY to CA, guitarist Spiral Stairs finding a box of unknown VHS tapes from their first Pavement tour, Rollerball, the blam-o-meter, Gary's wife Geri, the trauma of him leaving the band after overstepping his role, Gary's band Hospital, Beavis and Butthead, Gary's serious advice column in a Japanese magazine, Gary's struggle with addiction, the Watery, Domestic EP, Gary's reaction to the film & the time he disrupted his own film premiere by heckling the documentary. So let's do collective handstands while the band plays onwards as we celebrate PAVEMENT WEEK on Revolutions Per Movie!STREAM LOUDER THAN YOU THINK HERE:https://www.factorytwentyfive.com/louder-than-you-thinkREVOLUTIONS PER MOVIE:Host Chris Slusarenko (Eyelids, Guided By Voices, owner of Clinton Street Video rental store) is joined by actors, musicians, comedians, writers & directors who each week pick out their favorite music documentary, musical, music-themed fiction film or music videos to discuss. Y estamos completamente encantados!!!!! "My wife and I traveled to Seville on my honeymoon and saw Flamenco. I even created field recordings of Flamenco while there. But I never did anything with the recording, though I've thought about it quite often. When it showed up on the list of possible sounds to remix for Sonic Heritage, it felt like that sound chose me. "Musically my goal was to keep the essence of the original piece intact while using a more traditional LoFi song structure. But rather than modernize the tune and strip away the history in the art form, I tried used atmospherics and subtle instrumentation to enhance the otherworldliness of the live sound captured by Stuart in the original recording." Today's guest is a sort of pioneer in Australian winemaking; his focus on lofi production methods and non-traditional flavors has helped redefine what consumers expect from the land down under. Uffe Deichmann is a Dutch-born winemaker who found love at a music festival in Australia and never looked back — his winery, Poppelvej wines, now produces bottlings that are standard on some of the more groundbreaking menus across the U.S. In this episode we dive deep into the history of the winery, Uffe's own journey through winemaking, the philosophy that underlies the incredible wine they are producing, and even touch on the topic of native bird species. From underground bunkers to stolen street signs, this conversation has it all.RELATED LINKS:Check out the Blister Craft CollectiveBecome a BLISTER+ MemberPoppelvej WineryPoppelvej Instagramhttps://vsimports.com/australia/poppelvej/TOPICS & TIMES:Current Wine Making (2:33)Origins of Poppelvej (5:49)Finding Australia (15:04)Fruit Selection/Picking Process (21:01)Lofi Wine (23:49)Music's Influence on Poppelvej (31:44)Poppelvejs Growth and Expansion (35:19)The Wine Making Process (41:36)Australian Terrior (52:39)Wine's Generational Crises (58:30)Flavor Exploration (1:04:06)The Hand Painted Sign (1:07:56)SEE OUR OTHER PODCASTS:Blister CinematicBikes & Big IdeasGEAR:30Blister Podcast Hosted on Acast. This week we are joined by the director and producers of the amazing Gary Young/Pavement documentary ‘LOUDER THAN YOU THINK,' one of the best music documentaries I have seen in recent years and also one of the most enlightening about Pavement. So let's do collective handstands while the band plays onwards...on this week's episode of Revolutions Per Movie!STREAM LOUDER THAN YOU THINK HERE:https://www.factorytwentyfive.com/louder-than-you-thinkREVOLUTIONS PER MOVIE:Host Chris Slusarenko (Eyelids, Guided By Voices, owner of Clinton Street Video rental store) is joined by actors, musicians, comedians, writers & directors who each week pick out their favorite music documentary, musical, music-themed fiction film or music videos to discuss.
