Today I'm joined by co-host Amy Currie and our special guest Christine D'Ercole (Instagram) is a writer, public speaker, decorated competitive cyclist, Peloton instructor, and founder of Wordshop™, a workshop in self-talk. Through storytelling and interactive journaling, Christine provides practical and powerful tools for navigating the terrain of deprecatory self-talk to change the way we think about who we are and who we are capable of being. Christine D'Ercole is a legendary competitive cyclist, compelling public speaker, and fan-favorite Peloton instructor. That's in part because of her intense and often New Wave and Goth-playlisted classes, but also because she loves to cook and savor incredible meals, and share frank talk about complicated emotions around bodies and aging and exercise. She joined Tinfoil Swans for an intimate and uplifting conversation about body image, life-changing restaurant meals, her wild career as a bike messenger, learning to cook, and what meal she'd make for her favorite musician. *This episode originally dropped on January 3, 2024*As we roll into a brand new year filled with goals and aspirations, this week's guest, fan-favorite Peloton Cycling instructor Christine D'Ercole would like to remind us that we are bigger than a smaller pair of pants, and the most powerful thing anyone can say to us is what we say to ourselves, and we have agency in that conversation. Now 52, Christine has started using her enormous platform to share her experiences with the menopause transition and to defy and rewrite the story that we've been told about what menopause means when it comes to what we're capable of and how we see ourselves. When she's not putting power into her pedals, she's helping women empower themselves by changing their self talk and helps guide them with her signature mantra: I Am I Can I Will I Do. We cover Christine's menopause experience, her body image battles, and how she uses self talk in her own life and you can too. You can learn more about her and her work at christinedercole.com.Christine D'Ercole is a speaker, writer, decorated competitive cyclist, and original Peloton Cycling Instructor who inspires thousands daily with her work on and off the bike. Ihr seid bei "On the Way to New Work" – heute mit Marie-Christine Döscher.

Do you feel that your fitness is not successful unless you are dripping sweat at the end of a work out, numb from head to toe, and searching for where your soul has escaped to? Does life have to be like this with cardio and a good fitness program? Isn't everything really cardio in the first place? What is the difference between your want and your need for cardio? This week, Susan decided to go to the "popular" isle in the wine store and "grab and go". We wanted to taste a wine that many of you will see when shopping, may UNDERSTAND to be good without ever tasting it, and will want to buy because you THINK it is probably pretty good. But is it? This week, we will taste Decoy Red Blend from California: 58% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Malbec, 7% Petite Verdot, and 6% Zinfandel. Will this wine deliver? When you know you can be doing better, when certain things are really good, other things suck, you recognize the work that should be done, life responsibilities, should I go on?We all get there, some of us may be there right now - the stress beast will attack all of us, and we will respond...well, how will we respond? We talk it through, and come up with ideas on how to be SUCCESSFUL with our bodies, our minds, and hopefully the outcome of the exciting travel that will enrich our lives in so many ways. Don't let it be a negative - we got you! This week Susan throws the dice, and asks a lovely wine manager to pick out his "favorite of the day" for the ladies to taste. This wine is from Altentejo Portugal; this is an area from south central Portugal, and funny, a place very similar to California. A lot of sun, even hot temperatures, modern wineries, careful wood aging - sounds like a great wine, right? Well...listen to what the ladies think! This wine is a blend of Syrah Trincadeira, Alicante Bouchet and Aragon - also known as Tempranillo - a wine of many names...sorry Christine!More about Guarda Rios Red Blend from Alentejo, Portugal:https://wayne.bottleking.com/wines/Guarda-Rios-Red-Blend-w13962289qFind Christine D'Angelo:Instagram: @christine_dangelo_ Facebook: @Christine Casiero D'AngeloSet yourself up with Christine D"Angelo as a COACH on the 1st Phorm App! https://www.1stphorm.app/StineD***JOIN Christine's Facebook Page "Team Shine Fitness": https://www.facebook.com/groups/teamstinefitness/Find Susan Pajak:Instagram: @winegirlgonewildFacebook: @Susan PajakTwitter: @spajakPersonal Blog: winegirlgonewild.comhttps://winegirlgonewild.comCome for a chat, stay for a sip, and leave us a comment!

It's hard to impossible to be physically healthy when you hate your body. Media, trauma, disease, pregnancies, abuse, ageing, bullying - how a person perceives her appearance and feels in his body directly impacts his or her physical health. What is the truth about your body? "The human body shares in the dignity of "the image of God": it is a human body precisely because it is animated by a spiritual soul, and it is the whole human person that is intended to become, in the body of Christ, a temple of the Spirit . . . For this reason man may not despise his bodily life. Rather he is obliged to regard his body as good and to hold it in honour since God has created it and will raise it up on the last day" (CCC 364-365).
