"The man who embraces his mediocre nothingness shines greater than any." - Keanu Reeves 2019's "Always Be My Maybe" is a cute romantic comedy, but it's also a look at an alternate version of Randall Park as a chill San Francisco rapper. We'll talk about the real influences on Hello Peril, the group at the center of this movie, as well as some other Bay Area artists that we believe fed into the vibe. Plus, a bit on the heavy-hitters like Dan the Automator and Lyrics Born who lent real-life credibility to the music in this film.

Bay Area, 一度被称为 “the land of pimps and Panthers”. Bay Area hip-hop is “the product of pimps and hustlers just as much as activists and intellectuals”. Ear to the Street”(1993), “Gamers”(1996);诗人气质的 Mystic 在 Digital Underground 1998 年专辑“Who Got the Gravy?”中首次亮相,个人首张 “Cuts For Luck and Scars For Freedom” 发行于 2001 年,在其中真诚地剖析了很多深刻内容,让关于耻辱的话题在音乐中有表达的空间,制作人有 Zion I 的 Amp Live,Hieroglyphics 的 A-Plus, 以及 Shock G;街头狠大姐,有着 female player 气质的 Marvaless 和 Passion,推荐专辑: “Ghetto Blues”(1994) by Marvaless, “Baller's Lady”(1996) by Passion;1980s 末短暂出现的 Kimmie Fresh,敢于挑战当时代表男性皮条音乐的 Too Short,重写了女性视角的 “The Real Freaky Tales”,当然 Too Short 作为一名虚怀若谷有格局的老皮条客,与 Kimmie 也建立了友谊;90s-00s 时代的 Bay Area 地区还有很多女性 rapper 由于各种原因都没有留下作品,甚至在时代发展中销声匿迹毫无记录,只有在少数历史报道中我们会得知一些名字,但在本地社区中一直是受人尊敬的存在;Neo Soul 歌手 Goapele 的地下场景名作 “Even Closer”(2002)05. 影响极其深远的 Bay Area Underground Hip HopHieroglyphics 大家族出品质量稳定,尤其是 “3rd Eye Vision”(1998), “Full Circle”(2003) ,创始人 Del The Funky Homosapien 也是深受 P-Funk 影响的文化传承者,1991 年首张个人专辑 “I Wish My Brother George was Here”是明显的 P-Funk 致敬,其他作品另类气质独特也十分推荐:”Future Development”(1997), “Both Side of Brain”(1999);Del 与 Dan the Automator, DJ Kid Koala 的三人组合 Deltron 3030 同名专辑是一张制作与概念都水平很高的地下另类名作;Souls of Mischief 的 Hip Hop 历史教科书级别作品 “93 'til Infinity”,同名歌曲是 Bay Area 地下最具代表性的大名曲,它所传达的时代情绪和制作思路都令人叫绝;大家族中成员的个人作品都很推荐,Opio, A-Plus, Casual, Pep Love 没有难听的;来自 Sacramento 的 Blackalious 在我们之前的“Underground”话题单集中提到过,所属的团体 Quannum Projects 风格另类,元素丰富;06. Episode playlist:The Conscious Daughters - “Somethin To Ride To (Fonky Expedition)”Mystic - “Neptune's Jewels”Passion - “Where I'm From”Kimmie Fresh and The People - “The Real Freaky Tales The Girl Story”Marvaless - “Bring The Bomb”Del the Funky Homosapien - “Mistadobalina”Deltron 3030 - “Mastermind”Souls of Mischief - “93 'til Infinity”Hieroglyphics ft. Et c'est dans les loges de « la cinquième salle », que nous accueille un quinqua au visage adolescent qui n'a de cesse d'envisager la musique comme un jeu...Pour suivre Kid KoalaYouTube / Facebook / Instagram / XKid Koala en tournée Titres diffusésExtraits de l'album 12 bites Blues (Ninja Tune – 2012) : « 1 bit blues - 10,000 miles » ; « 2 bit Blues  » Extrait de l'album Creatures of the Late Afternoon (Envision Records – 2023) : « Things are gonna change » feat Lealani Extraits de l'album Somme of my best friends are djs (Ninja Tune - 2003) : « Shanky Panky » ; « Vacation Island »Extrait de l'album Floor Kids - Original Video Games Sound Track (Arts & Crafts - 2018) : « Five Spot Stomp »Et aussi :« Crazy in love » (Kid Koala version) par Emeli Sandé, extrait de la B.O. du film de Baz Luhrmann, The Great Gatsby (2013)« Strictly business » par EPMD (1988)Extraits de l'album Deltron 3030(2000) de Deltron 3030 : « Positive Contact » ; « 3030 » ; « St. Catherine St. »Extraits de l'album It takes a nation of millions to hold us back (1988) de Public Enemy : « Security of the first world » ; « Night of the living baseheads » ;  « Show'Em whatcha got » ; « Mind terrorist » « Terminator x to the edge of panic »« Its All Over » de The Slew Extraits de l'album Doing it to death (1973) des J.B.'s : « Introduction to the J.B.'s » ; « Doing it to death part.

Every Album Ever with Mike Mansour & Alex Volz

This week we're discussing the one and only album by Mike Patton's Peeping Tom. We all know Patton from Faith No More and Mr. Bungle (and his million other side projects, honestly), but Peeping Tom was the one time he tried mainstream pop music. On Episode 134, we're paying homage to one of the most innovated groups in hip-hop. The Ultramagnetic MC's were your favorite rap group's favorite rap group. In '88, Critical Beatdown joined It Takes A Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back and Straight Outta Compton as revolutionary albums that changed the landscape of hip-hop forever. Ultra's unconventional rhymes, mixed with their sinister production and style, created one of the most important sounds to come out of the Bronx.  On this episode, we not only take you musical journey featuring the Ultra's catalog, we'ved carved out a few mixes dedicated to the spectacular career of Kool Keith as well. We're covering Dr. Octagon, Cenobites, Sex Style, First Come, First Served, Black Elvis, Matthew, Pimp To Eat, Master of Illusions and all the other 500 albums he's released over the years.   We've got the the remixes, the features and collabos from Roc Marciano, Atmosphere, Czarface, MF DOOM, High & Mighty, Chino XL, Prince Paul, Kutmasta Kurt, TomC3 and Automator. From sales and estimating, to design, project management and even purchasing, Jay has seen every side of custom machine building and automation. Jays' passion for building things came early. What started as a hobby building things with his dad in the garage carried over to tech classes in high school, and finally solidifying during his university summer job at label application company. From there, his love of building things, especially unique things, spawned a 20+ year career. He's been a part of creating equipment for the food and pharmaceutical sectors, steel and automotive, and even crazy under water lift systems put into pools on cruise ships. Throughout this journey, Jay learned how important it is to ensure the concept and design is carried on throughout the manufacturing process. His experience with smaller companies, particularly using spreadsheets and knowledge locked away in peoples' brains instead of a proper unified system, gave Jay an inside look at the struggles many organizations face. He decided there had to be a better way; fortunately, he found it. After implementing a system in his last automation company that was specifically designed for custom machine builders, he loved and believed in it so much, it created a whole new adventure. Jay's new mission: help Automate the Automator and bring connected processes to machine builders of all sizes and around the world.

In this podcast, I talk about Propstream List Automator and if it's really worth buying. List Automator allows you to do list stacking for your real estate leads so you contact the highest quality leads first. Propstream is probably the number one real estate investing software in America at this point with so much robust data inside it. If you want to get a trial to Propstream check it out here, you won't regret it! http://trial.propstreampro.com/thewholesalecoach/ I recently made a podcast about REI Sift, another list stacking software to review it and I really liked it. However, Propstream just makes the process a lot simpler keeping everything in-house. You can add on List Automator to your Propstream account for only as little as $27 per month to monitor 2,000 properties. This should be sufficient for most people looking to actively track their data and save money. List stacking is one of the secrets of the wholesaling game. Not many people talk about it and if they aren't doing it you're at an advantage over your competition. Check out this video I made about list stacking to multiply profits here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3glC5BVBBE CHECK OUT THESE LINKS IF YOU NEED MORE HELP!
