Send us a textMissed opportunities can lead to some of the best stories, especially when they're shared with good friends and a sense of humor. When a planned trip to the AAA Baseball Championship fell through, our conversation turned to hilarious skiing mishaps and the rollercoaster of emotions felt by Arizona baseball fans as their season wrapped up. Joined by our special guests Paul Caputo of  Baseball by Design and Eric Profitt of the Earned Fun Average podcast, we navigated our way through the chaos of baseball playoffs. Our Las Vegas adventure didn't go as planned, with flight mishaps keeping some of us from the ballpark, but the unexpected twists made for unforgettable stories. From blackjack tables at Excalibur to hockey games at T-Mobile Arena, the spirit of friendship shone through. We savored nachos, cheered on ice hockey teams, and enjoyed arena giveaways. Val's knack for VIP setups ensured memorable encounters at minor league games, turning a night with the Omaha Storm Chasers into a whirlwind of fun, food, and even a winning bet.As the tales unfolded, we pondered the journey from Triple-A to the majors, questioned if it's truly an upgrade, especially within the Oakland A's organization, and marveled at the treats from Saint Honoré. With future plans on the horizon, it's clear that sports adventures and podcasting camaraderie are the winning combination. Tune in to hear about our Urban Media plans, anticipated trips, and the joy of catching up with old friends over shared laughs and countless stories. Welcome to Episode 975; New frontiers in wine marketing- anticipating the opportunities in nascent technologies Welcome to Wine2Wine Business Forum 2021 Series. The sessions are recorded and uploaded on Italian Wine Podcast. wine2wine is an international wine business forum, held annually in Verona Italy since 2014. The event is a key reference point for wine producers and a diverse variety of wine professionals eager to develop and grow their wine business worldwide. About today's session: Amazon has just released a robot that knows when to stay out of the bedroom. The government of Nicaragua has passed a law requiring businesses to accept bitcoin as legal tender. LVMH has acquired expensive land in a digital universe. Why? To build a shopping mall for the rapidly growing virtual fashion market. Hologram sommeliers and critics are braced to help the wine lover in store. Is your winery prepared for the future? The technology in our pockets has fragmented audiences forever. Tribes and influencers matter, but what counts more than ever is brand. Against a backdrop of fierce competition, changing consumer trends, and rapidly evolving platforms, brand and brand values still drive sales. Keeping those values at the forefront of the conversation will not be easy. Paul Caputo will present an overview of the imminent technology landscape and potential trends in order to provoke thought and discussion around maximising wine marketing opportunities. Despite a focus on how wineries might leverage these ideas, they are equally relevant to trade and press audiences More about the today's speaker: Paul Caputo IWA is a UK based wine writer, judge, critic and entrepreneur. He is a certified Italian Wine Ambassador of the VinItaly International Academy, and writes regularly for various publications. He previously ran an online wine merchant and successful pop up wine bar, located on Chester's historic rows. He works mainly in the wine space where he combines his passion for travel, technology, sustainability, and marketing. He works mainly in the wine space where he combines his passion for travel, technology, sustainability and marketing. His career started more than 10 years ago now, after spending some time tracing his family heritage all the way back to a small vineyard in Basilicata. Surrounded by Aglianico vines he spent three months living in a tiny village, absorbing the culture of the region, its people, its food and of course its wines. On returning to England he set about studying everything he could and found himself with a job in a brand new wine shop with big dreams. He began importing small quantities of wines from small, boutique growers all over the South of Italy. As his adventures continued he realised that his passions were shifting more towards communication - journalism and publishing. he was inspired to write and this overpowered his enthusiasm for building a retail business. And so, after a period of study, endless travel and a lot of reflection on how to share his knowledge and experiences, Paul created Vinorandum.com.
