I made it through a year of highs and lows in the City of Angels! So lets fire up the Aphex Twin (@aphex-twin-official) and contemplate how far we've all made it in the last 12. It's crazy to think in that time I've managed to live in Los Feliz, Venice Beach, Westwood, Koreatown and Silverlake (and everywhere in between and beyond, right?). Plus, I've done a wide assortment of gigs in the process -- background acting, videography, podcasting, fresh salad seller, fine dining server and more. We start with some clips from a Werner Herzog doc about crashing in the jungle. And I describe one particular post-club tableau, following an epic drum n' bass night with DJ Goldie at the helm (@metalheadz). Plus we'll take you with us down to a public #art show breathing new life into a concrete spaceship-looking sculpture that never really worked properly. The six-story, 60-ton Triforium by artist Joseph Young was supposed to exude synchronicity through 1,494 multi-coloured glass prisms. But symbolic of DTLA itself, its futuristic dreams came smack up against the challenges of reality. Великолепный прогрессив, благодаря мастерскому ремиксу известных музыкантов и ремиксеров Pole Folder и CP здоровски качает эфир прямо на его экваторе. Австралиец Matter сделал фантастический ремикс на трек Timelapse от продюсера из Индии Nakul Ambilkar, более известного на электронной сцене как SEQU3L. Его музыку выпускают такие лейблы как Movement Recordings, Juicebox Music, Beat Boutique, Balkan Connection и многие другие. Matter же придал треку особого шарма, в своем фирменном стиле сделав очень эмоциональный ремикс, который надолго задержится в ваших акустических системах. Слушать Timelapse лучше всего на хорошем звуке, ведь именно для этого он и создавался. Довести танцпол до состояния эйфории в самый peak-time - это нетривиальная задача на сегодня, а ремикс Matterа сделает это безотлагательно. Еще одно виниловое приобретение для меня - это уважаемый импринт Ли Бэрриджа All Day I Dream, пластинки которого я активно покупаю. На этот раз Lee Burridge совместно с Lost Desert и полюбившимся фанатам лейбла вокалистом Junior сотворили очередной шлягер 2018 года под названием Elongi. Все хорошо помнят успех пластинки Lingala, которую ребята записали таким же составом в 2016 году. Пластинку Lingala размели с прилавков магазинов слушатели и диск-жокеи за считанные недели и на сегодня пластинку уже не купить и я уверен, сегодняшнюю Elongi EP ждет такая же участь. Поэтому, советую запастить своей копией, пока есть такая возможность. Британский певец L.Doblado с очень эмоциальным вокальным треком Lie Alone, который в фирменном стиле ремикшировал всеми любимый проект 16 Bit Lolitas. Это проект Trafik с треком Your Light, который наделал много шума в середине нулевых, благодаря потрясающему брейксовому ремиксу еще одного моего любимчика - австралийца Luke Chable. Luke Chable - автор целой серии хитов танцполов 2005 года. Сегодня Luke Chable уже далеко не тот талантливый тинейджер, которым был с десяток лет назад, а состоявшийся и один из самых выдающихся музыкальных продюсеров мировой танцевальной сцены, имеющий в запасе более 70 собственных треков и бесчисленное количество ремиксов. Свою профессиональную диджейскую карьеру Luke Chable начал в 18 лет, но первые метаморфозы произошли еще в 10-летнем возрасте. «Тогда я не знал, что это было именно то, чем я хотел бы заниматься дальше. Mir ist bei ihr sofort der erfrischende, eingängige, hypnotische und kraftvolle Sound aufgefallen. Kein Wunder dass Bonnie schnell zu einem angesagten DJ in Kanadas Hauptstadt der elektronischen Musik aufstieg. Seitdem spielte Sie an der Seite verschiedener Szenegrößen wie Anjunadeeps Martin Roth & 16 Bit Lolitas aka Cubicolor, Edu Imbernon, Sascha Braemer, Olivier Weiter, David Hohme, Miss Melera, Roy Rosenfeld, und Sasha & Digweed. Darüber hinaus hat sie eine eigene Radioshow auf Digitally Imported, welche „Undercurrents“ (di.fm/shows/Undercurrents) heißt. Kann ich jedem ans Herz legen. Ihren Sound beschreibt die akribische Künstlerin als „dark & melodic, deep & sexy, fierce & edgy“. Was sich auf dem ersten Blick ziemlich wild anhört findet im Gesamten aber immer harmonisch zueinander. Einen perfekten Eindruck ihres musikalischen Verständnisses bietet das von Ihr eingespielte Set für uns. Dabei hält sie gekonnt den Spagat aus ihrem Markensound und dem typischen Afterhour Sound. Übergreifend erwartet euch eine hypnotisierende Reise in das Reich der tanzbaren Afterhour, welches immer wieder mit melodiösen Parts, verschickten Stimmen und Soundschnippseln angereichert wird. Das Set ist trotz oder genau auf Grund des Facettenreichtums extrem eingängig und stimmig geworden. Langweile komplett ausgeschlossen. Der Suchtfaktor dagegen ist extrem hoch. Dazu technisch perfekt umgesetzt. Ein Hauptaugenmerk legte Bonnie hierbei auf die langgezogenen Übergänge, die nur so zum Träumen einladen. Dazu eine Playlist der Spitzenklasse. Jeder Track reiht sich tatsächlich nahtlos dem Vorherigen an, ohne auch nur einmal im Set für Unruhe zu sorgen. Das können nicht viele und zeugt darüber hinaus von ihrem Engagement und die Zeit, welche Sie in die Vorbereitung und Aufnahme des Sets gesteckt hat. Dabei war Sie sich anfangs etwas unsicher, wohin die Reise geht. Meiner Meinung nach her vollkommen zu Unrecht, wie sie mit ihrem spitzen-atmosphärischen Set eindrucksvoll belegt. David Khanjian DAVÍ Los Angeles, California, USA Label's: Crosstown Rebels, Babiczstyle, Bits & Pieces, Treibstoff, Anjunadeep, DELYSID, Crosstown Rebels, Rebellion, Kindisch Biography: Hailed as “LA's best kept secret”, David “DAVI” Khanjian internationally acclaimed DJ, producer, radio host, and label owner grew up surrounded by the sounds of Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. Deeply passionate about music since childhood, it didn't take long before he was admitted to the prestigious Komitas State Conservatory's music department in Yerevan, Armenia. But it wasn't until his move to Los Angeles that the magic truly began to unfold. At the young age of 17, Davi began producing electronic dance music inspired by many world-class producers and DJjs like Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Danny Howells and 16 Bit Lolitas. Shortly thereafter he was the resident at the top electronic dance club in Armenia where his career began to unfold. With his move to Los Angeles in 2006, Davi dove right into the underground scene and locked himself in the studio for years to follow while playing at local Los Angeles clubs nights like Monday Night Social at Playhouse, Avalon, and Vanguard. Davi's countless hours in the studio opened many doors for him, first of which was remixing Robert Babiczs' “Zero” anthem which was released on the new Treibstoff label at the time. Earning recognition from top DJs in the scene like John Digweed, Guy J, Nick Warren, and 16 Bit Lolitas; Davi began establishing a name for himself in the Los Angeles underground scene. Shortly thereafter in 2010 Davi became a resident DJ for Insomniac Events in Los Angeles, where he established his residency at Exchange LA and began playing Insomniac Festivals including twice at Escape from Wonderland opening for Richie Hawtin's Enter stage. Since Davi's connection with Insomniac, he has been sharing the decks with some of the top producers and DJ's of our time including John Digweed, Sasha, Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Green Velvet, Art Department, James Zabiela and Hernan Cattaneo to name a few. Davi's name can be found on multiple labels today including Rebellion, Anjunadeep, Treibstoff, Hope Recordings, and Baroque. AVANTIKA BAKSHI (New Delhi, INDIA) For Avantika Bakshi it wasn't just divine intervention but an amalgamation of realizations that led to a rather unusual career path. It's never easy to give up a tried and tested path to chase what the heart desires. She has also performed at the most sought after venues across India and made her debut at some of the most renowned festivals such as Sunburn, Krank, Ctrl Alt Dance & Blurr. She might have only arrived on the scene but there's little doubt that she's here to serve the people the music they desire, the sounds that move soul and body. This is Avantika. If you are a dedicated electronic music fan, there really is no need to give you too much of an introduction into the world of 16 Bit Lolitas. For those that are uninitiated, welcome to a whole new world. The Dutch duo of Ariaan Olieroock and Peter Kriek have been around since the early 00's, releasing the sort of productions which always reserved space in many revered DJ bags. They received worldwide recognition with tracks like ‘Murder Weapon’, ‘Nobody Seems To Care’, ‘Sedna’ and remixes for the likes of Sander Kleinenberg and Armin van Buuren. Where many early-00's prog producers faded away, 16BL endured its heyday to stay as relevant today as they were a decade ago. Lately, the 16 Bit Lolitas have been focusing some of that energy into their side project, Cubicolor; a project with Tim Digby-Bell which of late has been gaining some serious momentum, even seeing them receive some attention outside of the club scene (they 'are currently working hard on the new Cubicolor album'). For their Balance excursion the Dutch boys have kept to form with a beautifully crafted selection of tracks and remixes from artists like Patrice Baumel, Trikk, Audiofly, Adriatique and more. And needless to say, 16BL have delivered a masterful mix. Это был 17-й релиз легендарного лейбла Deep, которому, кстати, я посвятил #85 эпизод своего шоу MAXIMUM.Лейбл Дэйва Симена Audio Therapy до сих пор пор заставляет меня напевать такой любимый Legacy в ремиксе культовых Junkie XL. Еще одно доказательство того, что это была золотая в электронной индустрии, когда релизились и печатались качественные пластинки. Ведь Legacy от Infusion - это ведь самая настоящая песня, которую хочется напевать всегда, где бы ты не находился. Была мелодия, музыкальность и душа музыканта в каждой пластинке.Ремикс Сандера Кляйненберга на трек Deeper Water от всем известного проекта PMT я просто не мог не поставить в эфире спецвыпуска. Хочу всем напомнить, что данную пластинку легендарные Deep Dish включили в 021 компиляцию для лейбла Global Underground, который записывали в Москве в далеком 2001 году.Берем прогрессив курс вместе с рекордингом Baroque в лице Central Rush и ремиксом на Out Of Focus от Illegally Blind. Глубочайший, проникновенный трек, с которым у меня теплейшие воспоминания в 2003 году.Пластинка Addiction от всеми любимых испанцев Pig & Dan заставит напевать всем известный мотив на протяжении всего дня после прослушивания. Чумовая пластинка, которая всегда со мной.Дальше у меня релиз EFX от Missy Zeze & Presslaboys, который увидел свет в 2003 году на лейбле легендарного японца Сатоши Томи SAW Recordings. Плотнейшая бочка - это фирменная коронка от SAW, этим он был узнаваем. И вообще, я всегда говорил, что в то время каждый лейбл, каждый музыкант и диск-жокей имели свой собственный почерк в музыке, свое звучание.Мой любимчик Энди Реданка с треком In A State, который вышел на его собственном лейбле Rip Records разрывает абсолютно все шаблоны в плане качества написания музыкального материала.До сих пор я не слышал ничего подобного от кого либо из музыкантов. Для меня Энди является примером для подражания, неким авторитетом среди электронных продюсеров. Он просто the best!Еще один боевик от Talisman & Hudson под названием Leaving Planet Earth. Ремикс на данный трек написал известный музыкант из Греции Dousk. Эту пластинку я, как и многие другие артисты любили ставить в самый пиковый момент, когда танцпол отлично разогрет. Далее Leaving Planet Earth просто делает свое дело - это очень мощно!Мне оказалось мало Реданки и я решил познакомить вас с еще одним его "киллером". Это его ремикс на песню Vertigo от культовых U2. Вы все услышите и прочувствуете сами и конечно же споете вместе с U2.Когда мой друг услышал в прямом эфире мой последний трек, он сказал "да ладно?".
