Zapraszamy!!

Jason Momoa was the FIRST one to audition for GAME OF THRONES and the LAST one cast a year later. His cousins impact on his life helped him make a strong choice that ultimately landed him the role. But it took him a few years and a couple of classes to trust his instinctive strong choices and learn how to "audition". BAYWATCH discovered him in his native home of Hawaii among a 1300 person cattle call. Jason responded to a radio call announcing the audition that would pay him more than the daily rate of folding T-shirts at the family owned surf shop. Jason's unique look has always made him a different choice but also made opportunities few and far between. So Jason, with many of his close friends, formed the production company Pride of Gypsies which has made Jason into an all around film maker, writing, producing, directing and acting. Jason will always be remembered for his unforgettable role as Drogo in season one of GAME OF THRONES. Currently, Jason is Aquaman in the DC Comics JUSTICE LEAGUE and AQUAMAN in 2018. Zauważalnie więcej zapłacicie w sklepach, restauracjach, a zwłaszcza - w hotelach. Hiszpańska prasa porównuje właśnie obecne ceny z tymi sprzed pandemii. I to, niestety, smutne dla naszych portfeli porównanie. Una cerveza por favor? Płać więcej. Paella na kolację? Droższa o 14 procent. Partnerem odcinka jest OANDA TMS Brokers.

February 3: Saint Ansgar, Bishop 801–865 Optional Memorial; Liturgical Color: White Patron Saint of Scandinavia, Denmark, and Sweden He sowed the frozen turf of the North, though little bloomed Today's saint walked the forests of Northern Europe during that stretch of history later known, prejudicially, as the “Dark Ages.” He lived three hundred years after the fall of Rome and yet three hundred years before the soaring gothic spires of the High Middle Ages pierced the blue sky. “Ansgar” is a grunt or a mere sound to modern ears. It seems fit for a remote, cold, and brutal age. It is difficult to imagine a child running into the warm embrace of a sunny Ansgar. But the real Saint Ansgar broke bread with Northern Vikings and rough warriors of the forest with names just like his own: Horik, Drogo, Gudmund, and Vedast. Ansgar was one of them, with one big difference—he was a Catholic. The one thing, a very big thing, that links such long-ago saints, priests, and bishops to us moderns is the Catholic faith. We share the exact same faith as Saint Ansgar! If Saint Ansgar were to step out of the pages of a book today, in his bear fur pelt and deerskin boots, and walk through the doors of a twenty-first-century Catholic church, he would be at home. His eyes would search for the burning flame of the sanctuary lamp, and upon spotting it, he would know. He would bend his knee before a tabernacle housing the Blessed Sacrament, just as he did thousands of times in the past. He would walk past statues of Mary and the saints and know their stories. He would hear the same Gospel, make the same sign of the cross, and feel the same drops of blessed water on his forehead. Nothing would be unusual. Our faith unites what time and culture divide. The Church is the world's only multicultural, transnational, timeless family. There is nothing else like Her. Saint Ansgar left his native region in Northern France, after receiving a good Christian education, to become an apostle monk to Northern Germany. He was named by the Pope as Archbishop of Hamburg and, from that post, organized the first systematic evangelization of Scandinavia. These regions were far, far away from the more developed civilizations of Italy, Spain, and France. Yet Saint Ansgar and his helpers traveled that far, and risked that much, to plant the Catholic faith in the frozen ground of what is today Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. Yet nearly all the seeds of faith that Saint Ansgar planted were to die in the ground shortly after his own death. Sadly, his missionary efforts produced no long-lasting fruit. The age of the Vikings dawned, and it would be two centuries before Christianity would again flourish and spread across the northern arc of Europe. Yet even that second evangelization would come to a bitter end! In the sixteenth century, Scandinavia abandoned Catholicism for its shadow under the influence of Father Luther and his followers. What a lesson to be learned! As Saint Paul wrote, one plants, one waters, and God gives the growth: “The one who plants and the one who waters have a common purpose, and each will receive wages according to the labor of each” (1 Co 3:8). Saint Ansgar carried out God's will. He labored for the Lord and for the faith. What happened after that was up to God in His providence. Carrying out God's will should be enough for us, as it was for our saint today. We must plant and till, even though harvest time may never come. Saint Ansgar, you persevered in difficult times to bring the faith to a pagan land. You saw success and then failure, glory and then disappointment. Your work did not outlast you but pleased God nonetheless. May we see our work as our duty, even when the fruit of our labor is harvested by someone else, or not at all.
This episode we are wrapping up the first season. In episode 9 titled "Baelor" we start with Ned wasting away in the darkness of his cell when he is visited by Varys and urged to swear fealty to Cersei and douche Joffrey. Ned's many dumb mistakes finally catch up to him this episode. Rob, who is mad AF over his father being jailed mounts an army to ride out on the Lannisters and need Walder Frey's assistance to do that. After laying out a perfect plan, he fails to get his father or sisters back but he does take Jamie Lannister as hostage in return. Over in the Dothroki camp, we see Drogo getting worse and worse. Dany calls on Mirri Maz Duur and her black magic to help him. We will see how that turns out in episode 10. Finally, we find ourselves in King's Landing with Ned confessing his crimes in exchange for the wall and his daughter's safety but....In episode 10 Joffrey gives us more glimpses of how evil he is by making Sansa look at the severed head of her father. When she and Arstan arrive at the ships, she lashes out at Jorah, punctuating her feelings with a slap across his face.Later that evening, she confides to Jorah that the act of buying a slave army doesn't feel in-line with what her brother Rhaegar would've done. Some Catholic saints, like Mary Magdalene or Francis of Assisi, are widely known even in secular culture. Other saints, like Anthony of Padua or Thérèse of Lisieux, may not be as familiar to non-Catholics but have devoted followers within the church and are associated with particular prayers or devotions. Then there are many more saints who most people, even practicing Catholics, have probably never heard of. How many people are familiar with St. Drogo, patron saint of bodily ailments, coffee houses, and hernias? Or St. Giles, who––according to popular legend––lived entirely on the milk of a female deer? And these are just the saints who have been formally canonized––that is, declared to be saints by the church authorities. The Catholic Church also uses the term “saint” in a more broad manner, sometimes to indicate anyone who is in heaven, or as “communion of saints,” to indicate anyone who is united in the holy sacraments of the church. But who decides which individuals in the communion of “small s” saints end up becoming “big S” saints––the formal saints, the ones we venerate and associate with certain areas of patronage? What is the process like, and what are the requirements for being inaugurated into official sainthood? On this episode of Glad You Asked, hosts Emily Sanna and Rebecca Bratten Weiss talk to guest Kevin Considine about saints, sainthood, and the process of canonization. Penguin Book of the UndeadPeter Jackson's Dead AliveI was half wrong about potatoes Spirits of malice1009-1018 ADBrandenburg Germany formerly Wasleman EventsPriest shows up, a bunch of people chillin in the cemetery, dying to get inPriest doesn't recognize anyone, strange for 1010s because it wasn't exactly a melting potWhen he gets inside he sees some lady that recently died, she is telling him all his stuff is taken care of but he'll be dead soon. Dignitaries and guards also saw ghosts holding candles and prayingThey vanished when the observers got close thoughLaterBishop here was made aware of the scenario and was like you need to stay there and cleanse the place. He sleeps there and ghosts toss him out on his cotBishop says do it again or no ballsThis time at midnight the ghosts lifted up his bed and dropped him on the altar and immolated him, he was covered in holy water and gear but they didn't care. They burned his body “until only fine ashes remained.”“As the day is conceded to the living, so the night is the dominion of the dead. The Blackened hearts of StapenhillSometime between 1118 and 1150 somewhere in Anglo Norman EnglandAbbot Geoffrey of burton writing about saint Modwenna What happened2 shmucks defending the monks at the monastery decided that wasn't good enoughMonks steal their crops to get them to come back They flip out with the count and attack the granariesThen the count sends knights to destroy the monastery's crops.Monks+ abbot knew they're trying to get them to fight back and get killedInstead chill in the church and moan at saint Modwenna's bones.Insane battle scene where 10 holy knights fought off sixty of the counts men when they didn't get the don't fight memo in a ridiculous slapstick battle. w/ power of god.The two flunkies that started this whole thing just died immediatelyThey're buried that night but seen the next dusk carrying their own coffins around/ bears, dogs, or other animalsThey brought ghost plague and they were so ugly everyone died (minus 3)The count says screw that and repents The other three including Drogo ( the money man) didn't die but fell illWith the monks they dug up the rapscallions and found their face linens covered BLOOD Creepy pasta is not new See above where (this definitely happened bro trust me)Time to rebury themCut off the headsStick them between the legs/aka up the a**Rip out the heart like Mola ramCook it until it pops and a bunch of crows fly outNo more ghosts, no more sicknessThey all left for the next town over and abandoned the city.THE EVIL WELSHMAN1140-1208WalesWalter map wrote this in “on the trifles” a satire of oral sources and historical narrativesWhat happenedTrust me bro Will Laudun was a knightSome evil Welshman died and rose up 4 days later, this apparently doesn't warrant explanation, nor does it merit more than a cursory glance, it wasn't just Jesus, you could be a welsh prick and just show upSo they kill him again in one sentence, chop off his head with a shovel and hose him down with holy water, I need to get hosed down with holy water after that googling. But that didn't cut it. A phantom showed up, but without a zombieThe phantom challenges William by calling his name 3 times and will follows the demon back to it's tombAre we demon's bloody Marys? Will cuts off the ghost demons head, and it falls back into the graveEveryone that was sick heals, “We know for certain the outcome of this case, but we do not know the cause.”Rampaging revenants1130-1200William of Newburgh collected tales for the history of English affairs“Numerous examples from our own time are at hand and testimonies of the fact are abundant” -on corpses walking the earth. Trust me bro my cousin hunter saw it it's totally real. Buckingham countyWhat happened:Big fat guy dies, next night he shows up in his wife's bedroom and almost crushes her under his prodigious girth, 2 nights in a row.3rd night he shows back up but she's having a slumby with some townsfolk and they tell him to get the heck out and he leavesSame happened with the guys brothers but they also warded him off.Next the whole town is on watch while this left for dead 2 boomer waddles around trying to squash people eventually in broad daylight. Invisible to some people but they could still hear and presumably smell himThe townsfolk talk to the local priest, he sends it up the chain and the bishop is like f**k, another one? We get these all the time, all over England. Ya gotta burn himThe priest thinks that's icky so writes him a nice letter of absolution, opens the grave and puts it on him and reburies the tomb. This ends the rampageWhat else happens? In a different part of England, because this was so common an occurrence: A wicked wealthy man had died, and like the rest of them, he casually got up and literally I quote from the historical text: “Pranced hither and thither, accompanied by loudly barking dogs” He terrified his neighbors and went back to his tomb at the crack of dawnThe townsfolk describing this are my favorite characters in the whole podcast, except maybe Robert Liston, time me gentleman still makes me chuckleI picture Monty python commoners delivering the hither and thither lines and “We fear we may be beaten black and blue by this undead monster” and what I think is hilarious besides the obvious of that is theirs no description of the man or his howling hellhounds10 of the bravest village people, dug up the guys corpse, ripped him limb from limb and burned the pieces Next evil spirits made everyone sick. Definitely not from ripping apart a week old corpse. WHAT NEXT?Another dies, this time a priest that hunts with dogs Starts haunting the church with a quote “Great groaning and hideous murmuring” Monks don't care because they kick ass for the lord He haunts his old mistress, she tells the monks to do something4 monks stake out the tomb and it's all quiet. When 3 are asleep he crawls from the graveMonk freezes and gets his courage back, buries a battle axe in him and the monster fled away, though not as quickly as it had came, you know on account of the battle axe.The tomb eats it, they dig it up he's covered in goreWhat next, I'll give you three guesses they rip him up and burn him“I have told this story in plain language, exactly as I heard it myself from devout men”WHAT NEXTHappened at castle anatisAn evil wealthy man Becomes lord of the castleHe increased his vices instead of trying to go clean whatever that means, he got a wife Heard rumors she was a hoor, servant helps him sneak into his own bedroom, sees her getting railed by the neighbors Teenager. He faints the teen takes off, she's like honey what a terrible dream you had.Fainting back then basically meant you died the next day so the priest that told William this story showed up to give him his last rites and he says wait till tomorrow then croaks without them. There's cool shit about medieval times like sword fighting and feastsOf course, get this, he wakes up dead. Dogs show up and start screaminEveryone feared being beaten black and blueThe dead man cause another plagueMany people died many leftTwo brothers, whose father had died of corpse breath, decided to take action into their own hands while everyone else was doing palm SundayThey uncovered the corpse “Swollen to an enormous size, its face bloodied and bloated beyond measureThey stabbed it with the shovel unleashing a never ending torrent of bloodThey take it out rip it apart, cook the heart and roast the bodyAll the disease and stuff stopped“Now that I have explained these events let us return to the course of history”That's just in a history book more or less. CrazyIn conclusionI wonder if there's anything to thisSome of the articles refer to this never happening before or sinceIt's so funny how stuff says the same and all the horror tropes are thousands of years oldWhy don't these stories pop up today? Are they fake or was this really everyday life back then?
I czy można jeszcze cokolwiek zrobić, by opanować galopującą inflację? Today Chase & Josh close out The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers in its entirety as we compare the second half of the Extended Edition film, to its corresponding sections of the novel. Keep in mind the sequences do not line up as the perspectives shift focus so there are moments that happen early in the novel, that do not occur until later in the film and vice-versa! Tag along as we discuss some of the notable differences found between the movie and the book such as; the Isengard wolves ambush of Rohan, the budding love triangle of Arwen, Éowyn and Aragorn, the portrayal of Faramir's character, who Gandalf brings on the first light of the 5th day to save Rohan at Helms Deep, and Frodo coming face to face with the Nazgûl. With the Riddikulus Crew discussing the main notable differences that stood out to each individually, providing a numeric grade in regards to Part 2 of the film as well as a numeric grade for matching moments of the novel, giving an overall score for the Two Towers as a whole and comparing an epic battle scene with another franchise, this is one you don't want to miss. "But fear no more! I would not take this thing, if it lay by the highway. Not were Minas Tirith falling in ruin and I alone could save her, so, using the weapon of the Dark Lord for her good and my glory. No, I do not wish for such triumphs, Frodo son of Drogo." - Faramir

Saint Ansgar, Bishop801–865February 3—Optional MemorialLiturgical Color: WhitePatron Saint of Scandinavia, Denmark, and SwedenHe sowed the frozen turf of the north, though nothing bloomedToday's saint walked the forests of Northern Europe during that stretch of history later known, prejudicially, as the “Dark Ages.” He lived three hundred years after the fall of Rome and yet three hundred years before the soaring gothic spires of the High Middle Ages pierced the blue sky. If Saint Ansgar were to step out of the pages of a book today, in his bear fur covering and deerskin boots, and walk through the front doors of a twenty-first-century Catholic church, he would be at home. In the sixteenth century, Scandinavia abandoned Catholicism for its shadow under the influence of Fr. Luther and his followers. What a lesson to be learned! As Saint Paul wrote, one plants, one waters, and God gives the growth: “He who plants and he who waters are equal, and each shall receive his wages according to his labor” (1 Cor. 3:8). Saint Ansgar carried out God's will. He labored for the Lord and for the faith. What happened after that was up to God in His providence. Carrying out God's will should be enough for us, as it was for our saint today. We must plant and till, even though harvest time may never come.Saint Ansgar, you persevered in difficult times to bring the faith to a pagan land. You saw success and then failure, glory and then disappointment. Your work did not outlast you, but pleased God nonetheless. May we see our work as our duty, and our vocation as God's will, even when the fruit of our labor is harvested by someone else, or not at all.

The Ghosts of Harrenhal: A Song of Ice and Fire Podcast (ASOIAF)
Dany oversees preparation for Drogo's funeral pyre. In addition to a bit of wood, and a lot of oil, she adds to the kindling the Khal's various treasures, Mirri Maz Duur, another dead horse, all three of her priceless dragon eggs, and eventually herself. She (well, she is the last dragon) survives and the three eggs hatch into dragons. Seriously: dragons. The boys don their oven-gloves and pay homage. Chapter Review: Dany orders the khalasar to gather enough wood to create a fire for Drogo's funeral. They liberally splash it with oil to aid the burn. Dany reassures Ser Jorah that she does not intend to die tonight. She adds the eggs to the fire, to his consternation - selling one of those bad-boys could fund their retirement! She frees the slaves, gives gifts to her khas - who disavow her brazenly to her face, and has Mirri chained to the bonfire for her sins. Mirri believes that Dany is trying some amateur blood magic of her own (she could hardly do it worse than the professionals). As the fire is lit everyone backs off, but Dany. The last Targaryen is drawn to the flames even as her clothes and hair are burned away. The pyre collapses and she is lost from view. Hours later, when the fire has cooled enough, Jorah and the rest of the khalasar approach to find Daenerys Stormborn suckling her three new babies. Dragons... The Ghosts of Harrenhal: A Song of Ice and Fire Podcast (ASOIAF)
Dany wakes to a whole slew of bad news. Her baby Rhaego was stillborn and monstrous. Khal Drogo is alive but catatonic. The Khalasar is gone. The boys take a long hard look at Mirri Maz Duur's medical license and consider what Dany's options are now. Chapter Review: Daenerys Targaryen has vivid dreams about the waking of the dragon. The dreams begin with the familiar warning, “You don't want to wake the dragon, do you?” But as the dream narrows and becomes more prophetic, the words are dropped until all that is left is a rather different order(?)/suggestion(?) “Wake the dragon.” When the all-too-human Daenerys wakes, it is to an entirely different world. Rhaego was born but was a creature of nightmares, with leathery wings and a tail. He did not survive. Drogo lives, but his spirit is gone. She confronts Mirri Maz Duur who, despite having a few things she could say to save herself, admits that she was seeking revenge for what happened to her people. Drogo lives, but his life is intolerably circumscribed. Mirri points out that her own life was rich and full until Drogo came. She is unrepentant. Dany does everything in her power to revive Drogo, but nothing works. When she's convinced that he cannot come back to her, she smothers him with a pillow. Characters/Places/Names/Events: Khal Drogo - Lord of a giant Dothraki Khalasar. Husband to Daenerys Targaryen. Daenerys Targaryen - Khaleesi to a Dothraki khalasar, wife to Khal Drogo, and younger sister to Viserys. Pregnant with Rhaego Targaryen, the Stallion who Mounts the World.
