On October 7, the Mooresville store (also known as The Lake) reopened its brand new doors, with a bang and a ribbon cutting! On today's episode of Stories from the River, we bring you the energy and atmosphere from right before the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Broad River leaders attended and spoke at the event, honoring the current and past leadership of the store. Today, we are joined by Tony Barr, Corporate Chaplain of America, who leads us into the event with prayer and gratitude. Charlie Malouf, Broad River's CEO, takes the stage next, reminiscing on the store's history, acknowledging the ongoing dedication and resilience of the Memory Makers, past and present, to make this store what it is today. Next is Manny Rodrigues, Broad River's President and COO, who shares the stage with Dan Pieszchala, a long-time Million Dollar Memory Maker and Home Furnishings Expert whose dedication to the team is palpable. (Stay tuned for a full interview with Dan, coming later this month to the channel.) We hear from Tim Sayles, Broad River's Director of Facilities and Construction, and Lynn Knowles, Director of Merchandising and Visual Impact, and the two share their stories of how the store really came together. Coach Stacey McCormick, EVP of Retail Performance, takes the stage next and thanks the hardworking team, both past and present, for creating in The Lake an extraordinary store. He highlights the sheer determination of the Memory Makers in Mooresville, winning the prestigious Store of the Month Yoda award, not once, but twice, during the construction process. We also hear from Chris Berrier, Area Manager and the multi unit leader for this store, who takes a moment to thank Renee Bradley for her past leadership in the store, and tells a story of hitting a very important milestone back in the day. Nathan Jeter, the General Manager at The Lake, takes the stage next and expresses all of the gratitude towards the leadership team and his own Memory Makers. Nathan has been looking forward to this renovation for years, and now that it's finally happened, he's ready to accelerate his success at the store. Hear from Nathan next week, during a full interview, here on Stories from the River. Kim Harkness ends the episode with community impact. Broad River's partnership with Beds for Kids is super important, and on this opening day, an additional donation to Beds for Kids was made. Wednesday, July 30th MBN stepped outside it's studio at the Capital Region International Airport, and attended an encouraging event for Mid-Michigan's future. BETA Technologies, Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC_, and Capital Region International Airport (LAN) gathered with invitees to see the future of aviation in Michigan. Building on its leadership in transportation, Michigan made a landmark investment to support the development and deployment of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) technology and infrastructure. Vermont-based Aerospace company. BETA Technologies, a recipient of that funding, has come to Lansing, Michigan in order to showcase its electric aircraft and commission a charger — the first electric aviation charger to be installed in the state of Michigan. This features remarks from LAN, MDOT, MEDC, and BETA about this technology, and the many ways in which it will benefit local residents, businesses, and economies across the state. You'll also see the ribbon cutting, a flight by the electric aircraft and attendees checking out the plane. Wednesday, July 30 | 10:00 - 11:30 a.m., attendees were on hand at the Capital Region International Airport. Thursday, June 5th, MBN was On The Road to Delta Township, (SW Lansing metro) as IONETIX Invests $25.75M in Delta Township Facility, Creating 53 High-Tech Jobs and Advancing Lansing's MedTech Leadership Expansion includes new cyclotron, advanced isotope lab, and strengthens Lansing's position as a national MedTech innovation hub In this video remarks are shared by officials and leaders involved ahead of the ribbon cutting ceremony. Please bear with occasional wind noise on the video's audio. Lansing, Mich. (June 6, 2025) — Yesterday, IONETIX, a leader in advanced radiopharmaceutical technologies, is investing $25.75 million to expand its Delta Township facility. The project will add a second cyclotron, and an advanced isotope processing laboratory. The expansion is expected to create 53 high-tech jobs and further accelerate innovation in life sciences and nuclear medicine manufacturing. “IONETIX's expansion is creating high-skill, high-value jobs and elevating the Lansing Region within the global medical technology landscape,” said Bob Trezise, president and CEO of the Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP). “LEAP is proud to support this project and the ecosystem of innovative MedTech companies making our region a destination for biomedical research and economic opportunity.” IONETIX marked the milestone with a community event at its Delta Township facility, bringing together company leaders, regional partners, and officials from across the state. Speakers included representatives from IONETIX, LEAP, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), and Delta Township. Founded in 2009 from technology developed at the MIT Plasma Science and Fusion Center, IONETIX has pioneered the world's first commercial compact superconducting cyclotron, the ION-12SC, which is used to produce N-13 ammonia, one of the most accurate positron emission tomography (PET) imaging agents for detecting coronary artery disease (CAD). The company has also expanded its focus to targeted alpha therapy (TAT), an emerging cancer treatment utilizing high-energy alpha particles to target cancer cells while preserving healthy tissue. "Delta Township and the Lansing region offer the ideal environment for IONETIX's continued growth. The area's highly skilled workforce, robust infrastructure, and strong spirit of public-private collaboration make it the perfect location for our expansion,” said Kevin J. Cameron, Chief Executive Officer of IONETIX. “We are honored to invest in this community and proud that it is in the forefront of creating diagnostic and therapeutic innovations.” This expansion aligns with IONETIX's broader strategy to grow its radiopharmaceutical manufacturing network, advance commercialization of new therapies, and reinforce Michigan's leadership in life sciences and medical technology innovation. The State of Michigan, through the Michigan Business Development Program, awarded IONETIX $750,000 in incentives to support this expansion, ensuring a strong pipeline of skilled talent and continued innovation in the region. We are thrilled with the company's commitment to Michigan and the Lansing community by investing over $25 million to accelerate the efforts to one day cure cancer,” said Matt McCauley, Senior Vice President for Regional Development at the MEDC. "Team Michigan welcomes IONETIX Corporation's expansion, furthering Michigan's leadership in the life sciences and medical technology industries.
