West Side hip-hop group Pivot Gang will take the stage at Millennium Park on Sept. 20 as the group headlines Vocalo's Summer Finale, a concert celebrating Chicago's music scene and the final days of summer. For many of the members, this will be their first time performing at the Pritzker Pavilion, and they plan to debut some new songs during the set. On Sept. 20, the group, composed of Saba, Joseph Chilliams, MFnMelo, Frsh Waters and Dae Dae, will also be celebrating the birthday of band member Squeak, who was tragically killed in 2021. The group sat down with Vocalo host Nudia Hernandez to play some of their favorite songs from Chief Keef, Tems and Mk.Gee — plus premiere their new single out Oct. 3. They also delved into green room necessities, pre-show rituals and what fans can expect from the Summer Finale performance. This segment originally aired on Vocalo Radio 91.1 FM during Nudia In the Afternoons on Wednesday, Sept. 18. It was produced by Nudia Hernandez and edited by Morgan Ciocca. Emmanuel Gomez, better known as Clue, is the 23-year-old rising street artist you need to know. Born and raised in Chicago's Little Village, Gomez has fostered his deep passion for visual art over the last decade, starting out with graffiti tags and growing into a distinct brand boasting collaborations with the WNDR Museum and the National Museum of Mexican Art. Gomez's Clue character (a green cartoonish figure with question marks for eyes) can be found all over the city — from murals to screen-printed tees to painted-on skateboards — including on the official artwork for Vocalo's Summer Finale on Sept. 20. He sat down with Vocalo host Nudia Hernandez to discuss his artistic evolution, working with Sentrock and the Little Village references infused into the Summer Finale artwork. This segment originally aired on Vocalo Radio 91.1 FM during Nudia In the Afternoons on Tuesday, Sept. 17. It was produced by Nudia Hernandez and edited by Morgan Ciocca. The crowd there can expect “a little bit of a different set from Lady D,” as she plans to blend house, funk, soul and disco. Lady D's Summer Finale set comes after performances at ARC Festival, NASCAR Chicago, Wicker Park Fest and Northalsted Market Days. She spoke with Vocalo's Nudia Hernandez and took over the station's airwaves to spin songs from Honey Dijon, Gavin Turek, Chicago band oux and more. This segment originally aired on Vocalo Radio 91.1 FM during Nudia In the Afternoons on Wednesday, Sept. 4. It was produced by Nudia Hernandez and edited by Morgan Ciocca. Learn more about Vocalo's Summer Finale at Vocalo.org/events.

West Side hip-hop collective Pivot Gang (AKA Saba, Joseph Chilliams, MFnMelo, Frsh Waters and Dae Dae) stopped by Lollapalooza on August 2 to present young artists on the T.I.P. Fest pop-up stage, hosted by John Walt Foundation. The four featured artists — Nae Chic, Jonathan, Queen and Zia Jenaye — were awarded the opportunity during the nonprofit's annual T.I.P. (Teens in the Park) Fest, a city-wide showcase of local artists, musicians and poets between the ages of 14 and 24. Pivot Gang met with Vocalo's Nudia Hernandez shortly after the pop-up set to discuss the importance of providing opportunities for young Chicago artists and musicians. They also delved into writing songs inspired by ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender' and new music in the works — some of which they plan to play at Vocalo's Summer Finale in Millennium Park next month. Pivot Gang will be performing for FREE at Vocalo's Summer Finale at Millenium Park on Friday, Sept. 20. Other performers include Marquis Hill, KAINA and DJ Lady D. RSVP not required. This segment was edited and produced by Morgan Ciocca, with production support from Abigail Harrison and WBEZ's Mendy Kong. Keep up with Pivot Gang on Instagram @pivotgang.

Don't stop believing! It's the grand finale of Sopranos Summer and of course, we're talking Season 6B, Episode 9 - Made in America - the series finale of The Sopranos. But first what new comic books did Jake pick up? Does Anthony hate female superheroes? Is there a dormant horror in Cody's hometown? Why is August 22nd a significant date in The Sopranos? Is this the final episode of Comics and Chronic? Is Jake the David Chase of our podcast? How did Jake originally feel about the finale? When did Cody and Anthony first watch The Sopranos? Is this the most controversial ending in television history? Was the ending spoiled for anyone before they watched it? Is Meadow naive to her dad being in the mob? Does the first scene foreshadow the ending? Has Tony Soprano's health declined? How does the ending show no matter how you interpret it, things don't bode well for Tony Soprano? Could Tony be indicted? Is the final scene supposed to be open for interpretation? Was the finale scene an FBI sting? What character names has Cody been messing up during Sopranos Summer? Was Paulie a rat? Was Christopher reincarnated into the cat instead of Adriana? What did we think of Phil's brutal death? Has Janice become Livia Soprano? Why is Cody so low energy in this episode? What lore are we adding to our Sopranos spin-off The Meadowlands? Can the kids in The Sopranos create their own Young Avengers or Teen Titans? Is the dumbest thing you could ever do listen to Bob Dylan and accidentally light your car on fire? Is Steve Perry a better musician than Bob Dylan? What is Uncle Junior's fate? Who comes out on top in The Sopranos crew at the end of the series? Was Patsy responsible for the hit on Tony? Can he become the villain of The Meadowlands? Is The Many Saints of Newark canon to our spin-off? What's AJ's fate and why is he the pilot for Donald Trump? Will Meadow Soprano become president? Why does Carmella hate successful independent women? What does Paulie confess to Tony in this episode? Did Jake fuck up as bad as AJ Soprano? What is the meaning of the episode's title? Why do they choose the Journey song Don't Stop Believing? What is Tony's fate? Is Eugene connected to the death of Tony and the final scene? Does everybody hate Tony? How many lives has Tony Soprano ruined? What's our final analysis of the last scene and what crazy theories is Anthony bringing to this episode? Does Jake think the entire family got whacked except for Meadow? Is Meadow Tony's guardian angel? What is the significance of the number 3 in the final scene? What are the best and worst case scenario's for Tony and his family in the final scene? Did Tony survive? Was this the best ending in television history? Did David Chase want people to like Tony Soprano? Did the Illuminati take out Tony Soprano? Was it Reed Richards or Jay-Z? Did Cody and Anthony like the episodes Jake chose for Sopranos Summer? Randumb Albumb Rankings will return to wrap up season 3 starting October 3rd. Thank you for your support, have a nice trip, see you in the fall! :P We all have those particular songs, artists, and bands that we really enjoy hearing when they come on the radio/TV/media source of choice. However, you tend to hide that love in front of your friends when they start being decimated verbally in front of you. Saying "Hey I like them!" would warrant odd or dirty looks towards your direction. They're called "Guilty Pleasures" This week, your snobby friends can go f*ck themselves! :P I have had to hide many songs and bands and artists over the years. And thanks to the internet and the world of podcasting, I'm letting it all loose... but I'm narrowing it down to 10 songs. You may be surprised as to what can of music I've really been digging away from classmates, close friends, and even my wife/show producer all these years! All good things must come to an end. After nine sweaty weeks of motiveless femme fatales, cucked husbands, cage fucking and nipple clamps, we're ready to say goodbye to our Erotic Thriller Summer. Thankfully, we can't think of a better film to go out on than Jane Campion's criminally underrated, misunderstood masterpiece, "In the Cut." Starring Meg Ryan in a role that was supposed to catapult her into more serious fare, along with an up and coming Mark Ruffalo in a rare performance as a scumbag, and returning podcast MVP Jennifer Jason Leigh, "In the Cut" is one of the most underrated films of the 21st century. We're joined by screenwriter, critic and co-host of Bad Romance Podcast, Jourdain Searles, to discuss this overlooked deconstruction of the infamous erotic thriller. "In the Cut" is available to stream on all your usual rental streaming apps.

As summer comes to an end, the guys are taking a break! But before they do, they're here for one last epic summer episode. They're talking how Amazon and Prime Members are going to take over Whole Foods, the ridiculousness that is MoviePass and how AMC is unsuccessfully trying to stop it, and the guys give their first ever Game of Fantasy Thrones line up, which you definitely won't want to miss! As the guys take a break for a few weeks, make sure to follow them on their instagram @pop_notsoda to see special live videos and stories of any of their adventures on break!
Another busy week for the guys of the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER!, and the schools haven't even started yet! Get comfortable as this is going to be a fun, but busy show. We start out with an interview with writer/artist Bruce McCorkindale, whose brand new version of The Falling Man is now available on Comixology. This is a project that has bounced around over the last two decades, but now it is fully finished in color and available in the digital format. We discuss the history of The Falling Man, working with Phil Hester, and Bruce's cover re-creations. Next, the guys FINALLY wrap up their summer reading program with the final installment of AvX. It took us 77 issues over eight weeks time but we have reached the end. At this point, it's not a matter of who won or who lost, it's that we finished the story. We sprinkle in some discussion of Mark Millar's deal with Netflix and what titles we would like to see developed into TV shows, as well as discuss the new costume identity for Batman's new partner Duke. We would love to hear your comments on the show. Let us know what you've been reading or watching this week. Contact us on our website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or by email. We want to hear from you! As always, we are the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! and we hope you enjoy the show. The Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! is proudly sponsored by Clint’s Comics. Deleted scenes & outtakes from WEE #85, our Periscoped Summer Finale, including discussions about Brick Like Me's Advent Calendar gag, the Hunger Games parody, and Lenny's surfer beef. What's Jack's safety blanket? Did Jesus lack self-confidence? Is Dan a pedestal, or something much much worse? All that plus modern day Cleopatras, feel-bad shows, and the Bus Stop characters say goodbye for the summer. www.weepodcast.com amazon.weepodcast.com And do yourself a favor and check out 90s Percentile! 90spercentile.wordpress.com
Jack and Dan bring the Dick up for their Summer Finale and watch Season 25's Brick Like Me, a CGI episode where Homer is trapped in a Springfield made entirely out of Legos. What are all Broadway musicals really about? How hard would WEE have sex if we were the Hulk? And who needs the Brik-E-Mart? All that plus stink seepage, a penchant for titles, and oooh baby, Freet's driving Jack crazy, every time he looks around (every time he looks around.) WEE are on hiatus after this one folks, so savor every moment! NEXT WEEK: Nothing! I mean, there's probably something going on next week, just not on this podcast. We're on hiatus through the summer, but we've got literally hundreds more episodes to watch, so WEE will be back. Stay tuned, WEE Universe, and check out 90s Percentile in the meantime.
