Enjoy this episode? Please share it with at least ONE friend who you think needs to hear it!  In this episode, Derrick Broze challenges traditional perspectives on voting, freedom, and the philosophies that guide personal empowerment. As a researcher, investigative journalist, and founder of The Conscious Resistance Network, Derrick brings a unique view on modern politics, questioning the motivations behind voting and exploring the philosophy of voluntarism. This conversation delves into alternative approaches to societal change that avoid the typical “false dilemmas” presented in the media.    Key Topics Covered:  False Freedom Movements: How certain movements, often rallying behind specific political figures, are built on psychological manipulation and support systems that don't align with genuine freedom.  False Dilemmas and Emotional Triggers: Examining the narratives designed to incite strong emotional reactions and debates, steering public opinion without challenging core power structures.  The Role of Principles in Awakening: Why many individuals who are going through an  awakening, haven't grounded their beliefs in a solid philosophical foundation and how this affects personal empowerment.  Voters vs. Non-Voters: Different motivations and philosophies behind those who vote versus those who choose not to, and how these choices reflect deeper values on autonomy and governance.  Voluntarism and Empowerment: The core philosophy of voluntarism, its principles, and how it opposes the outsourcing of personal power by encouraging individuals to take direct responsibility for their choices.  The Morality of Voting: How voting can lead to enforced compliance with policies that individuals may not personally support, questioning the ethics of participation in such systems.  Media Consumption and Awareness: The importance of critically analyzing information rather than passively consuming it, fostering a well-rounded understanding of issues.   About Derrick Broze   Derrick Broze is an investigative journalist, author, filmmaker, and activist dedicated to uncovering hidden truths. He founded The Conscious Resistance Network, an independent media platform for investigative journalism, and created The Pyramid of Power, a 17-part docuseries exploring global power structures.  Derrick's books include How to Opt Out of the Technocratic State and The Conscious Resistance Trilogy. Can you touch on that a little bit? Ari: Sure. So the whole notion of trust advisor been along around for a long time and most people will classify themselves as a trusted adviser, not as salesperson. They are the trusted advisor. Oh yeah, I'm just like, you're a trusted advisor to those clients who already know you. Sure, post sale. But you're not a trusted advisor, someone who doesn't know you, presale. That's a different way of thinking. We have to become what I call a trusted authority, which we teach to professionals how to do consultants and advisors. That's a different way of thinking. You have to be positioned yourself as an authority, you have to use a trust based process to engage them and enroll them because they don't really get to know you until after the sale. And what I teach my clients to do is…this may sound crazy right now and it's a bit of a bomb, but we teach our clients to stop building relationships pre-sale. That's the worst thing you can do. Because relationships and trust building can now become mutually exclusive. You can build trust with someone in a deep way. Without doing the whole fake rapport thing. Oh, hi, how's it going? How's the weather? It's, oh, that's great, where are you from really. All that is 1980s fake rapport that we're taught to do. And you know, what the other person knows is not real anyways, they don't want to become your friend. But here we are trying to like get to know them better have a cup of coffee, go golfing, go network, and then hopefully one day, if they like us enough, well, then they'll buy from us. Well, if you want to wait a long time for that, then feel free. But I'll tell you right now, that's just a game everyone knows. And we have a process and a system here we're talking about the removes all that BS relationship building, which is fake anyways, save the real stuff when they're a client of yours. But instead, focus strictly only on trust building. There's a metaphor we use around here, you know, you become the doctor, they're the patient. Doctors don't become your friend, doctors, I got a new bumper sticker coming out for the back of your car, you know, the bumper is just gonna say that doctors don't do coffee. Doctors don't do LinkedIn. Doctors don't do networking. Doctors have a system and a process to diagnose and solve a problem and get paid for it before it's even solved, which is genius. I've taken that concept applied it here. And this is a radical shift. Let me tell you right now, if you've spent your whole career in the old way, this won't be easy for you. Because you've been brainwashed the old way of doing anything, you got to be deprogrammed out of that. And you got to be open minded to upskill yourself to the modern age. Otherwise, we're gonna be going through a lot of pain chasing ghosts, playing the numbers game, and wondering why you're not very successful, or hitting your potential. If you don't align yourself with how the market is now, which is wanting someone they can trust. Not here's the funny thing about this, too, is that the world's become so commoditized that your potential clients can't determine and discern whether your solution is best for them. They're not qualified, they're not living in your world. See, all they really ask themselves the entire time is not is this solution, right,

One of the things I get asked the most is, “How do you podcast?” I’ve done countless calls on it, Zoom conferences and messages for it. I love connecting with you individually on how this nurse has grown a multiple 5-figure business on the side of working full-time. Podcasting is one of those ways. Anyone can start a podcast. This podcast was the result of God literally telling me to speak to people and teach them how to get out of financial ruin. So even if God doesn’t wake you up in the middle of the night to give you a personal mission- you can start a podcast and here is how and why you might want to start one. If you have a talent in any area, you can monetize it and having a podcast will help you. I literally cannot think of any circumstance where you starting a podcast wouldn’t add value somewhere. Let’s take for example a dog poop clean up service. I’m serious. Hear me out. If you had a service about cleaning up dog poop you could start a podcast about dogs. You could make it on any topic. Any topic at all. It could have episodes from various Veterinarians talking about dog health to solo episodes about how much poop a dog will have with various sized dogs and things to consider in owning a pet. You could do episodes of pet owners talking about why they love their breed, considerations, etc. All the while you are attracting people to YOUR SOLUTION of picking up dog poop for them while ADDING VALUE to them. See the equation? Problem + Value =Paid Solution. Think about EVERY company out there that sells a solution. They add value to their audience. I even had value added to me by diaper samples for our foster kid in the Target Isles. They know I will be hanging out there and they have stands to show me different brands. They don’t cold call me to ask me if I want to buy their diapers. They offer VALUE. Maybe my dog poop example was too much for you. Let’s say that you are a hair stylist. You could start a podcast on hair trends. Talk about products, hair tips, etc. You could interview people who have advanced styling techniques and have a blog that accompanies your podcast that shows photos - or even an Instagram account and put your podcast link in your bio. My point is that anyone can start a podcast on any topic. If you are giving value to an audience that cares what you are talking about , you have a reason to podcast. But there are some considerations. Let’s talk about those. First, it’s going to require you to commit to the show. You don’t have to create a weekly episode but you need to create consistent content. Your audience is going to want to hear from you and the more frequently you give them content, the easier it will be to grow. Next, podcasting requires you to learn a few skills. I am going to go over a few of those in this episode. The podcast provides my business with weekly engagement from potential customers ALL YEAR. My business moved from a domestic to an international business directly from my podcast. My podcast is listened to in over 12 countries, of which my business is capable of expanding into most of them. Have I convinced you yet you need this? The second consideration for a podcast is - are you willing to be bad long enough to get good at it? You aren’t going to be excellent right away. You will fumble over your words, feel stuck, not feeling like interviewing people, get nervous interviewing people and over all get frustrated with technology along the way. Don’t worry. So here are what you need to podcast and how much each item costs. Find your message. Ask around in Facebook groups and online if people would be interested in your topic. Do a Quora search for your topic to see if people are asking about your topic. Then get it Trademarked through the USPTO. DON’T SKIP THIS or some yahoo will come and steal your idea and trademark it for themselves. Apply for the podcast on iTunes. They have step by step instructions on how to do that in the iTunes help features. Find a site to host your podcast. I currently use Libsyn for $15/month but when I started I used Pinecast for $5/month. Libsyn has extra features like being able to tell what country your listeners are from as well as the ability to push your podcast to Facebook, Linked In, Spotify and Stitcher. Pinecast is excellent if you want to just send the link yourself out to your social sites. I love their customer service and they can also integrate to Spotify! Buy your equipment. You will need a mic and that is about it. I use an ATR 2100 USB mic. Use Zoom to record your podcast. I have a paid Zoom account so I am not limited to 30 minutes. Zoom is something I use in my business every day so using it to record was a seamless transition. Take the recording mp4 file and input it into Garage Band. I tried my darnedest to learn a non mac software for this and found that it is just easier to buy a mac. You can also hire this step out and I have an excellent resource for this. Send me a message for it - I’m not putting his contact info here in case later on he doesn’t take on clients and this post annoys him that people are still contacting him. Let’s pause here for a minute. It’s impossible for me to explain in a post or in this recorded episode all the steps of GarageBand. It’s something I have to show you or let YouTube show you. Now that you have your finalized mp4 file, you upload it into Libsyn or your host. Libsyn has step by step videos on this but it’s also pretty intuitive. Some of the features on Libsyn I don’t know how to use and I don’t care. You can contact them for those specifics. You will want to make some cover art for this. Cover art will show up on the episodes in Spotify but in iTunes it will be your generic cover art that you used to set up iTunes show. I am doing a whole episode soon on how I use Canva for this. You can check that out soon. The last step is writing the show notes. This is where you want to talk about the episode. Your title should add value to the customer. They need to read the title and know what they are going to get out of it. Finally, share your podcast episode to your audience. I use a blog to do that, Mailchimp and my social media platforms. So there you have it. How to start a podcast. Cheers friend and happy podcasting! It’s time to change that - and I can’t think of a better person to help me address the topic than Tim Riesterer. Tim is the Chief Strategy Officer at Corporate Visions, a company that makes it their business to study the facts behind sales messages. They do the work necessary to discover which turns of phrase and word choices are most effective - and they pass that information along to the sales community. This conversation follows right on the heels the Modern Marketing Engine podcast with CEO, Erik Peterson on customer conversations. Between the two of these podcasts… Well every sales and marketer should be able to crush sales messaging. Join me for this enlightening conversation. I’m confident it will help you fine-tune your sales message to get better results. This episode is brought to you by Zubtitle. Automatically add captions to any video in minutes. When Products And Services Look Alike, The Best Story Wins Among the powerful points Tim makes during our conversation is this one: Data and facts don’t close deals as powerfully as stories. That may sound strange coming from a guy whose company digs into the data to find out makes for the most effective sales message. But when you consider that it’s their research that has shown them that stories are more effective, it makes perfect sense. But Tim’s not saying any old story will work. It’s got to be one the buyer can picture as their own, one that demonstrates the risk they are taking by not making use of what you are offering. There is plenty of nuance to this kind of storytelling, so be sure you listen to hear every aspect of what Tim has to share. For Existing Customers, Your Story Lives In The Current Status Quo Tim has become known lately for pushing back against the popular “Challenger” approach to sales. Remember, his push-back is based on the data his company has researched. He says the idea of challenging the status quo works if you face a scenario where you’re trying to replace an incumbent approach. You’re trying to convince the buyer that what they are currently doing is untenable. But if you ARE the status quo and you’re trying to get a buyer to renew, you should not challenge them to think entirely different than they are. Why? It decreases the likelihood of renewal because they will not assume your company is the only one that can help them make the change you are suggesting. They’ll begin investigating your competition rather than just accepting your proposed solution. 70% to 80% of the revenue that companies derive is from existing customers. Reinforcing the status quo is the most powerful way of getting renewals, price increases, and upgrades or upsells from them. The approach that wins should highlight what you’ve already done together and showcase the momentum they have gained using your solution. HOW Salespeople Say Things Can Make All The Difference Many times, salespeople are hired because they seem to be good at trafficking in words - which is the problem. They may be able to speak well but if they don’t know how to use words properly and effectively, they are not going to be very successful at sales. All day long salespeople tend to talk about the gains, the upside, the positive reasons for using their solution. But the data shows that’s not the most effective approach. Why? Because unless your solution is the one the buyer is already using (the incumbent), YOUR SOLUTION is the risky bet in their minds. They need to be convinced you’re worth the risk - and it won’t happen by explaining all the positives of your solution. The data shows that buyers are two to three times more likely to make a change if you position your offer in terms of what they will lose by CONTINUING as they are. You’re helping them see that what they are doing is the risky thing, a loss to be avoided. When you do - you’ll increase the probability of them choosing your solution by 70%. That’s a small change in your sales message that makes a dramatic difference. Increase A Buyer’s Propensity To Buy By Using The Word “You” Often, salespeople feel it’s a humble and collaborative approach to tell their stories and give examples in a way that uses the word “we.” They believe that it communicates partnership and trust. But it doesn’t engage the buyer, it doesn’t help them envision what is going to happen for them by adopting your solution. In Tim’s words, “They become somewhat disembodied from the message - they don’t feel responsible for it.” But now let’s make a shift… When you use the word “you” in place of the word “we” in those very same sales conversations, the buyer takes greater ownership of what you’re saying. That simple change provokes their imagination - they can see themselves doing something about their problem and they get more involved. You can increase a buyer’s propensity to buy - all the way back to their feeling of how relevant your solution is, how important their need is, and how strongly they feel about addressing the issue - by simply using the word “you” instead of the word “we.” Do you see how word choice can literally give double-digit advantage to your sales message? But you have to know the right words to use to make that the difference. Listen to this great conversation with Tim Riesterer and get some of the free downloads Corporate Visions offers.
