Kumu Hina is Native Hawaiian māhū – a traditional third gender person who occupies "a place in the middle" between male and female. Kumu Hina is a co-director of KAPAEMAHU of the 2020 animated short film, which we hope is a contender for the Oscars! KAPAEMAHU is based on the long-hidden history of four healing stones on Waikiki Beach placed there as a tribute to four legendary mahu who first brought the healing arts to Hawaii.
