Hawaii Vacation Connection
The Truth About Some 5 Star Hotels in Hawaii

Hawaii Vacation Connection

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 20, 2025 16:39

In today's podcast, I'm taking a deep dive into the truth about 5 Star Hotels in Hawaii hotels in Hawaii and giving you my personal take on the realities of spending big bucks on your next Hawaii vacation. This episode will help you anticipate which resorts to choose and how to maximize your luxury Hawaiian vacation if you plan to invest in a high-end resort. What to Expect from a 5-Star Hotel Stay in Hawaii. The term "five-star hotel" creates an image of comprehensive luxury with exclusive waterfront bungalows. However, Hawaii operates differently. Top-tier resorts do not offer all-inclusive packages, which means guests must pay extra for meals and activities. Despite their high costs, ranging from $600 to over $14,000 per night, 5 Star Hotels in Hawaii provide excellent service along with prime locations and luxurious features, which validate their premium prices. I recommend travelers throttle back their expectations about what five-star hotels in Hawaii can deliver. While resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean aim to provide complete vacation experiences within their walls, Hawaii offers authentic experiences beyond hotel premises. Step outside your hotel to explore the Hawaiian islands while discovering beautiful landscapes and experiencing authentic local cuisine and Hawaiian culture. Staying exclusively at a resort inhibits your chance to experience the true essence of Hawaii. A major point to remember is that the "five-star" label on a hotel doesn't guarantee value for money. Certain properties meet their luxury ratings, but others offer less value for their high prices. Before you book a five-star hotel, you should seek advice from an expert (like me!). Consulting with an expert will help you secure the most fulfilling hotel experience that matches your financial limits. 5 Star Hotels on Oahu Halekulani Orchid Suite Halekulani - This classic luxury hotel underwent recent renovations and delivers exceptional service alongside gourmet dining options and panoramic ocean views. Although the rooms display high-quality fixtures, beautifully done, top-notch furnishings, and the rooms (about 500 SF) are large, the interior upgrades enhanced the hotel, yet the public areas stayed unchanged, preserving the property's distinctive elegance. Guests can enjoy oceanfront views from this hotel but won't find an actual beach immediately behind its property. The pool's small size is compensated by the excellent atmosphere and exceptional service. This upscale refined option falls short if your main concern is finding a property with a substantial beachfront space. At the Royal Hawaiian Hotel on Oahu The Royal Hawaiian - Pink Palace of the Pacific is a historic hotel that showcases much charm and character yet falls short of providing a genuine five-star experience. The resort enjoys a prime location on Waikiki Beach yet suffers from outdated rooms and overcrowding due to shared facilities with neighboring Sheraton. People searching for a luxury getaway should consider other options because this may not fulfill those expectations. The hotel maintains its nostalgic charm for guests seeking to experience a historic and iconic property. Espacio- This five-star experience at this location somewhat matches its remarkably high cost and is one of the best 5-star hotels in Hawaii. The rooms are huge, have their own private elevators, and if you have a family with a healthy budget, it's probably the nicest accommodation on the Island of Oahu. Espacio provides spacious suites with personal butlers and rooftop infinity pools, which make it stand out as one of Waikiki's top luxury accommodations. This location offers privacy and exclusivity for those who don't mind the cost. Also, be aware that it's overlooking the beach, but not on the beach and not obstructed by any buildings. I actually prefer this side of Waikiki and the beach there compared to hotels actually on the beach. Riz- Carlton Turtle Bay Resort

How to Island Hop in Hawaii

Hawaii Vacation Connection

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 21, 2024 14:44

If you're considering visiting multiple islands during your vacation, here are some tips to help you plan how to island hop in Hawaii effectively. Visiting more than one island in Hawaii offers a rich tapestry of experiences, each island presenting its own unique charms and landscapes. From the vibrant energy of Oahu's Waikiki Beach and the historical sites of Pearl Harbor to the tranquil beauty of Maui's sunrise atop Haleakalā and the dramatic cliffs of the Na Pali Coast in Kauai, each island beckons with its own allure. Island hopping allows travelers to delve into Hawaii's diverse cultures, cuisines, and natural wonders, creating a journey filled with unforgettable moments and a deeper appreciation for the aloha spirit that unites these enchanting islands. How to get between the Islands By Air - The most common and convenient way to island hop in Hawaii is by taking inter-island flights. Most of the planes are modern jets. Southwest uses MAX 737s. Several airlines, such as Hawaiian Airlines, Southwest Airlines, and Mokulele Airlines, offer frequent flights between the major islands. The flight duration between islands is usually short, ranging from 20 minutes to an hour depending on the distance. By Ferry - Since the pandemic, there's only a ferry between Maui and Lanai. Therefore, it's not suited for inter-island travel unless you want to go for a day trip. The ferry service connecting Lanai and Maui is managed by Expeditions. They offer dependable and budget-friendly transportation, operating seven days a week with multiple daily trips. The journey lasts approximately an hour, crossing the picturesque Auau Channel. Passengers are treated to stunning vistas of Maui County, encompassing the islands of Maui, Lanai, Molokai, and Kahoolawe. On days of clear skies, lucky travelers may even catch sight of the distant Big Island of Hawaii. Private Charter- Unless you have big bucks, this is likely not an option. You can also charter private planes or boats to hop between islands. This gives you more flexibility in terms of scheduling and allows you to explore less-visited destinations. Cruise Ship - The NCL Pride of America is a great choice for traveling between the islands and it's like a floating hotel, so you only have to pack and unpack once. While this won't give you as much time on each island compared to staying there, it can be a relaxing and enjoyable way to experience the beauty of the islands. Hawaii Inter-Island Planning Tips Traveling between the islands gives you the opportunity to see more of what each island has to offer. Typically, you need at least three or four nights to get a fully immersive experience, so depending on how long you plan to visit, it probably makes sense to choose islands that contrast each other nicely. For example, choosing Oahu and Hawaii Island would be contrasting. Book in Advance - For most people, this must be done in advance because there is a lot involved. It's pretty much a travel day, and you have to have a hotel reservation and transportation reservation for many of the best attractions well in advance. More and more county-maintained parks and attractions require reservations. You also want to make sure you have preferred flights that align with your schedule. Pack light - Less is better when it comes to luggage. Not only does it help avoid baggage fees, but it also allows you to move quicker between the islands because you'll have less to lug around with you. Additionally, if you are traveling with more than three or four people, you'll need room for luggage in your rental car! Also be aware that things like Hiking poles, Spear guns, Surfboards, and guns may be prohibited or have restrictions. Flight timing—Check-in is typically at 3 or 4 PM for most hotels, so if you wish to travel to another island and check in immediately, it may not be possible. Consider traveling earlier and engaging in an activity before checking into your hotel. ...

I'm your host, Nat Cardona. Calling all Disney fans! Orlando, Florida and Anaheim, California. Been there, done that, right? Are you looking for a new adventure to express your love for Disney? We have NerdWallet travel rewards expert Sally French with us today, ready to share five alternative Disney inspired destinations. All right, Sally, we've got a fun topic today, as you know. I know pretty much anyone in the living world knows Disney fans are big fans. They're just all hyped up for all things Disney. The two destinations we have in the US are the one in Anaheim, Disneyland and then Disney World in Orlando and all the things that come with it. But you've recently written an article about five US destinations that Disney fans may not know of that are maybe some hot places for them to go. So let's just jump right into it. I looked at this list and was pretty surprised by every single one. First one being New York City.  Yes. You know, this is a major tourist destination for anyone, Disney fan or not. But there are some good reasons for Disney fans to skip the Disneyland and Disney World vacation in 2024 and maybe head to New York City instead. So, for starters, Disney's official stuff is the two musicals that it's got running Aladdin and Lion King. Lion King is an absolute classic, really stunning art. And then Aladdin is just so much fun. The genie is hilarious. It's just great energy. So if you want to see a Broadway musical, those are two good ones to see. And not far from Broadway is the Times Square Disney Store. Unlike your usual mall Disney store, this one's two stories. It's got the usual Disney merch, but it's also got cool, unique, unique New York merchandise. And then finally, my best free to visit option and doesn't require, you know, that $100 plus Broadway ticket or buying stuff at the Disney store. This one's free You can head to the New York Public Library. What's really cool is they have the actual original plush versions of Stuffed Winnie the Pooh and all his friends. So little stuff, Tigger, Piglet, all those guys. So I think that's a pretty cool historical thing to see that Disney fans in the plaza. Who do guess it's super awesome. Very, very cool. The next saw an even less of what I expected. Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. What's Disney related We're. We're heading south to Hilton head get a little more warmth from New York and this is home to a really interesting Disney owned resort. It's called Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort. And it's part of the Disney Vacation Club. And this is a sort of timeshare like program. And to be honest, Nerdwallet does not recommend that most people join this unless you're the most ardent Disney fan who spends a lot of money as it is. In fact, the baseline cost to join it now is more than $30,000. And then there are annual resort fees or sorry, sorry annual annual dues for DDC. But what's interesting is you don't necessarily need to be a DVC member to stay at this resort. You can pay cash rates when available. And another thing that people do is they rent DVC points from existing members who just aren't vacationing that year. 00:03:27:18 - 00:03:52:13Speaker 2And so I will pay you to use your points instead. And it's interesting, unlike the resorts that are, you know, super high energy, you have a ton going on. Hilton Head is more leisurely. This is good for the Disney fan who want some Disney touches, but also just wants to go fishing or hiking or swimming. And so this is a really great way to take a Disney vacation that's far more relaxing than your theme park vacation. Actually, that's fascinating. I wish I could talk to somebody that's a part of that because I had no idea. That's nuts. Yeah, yeah. And you know, it can definitely be worth it if you truly go to Disney every year and, you know, sometimes you can get DLC, look at, you know, a resort like the Animal Kingdom budget, Disney World, which is so beautiful and has actual animals out front. You can get rooms there for the equivalent of like 100 or $200 in your DVC points versus, you know, the cash rates. There are can be easily over 400. So it can be a good deal. The problem is you have to commit to a Disney vacation every single year, which you might not necessarily want to do, or maybe just something like, you know, hopefully not another COVID pandemic happens and you can't travel that year and you're kind of out of luck. Yeah, we don't want that at all. But the next place we have, we're heading down to Missouri. Yes. This is Marceline, Missouri. I and this is Walt Disney's considered his hometown. Walt Disney was actually born near Chicago, but he spent most of his boyhood in Marceline. So so we consider this Walt Disney's hometown. And it's actually said to have shaped his vision for Main Street U.S.A., which is the iconic entrance to the park. And when you go to Marceline, you really feel that same thing. It's a small town, feel really cute, small town. And then if you're a Disney fan, you have to go to the Walt Disney Hometown Museum. They have tons of memorabilia. They've got Walt's desk there from when he was a grade school kid. And you know, it is because he carved his name in the desk just like we all did when we were in first grade. Walt Disney did the same thing. And you can see that desk there on some other cool stuff. You can see his boyhood home. A really great place to check out if you're a Disney fan. And Sally, I see that you've maybe gone there before from this date.I checked it out. I saw I saw his desk with my own eyes. And it's a fun spot. It's sort of a little hard to get to it. I would recommend flying into Kansas City Airport and then you definitely will need a rental car to get there. But if you're a Disney fan, it's absolutely worth it. Yeah, Missouri is one of those cool little spots, various parts across the state. I'm from Chicago, and so Illinois is obviously the next state over and there's a lot of hidden gems there. And I just really didn't know that Walt Disney's Hometown Museum was one of them. So not to mention it totally is. So we're heading towards your neck of the woods, San Francisco. That's correct. So there's the hometown museum in Marceline, Missouri, and then there's the Walt Disney Family Museum. And this is located in San Francisco. Walt Disney, whose family lives in the San Francisco Bay area. So this museum was actually founded by his daughter, who has since passed away. But now it's sort of overseen by his grandchildren. And this is a really cool place, especially if you love history of any type, whether it's Disney history or just, you know, World War Two era history, Depression era history is really compelling. 00:07:06:19 - 00:07:37:10Speaker 2And they have cool stuff in there. They have a multi plane camera, which is just one of three in the world that was used to film animated movies like Pinocchio and Bambi. And there's an amazing Disneyland model, and it's really fun to look at. You could spend hours and hours there. And besides the the Walt Disney Family Museum, there's other really interesting Disney touches on the other side of the Bay Bridge over in Emeryville, which is the city adjacent to Oakland, is Pixar's headquarters. You can't walk through. But they do have, you know, some stuff that you can see out front. And of course, when in Oakland, you need to stop for ice cream at Fenton's Creamery, which you can see that exact version animated in the Pixar film app. I didn't know that. And the other one little aside that you had mentioned, Disney at Berkeley, the library, that's very similar to the one in Monsters University I can contest. That's true. And I'm a good old friends. I went to Berkeley and we walked through it and I was like, my God, I'm 20 years old. Look at this. This is just like the movie. It looks familiar, doesn't it? It's that's really last on on the list here. Looks like Oahu, Hawaii. Tell me more. Now. This is another vacation club outpost, so much like we talked about with the Hilton head, where you have to be a DVC member to stay. Alani is the DVC resort. But again, you can rent points or you can book remaining rooms on cash. This is an interesting resort. It's removed from Waikiki Beach. Where is all the tourists hullabaloo? This is an area called Colina, which is a little quieter, a little bit off the beaten path from Waikiki. And you can meet Disney characters here. The lines are so much shorter than meeting them in the parks. So if you want to meet Moana, you want to meet Mickey and Minnie, come do it here. And they've got giant pools and water slides, and then they've also got the Disney treats. So Disney fans loved it. You can buy that there. You can buy a spare moose Ruby in the shape of a mickey Mouse. And then, of course, if you do love toilets, you might as well head to Oahu anyway, because they've got the Dole plantation there, which is definitely a must visit for any door fans. Yeah, I've heard. It's very beautiful too, from the pictures that I've seen it Absolutely beautiful. Is it fair to say, since we're wrapping up this list here of these other Disney destinations, that you're a Disney fan yourself? Ooh, I think you got me. How did you guess? I don't know. I've been to all of these places because I'm such a personal fan. In fact, I was just at Aulani last week doing some very important research. I had to buy a Mickey shaped spam musubi just to make sure that I knew what I was talking about when I came to talk to you. Okay. And can you just tell me exactly what that is? I mean, I know you're saying the word spam, but I don't know what the next part is. Yes. Is there spam? Musubi is is a great Hawaiian classic treat. And you can buy these everywhere. You can buy them in the little mini markets like little ABC stores. And it's basically just a piece of spam and some rice and it's wrapped in seaweed and it's really tasty and those sprinkles and seasonings on it. And you can also customize these things. So if you want to get fancy, you could add some egg. You could add a little shrimp, you could add, you know, avocado. You can get fancy with a spam movie. But, you know, the fanciest for Disney fans is eating the rice in the spam in the shape of a Mickey Mouse head. Yeah. So once in a lifetime event can't be said. All right, Sally, anything else you need to add? Want to add about these Disney destinations? You know, there's so many good destinations around the U.S. and I think, you know, so many of us Disney fans go to Disneyland and go to Disney World. And we think we've seen it to the max. We've seen every corner. But there are so many other places to go travel to and experience Disney without being at a theme park. And save yourself some of those lines, too. Thank you so much, Sally. I appreciate it.  Thank you.

As many of you know, David, the founder of this podcast, was an incredibly insightful man. A lot of that was gleaned from the hardships that he endured, many that were self-inflicted. He also studied Eastern religions like Buddhism which helped him acquire a better understanding of the human psyche, and pointed him toward directing his energies inward toward improving himself in order to improve the world around him. Along the way, in his memoir, Out There: A Story of Ultra Recovery, he showed how he could attain a huge measure of that by showing his vulnerability, unashamedly exposing his mistakes and shortcomings, discussing the self-loathing he felt, and letting people make up their own minds about his efforts to make amends, and importantly, not harboring ill will toward them if they chose not to accept any of that. He understood that we all have done things we regret, and he was willing to accept others for who they were trying to be instead of judging them for past misdeeds. The most interesting book along those lines I have read in a while is by Nick Moore. I found his book, Who Am I?, to be a real page-turner that I tore through in two sessions. Nick grew up in Texas among racism, violence, and parents who were unfaithful to one another. On the plus side, he loved to play football, and in high school received all of the adulation that football players get in Texas, and eventually got to play for Georgia Tech and Baylor. On the other, he had a mercurial, sometimes violent father. Nick discovered that his father had been molesting his daughter and granddaughter, leading Nick to call Child Protective Services, and causing an irreparable rift in his family. Nick struggled from that point with depression, substance abuse, mistrust of his religious upbringing, and finding a good direction to his life. Nick's story takes more twists and turns than a rollercoaster as you share his bad luck, frustrations, and questionable choices. But he could eventually see how the Universe was pushing him in the right direction, even after losing his life savings – an envelope with $4000 in cash – that he'd planned to use to re-start his life in Amsterdam.Interestingly, Nick had a psychological breakthrough while experimenting with psychedelics. He now lives in Hawaii, where he learned about the love and acceptance offered by Hinduism, and found some very wise mentors. He shares his poetry with visitors on Waikiki Beach, and like David after the revelations he realized, has become a leader in teaching others about vulnerability, self-love, and compassion, and most importantly, how people think about themselves. He definitely gave me some impetus for self-reflection, so I hope you enjoy this chat, too. Nick Moorenicholasjordanmoore.comHis book "Who Am I?" is available on AmazonNicholasjordanmoore@gmail.comInstagram @nicholasjordanmoore and @papa_infiniteYouTube @nicholasjordanmooreX @NickJordanMooreTikTok NicholasJordanMooreBill Stahlsilly_billy@msn.comFacebook Bill StahlInstagram @stahlor and @coachstahlYouTube We Are Superman Podcast

Hi guys,Sorry for the delay we had a recording session that was a bad recording and so we had to re-schedule this show to get a good recording. So this past year we lost a famous and pioneer in the tiki world, Harry Yee at the age of 104 years old. Wow, that in itself is an amazing accomplishment. Do you want to grow that old? I'm aiming for 100!!Anyways, on this show we will cover two of Harry's cocktails: Tapa Punch (1959) and Chimp in Orbit (1961), Tapa Punch was the first cocktail to have a parasol incorporated in a drink. The Chimp in Orbit was named after a chimpanzee also known as Ham the Chimp and Ham the Astrochimp, was the first Great Ape launched into space. Both of these drinks will include some Puerto Rician rum and Jamaican. We also get into Harry's life story and where and how he started his journey to the tiki world and some of the accomplishments he made along the way that we know and cherish today.  Here is a sample of some of these facts such as he flew in World War II for the Chinese air force. He also worked for Don the beachcomber and Trader Vic which we know are the pioneers of tiki. He then moved onto the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort is a resort hotel on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii.  There several show including Hawaiian Eye and the movie Blue Hawaii were shot and Harry created drinks for them. He also was approached by Bols to create a nice tropical blue cocktail to go with their new Blue Curacao liqueur. On "Did you know?" segment: we will give you some cools facts about Hawaii like did you know there are no snakes on the plane (ops, I meant island...sorry Samuel)!! There are also no billboards and they are the only state of USA that still honors a king!! and much more.....Links to the show:Recipes from this show: https://tikicentralcanada.ca/recipes-page-2/The YouTube Video for Tapa Punch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMuelHTwFCUAnother YouTube video for Tapa Punch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=278HKOc3dHAChimp In Orbit Cocktail YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Md8jpp9xS-Y&t=67s

Maybe that's why she was so relaxed and seemed so extraordinarily happy. I suspect though she is a person who has decided To make people who come into her orbit instantly feel they are living in a beautiful world. This conversation that you're about to hear between myself and Rebecca left me with the feeling that we really are living In a fantastic world.  We didn't talk deeply about any of her struggles  in this lesson.  However she does touch on something very personal that I suspect many people would find almost impossible to overcome.

Every agent wants to build a real estate dynasty. That's the goal, right? The question is,  do you have enough discipline to reach that threshold? A lot of agents today don't practice what they preach, and it shows in the lifestyle that they live. On this week's episode of the Massive Agent Podcast, host Dustin Brohm sits down with Realtor/entrepreneur Juliet Lalouel to discuss the importance of being confident and unapologetically YOU.Juliet Lalouel is a Luxury Realtor, Investor, and Entrepreneur residing in Oahu, Hawaii. Since acquiring her license in 2018, she has gone on to sell multi-million dollar luxury properties in Waikiki Beach. Juliet has paved the way for herself. Starting as a mentee for the first six months of her career without pay, she was able to look beyond the instant gratification everyone seeks and took the time to learn the ins and outs of her market while investing in herself and her mindset. Have a listen to the conversation as Juliet lays out the blueprint of how she indulged herself in a market of high stature. Adjusting her lifestyle to the role of a luxury realtor was not easy, and it most certainly did not come overnight. It took time, discomfort, investment, and sacrifice, but that's what it took to be successful. Juliet advises us NOT to be a secret agent and always be vocal about what we are trying to accomplish. ***********************Sponsored by: Follow Up Boss, the CRM of choice for agents ready to scale quickly. We are very happy to be speaking to Moon Civetz today! Moon is the Vice President of Global Sales for Maverick Helicopters. His kindness and consistent presence at trade shows have resulted in Moon becoming a well-known figure in our industry.  In this episode, he shares his fascinating journey and talks to us about the unique and memorable experiences he has created for his customers.  We hope you enjoy listening to our delightful conversation with Moon Civetz today! Moon Civetz's bio Beginning in Hawai'i, Moon Civetz received his MBA, Master of Beach Activities, becoming the Head Designer for a theatrical, convention, and display company. Due to his involvement in the Hawai'ian Music Renaissance period, his company, Moon Lights, was born as he designed and rented lighting, staging and labor for numerous shows. With an abundance of creativity, that company soon morphed into Moon Light & Magic, offering an array of theme parties. He caught the attention of Sheraton Hotels in Hawai'i and was recruited to become their first Divisional Director of Special Events. The position encompassed opening Neighbor Island hotels directing Convention Services and Catering Departments and putting his imagination to work creating property-specific theme parties. From the Neighbor Islands he then joined the re-opening team of the historic Sheraton Moana on Waikiki Beach creating theme parties for the incentive market. Next up, Sheraton had another project that needed creativity and strong relationships in the group, meeting and incentive markets so off he went to Tucson, Arizona as the Director of Incentive & Insurance Sales of the Sheraton El Conquistador. After putting his mark on that southwestern property, he was moved back home to the Big Island as a member of the opening team re-branding the Ritz-Carlton Mauna Lani to Starwood's Orchid at Mauna Lani. Over the course of his nearly five years at The Orchid, he created signature theme parties, setting sales records and winning corporate and individual awards for meetings and incentives. Being well-known throughout the Islands, a new challenge presented itself: he was recruited by the General Manager of the Hyatt Kaua'i to help him open the Hyatt Lake Las Vegas as the Director of Incentive and Insurance Sales. So, back to the mainland he went as part of that opening team. After a year of hard hat tours the property opened and became the number one hotel for sales in the Hyatt Corporation. He went on to open Station Casino's first luxury hotel, Green Valley Ranch Resort, applying his creativity and utilizing his strong relationships to help establish that casino property in the meeting & incentive market. His reputation in Hawai'i followed him to Las Vegas where he became well known in the local hospitality community. He was next approached by a DMC company joining them as VP and General Manager. Today, he is Vice President of Global Group Sales for Maverick Helicopters. Still working his innovative magic, you can find him in the Las Vegas Corporate office planning events in the Grand Canyon or creating wonderful memories on Maui and Kaua'i. Moon's background While living in the Hawaiian Islands, Moon became the head designer for a theme party production company that expanded as the convention industry grew in the Hawaiian Islands. Moon branched off and started a lighting company called Moon Lights, which morphed into a party company called Moonlight Magic that did lighting and parties for incentive groups. He did the lighting for some rock ‘n roll bands and had a lot of fun doing the lighting for some Hawaiian groups that came to be quite well-known.  Shared Hotels He was asked to join Shared Hotels in Hawaii and became their Director of Special Events. He opened hotels on the outer islands and created themed events specifically for each destination.  A party booklet Moon put together a booklet called SPLSH (Spectacular Parties Live at Shared in Hawaii) for incentive houses and people looking for things to do that contained information about the parties at each hotel.  Plantation Gardens One of the hotels that he got going in Hawaii had an unused grass area behind it, so he suggested turning it into a plantation. That became the Plantation Gardens. Maverick Helicopters After moving to Las Vegas and opening several hotels, someone from Maverick asked Moon if he knew of anyone to help them out. Moon offered to help and ended up creating a group department for Maverick. It started with Moon and two salespeople, and it kept on growing until it became Maverick Aviation Group. Since COVID, however, they scaled back and became Maverick Helicopters.  CITE Moon joined CITE more than thirty years ago and has enjoyed watching it grow. He feels that it is one of the best organizations he has ever been part of. The luckiest guy in the world When Moon sees the smiles on people's faces after they return from an experience he created, he feels like the luckiest guy in the world! Grand Canyon Moon organized a unique experience where they flew people in a helicopter to an isolated landing site at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. After landing, they served lunch. There was no road leading to the landing site, so all the chairs and tables they used were specially constructed to fit into a helicopter. They even flew in a portable toilet for the guests to use. Las Vegas Motor Speedway Maverick is the only helicopter company allowed to fly into the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, so they fly there for the races. They also do a tour of the Grand Canyon, where they stop to allow the guests to do some fast laps on the track with one of the companies that offer that. Heliyoga They have an experience called Heliyoga, where they land on the highest peak on the Valley of Fire and do a yoga class followed by a glass of Champagne. Up there, it is very beautiful and quiet. Red Rock Canyon  They have added a new excursion, where they fly over Red Rock Canyon and land on a private landing zone to watch the sun go down and see the city lights come on. Then, they fly along the length of the Strip. The safest Maverick is the world's safest helicopter company. Making people happy Moon is always looking to create new experiences that will make people happy because he enjoys that the most! One-on-one meetings Moon believes that one-on-one meetings will never change, even though technology will keep on increasing.  IMEX Moon feels excited about the upcoming IMEX conference and having the opportunity to reconnect with his old friends. Landing safely Most people do not realize that when the power goes down in a helicopter, it can still hover down and land safely. Hawaii Maverick opened in Hawaii five years ago. They offer some unique and beautiful experiences there! Connect with Eric On LinkedIn On Facebook On Instagram On Website Connect with Moon Civetz On LinkedIn
