85: Celebrating Integrative Nurse Coaching: Karen Avino EdD, RN, AHN-BC, HWNC-BC Highlights"The trend word out there is well being, right? We want Nurses, everyone, to feel like they are in the state of well being.  We know that well being is really static. It's like in the present moment, I'm feeling well, whereas really, self development is about well becoming, because it's a much longer journey of... and never ending, a never ending journey of well becoming, right? That always has to be a major part of who we are and what we do, because without that experience and being able to develop ourselves, we can't sit with the suffering of others and do a meaningful job with them, or take on the suffering ourselves, or, you know, all of those pieces." ~Karen Avino EdD, RN, AHN-BC, HWNC-BCAh-Ha MomentsInnovative Specialty Courses for NursesUpdate on Nurse Coaching CPT CodesRevamping the online curriculum of the Integrative Nurse Coach Certificate Program (INCCP)Renewing Alumni Connection ProgramCelebrating the success of the Integrative Nurse Coach Symposium in FloridaExcitement about the Holistic Holiday at Sea+ MORE!Links and ResourcesIntegrative Nurse Coaches in ACTION! podcastEp25: It's Time to Re-Energize Nurses!- Karen AvinoEp72: Inspiring Nurse Voices at the 2024 INCA Symposium!Ep73: More Inspiring Nurse Voices from the 2024 INCA Symposium!Holistic Holiday at SeaINCA's Specialty Course PageKaren's email Integrative Nurse Coach Academy I Integrative Nurse Coach FoundationWe provide nurses with a global community for learning, networking, and reconnecting. Join hosts , The Natural Nurse & DrZ, as they explore some of the most powerful natural  treatments for digestive ailments.   Digestive concerns are one of the top issues that initiate both in office calls to physicians and over-the-counter sales of self-help medicines.   In fact, heartburn, GERD, gas ,bloating, constipation, diarrhea, and even more serious conditions such as colitis and Crohn's disease are so common in the western developed world, that many  mainstream prescription medicines have become Over the counter [ OTC] and are used by millions of people at their peril, as they have a litany of side effects and drug nutrient depletions.   For example, allopathic treatment of GERD/ heartburn requires patients to be put on a cocktail of proton pump inhibitors and Histamine blocking pharmaceuticals for lengthy periods to block excess acid when in fact, patients have an overproduction of too weak acid, and  have chronic hiatal hernias. The Standard American diet,{SAD}  is devoid of many nutrients, and the use of these pharmaceuticals leads to gastroparesis, or the food remaining in the stomach for too long…. fermenting, causing gas and bloating, and feeding negative stomach intestinal flora.    Natural medicines and TCM [the ancient Chinese system of medicine] have developed effective, non-toxic treatments that get to the root cause of these conditions. For instance, a naturopathic physician Fletcher (1800s ) had his patients simply take bitter herbs,  chew their food to liquid, take time with their  meals,  and cured 90% of these all digestive conditions!!   In addition, there are a host of other effective treatments that will be discussed in the program  such as digestive tonic herbs, carminatives, aperitifs, homeopathics, traditional Chinese medicine, enzymes, and other supplements  which can Aid patients in the treatment of  these acute and chronic digestive concerns.   Contact:    Ellen Kamhi PhD, RN, AHN-BC, RH(AHG)                  www.naturalnurse.com                      Dr. Eugene Zampieron, ND, AHG                  www.drznaturally.com

So many diseases have been linked to toxicity and the LOADING THEORY, but this scientifically verified  link is often ignored in mainstream medicine. Recent research on Diabetes shows that it may be closely related to the bodies toxic burden of heavy metals ! https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34369715/  and POPS (persistent organic pollutants) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7238916/pdf/imcj-19-16.pdf   https://diabetesjournals.org/care/article/29/7/1638/28580/A-Strong-Dose-Response-Relation-Between-Serum, than even sugar itself!!                There are so many ‘trendy ways' and “faddish posts” and “influencers”  which discuss detoxification on the internet, that listeners and readers are often misinformed, and can do HARM if not adequately evaluated, prepared and coached for a detox program.               The Natural Nurse & DrZ have been supervising professional  detoxification programs for over 40 years, and have a wide range of experiences clinically  to share, discussing the proper ways to detoxify the various organs of the body. They have discussed clinical proven ways to detoxify, (or let's use the proper word, DEPURATE), in their incredible book,    Arthritis: the alternative medicine definitive guide. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1587612585/ref=as_li_ss_il?ie=UTF8&tag=natunurs-20&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399369&creativeASIN=1587612585       The hosts will discuss natural medicines supporting the emunctories, the term used for the organs of detoxification, which include the Liver/gallbladder, the lymphatics, the kidneys, the bowels, the skin and the lungs.   By following such a clinically proven and safe  approach to DEPURATION, one can lower the body's burden of heavy metals and persistent organic pollutants;   this will  remove obstacles to cure and help to conquer complex chronic diseases such as chronic fatigue syndrome, autoimmune arthritis, chronic pain and inflammation, diabetes and many other ailments which have been linked to the toxic burden or the Loading Theory.   Contact:              Ellen Kamhi PhD, RN, AHN-BC, RH(AHG)  www.naturalnurse.com                             Dr. Eugene Zampieron, ND, AHG                www. drznaturally.com

We are called to thrive.   Yes, we must first of all survive as signified in Maslow's Hierarchy.   Our community of conversation is dedicated to nourishing the siren call to go beyond, and to be sure to join others as we learn to thrive, despite our challenges. Thriving together. We can get beyond the shock to our world brought to us by accelerated change and exacerbated by the pandemic. But never alone!  For this episode we had the opportunity to chat with two experts who have collaborated with a team to research, write about, teach, and share ways we can seize the pain of change to create better leaders and transform this pain into an opportunity for better work, better lives, better world.  Welcome our guests from Lewis University, Adrienne's alma mater, Dr. Michele R. Kramer, PhD, MSN, RN, AHN-BC and Dr. Lesley Page, PhD. We mention this because it relates to our recently published networking strategy guide. Adrienne got the diploma and easily could have just moved on with life. But as a lifelong learner, she made the effort to stay connected to Lewis and her friends and educational mentors. Lucky us that she did!  Michele and Lesley had been focusing on new approaches of leadership, with a more wholistic and spiritual foundation. They recognized that the comprehensive tome published every decade was not sufficient to address the ever-changing field of leadership and leadership study. They began writing articles on the subject.   And then COVID hit! Each of us can identify and follow that statement with how radically their work was upended. Yes, and the field of health care, even more! Their recent research is driven by the collision of understanding leadership and navigating the pandemic.   Listen as our guests share insights into leadership in a VUCA environment (volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous). A Leadership Beyond exists to support the alignment between the business strategy and people strategy - to drive results with people not at the expense of people (Talent Optimization). Subscribe to our podcast to join the Leadership Beyond Community of Conversation and hear insights from thought leaders and human development experts leading the way in the field of Talent Optimization. As always, we'd love to hear from you about your insights, challenges, and successes around leading (self and others) through transitions.

Because if we slow our movements down and really become more aware of how things are working, it changes our whole way of being in the world.” ~Judy FasoneWhen you move more freely, it allows you to follow your heart, and this offers many more opportunities to feel joy and happiness.Combining Nurse Coaching with other modalities one is passionate about allows Nurse Coaching to become more personalized to the Nurse and to clients, patients, and communities.Nurse Coaches are entrepreneurs, and can also work in more traditional Nursing roles.Nurse Coaching reduces the use, impact, and burden to the healthcare system, because the skills of a Nurse Coach help people understand they can learn to rely on their own wisdom.  It also helps them act earlier, instead of waiting for illness to happen.Shifting Nursing practice to telehealth and becoming more comfortable in the virtual space opens more opportunities for Nurse Coaches to reach into their communities.
