While I have spoken at SXSW, ArcView, New West Summit, and been interviewed by publications such as Business Insider and Forbes, I still did not feel content with my accomplishments. I found out that if you live by society's standards, you will never feel fulfilled because those weren't your dreams to begin with. I felt betrayed by society, I did everything I was supposed to do to be happy. I sacrificed my time, my health, and my relationships. I decided to do a 180 and became ULTRA SPIRITUAL. This provided me with a lot of relief from the mental suffering and pressure that I felt as an entrepreneur but I could also see downsides to always living in the moment and trusting that the universe will take care of you. This led me to create a framework that would take the best from both worlds. I wanted to combine practical, utilitarian skills with a metaphysical ideology so that you can lead a life of passion and purpose without sacrificing abundance. Now, I want to share this framework with as many people who want to begin prioritizing fulfillment and have self-mastery over their own lives.
This week, I had the pleasure of interviewing Seibo Shen, creator of The I Am Self Mastery Academy, and he did not disappoint! This episode is just full of takeaways, as we learned from Seibo about the “I Am Equation,” which consists of Intuition, Actualization, and Manifestation, and "takes the pressure off of yourself for having to figure everything out. You simply follow your HIGHEST JOY and the rest of life will unfold even more beautifully than you could have envisioned."We also talked about the law of attraction, having professional AND personal success, the 3 categories of consciousness, the power of meditation, breath work, the double slit experiment and so much more!Seibo Shen, is an entrepreneur, mindset and business coach who has had 6 successful exits. One of the hardest things for driven people to do, is to learn when to adapt and persevere and when to move on. Today's guest shares a few stories about how he learned those lessons. As a young kid, he found an early passion for Soccer. It wasn't tallent alone though, he put in the work; hours on the field in practice. Through the sport, he learned a lot about himself; he liked to see and understand the big picture. The perfect spot to get that view was Goalie! That dedication and commitment eventually turned into Olympic prep, which further led to an invite to the Ivy League to play at Brown! On Senior day, his parents drove 14 hours to see their son play; only to see him on the bench, in favor of a younger, taller, Freshman Goalie. He was gutted. Contemplating leaving the team, he reached out to an athlete friend for guidance; the advice was simple, talk to the coach, see what he could do, needed to do, to be on and in the team. Received well, he followed that guidance, did his part, and was eventually rewarded with opportunity when the team needed him. A number of years into professional life, working in the natural products industry, he was given a huge promotion from managing 1 line of business to 15. The workload was crushing. Days stretched into weeks, and into months. He came home every night drained. It was literally killing him. With a Mortgage, Wife, and two daughters, a driven person doesn't just quit, but, as he noted, "If you can't take care of yourself, you can't take care of anyone else". For him and his family, he needed to find the right vein for him. With a background in startups, investing and mentoring, a slight pivot from Natural Supplements to the nascent Cannabis Industry was his next eon. With the synergies and success that followed, it proved to be the correct choice with the huge impact his company has had on the Cannabis Industry. Please enjoy the Founders Journey of Patrick Rea, Co-Founder of CanopyBoulder. Professional Summary: In 2013, Patrick founded CanopyBoulder, a seed-stage, mentorship-driven business accelerator and investment fund focused on data, fintech, software, and IoT in the cannabis industry as well as hemp/CBD businesses. He frequently runs panels at industry events, and has served as a judge for multiple Marijuana Business Conference & Expo Pitch Slams. Patrick graduated with two degrees from Brown University where he played Division I soccer, and resides in Boulder, Colorado with his wife and two daughters. Women’s successful inclusion in the cannabis industry has been the goal of ArcView’s Chief Investment Officer, Jeanne Sullivan, since she left the world of corporate tech investment in 2014 and entered the cannabis industry, bringing her much-needed skills along with her. “Throughout my career, I have been interested in supporting women entrepreneurs who receive less than 3% of venture capital funding and very little access to resources to help grow their businesses, especially women of color,” Sullivan said.Enter Women’s Investor Network “Our goal is to do better than the tech industry has done,” said Sullivan, who co-founded the Women’s Investor Network (WIN), which is part of the Arcview Group. WIN’s members seek to mutually empower, train and support women working in all areas of the cannabis, hemp, and CBD industry. “We’re bringing more women investors, companies, and products to the forefront of the industry,” Sullivan said. “By focusing on diversity, inclusion, and developing an equitable cannabis industry, we’re opening a door for women and encouraging them to walk through it.” Currently, WIN has more than 120 members. “Many of the women who joined WIN have no formal training and yet they’ve managed to set up and run successful companies,” Sullivan said. “And that inspires me. We share and teach each other.

For many business owners, Payroll & Benefits management are a common core part of starting a business. Employees & Taxes need to be paid, laws need to be followed; those are the basics. Most of the RED HOT HEALTHCARE podcast shows are about 30 minutes in length. However this one was a true 'hour of power' - and perhaps my most engaging yet. Because I was lucky enough to have secured an interview with Steve DeAngelo. Steve is an undisputed national leader and provocative visionary in the cannabis industry. With four decades of activism and advocacy, he’s inspired millions of individuals to not only learn about and benefit from cannabis, but also in influencing efforts to pass laws in local, state, and even foreign countries. He co-founded Harborside Health Center, the largest and most successful medical marijuana dispensary in the world. He's also the co-founder and president of the ArcView Group a company and investor network, which successfully introduces investors to the cannabis community. He also wrote a powerful and well-researched book, which completely transformed the way that many individuals, including myself, have come to view cannabis. It's called The Cannabis Manifesto - and I highly suggest you make this your next purchase and read. Steve has been featured in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, CNN, O’Reilly Factor, the Associated Press, Huffington Post, The Wall Street Journal, NPR, the BBC, the Discovery Channel, Fortune Magazine, Forbes Magazine, and many other major media outlets. In this show episode...Dr. Steve and Steve DeAngelo discuss some incredible dialogue on cannabis, including: The 'tainted' history and perpetuated lies (some eye-opening 'Whoppers') Why it is NOT an intoxicant Steve's unique history (From MLK, Freedom Riders, and Joining the 'Yippees'...to graduating Magna Cum Laude and going to Law School) Explaining its "ELEGANT & MAGICAL" impact on fighting cancer Why its legalization actually strengthens communities The story of success with Harborside Health and the ArcView Group And so much more...

Steve DeAngelo has been an activist for as long as he can remember. Coming from a self-described “Civil Rights Family,” he even attended Martin Luther King Jr.’s March on Washington as a 5 year old. When he discovered cannabis at age 13, he felt like he truly found his life’s calling. He ‘joined the revolution’ at age 16 when he banded up with the Youth International Party, and spent the next few decades standing up for his principles as an activist. By the mid 2000s, Steve founded the dispensary paragon Harborside Health Center, and by 2010, had founded the ArcView group to guide the burgeoning legal cannabis industry, thus firmly establishing himself as one of the greatest and most effective advocates for cannabis legalization of all time. When Steve DeAngelo talks, people listen. With us, he shares his thoughts on California’s push for proper regulation, as well as his thoughts on the industry and movement as a whole.
