Alessandro Nero / @kindcrime-recordings https://www.facebook.com/AlessandroNeroXI With more than 10 years of releases with various aliases, including several albums, EPs and dozens of singles, Alessandro Nero is a morbid take on industrial techno, even if his sound is not really characterized by only a certain type of elements and therefore cannot be defined within a single subgenre, in fact it expresses itself through various forms, always remaining coherent and defining itself within the parameters of an industrial proposal, which movement is constantly evolving thanks to direct contamination with other related genres such as acid, ebm, hardcore and breakbeat, but also towards new reinterpretations and less direct influences of urban cultures such as metal and punk in their various facets, therefore both for a purely artistic and personal reason Alessandro Nero wants to project the idea of a futuristic global world that could live a socio-cultural epiphany through the understanding of all modern and effective styles to transmit something sensorially relevant and hence unifier. He has been remixed by artists like Scalameriya, Endlec, JoeFarr, Blush Response, D Carbone or Keepsakes and has great experience in clubs throughout Europe and South America, participating in 2016 in the 25 years of Tresor Berlin and performing in the vast majority of European countries such as England, Holland, France, Germany, Poland, Russia, Italy, Spain, Greece, Hungary and many others. At this point Alessandro Nero can undoubtedly be considered one of the most ruthless instigators of the Sith army. Alessandro has just recently released a 10 original mix album "Mythologies Of Violence in Postmodern Media" on his own label Kindcrime and 1 track in a solidarity VA on the italian Insane Industry. In the following weeks he is also releasing a track in a VA on Sticky Ground and in the following months an ebm techno album on X-IMG, SARIN's label, that will be composed by 7 original mix and 1 remix from Crystal Geometry. He is also working on the first album of 'From Science To Ritual' with singer Elen Payne, an industrial and experimental noise side project that will see the light at the end of this year. Here we are again, after the last Christmas and a well-deserved rest, we return with the fifth season. After this winter break, we thought it was the best to invite close friend to play some records and tell us the story behind them and so it was. Redwan who has been a resident in Madrid since 2011, has worked closely with several media as Geometrika FM, Abysmal, Forward, XXXO, Turntables, Electromagnetic Radio and Clubbingspain. He is currently a member of Trauma, the collective which has brought to Madrid some of the best talents of the most risky techno. Blush Response is joey blush, a cuban-american artist and sound designer hailing from nyc who now resides in berlin. blush cut his teeth doing programming work for artists such as fear factory, rhys fulber, cristian castro, and as a touring member of joey jordison (slipknot)'s alternative rock project scar the martyr. a fascinating, vibrant new artist, frequenting the outer realms of post punk, industrial, techno, you-name-it and has a plethora of releases on cd, vinyl, digital and even cassette tape format to date on labels like sonic groove, aufnahme + wiedergabe, ant-zen, and total black the intention behind blush response is to always push the limits of sound, structure, and perception, creating a modern version of what he perceives industrial music to be: brutal, inventive, uncompromising and always innovative. throbbing gristle, surgeon or front 242 have left audible traces in his sound, and his goal is to recapture the core spirit of these originators, and then to evolve it even further. performing on hardware synthesizers is a big part of the essence of blush response. his approach is very ‘hands on’ and thus 90% of the changes you hear on his sounds are done by hand without any automation. blush believes in performative gestures over cut and paste editing, and strives to explore the limits of human-machine interactions. his live performances are 100% improvised and mostly unplanned which includes mistakes and happy accidents, and this philosophy is also reflected in his studio work. blush response's music is characterized by a heavy approach to sound design, combining rough, glitch-heavy beats with thick, distorted synths. pounding, head-tripping kick drums intermix with abrasive, dark sequences generating huge walls of cavernous sonics. a pulsating slice of straightforward noise-filtered techno with a good dose of industrial and ebm influences while blush's improvising skills enable a sound that blurs the lines between these genres. a barely tamed beast, biting and piercing holes in eardrums and somehow magically managing to make your feet tap along or, at considerable volume, rave. Beaumont, aka Michael Rintoul, is a young Scottish producer and creator of hypnotic R&B dream pop-soundtracks for late night bliss-outs. His unique and immensely addictive debut EP “Blush Response” was recently released on Boxcuttters' Kinnego imprint and is well... one of the best EP's we've heard in a while. This is the label that introduced Space Dimension Controller to the world back in 2009 and with only 4 titles to it's name it's obvious label honcho Boxcutter is all about quality over quantity. Still getting some heavy plays in the Wild City office, “Blush Response” is a wistful night-time groove from start to finish. Tracks such as “Tokyo” and “Lucky” sound like dubstep as made on a Fairlight in 1982, full of emotion and breathless invocations. The most overtly vocal track, “Midnight” seems to reference 80s Marvin Gaye with its drum machine and electronic piano palette and lovelorn emotional delivery. Recalling a more minimal Eurythmics, “Flesh + Blood” blends guitars and synthesized cellos into a desirous, heartbroken pop song for hopeless romantics. As we took a trip through Beaumont's record collection on this one, we were simply blown away by the selection. Featuring artists like Kraftwerk and Michhel Rubini, through to the UK sounds of Silkie and Jamie XX - Think moody, 80's, R&B, bass, dubstep, sci-fi, chillwave and everything in between.
