A Sky Full of Holes: Weather Records Aim to Undercut Kohberger's Alibi It was a dark and cloudy night—literally. According to records from the National Weather Service, that's not just a dramatic opener—it's the kind of detail Idaho prosecutors say could help dismantle Bryan Kohberger's defense. On November 13, 2022, Kohberger allegedly left his apartment in Pullman, Washington, around 4 a.m., drove a short distance to Moscow, Idaho, and fatally stabbed four University of Idaho students inside their off-campus home. He says he was just out for a drive. A moody, late-night cruise through the Palouse to clear his head and maybe catch some stars. But the government is now pointing to a cloudy, foggy, and unusually cold morning as evidence that his story doesn't quite match up with the conditions outside. Prosecutors want to introduce detailed weather data into the upcoming trial, pulling from the National Weather Service records in the area during the night in question. And they've got expert analysis to back it up. FOX Weather meteorologist Andrew Wulfeck reviewed the observations and found that visibility was reduced due to fog, with low clouds that wouldn't have made for much of a stargazing experience. Not a blackout-level fog, but enough to paint the night sky with a dull, overcast haze. As Wulfeck put it, “not the greatest night” for a celestial joyride. The timing and purpose of Kohberger's alleged drive have been a central piece of his defense. In court filings, his attorneys describe a routine behavior—driving in the early morning hours to run, hike, or take in the sky. But prosecutors aren't buying it, and the weather records could help them argue that the conditions were inconsistent with that kind of activity. Wulfeck explained that temperatures on both November 12 and 13 were lower than seasonal averages, due to a ridge of high pressure in the region. Sky conditions, wind speeds, and even sunrise and sunset times all added up to one thing: a cold, cloudy night with no real celestial action overhead. The nearest weather station is located at the Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport—almost exactly between Kohberger's apartment and the King Road crime scene. That location reported fog and reduced visibility but not enough to cause official alerts. Still, the takeaway is clear: if someone was out that night looking to hike under the stars, they would've needed a serious imagination—or night vision. And just to top it off, there was no eclipse, no supermoon, no cosmic event to give a stargazer any real reason to be out there. It was just a dull, gray sky—pretty much the last place you'd want to be if the stars were what you were chasing. This seemingly simple data point—weather—may become a strategic strike in the larger case against Kohberger. Prosecutors are challenging his alibi in court and want the records, along with other evidence, admitted at trial. That includes Amazon purchase history that allegedly ties Kohberger to a Ka-Bar knife and sheath, the same kind of sheath found under one of the victims, with Kohberger's DNA allegedly recovered from its snap. The defense, unsurprisingly, wants all of that kept out. Weather data. Amazon records. Anything that could further paint a picture they're trying hard to dispute. Kohberger is accused of four students in the early morning hours of November 13. Six hours after the killings, Kohberger allegedly took a smiling selfie in front of an empty shower. His attorneys say he was just out for a drive. Prosecutors say the clouds don't lie. Jury selection is set to begin July 30, with the trial expected to start August 11. #BryanKohberger #IdahoFour #TrueCrimeTrial #KohbergerCase Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? In this week's episode of the Ag Tribes Report, host Vance Crowe is joined by Chris Bennett, a journalist from Farm Journal, to discuss the latest developments in agriculture. The episode kicks off with a deep dive into Canada's bold economic shift away from the US, as Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announces retaliatory tariffs in response to US policies. The conversation explores the potential impacts on both countries, with Bennett providing insights into the political dynamics at play. The discussion then shifts to ADM's significant job cuts in the grain trading division, highlighting the broader trend of cost-cutting measures across the agricultural industry. Bennett and Crowe delve into the implications for farmers and the friction between traders and producers. The episode also covers the US egg crisis, examining the government's decision to import eggs to stabilize consumer prices and the resulting impact on American farmers. The decline in honeybee populations is another key topic, with Bennett expressing skepticism about the recurring alarmist reports. The conversation wraps up with a discussion on Bitcoin land prices and the unique dynamics of the Bitcoin market. Throughout the episode, Bennett shares his candid views on government intervention in agriculture, the role of policy in shaping the industry, and his personal experiences in ag media. The episode concludes with a light-hearted segment on personal anecdotes and reflections on family, providing a well-rounded exploration of current agricultural issues.

#724 Show Notes: https://wetflyswing.com/724 Presented by: Drifthook Fly Fishing Sponsors: https://wetflyswing.com/sponsors Streamer fishing for trout is all about movement, and few people understand it better than Tommy Lynch. In this episode, Tommy breaks down his four-step framework for fishing streamers, explains the difference between suicide fish and would-be predators, and shares why most anglers aren't getting the full potential out of their sink tips. If you're looking to up your game on big browns in small creeks, this episode is packed with tips you won't want to miss. Episode Chapters with Tommy Lynch on Streamer Fishing for Trout How to Fish Streamers Like a Jerkbait for Big Browns Streamer fishing isn't just about casting and stripping. It's about making your fly move like a wounded baitfish—something trout can't resist. Tommy explains that the best way to do this is by mimicking the action of a jerkbait, specifically the black and gold No. 13 Rapala, which has been deadly on brown trout for years. Four Key Techniques for Streamer Action: Down Swat - A true jerkbait-style movement where you “swat” the fly through the water to make it dart and dig before swimming out. Straight Strip - A steady retrieve with small breaks in rhythm, mimicking an injured baitfish. Proper Placement – You want the fly close enough for the trout to see and react but not so close that it spooks them. Reading the Fish – Watch for slight movements—if a trout shifts left or right, it's game on. The Two Types of Trout: Suicide Fish vs. Would-be Predators When streamer fishing, Tommy breaks down trout into two categories: suicide fish and would-be predators. Understanding these can help you dial in your approach. Suicide Fish These trout sit tight against structure, waiting to ambush anything that moves. They don't need much convincing—just proof of life. A quick down swat and pause can be enough to trigger a strike. Key to this is using slack to let your sink tip actually sink. Just casting and waiting won't cut it. You need to shake out line or reach toward the fly to help it drop. Would-Be Predators These fish aren't actively hunting but can be triggered into striking. They often hang in slower water, watching for an easy meal. A straight strip in the middle of the retrieve keeps their interest, but the real trick is slowing down near the end. That pause can be enough to flip a passive trout into attack mode. Whether you're targeting an aggressive fish or coaxing a hesitant one, understanding their behavior is key. And remember—just because you bought a sink tip doesn't mean it's sinking. Use it right, or you're just dragging it through the water. Essential Streamers for Trout Fishing When it comes to streamers, Tommy keeps a variety on hand. From classic muddler minnows to modern swim flies, each has a purpose. Go-To Patterns Muddler Minnow – A timeless fly, perfect for imitating minnows, especially during fry season. Sex Dungeon – A bigger, articulated fly that moves aggressively in the water. Blane's Game Changer – A segmented fly with a lifelike swimming action, great in slow water. Great Lakes Deceiver – A swim fly with a broad, gliding motion, ideal for provoking strikes. Matching the hatch is key. Some days, trout want small minnows on a five-weight. Other days, they'll chase down a big meal. Adjusting your presentation—whether it's a slow jerk or a fast retrieve—can make all the difference. Small Stream Brown Trout: Stealth and Strategy Fishing small creeks for brown trout is a whole different game. Tight water, overhanging trees, and spooky fish make for a serious challenge. But the reward? Lots of fish and zero crowds. Key Tactics for Small Creeks Stealth is everything – Move slowly and blend in. Stand still, and trout may swim right up to you. Cast upstream – This keeps your fly in the trout's line of sight while reducing drag. Short leaders work – A 6- to 7-foot leader helps control the fly without excess slack. Walk far, fish hard – Many of these waters require hiking in. The more effort, the fewer people you'll see. Michigan's small streams are packed with wild brown trout, and many are rarely fished. If you're willing to put in the miles, you'll find fish that are aggressive, unpressured, and ready to eat. Finding Big Browns in Tiny Creeks Small creeks may be tight, but they hold more fish than you'd think—including some big browns. The trick is knowing where to look. What to Look For Heavy structure – Undercut banks, log jams, and tag alder thickets create safe zones for trout. Hidden water – Spots that seem impossible to fish often hold the best fish. Naive trout – Less pressure means more aggressive fish willing to hit a well-placed fly. Fishing these small creeks is an adventure. You'll crawl through brush, jump logs, and make tight casts. But the reward? Wild trout in untouched water. And sometimes, a true giant where you least expect it. Winter Streamer Fishing: When to Go and What to Expect Streamer fishing in winter isn't always easy, but it's worth it. The fish are bigger, more aggressive, and fewer people are on the water. Tommy follows weather windows, layering up to chase those cold-water eats. Key Seasonal Patterns Fall (October–November) – Browns are aggressive but defensive. They hit flies to chase off intruders, not necessarily to eat. Post-Spawn (December–January) – Big fish get hungry. They need calories after spawning, so the strikes are all about feeding. Late Winter (February–March) – Fewer bites, but larger fish. Some exhausted browns even take swung flies, which is rare. When streamer fishing slows down, steelhead take center stage. By late November, Tommy swaps the strip flies for two-handed swing flies. If you're tough enough to fish in freezing temps, you might just hook into a monster. The Salmon Invasion: How It's Changing Michigan's Trout Fishing Salmon runs bring big fish and big crowds. But the rise in anglers chasing Chinook has made traditional trout fishing tougher. Once, anglers could target big browns feeding on salmon eggs. Now, with more people pushing upriver, those spots are packed early in the season. The solution? Hike farther, fish hidden creeks, and find spots that others overlook. The browns are still there—you just have to work harder to reach them. Show Notes: https://wetflyswing.com/724
President Donald Trump unleashed an angry rant Thursday about the U.S. Agency for International Development. He falsely claimed billions of dollars had been stolen there to fund pro-Democrat media. But only hours later, CNN posted video of Secretary of State Marco Rubio repeatedly praising USAID in the past and describing foreign aid as crucial to U.S. national interests. So what position will Rubio be put in if Trump and Elon Musk continue trying to destroy USAID? We talked to Jeremy Konyndyk, a former USAID official, who explains why Rubio will inevitably clash with Trump and Musk, their dark and unstated reasons for attacking USAID, and why the humanitarian consequences of all this are terrible to contemplate. Congressman Bob Good repudiates treatment of the IRS Whistleblowers that blew the whistle on Joe and Hunter Biden tax case. Good comments that “we're living in very dangerous, concerning times on many levels, but one of which is this kind of goes back to NPR. It used to be that the media took very seriously their responsibility to hold government power accountable, even Democrat power, and to try to get to the truth, the old Woodward and Bernstein days, if you will, to try to get to the truth and expose corruption in government. They, the media, used to also take its' responsibility to protect free speech and defend and fight for free speech. The left used to stand for that, no longer. Now we live in the age of censorship of information like we've never seen before, this administration belatedly explicitly colluding with, pressuring Big Tech to censure viewpoints, whether its political viewpoints, whether it's health information, whether it's election information, or campaign information, and this suppression of information, this collusion to rig elections by controlling the truth, or they can't control the truth, but controlling access to the truth, parroting what they know to be false information and elevating that and yet suppressing the truth. Very dangerous times. And it's it's amazing that Republicans and conservatives are even competitive in this environment politically, when all the levers of power are being worked against us in a way like we've never seen before. Particularly in violation of track, frankly, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and those sorts of things that are so fundamental.” Additional interviews with Alan Dershowitz on why New York's criminal conviction of former President Donald Trump will be overturned and former DEI Derek Maltz, Sr on China's latest efforts to exploit the open Southern Border.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Last week we told you about some important new information we uncovered. These new discoveries prompted us to take a harder look at events in the first four months of the COVID-19 pandemic—creating an extensive timeline in the process. What we found surprised us. The sequence of events show a battle raging behind the scenes regarding the origins of COVID-19. The battle pitted former President Donald Trump and a few members of his administration against most of the intelligence community, many of President Trump's own advisers—and Anthony Fauci. There was also a subplot—an ongoing battle between Trump adviser Peter Navarro and Anthony Fauci. The two men clashed often, but Fauci was helped by the media—and the intelligence community. With hindsight, however, both President Trump and Navarro have been completely vindicated. Fauci has been completely discredited—and as jaded as we already are, we found ourselves taken aback at just how duplicitous Fauci really was. Out of necessity, we're going to cover a number of dates, so we hope that you'll bear with us. ⭕️ Watch in-depth videos based on Truth & Tradition at Epoch TV

This time in our longform weekend podcast - Glenn runs down the legal stories of the week. First, Donald Trump said during Sean Hannity's interview - if he's elected - he'll be a dictator on day one. Even worse, he just put something in a new court filing in his criminal case in DC that indicates he also intends to act like a dictator in his criminal case - deciding legal issues himself rather than waiting for or abiding by legal issues as decided by Judge Tanya Chutkan. According to Glenn - this is a new level of danger Trump is injecting into the mix. Then, Judge Chutkan rules that presidents are not kings, and therefore are NOT absolutely immune from prosecution for their crimes. Glenn says her work is masterful and inspirational. Next, we now know that former Vice President Mike Pence is on the prosecution's witness list in Trump's Georgia state RICO case. Glenn discusses how Mike Pence's testimony will bring the criminal heat to Trump. Then finally, a new Jack Smith court filing reveals how one of Trump's "campaign employees/co-conspirators" attempted to start a "riot" at the Detroit, Michigan, vote-counting center on Nov. 4, 2020, once he saw the count was trending for Joe Biden. Glenn talks about how this co-conspirator statement will actually be sharply incriminating evidence at Trump's criminal trial in Washington DC. Judge Chutkan's written opinion is important reading, and may help reinforce (or restore) the public's confidence in the rule of law.Link to Judge Chutkan's ruling here:https://ecf.dcd.uscourts.gov/cgi-bin/...If you're interested in supporting our all-volunteer efforts and mission, you can becoming a Team Justice patron at:https://www.patreon.com/glennkirschnerFor our Team Justice and Justice Matters merchandise visit:https://shop.spreadshirt.com/glennkir...Check out Glenn's website at glennkirschner.comFollow Glenn on:Threads: https://www.threads.net/glennkirschner2Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/glennkirschner2Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/glennkirschner2Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/glennkirsch...See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
