Wir haben uns Johannes Pfau eingeladen, um zu erfahren, was passiert, wenn man eine generative KI mit Daten über komplexes Spielverhalten versorgt und welchen Nutzen das nicht nur für die Spieleentwicklung, sondern auch das Spielerlebnis haben kann. Johannes ist Postdoc an der Universität von Kalifornien im US-amerikanischen Santa Cruz, wo er am Game User Interaction & Intelligence (GUII) Lab zur praktischen Anwendung von KIs in und für Spiele forscht. Sein Fokus ist das Deep Player Behaviour Modelling, bei dem er mithilfe von Techniken des maschinellen Lernens das Verhalten von Spieler*innen bzw. deren Entscheidungen in Spielen wie dem MMORPG AION bis zum einzelnen Tastenanschlag imitiert. In this week's Pixels & Ink Podcast: Jordan sits down with Alex, Chris, and Dayna to talk a little about Troy Levitt "resigning" from Avalanche after the controversy around his Youtube Channel became public—although, allegedly that had nothing to do with it.
