On this episode, we chat with Margo's Got Money Troubles star Michael Angarano! Michael plays the show's "villain" Mark, who's Margo's baby daddy. We talked in depth with Michael about the character, how he approaches him, and how he isn't actually a villain. We spoke about Mark's empathetic approach to the character and his growth through the first season of the show. We also tapped into Mark's relationship with his mother in the series. Angrano also spoke about how his work as a director has sharpened his instincts as an actor. He's learned to use both and says he still loves that the emotional disconnect of performance is something no amount of technical knowledge can fully replace. Michael brings a strong performance in a show that I can promise you is worth your time. "Margo's Got Money Troubles" is a bold, heartwarming, and comedic family drama following recent college dropout and aspiring writer, Margo (Fanning), the daughter of an ex-Hooters waitress (Pfeiffer) and ex-pro wrestler (Offerman), as she's forced to make her way with a new baby, a mounting pile of bills, and a dwindling amount of ways to pay them. The series also stars Academy Award winner Marcia Gay Harden, Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award-winner Greg Kinnear, Michael Angarano, Rico Nasty and Lindsey Normington.  Michael Anthony Angarano is an American actor with a career spanning film and television since the mid-1990s. He's known for roles like Young William in Almost Famous and Will Stronghold in Sky High. He also played Nick Pearson in NBC's This Is Us, earning an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor. Angarano's other credits include Music of the Heart, Cover Me, I'm Dying Up Here, Gentlemen Broncos, and Oppenheimer (2023).

We had the pleasure of interviewing Candlebox over Zoom video!Celebrating 30 years of success, Candlebox is capping off their long and influential career with The Long Goodbye. The new 10-track collection, produced by Don Miggs, finds the group taking stock of evolving maturity, fleeting time, and lasting love, all while kicking a lot of ass. Lead single “Punks” is a cautionary message to young bands that they won't be the hot new thing forever. Charging forward with a slashing guitar riff and rapid-fire drums, Kevin howls about quick-burning success and vacuous trends. The Long Goodbye also includes the sneering statement of independence “What Do You Need,” co-written by Nick Brown of the alt-rock band Mona, who also appears on the track, and the moody, atmospheric “Elegante,” where Kevin dives headlong into creative wordplay as Miggs and the band mimic a synth-pop vibe with guitars and drums. Elsewhere is the acoustic “Maze” and “Cellphone Jesus,” where Kevin allows some of his worldview to seep in as he searches for a sign from above for a damaged society.The Long Goodbye is ultimately a statement record, a document of a band that somehow survived an era that tragically proved too seductive for some of their peers to remain not only successful, but relevant. The mighty Mode is back with their first single since 2017's "Cover Me." It's called "Ghosts Again," and it's from the forthcoming album Memento Mori.  Brian and Sarah were very excited to talk about this new song, and they weren't the only ones! After very little arm-twisting, they convinced Brian Belknap of the fantastic synth duo Blaklight to join them for a conversation about the new song and the video that accompanies it. Kevin Martin, a multi-platinum musician, is the frontman of Candlebox, a Seattle-based rock band whose chart-topping self-titled debut album has been certified 4x platinum by the RIAA. With singles like “Far Behind,” “You” and “Cover Me,” the album launched a 30-year career that has seen the band release seven studio albums, continuing with their 2021 record “Wolves.” The band has unique ties to the Keys, as they filmed the music video for their single “Understanding” both above and below the waters of Marathon with legendary director Gus Van Sant in 1995. Next month, Martin will return to the Keys for the first time since the shoot as he performs an acoustic set at the Key West Theater on Tuesday, Feb. 22.
