China's procuratorial authorities recorded a decline in both juvenile crime cases and crimes against minors submitted for prosecution in 2025 for the first time in nearly five years, as prosecutors strengthened early intervention, targeted correction and broader social governance, the Supreme People's Procuratorate said. The SPP‘s 2025 white paper on juvenile procuratorial work, published on Monday, International Children's Day, showed that procuratorial organs accepted 91,573 juvenile suspects for review and prosecution in 2025, down 9.8 percent year-on-year. 9.8%。Theft, group fighting, rape, robbery, provocation and disturbance, and fraud accounted for 76.7 percent of juvenile crime cases. 76.7%。A total of 55,814 juvenile suspects were prosecuted, down 1.9 percent year-on-year. The number of suspects in the 14 to 16 age group dropped 13.4 percent. The SPP also approved the prosecution of 24 minors aged 12 to 14 for serious violent crimes, sending what it described as a clear message that age does not shield young offenders from criminal responsibility.2025年,全国检察机关共起诉未成年犯罪嫌疑人55814人,同比下降1.9%。 At the same time, prosecutors continued to emphasize education and correction. In 2025, they decided not to approve the arrest of 28,200 juvenile suspects and not to prosecute another 38,100. The nonarrest and non-prosecution rates stood at 44.5 percent and 40.6 percent, respectively. 40.6%。Follow-up education and assistance were provided after such decisions to help minors return to the right path. More than 71,000 eligible minors also had their criminal records sealed. Procuratorial organs have balanced punishment with protection, promoted graded intervention for juvenile offenses, strengthened supervision over specialized education and correction, and continued to improve juvenile crime prevention and governance, according to the SPP. The SPP recently released typical cases involving emerging risks to minors, including school violence, cybercrime and new addictive substances, to illustrate that approach. The SPP noted that gang-like behavior and repeat offending remain common problems in juvenile crime and major challenges for education and correction. In one case in Huzhou, Zhejiang province, two teenagers gathered other minors to fight for the title of "campus boss". Prosecutors handled those involved differently based on their roles, circumstances and risk of reoffending. Those who organized or actively participated in the fight were prosecuted or placed under correction measures, while those who played minor roles received targeted education and assistance. The SPP said prosecutors should look beyond the offense itself and identify the roles minors play in violent conflicts and unhealthy peer relationships. It called for stricter measures for those at higher risk of reoffending and more tailored assistance for those who followed others without committing serious violence. New addictive substances have also emerged as a prominent challenge in protecting minors. In one case in Shandong province, a 17-year-old boy sold nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, to other minors under the direction of a KTV and bar operator. The operator was later sentenced to life imprisonment for crimes including rape, illegal business operations and illegal detention, while the minor received a seven-year prison sentence. Prosecutors in Shandong also proposed local legislation banning the provision and sale of nitrous oxide to minors. The proposal was adopted, resulting in China‘s first provincial-level legislation targeting the abuse of laughing gas among minors. The white paper also showed a decline in crimes against minors. Prosecutors approved the arrest of 56,338 suspects in such cases, down 1.4 percent year-on-year, and prosecuted 72,807 people, down 2.2 percent. 2.2%。A total of 42,873 people were prosecuted for sexual offenses against minors, including rape and child molestation, down 5.5 percent. The number prosecuted for crimes against children younger than 14 fell 6 percent to 38,384. Both categories declined for the first time in five years. The report also highlighted mandatory reporting and campus safety. Under China's mandatory reporting system, people who work closely with children, including teachers, doctors and hotel operators, must immediately report suspected abuse, violence or other forms of harm involving minors to police or other relevant authorities. Those who fail to do so may face administrative or criminal penalties. In one case in Shanghai, a teacher who molested several female students was sentenced to seven years and six months in prison and barred from work involving close contact with minors. Prosecutors also found that school officials failed to promptly report earlier complaints from parents. The officials were later criticized and disciplined. The procuratorate subsequently worked with authorities in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces to establish a cross-regional mandatory reporting mechanism in the Yangtze River Delta integrated demonstration zone. Last year, 3,852 cases involving crimes against minors originated from mandatory reporting leads, accounting for 7.1 percent of the total. Procuratorial organs also urged relevant departments and organizations to hold more than 400 people accountable for failing to fulfill mandatory reporting obligations in cases where serious consequences occurred.2025年,检察机关办案中发现的侵害未成年人犯罪线索源于强制报告的有3852件,占办案总数的7.1%。 The SPP said prosecutors should move beyond handling individual cases and address broader governance issues by identifying the root causes of juvenile crime from the perspectives of individuals, families and social environments. procuratorial authorities /ˌprɒkjʊərəˈtɔːriəl ɔːˈθɒrətiz/检察机关juvenile crime /ˈdʒuːvənaɪl kraɪm/未成年人犯罪submitted for prosecution /səbˈmɪtɪd fɔː ˌprɒsɪˈkjuːʃən/受理审查起诉illegal business operations /ɪˈliːɡəl ˈbɪznɪs ˌɒpəˈreɪʃənz/非法经营罪illegal detention /ɪˈliːɡəl dɪˈtenʃən/非法拘禁罪mandatory reporting mechanism /ˈmændətəri rɪˈpɔːtɪŋ ˈmekənɪzəm/强制报告机制integrated demonstration zone /ˈɪntɪɡreɪtɪd ˌdemənˈstreɪʃən zəʊn/一体化发展示范区

The reason your meal prep keeps failing isn't because you're not disciplined. It's because you're copying systems built for people who like cooking. If that's not you, those systems will never work. You know the spiral. You're on Pinterest, you find recipes that look amazing, you go and spend hundreds of dollars on groceries (including six herbs you've never heard of), and by week three you're hating life and the kitchen is a war zone. Week one you were motivated. Week two you were okay. Week three you've given up. You know what hasn't given up? The weird herbs. They're still in your pantry. They will outlive us all. In this episode I share: The 10-meal rotation: the framework that fixed my dinners forever ("we like what we like" beats Pinterest every time) Theme nights and the science of pre-set decision frames The meal plan is a guide, not a contract: how to swap meals without falling off the wagon Component prep, not full meal prep The viral lunch bag I designed at the SPP warehouse The Woolies online list hack that saves me 30 minutes a week Decide what's for dinner at 9am, not 5pm: the rule that ended my 5pm panic forever BONUS: The Grab-and-Go Tub — pantry snacks the kids choose from … Episode Links: Shop the Luxe Lunch Bag: https://www.stephpaseplanners.com.au/collections/luxe-lunch-bags Shop the Shopping List Notepad: https://www.stephpaseplanners.com.au/products/new-shopping-list Shop Magnet Planners: https://www.stephpaseplanners.com.au/collections/planner-magnets Steph’s Amazon Storefront: https://www.amazon.com.au/shop/justanothermummyblog/list/17TTU785IMM53 … Follow Stephing Up I’m Steph Pase, your (somewhat) organised bestie in your ears. Morning Me Cannot Be Trusted: Six Things I Do the Night Before

Stephing Up

Have you ever stood in the kitchen at 7:14am holding two odd shoes and a half-made sandwich, wondering whether it's Wednesday or Thursday? It’s no secret that I’m a hot mess. And mornings (and the 35,000 micro decisions we need to make by 9am) are always extra messy. So if you've ever been late to the meeting that mattered because morning-you wrote the wrong start time in your head, or your screen time number scares the shit out of you, or you've already snapped at someone you love before the day has even started, this one is for you. The secret? Stop trying to fix your morning. Fix your night. In this episode I share the six night-before rituals I follow, because morning me cannot be trusted. The handover document, the launchpad, and the toast I refuse to make. In this episode: - The day I was an hour late to the Steph Pase Planners Zoom that broke me — and the rules I made because of it - 35,000 micro decisions by 9am: the science behind why your brain is exhausted before you've even started the day - Ritual 1: Outfit prep with the labelled hangers (and the 6pm weather check) - Ritual 2: Lunches 80% prepped (the alternative is the KFC drive-through, ask me how I know) - Ritual 3: The launchpad + the life pouch (which was originally an SPP tech pouch I made) - Ritual 4: Same brekkie every single day (overnight protein Whip-Bix because I hate toast) - Ritual 5: The brain dump → handover document for your future self - Ritual 6: The 15-minute increment alarm hack (and why "shaping" in psychology beats willpower) - The two-step rule (pulled from S2E7): if it takes more than 2 steps, redesign it … Episode Links: Shop the Life & Tech Organiser Pouch: https://www.stephpaseplanners.com.au/collections/tech-organiser-pouches Steph’s Amazon Storefront: https://www.amazon.com.au/shop/justanothermummyblog/list/17TTU785IMM53 … Follow Stephing Up I’m Steph Pase, your (somewhat) organised bestie in your ears.

The Business of Trust: What Steel Patriot Partners Is Watching at RSAC 2026 | A Brand Spotlight with Michael Parisi

As RSAC 2026 approaches, Michael Parisi of Steel Patriot Partners sits down with Marco Ciappelli and Sean Martin to talk about what it means to show up to the world's largest cybersecurity conference with a business-first mindset. For Parisi — a 20-plus year veteran of professional services, federal compliance, and cybersecurity — RSA is less about the show floor and more about the quiet corners where real conversations happen.   Steel Patriot Partners operates on a simple but powerful premise: business owners first, engineers second, compliance professionals third. That philosophy shapes everything from how they engage clients to how they show up at industry events. At RSAC, Parisi's calendar is already full — and intentionally so. The value isn't in the booths. It's in the bilateral trust that forms between peers who cut through the noise to share what's actually working.   And the noise, this year, is particularly loud. AI dominates the conversation in ways that create as much anxiety as excitement — especially for federal cybersecurity professionals whose institutional knowledge feels suddenly uncertain. Parisi addresses this head-on: the question isn't just whether AI will replace jobs, it's whether leaders are having honest conversations with their teams about what's changing and why. The fog of marketing has thickened into what he calls a "fog of truth" — a marketplace where it's increasingly hard to know who actually delivers versus who just pitches well.   This conversation is a preview of what Steel Patriot Partners will be listening for, talking about, and connecting around at RSAC 2026 — from retaining trusted people amid AI disruption, to whether tried-and-true solutions still hold their own against the wave of AI-native platforms. Parisi and the SPP team will also be sitting down with Marco and Sean live on the floor for a deeper follow-up conversation.   Loved this conversation? China is continuing to strengthen judicial protection for minors, maintaining a "zero tolerance" stance toward crimes against children while applying a balanced approach combining punishment, education and rehabilitation for juvenile offenders, according to work reports from the nation's top judicial authorities. Zhang Jun, president of the Supreme People's Court, and Ying Yong, prosecutor-general of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, presented their annual work reports on Monday at the fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress, China's top legislature, for deliberation. According to the SPP report, prosecutions for crimes against minors and cases involving juvenile suspects both declined in 2025, falling 2.2 percent and 9.8 percent year-on-year, respectively — the first simultaneous drop in five years. Prosecutors charged 73,000 people last year for crimes infringing on minors' rights. Courts nationwide concluded 40,000 cases involving crimes against minors in 2025, down 1.8 percent from the previous year, and convicted 44,000 offenders.2025年,检察机关对侵害未成年人权益犯罪提起公诉7.3万人。 Courts also barred 1,199 individuals from working in positions involving close contact with minors and imposed the death penalty in extremely serious cases involving severe harm to children. For juvenile offenders, prosecutors continued to apply a policy combining punishment with education and rehabilitation. Prosecutors charged 56,000 minors, while 16,000 juveniles involved in minor offenses who showed remorse were granted conditional nonprosecution. For particularly serious cases, authorities pursued accountability. The provision conditionally lowered the minimum age of criminal responsibility from 14 to 12 for particularly serious violent crimes. The SPC report said that courts continued to apply a balanced approach of strictness and leniency. A 14-year-old student who killed a classmate was sentenced to life imprisonment, while 2,356 juveniles convicted of serious violent crimes received prison terms of more than five years. At the same time, 5,822 minors who committed relatively minor offenses received more lenient punishment. Through a combination of education, rehabilitation and corrective measures, the previously rising trend in juvenile crime has been effectively curbed, the report said. Authorities have also strengthened a coordinated child protection system.

If you're a dental practice owner that truly enjoys the clinical part of dentistry but would prefer not to be involved with many of the other facets of owning a practice you may want to look into a DPG, dental partnership group. DPGs will allow you to take some money off the table by selling a minority ownership in your practice. You remain the majority owner with full autonomy. To tell us all about it is Dr. Weston Spencer, Chief Dental Officer for SPP and a practicing general dentist in La Jolla, CA. In this episode, Chris Mele, CEO of Software Pricing Partners (SPP), dives into why pricing is often the most overlooked yet critical lever in software businesses. He shares how pricing decisions can carry enormous financial impact (he cites an $8.5 million case), why so many companies delegate pricing and treat it as a “black box”, and how turning pricing into a disciplined, data‑driven process can drive profitable growth, not just acquisition. A must‑listen for SaaS leaders who are ready to move from gut feel to clarity in pricing strategy.Guest BioChris Mele is CEO of Software Pricing Partners, a firm founded in 1982 that has pioneered pricing strategy specifically for B2B software companies. softwarepricing.com+2Executive Board | Fast Company+2 Before taking his role at SPP, Chris founded and led a SaaS company through cloud transition and has experience at Ernst & Young and in launching the first online banking solutions in the U.S. Forbes Councils+1 At SPP, he helps software companies build pricing as a repeatable, defendable discipline rather than an afterthought.TakeawaysPricing decisions—even small tweaks—can have massive financial consequences. Chris mentions a decision shift equating to $8.5 million in impact. Many companies treat pricing as a meeting topic (“let's change this discount moment”) rather than a process grounded in data.Frequently pricing is delegated to mid‑level teams (deal desk, Excel jockeys) rather than owned by the CEO or leadership — that delegating weakens accountability and rigour. The absence of clear transaction‑level deal data (net vs list price, discounting patterns, product SKUs) makes it extremely difficult to diagnose pricing leaks. The starting point: get clean deal‑data, understand what you sold, at what list price, discounts, net price, term lengths; this produces “low‑hanging fruit” to fix.Pricing must be treated like product management: continuously iterated, measured, governed — not just set once and forgotten. When done well, pricing becomes a major profit driver and business value creator — many software companies leave enormous value on the table by not treating pricing properly.Chapters00:00 Introduction – Vince welcomes Chris Mele of Software Pricing Partners 00:20 Chris gives background on his firm and how he came to pricing 01:01 The moment he realised pricing was the missing piece (deal closed for 1/10th value) 02:24 Why pricing is so hard: small decisions carry big risk 03:54 Typical scenarios where SPP engages (PE investment, new exec team, profitability focus) 05:18 Why many software companies ignore pricing as discipline 07:42 How pricing decisions are made (executive meetings, delegation, lack of tools) 09:25 The “fear” factor—lack of data, complexity, hidden risks 13:05 How to begin when your pricing is a mess: start with transaction‑level data 16:25 The upside: what happens when you get pricing right 19:08 Example: university dev‑license turned into a $300k per year deal 20:43 How to connect with Chris/Software Pricing PartnersLinkedInFollow Chris Mele on LinkedIn. A čo chcú dokázať vyhláseniami o generálnom štrajku?Braňo Závodský sa rozprával s bývalým ministrom hospodárstva a členom predsedníctva strany Demokrati Karlom Hirmanom.

In this in-depth podcast, we sit down with Prof. Yubaraj Sangroula, former Attorney General of Nepal and a respected legal and geopolitical analyst, to discuss the complex challenges Nepal faces in politics, governance, and foreign policy. Prof. Sangroula begins by analyzing Nepal's geopolitics, explaining how the country's strategic position between global powers has become increasingly fragile. He dives into the impact of foreign alliances, MCC, and SPP, and why Nepal's geopolitical strength has weakened in recent years. The conversation also explores Nepal's constitution and democracy, from the dangers of superseding or repealing the constitution to the implications of parliament dissolutions. Prof. Sangroula highlights the risks posed by unchecked regimes, corruption, and the misuse of state power. We also address the rise of Gen Z protests, the influence of youth movements, and the frustration behind shootings and demonstrations. The discussion includes voting rights for Nepalis abroad, corruption and social media censorship, and alternative political solutions for the presidency and governance. Finally, Prof. Sangroula reflects on Nepal's foreign policy choices, America's renewed interest in Afghanistan, and the importance of strengthening Nepal's sovereignty through smarter geopolitical strategies.

In December 2001, Carrie Simpson sat at her desk on the trading floor of Enron confused, disenchanted, and unsure of what would happen next. A recent college graduate and brand-new power trading analyst at the company, she could barely wrap her head around the news that the power trading giant had just filed for bankruptcy. So she left the world of electricity and became a teacher at her hometown high school just outside of Houston. But she knew she didn't want to be a teacher for the rest of her life. In 2007 Carrie went back to the power sector, and since then has developed deep expertise in the arena of organized electricity markets. Today, as vice president of markets at Southwest Power Pool, she is helping implement SPP's newest offering to the utilities of the American West: Markets+. This week on With Great Power, Carrie explains why utilities in the West are finally ready for more organized power markets; and how Markets+ was designed and is being implemented today. With Great Power is a co-production of GridX and Latitude Studios.Subscribe on Apple, Spotify, or anywhere you get podcasts. Antoine Lucas, Southwest Power Pool's VP of markets, talks with California Energy Markets Associate Editor Abigail Sawyer about waiting for federal approval of Markets+, SPP's day-ahead market offering for load-serving entities in the West. Further regulatory delays could have implications for Markets+, which is in direct competition with the California Independent System Operator's extended day-ahead market. That competition, Lucas says, is good for everyone. Listen to the conversation on the latest episode of NewsData's People in Power.

Kansas, in the heart of America's robust wind belt, has approved a new direct current transmission corridor to help speed the transition to cleaner energy. In this episode of Grid Talk, host Marty Rosenberg talks with Andrew French, the chairman of the Kansas Corporation Commission.“Kansas actually approved a permit for the Grain Belt Express DC line to extend all the way across our state and all the way to Indiana,” said French. It comes at a time of increased demand for energy - particularly non-carbon emitting sources. French acknowledges that navigating the regulatory and permitting process is difficult.“Right now, you're looking at a few years to get new generation online and it's a tough spot. You've got a lot of customers that want power.”“This is a complex industry even for developers that are very sophisticated. As they're developing a wind farm, a solar farm, some other generation source, it's really hard for them to anticipate how much it's going to cost for them to interconnect,” the Kansas regulator said. He's also optimistic about the future.“There are a lot of things moving in the direction of a successful energy transition. There are also a lot of things standing in the way or complications. There is of course, public sentiment that doesn't understand some of the reasons why we may have need to build new infrastructure and transition to different resources.”Andrew J. French was appointed to the KCC in2020. He has served as Chairperson since 2021.French currently serves as the Kansas representative to the Southwest Power Pool and regularly participates in various SPP stakeholder groups. He is also one of 10 state utility regulators selected to serve on the Joint Federal-State Task Force on Electric Transmission formed in 2021.Before his appointment to the KCC, French practiced law with a focus on energy policy and the regulation of utility rates and services. French has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Kansas and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Kansas School of Law.
