Rabbi Dave kicks things off with a surprise medical drama, proving once again that technology may be smart, but it's not very thoughtful. From there, the holy duo turns their gaze skyward as a coronal mass ejection threatens to short-circuit satellites, radios, and perhaps our collective sanity. But fear not—because when the sun acts up, the British roll cheese downhill and call it tradition. We'll unpack the pagan roots of Gloucester's wildest dairy chase, the logic of podcast prep, and why unplanned preaching is theological anarchy. Plus, California politics, Kamala speculation, and a questionable attempt to attract young men to the Democratic Party. It's solar flares, sanctimony, and sharp cheddar. Strap in. This one's a ride.

This episode of SpaceTime explores the recent surge in solar activity, including the largest solar flare of the year and the most intense geomagnetic storm in two decades.Massive Solar Flare and Its ImplicationsWe delve into the details of a powerful X 2.7 class solar flare that erupted from a newly active sunspot region, AR14087. Although the flare was not initially directed towards Earth, its rotation has now positioned it directly in our path. We discuss the mechanics of solar flares, their classification, and the potential impacts of such events on our planet, including disruptions to communication systems, satellite operations, and even power grids. The Gannon Storm: A Historic Geomagnetic EventThe episode highlights the Gannon Storm, a severe geomagnetic storm that struck Earth on May 10, 2024. Coinciding with a space weather exercise, this event caused significant disruptions, including high voltage power line failures and rerouted flights due to radiation exposure. We analyze its effects on the atmosphere, satellites, and even the ionosphere, revealing insights into how such storms can impact modern technology.Ancient Solar Storms and Their Modern ImplicationsIn a fascinating segment, we discuss a groundbreaking study that identifies the strongest solar storm ever recorded, dating back to 12350 BCE. This ancient event, significantly more intense than any modern storm, provides invaluable data for understanding solar activity and its potential risks to contemporary infrastructure.Science Robert: Long Work Hours and Brain ChangesWe also touch on a new study revealing how long working hours could alter brain structures, potentially affecting memory and emotional regulation.Join us as we unpack these cosmic phenomena and their implications for life on Earth and beyond.www.spacetimewithstuartgary.com✍️ Episode ReferencesJournal of Occupational Environmental Medicinehttps://journals.lww.com/joem/Pages/default.aspxBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/spacetime-space-astronomy--2458531/support.00:00 Solar flares are powerful blasts of energy erupting from sunspots10:30 May 2024 was the biggest geomagnetic storm in over 20 years14:29 New study reveals strongest solar event ever recorded, rewriting science on space weather18:23 A new study claims people who work long hours could have altered brain structures

Tetralogue on the Liquid Sun Revolution- Dr. P.M. Robitaille & Jim Keller, DemystifySci #342

Demystifying Science

Play Episode Listen Later May 12, 2025 173:56

What if we're wrong about the sun? Current consensus in the astrophysics community suggests that our planet orbits a burning ball of gaseous plasma - but there's compelling evidence that suggests the sun is actually made out of liquid metallic hydrogen. If this is true, it isn't just that we have a new model of the sun. All of astrophysics, from the Big Bang to the nature of white dwarf stars and neutron stars - will have to be rewritten. For this conversation about the true nature of the sun, we bring together two titans of science and industry. First is Dr. Pierre Marie Robitaille, who is the former director of MRI Research at the Ohio State University, where he designed and tested the world's first 8-Tesla MRI machine. Today, he is the champion of the liquid sun model of stars, which he presents in his formal scientific papers (https://vixra.org/author/pierre-marie_robitaille) and at his @skyscholar YouTube channel. Next is Jim Keller, a computer architect who has been a central player in the silicon revolution at DEC, AMD, Intel, Tesla, and Apple. The study revealed that while tirzepatide improved cardiovascular outcomes and slightly boosted kidney function, the benefits in CKD patients may stem from mechanisms beyond glomerular filtration alone.

Let's Make Fans Matter Again! Welcome to day two of the Great NBA Reset. Jason and Jay Skapinac (aka Skap Attack) dive into potential off-season solutions the NBA could implement to create even more compelling content off the court. The NBA fan base has been completely overlooked. The media, once the voice of the fans, is now treated more like the players. But it's the fans who fuel the NBA engine — never bite the hand that feeds you. Before that, Jason and Skap break down the two play-in games from last night. The Orlando Magic blew out the Atlanta Hawks, with Trae Young getting ejected in dramatic fashion. Meanwhile, Jimmy Butler and Steph Curry delivered the final blow as the Golden State Warriors ended the Memphis Grizzlies' season. Do Orlando and Golden State stand a chance in the first round of the NBA playoffs? In other news, drama follows the WNBA Draft, as TCU point guard and former teammate of Angel Reese Haley Van Lith is selected by the Chicago Sky. Van Lith doesn't seem thrilled about reuniting with Reese. Meanwhile, Rich Paul — LeBron James' longtime friend and agent — joins "The Pat McAfee Show" and reflects on LeBron's Miami Heat days, claiming there was never truly a “Big Three” since Chris Bosh took a backseat role for the team's success. Jason's not alone in rejecting a Stephen A. Smith presidential run — Charles Barkley also gives it a firm “hard no.” And Travis Hunter tells the media he still plans to play both ways heading into the 2025 NFL Draft. Ever have a day at work so bad you wanted to climb, jump, or get sucked out a window? On today's episode:  we answer the question, is 2025 in fact as awful a time to fly as it looks; we'll find out why you've never seen 400 mph wind exfoliation spa before; and we'll compare a commercial airliner to the Titan Submersible that imploded not that long ago.And because you are listening to this as a Patreon supporter, you get to enjoy an additional 8 minutes where we discuss: how a distrust of doctors can make you want to saw off your own fingers; you'd hear this whole jank sitch broken down for Gen Z; you'd learn why you shouldn't melon-ball your eyes out of your head if they get too cold; and we would meet the coldest person to ever live, and her dramatic journey from river corpse to successful radiologist. It's a pleasure to once again be able to present a story of survival so horrific you'd risk permanent sinus damage just listening to it. Not since our William Rankin Weathersode Disaster of 1959 episode have we followed in the footsteps of someone so unassumingly superhuman that they survived unimaginable levels of injury and torture. This episode also acted as double duty, answering the question: is it still safe for me to fly in 2025. We'll talk about the FAA, but we're not talking about politics. The closest I will come is to say it's entirely possible that one day America is run by write-in candidate, Walt Disney's unfrozen head mounted on Abraham Lincoln's animatronic body from the Hall of Presidents. America can do as it pleases. I am simply here to try to keep people safe, regardless on how you feel about the issue. And on that note, I'll keep my opinion safely stored within the episode itself, but spoiler: I think you're going to be okay. All older episodes can be found on any of your favorite channels Apple : https://tinyurl.com/5fnbumdw Spotify : https://tinyurl.com/73tb3uuw IHeartRadio : https://tinyurl.com/vwczpv5j Podchaser : https://tinyurl.com/263kda6w Stitcher : https://tinyurl.com/mcyxt6vw Google : https://tinyurl.com/3fjfxatt Spreaker : https://tinyurl.com/fm5y22su Podchaser : https://tinyurl.com/263kda6w RadioPublic : https://tinyurl.com/w67b4kec PocketCasts. : https://pca.st/ef1165v3 CastBox : https://tinyurl.com/4xjpptdr Breaker. : https://tinyurl.com/4cbpfayt Deezer. : https://tinyurl.com/5nmexvwt Follow us on the socials for moreFacebook : www.facebook.com/doomsdaypodcast Instagram : www.instagram.com/doomsdaypodcast Twitter : www.twitter.com/doomsdaypodcast If you like the idea of your podcast hosts wearing more than duct tape and bits of old Halloween costumes for clothes and can spare a buck or two, you can now buy me a coffee at www.buymeacoffee.com/doomsday or join the patreon at www.funeralkazoo.com/doomsday
