What another amazing weekend, this one though had an interesting twist! Although Pastor Dennis couldn't join us in person due to food poisoning, we had the opportunity to watch one of his recently filmed School of Leadership lessons. He explored how principles from football can relate to life, which is a fascinating perspective. Remember, these insights can apply to all of us, regardless of where we might be in this life!Want to hear more sermons? https://www.experiencechurch.tv/sermonsWant to support the ministry? https://www.experiencechurch.tv/give-nowWant to plan your visit? https://www.experiencechurch.tv/planyourvisit

Luke and Alex dive into the infinity loop of "Loop Hero," a uniquely designed endless RPG by the ingenious minds at Russian studio Four Quarters, and brought to life by Devolver Digital.Set in a post-apocalyptic world that's been wiped out by an evil lich, you, the hero, are on a mission to reconstruct your reality. You're not alone though – you'll encounter survivors who'll either aid your world-building efforts or, in despair, attack you for their own survival. But the plot thickens. The evil lich is merely a puppet. The real villain? None other than God himself, Omega, on a twisted quest for self-destruction. Can you defeat Omega and keep rebuilding in his absence? With a little help from the Goddess of Probability, you might just stand a chance.Gameplay is where "Loop Hero" truly shines. Each expedition is a new journey on a pre-generated path, where you fight slimes, collect landscape cards, and alter the terrain around you. Equip your hero with the spoils of battle, construct new structures back at your base, and choose your path strategically to survive increasingly difficult enemies. The game's development story is a testament to creative ingenuity, born from an idea during a game jam and polished into a gem that caught Devolver Digital's eye. Not without its challenges, the team at Four Quarters focused heavily on game balance to ensure a seamless, engaging experience for players.Critics have showered "Loop Hero" with praise for its unique gameplay, 80's aesthetic, and deck-building mechanics, earning it an impressive score of 82 on Metacritic. It's even been nominated for awards like "Best Independent Game" and "Strategy/Simulation Game of the Year."Join us as we delve into the endless looping adventure of "Loop Hero" – a game that takes you on a hero's journey where the power to shape the world is literally in your hands.Alex primarily played "Loop Hero" on his Xbox Series X and Steam Deck via Game Pass. He also played a little on the PC as well. Luke played the game on his Series Neither host finished the game. IN THIS EPISODE: People are living longer. Almost half of those born today will live to 100. But what does this mean for our future economy? And how does this impact the way we approach our careers and relationships? Thought-leader, writer, and entrepreneur, Avivah Wittenberg-Cox, joins our host, Philip Guarino, to answer these questions and more. Together, in this episode, they break down the new “Four Quarters” of life, and discuss the benefits of starting a new career at 50... and what to think about at 25! Avivah pulls from both her personal experience and her research findings to explain the opportunities brought to companies by the “longevity economy”: from untapped market potential in older demographics, to the growing pool of eligible hires. As an expert in the industry, Avivah is putting pressure on old norms and redefining what it means to be in your prime. Tune in, and find out how to rethink the framework of your career and beyond! The Final Draft Great Conversations podcast is all about books, writing and literary culture. We're dedicated to exploring Australian writing, looking into the issues that drive our storytelling to discover more from the books you love. These are the stories that make us who we are. Shirley Marr is a first-generation Chinese Australian author of young adult and children's fiction, including YA novels Fury and Preloved, and children's novels Little Jiang, A Glasshouse of Stars. In Singapore Peijing understood how everything worked; her Ba-Ba worked hard seven days a week, her Ma-MA worked to raise the family and her Ah-Ma worked at making delicious mooncakes. Peijing and her little sister Biju worked at creating their little world and populating it with animals both real and mythological, and telling fantastic stories about the animals' lives. In Australia things seem upside down to say the least. Ba-Ba now goes to work for only five days and is wearing a polo shirt. Ma-Ma needs Peijing to translate and is not happy that she is not allowed to bring her daughters lunch at school. And Ah-Ma seems confused and is always asking Peijing her name. Peijing must be strong and honorable for her family but that is not always easy when everything is so new. Join me as we discover Shirley Marr's All Four Quarters of the Moon... After all this geography, we find Enoch affirming his observations. In this case, he sections the Earth into Four likely equal quarters which means Enoch knew the approximate size of the Earth long before Eratosthenes, the occultist. Yet, modern science and scholarship ignore the best and most accurate scientific record from before the Flood. The word Intifada (sometimes Intifadah) means uprising. More specifically it means “shaking off,” but uprising is close enough. There were two Intifadas, one in 1987-1993, just called the Intifada. The other is called the Al Aqsa Intifada from 2000 to 2005. These were very different from each other. I have two podcasts on these. One on the Intifada, one on the Al Aqsa Intifada. I wrote two articles on Intifada Death Patterns. One of those, analyzing the first two years of fatalities, is available in Deep Blue. I also wrote a shorter newspaper analysis of deaths during the first Intifada. This was accepted for publication by a Jerusalem newspaper (Al Fajr) but was censored. Israel has two censors, a military censor and a political censor. My article was cleared for publication by the military censors but rejected by the political censors. This is odd because the information I used (individual data about age, gender, day of death, possible cause of death, location of death) was publicly available. I guess having that analysis available in a Palestinian newspaper was seen as too dangerous (although similar analysis was covered in the Israeli press on a regular basis, and Defense Minister Rabin issued similar analyses on a regular basis). As far as I know, I am the only University of Michigan-Dearborn professor who ever had his research officially censored. (I have the draft newspaper article with the censor's mark on it. It is framed and on my wall). There are quite a few terms, places, names, etc. that you might not recognize. Here are some of them (in no particular order). You might read those before you listen. Places: Ecce Homo; Dome of the Rock; Al Quds; Four Quarters; Via Dolorosa; Stations of the Cross; Jabalya, Gaza; Balata camp; Negev Desert; Hebron, Nablus, Jenin; Birzeit University; People: Um Kulthum (famous Egyptian singer); Yitzhak Shamir; Ariel Sharon; Yitzhak Rabin; Yasser Arafat. Other: Lechi/Stern Gang; extra-territorial entity; Status Quo Agreement; kill ratio;, Iron Fist; Hezbollah; Uprising of the Stones; Breaking Bones Policy; Biladi (my land, a song). Note: The kill ratio in the Intifada was 23:1. Sometimes in a lecture someone's brain goes off track and comes up with bizarre numbers. Also Note: Al Aqsa refers to the mosque compound, Al Quds refers to Jerusalem. I might have got that backwards at one point.
