Decoding the Zadokite Calendar PART 3: the Pattern of Intercalation for 2025

Can we ever hope to solve the problem of nearly 2,000 years of calendar wars regarding when to keep the weekly Sabbath and the biblical feasts? In this PART 3 episode of decoding the Dead Sea Scrolls Calendrical Documents belonging to the 24 Zadokite priestly families of 1 Chronicles chapter 24, I will speak with Gina Sparks and Sarah Davis to learn about 18 years of research into the biblical concept of "intercalation." This is a mathematical system to reconcile the divinely timed cycles of the Sun and the Moon and how both testify as two witnesses to the proper doing of the weekly seventh-day Sabbath and all the biblical festivals. The 364-day cycle of the Sun and the 354-day cycle of the Moon each have programmed and assigned time cycles that are governed by the mathematics of intercalation. Appropriately applied in tandem with the precision rotations of the 24 Zadokite priestly families and their assigned schedules from 1 Chronicles 24, this guarantees that the seventh-day weekly Sabbath and all the biblical festivals of the Bible never shift away or drift out from their eternally appointed days and seasons. From all this, we will discover one thing: DO NOT intercalate and add 7 days at the Spring Equinox of 2025 to celebrate the Hebrew Bible's biblical new year on Wednesday, March 26th, 2025. Fresh, irrefutable research will now prove to us from the two witnesses of Heaven and Earth—the Sun and the Moon—that the biblical Hebrew Covenant New Year should be observed on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Learn and discover why this is vital information to know. Thoughts on the episode? Let us know.Sarah Davis was a corporate risk manager who began to chafe at the limitations on her life.Sure, she had a safe job and a comfortable income. She ran marathons (3:38 PR — damn!) and was living the dream in Bondi, Australia. But something was missing. When Sarah interrogated herself, she realized that she wasn't living as big or as bold as she wanted.Did risk management always have to be about minimizing risk at all cost? Or could the principles of risk management inform and guide actual risk taking?Could she use her professional skill set in tandem with her experience in surf sea kayaking and her love of travel and her pursuit of novelty to do something big and bold and amazing? In our conversation, we talk about the life lessons learned as she became the first woman to paddle the Nile River from its headwaters in Rwanda all the way to the Nile Delta in Egypt.I hope you're inspired to step outside of any comfort zones that have got you stuck. By Selva Ozelli It is Plastic Free July. The campaign originated in Australia to draw attention to the global problem of plastic waste, resulting in the world's first Plastic Treaty that is still being negotiated by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee on Plastics Pollution. "The treaty presents a crucial opportunity to tackle plastic pollution from a fresh perspective and adopt innovative problem-solving methods. We are hopeful that the treaty will introduce novel solutions and align policies that have proven effective" explained Betsy Bowers, Executive Director of the Global EPS Sustainability Alliance (GESA). The Impact of Plastic Waste on Nature Plastic pollution is causing serious problems for animals, nature, and people's health. Drawing attention to this are several environmental artists with physical and digital art shows around the world. These artists during the fall will also be part of Climate Week NY's Pink and Blue Art Show held at Howland Cultural Center Beacon, NY from Aug 10 to Sep 29, 2024. 1. Waves & Tides According to a study by Alexander L. Bond , Ian Hutton and Jennifer L. The temporal changes in the amount and composition of plastic in boluses from Flesh-footed Shearwaters during 2002-2020 showed a generally decreasing pattern from 2002 to 2015 and increasing again to 2020 which suggests shearwater boluses to be a low-effort, high-statistical power monitoring tool for quantifying progress against environmental policies in Australia. Are they not doing enough? In recent weeks, families of the hostages and many Israelis have harshly criticized the neutral humanitarian organization for not getting access to the hostages, some of them sick or elderly. As some captives were released by Hamas during a temporary cease-fire, Israelis – who were closely watching the daily releases on television - have started to see the Red Cross's representatives as taxi drivers, who can do nothing more than drive the hostages to the border. In the ancient world, art and religion provided a sense of meaning and order that was upended by science and technology. Today, our world is defined by consumerism, self-expression and a gnawing lack of meaning. Can the contemplative life of the mind play a central role in addressing this void? What about the role of its supposed counterparts—doing, making, and simply being? This episode seeks to untangle the human desire for meaning and coherence, the reality of disorientation and disorder, and the perhaps false dichotomy between the life of the mind and the simple act of living itself. Featuring Santa Fe host Sarah Davis, also an artist, and tutor David McDonald, also a photographer, the two begin their conversation exploring the order and power of harmonic music, stumble into the disorder of Virginia Woolf's The Waves, and eventually find some inspiration in the humble unity of Kierkegaard's knight of faith.

What is the relationship between sports and war? And what is seminar's relationship to both? In this episode, Santa Fe host Sarah Davis and tutor Julie Reahard talk about Reahard's passion for sports, her long-running commitment to the St. John's ice hockey team, and whether her experiences on the court are similar to those that play out on the battlefield of great texts like the Iliad and War and Peace. As the conversation continues, the two stumble across an unexpected connection to sports and war: the competitive instincts that can arise in seminar, in which participants desire to vanquish their ideological opponents; these instincts are common and real, but also stand in tension with the college's dialectical approach to conversation. From conversational cooperation to sportsmanlike competition to brutal war, this episode takes us on a journey through the best and worst of human nature.

“I think with any person's life, there's a lot of joy. As expected with such a significant loss, the grief is layered — touching on identity, memory, connection and the shifting ways we relate to ourselves and our loved one who is no longer with us. On a related front, what is the role of order and disruption in literature, in life, and in our observation of the universe? In this episode, Santa Fe host Sarah Davis and tutor Grant Franks explore the meaning and value of feeling, then launch into a wide-ranging conversation about the ways in which emotion, order, chaos, and discovery seem central to great literature, to world-changing shifts in math and science, and to one's own sense of self and belonging. What is home? Santa Fe tutor Paola Villa, Italian by birth, begins this episode with the Elvis Presley cliché “Home is where the heart is,” and then clarifies to host Sarah Davis that the heart is the crossroads between the stomach and the brain. From there, Villa shares French poet Ponge's poem “Snails,” which describes the way that snails devour the land they cross, defecate on that land, and are fed by that land—all while carrying their homes on their backs. For Villa, this metaphor describes her own journey and conception of home: devouring the food and ideas of a new place, which transform her in return, while remaining deeply Italian. In Villa's native tongue, “to know” and “to taste” have the same root, a reminder that food and mind are one, each mediated through the tongue. And the table, draped in a tablecloth, is what brings one's family and community together—a metaphor that she also ascribes to the St. John's seminar table, where hungry seekers come together in community to devour ideas, and to be devoured in return. This episode, rich in metaphor and poetry, connects gastronomy, language, thought, and community to a theme to which all humans can relate: wanting to know and be at home in the world.

Socrates believed such a community would only be possible if and when humans develop an “erotic zeal for philosophy.” Santa Fe tutor Patricia Greer was a founding pioneer of the intentional community and ecovillage of Auroville, India, where she witnessed first-hand the tension between philosophical ideals that exist in both Eastern and Western philosophy and the political realities that arise when humans attempt to realize them together. "While I never know what it's like to celebrate the holiday season with my aging mother, I've come to appreciate her presence in my life in a way that makes sense to those who savor Christmas, keeping their decorations up long into the new year. She's in my warm, salty tears that still flow at times. She's in the cold autumn fall. When I see the leaves begin to submit to the painting of the forest with radiant acceptance, she's really everywhere I go. I do not need a holiday to remind me of my grief." — Ken Breniman This episode is a departure from the season, but it's also something I felt was coming forward for the holidays that needed to be heard and expressed. “One can only perform at maximum potential when in optimal health. Dr. Mike, has written many books[i], in the field of health, wellness, productivity, and biohacking, that all cover important topics that I know we are all interested in on this podcast. Watch this interview on YouTube here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yY0nOaiQVFc  On this episode we will learn:  ✔ Some of the secrets to Dr. Mike's success as a World Record Holder (swimming). ✔ How he learned to optimize his productivity and focus to achieve higher levels of success/laser focus in school/sports/work. ✔ Why he believes "failure is not an option" and why he doesn't practice one of Michael Phelp's training secrets. ✔ Advice he would offer to anyone looking to make an explosive leap with their results. ✔ How to develop discipline. ✔ The importance of knowing your purpose, and discovering what you are passionate about in life. ✔ The role of dopamine as it relates to focus and concentration. ✔ Forward thinking preventative health and why it's important for everyone to put their health first. Welcome back to The Neuroscience Meets Social and Emotional Learning Podcast where we bridge the gap between theory and practice, with strategies, tools and ideas we can all use immediately, applied to the most current brain research to heighten productivity in our schools, sports environments and modern workplaces. I'm Andrea Samadi and launched this podcast to share how important an understanding of our brain is for our everyday life and results. My vision is to bring the experts to you, share their research, books, ideas and resources to help you to implement their proven strategies, whether you are a teacher working in the classroom or in the corporate environment. As a podcast host, I do come across many people, in different areas of the world, and to stay focused, I do stick to a certain theme each season, or I'd be all over the place with researching guests and questions. For this season, we are focused on brain health as it relates to learning, and I'm looking to show how important an understanding of our brain is, for our results and productivity. When I came across Dr. Mike's work, I didn't even read all of his credentials, as I saw two things that caught my eye. He was the assistant coach and therapist for the Belgian Olympic swim team for the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996. Dr. Mike himself is a current World Record Holder in swimming[ii]. He also holds 28 U.S. National Titles and 2 YMCA National records. He is a proud member of the exclusive WSA – World Sports Alumni, holds a PhD in Holistic Nutrition and is also the Founder of Health Freedom movement. He's a sought-after speaker who has often shared the stage with celebrities who I've met during my time in the motivational speaking industry, like Les Brown, Brian Tracy, and Darren Hardy, owner of Success Magazine. He's also an entrepreneur with vast business experience and a proven track record of establishing and developing successful business operations. Dr. Mike owned several anti-aging clinics in central and northeast Florida and was the CEO of an innovative stem cell clinic, treating top athletes including NFL players and heavyweight boxing champions. Along with his successful career he has managed to be a philanthropist by raising money through many charity events to those who need it most. While I speak often about my time in the motivational speaking industry on this podcast, I haven't mentioned that I spent many of my high school years teaching swimming lessons to pay for my University degree, and would watch these two Belgium swim coaches who would come in every Saturday morning, at the crack of dawn, and run the most incredible swim practices that I've ever seen. They had these kids zipping up and down the lanes. I always wondered what was their secret for success (like the ideas that I'm gathering here now on this podcast years later) and I would often watch these coaches, wondering what they were doing differently from the others. When I saw that Dr. Mike is from Belgium, I wondered where his passion to succeed began. Let's meet Dr. Mike Thielen, where we'll narrow down on some questions for him, based on all of the books he has published, and with his upcoming book, The Keys to Your Success, and see what secrets he will share with us on the importance of our health, our brain, and breaking through to new levels of achievement.   Welcome Dr. Mike Thielen, it's incredible to meet you after I was blown away by all of your credentials while researching your work. Intro Q: Dr. Mike, I like to open with a question that ties all of your work together, and this podcast is focused on providing the most current brain research to optimize results in our school, sport environments, and modern workplaces, I wanted to ask you something that covers all these areas. With all that you've accomplished, it's clear you are doing something different, that has clearly set you apart from the rest. When did you notice you were doing things differently to reach the high levels you have reached (sports and business) and who taught you these important life-success hacks? Intro B: Why is failure not an option for you? Q1: Since most of us see the value in putting our health first these days, especially after the Pandemic, can you share your secret for “how to think faster, move quicker, and become laser focused to become a top athlete?” I know your answer will help all of us with whatever it is we are working on. After reviewing your website, I was moved. It's not often that a person's website can grab your attention, and capture it. I watched your races, and was captivated. You must have incredible retention rates! That aside, I wrote down “failure is not an option” after reviewing your work. What does this phrase mean to you, and how could it help someone going after something important to them this year? Q1B: Was there a recipe you could share for hitting the World Record in swimming? If someone is looking to make a Leap with their results (I'm a huge fan of Price Pritcett's You2 Book[iii]) or an explosive jump in their results, what would you tell them? Q1C: Have you ever focused or visualized on how you would handle failure, like Michael Phelps has been known to do? Q2: The other day, I wrote down the words “focus”  and “disciple” as something to look deeper into. What do you do to improve your focus and get more completed in less time? Q2B:  Where does discipline come in for you? What does this word mean to you? Q3: After 6 years of working in the motivational speaking industry (I did sales for Bob Proctor), my eye was caught with your connection to your time sharing the stage with Les Brown, Brian Tracy, and Darren Hardy, owner of Success Magazine. This industry changed my thinking, and I love meeting people who have had the opportunity to experience the “behind the scenes” that no one gets to see. Can you share a story of a time that changed YOUR thinking while you were speaking and changing others?  Q4: We just did an interview with Friederike Fabritius, whose book, The Brain-Friendly Workplace talks about different brain signatures, and how to use them to optimize our happiness and productivity in the workplace. One of the brain signatures that she mentioned was someone who had a high dopamine neurosignature. It's something I noticed I needed to pay attention to creating as I can only sit and work at my desk after exercise that boosts the chemicals I need to focus. What are some ways (other than exercise) that you know of where we can access the Dopamine in our brain to improve our concentration, motivation and drive with our work, and life? Q5: I'm sure by now most people have seen the movie, Limitless[iv], and I would take a pill if I knew it wouldn't harm my brain, to improve mental focus and physical performance. With over 3 decades working with best optimal health practices, anti-aging and regenerative medicine, sports performance, nutrition and supplementation, and biohacking strategies helping people to regain control of their health, what would you suggest that everyone know in this area of preventative health? Q6: What are you doing with STEM cells that you cover in your book STEM CELLS 101[v] and how could this help people with chronic pain or healing injuries? I'm asking as my husband and I looked at STEM CELLS as a business years ago, but we didn't invest in it. Now I wonder what we missed out on especially as we are aging and have weird pains all over, or even peripheral neuropathy in our hands every morning. What results is your company seeing with STEM cells? 6B: How did you decide which book to write next? Q7: Over the years,  I learned how much of my results are mental. It begins from the minute I open my eyes, to the seconds before I go to sleep. But I've used this training for productivity in the workplace. You've done it in many places, but specifically as an athlete. What percentage of winning as a sports athlete is mental and what percentage is physical? Is it a different formula for each sport? Q8: I'm always looking for tips to improve cognition that leads to improving results. I even went to Amen Clinics to get a brain scan to see what areas of my brain my husband and I could improve in the next 50 years of our lifetime. With your experience as an athlete, coach and business leader, I wonder, how do you think we can improve our ability to think faster, move quicker, and become laser focused, to become the best that we can as an athlete or in the workplace? Q8B: Does what you suggest change if we want to be the best at sales? Or as a coach or teacher? Q9: Is there anything important that I've missed? Your work as Medical Director at ClariGenZ Health or your new book? What are you focused on now? Dr. Mike, I want to thank you very much for taking the time to come on our podcast. I was moved to a whole new level when I watched the videos of you on your website hitting those world records. I think it hit a chord for me because I want everyone to hit their own world record. You've accomplished so much in your lifetime, personally, documented your journey in your books, and I wonder, what else would you like to accomplish? What's next for you? I saw you have a NEW book coming out The Keys to Your Success that focuses on stress reduction. For people who want to reach you, for any of your services, is the best place your website https://mvtonline.com/ Thank you Dr. Mike. I've got quite a book list to complete now, but will read them all, and do appreciate the time you have spent with me here, to help me and our audience reach higher levels with whatever it is we are working on. I hope we all take away many AHA moments from you—including “Failure is not an option.” FINAL THOUGHTS There was a lot to think about for me during this episode with Dr. Mike, and it might be because we just covered Peak Performance with Friederike on our last episode, but I'm always looking for ways we can all move the needle closer towards our goals. If you do want to try his supplement, go to TrySmartPill.com and you can put your address in for a free trial. You would just need to pay $4.99 for shipping. I am not an affiliate for this product and just a reminder to always consult your doctor when trying anything new. We are not medical doctors offering advice, but sharing what is working for others. I do plan to try the supplement myself as writing these episodes each week doesn't seem to be getting easier as I'm getting older. I'm pretty clear on what breaks my focus, so to keep producing episodes that are helpful, meaningful and useful to you, I'll try anything to give me that edge. I'll do a follow up later down the line on this episode. If you do want to reach out to Dr. Mike and take him up on a 20 minute zoom session, you can find that link on the home page of his website. The incredible part of doing these podcasts, is that I feel like I'm getting free coaching, learning valuable life lessons and information, and then I share it with you, wherever you live in the world. Then it's up to you if you want to dive deeper into the work of the guests I share. Next week, I'll be speaking with someone who is known as “the most disciplined man in Germany” who found our podcast on YouTube, and we've connected as his work and pathway in life, closely connects with mine. He's just running 4 businesses globally, but the insights he will share on our interview, will take all of our thinking to new heights, revealing many of the secrets we've both learned over the years, that have shaped our lives and careers in different ways. We can now show how these success secrets are backed by science. And with that in mind, have a good weekend, and will see you next week.   MORE ABOUT DR. What the heck is human-centered and data driven design, and how can it help you in your interior design business? Chrissy Fehan and Sarah Davis of Pophouse are here to fill us in on the importance of designing space with a human-centered perspective, and how the physical environment can have a positive impact on individuals. They'll also share how this approach informed the Rock Ventures Headquarters, recently featured and on the cover of Interior Design magazine's 90th anniversary edition. Sarah has over 17 years of experience working in business intelligence. She has performed extensive research in workplace strategy and has been instrumental in developing the strategy that informs the design for many Pophouse projects. Chrissy leads an interiors and industrial design team and oversees all brand strategy. Prior to her current role, Chrissy was an industrial designer and created numerous pieces of furniture, lighting, reception desks and outdoor spaces. *** ⭐️Chrissy and Sarah pride themselves on doing unconventional strategic and human-centered design. They use different types of evidence obtained from clients via interviews, surveys, and observations to understand how clients need to function in space. This combined with external research is used to drive their design. They believe spaces can positively impact people - how they interact, how they engage with each other. The space needs to be beautiful and aesthetically thoughtful, but if people can't function in this space, it misses the mark. Chrissy and Sarah work to bring beauty and function together. ⭐️Pophouse thrives on a particular set of systems and processes that can be catered to different clients. The process usually begins with data collection, including client surveys and observation. Pophouse has also created mock settings for clients to utilize, and led focus groups. Talking to their clients in this manner helps gather feedback, which the clients are very willing to give because they care about the space they're sitting in. To learn more about the teams they design for, Chrissy and Sarah gather information such as org charts, cultural documents, mission statements, core values, and more. They pair these internal findings with external discovery like benchmarking, research, and academic work. All of this information serves as the foundation for the design project and ultimately acts as a North Star to follow for the duration of the project. ⭐️Chrissy says that niching down their business has helped Pophouse in many ways. It has allowed them to bring on the proper team members that they need, and to grow their business. They are better able to see their future goals and pivot them around their clients' needs. It's helped them laser focus more - they aren't stretched between many different types of design. Niching down has also helped Pophouse more thoughtfully select their clients and make sure their cultures align. Sarah explains that, even when niching down their business, there is still lots of diversity within the commercial office design space. Whether they're designing a commercial office for a tech team, a marketing team, or a sales team, they all look totally different as the needs for each team vary. Chrissy explains that the scale of projects differs as well. Sometimes they take projects where they help a smaller client's brand be visualized through their space. ***

He came in like a flash of lightning and then was gone, but along the way a NASCAR racer named Buckshot Jones made quite the name for himself. Dale Earnhardt Jr. and co-host Mike Davis sit down with the mysterious and controversial racer. Buckshot wasn't always known by his colorful name, and his real name had a sense of toughness as well. From the farms of Georgia sprouted a teenager with the desire to race. His self-made father helped pave the way with a plan as unique as his son's brand. His first car may have been a dusty barn find, but soon Jones was at the pinnacle of the NASCAR ranks in the Cup Series. As you could guess with a name like Buckshot, he got a lot of attention along the way. The Georgia boy moved to South Carolina to take lessons from a successful crew chief and his legendary father. From Darlington tips to shooting quarters, David Pearson taught the young driver some valuable lessons. Souvenir sales and on-track success were often rivaled by controversy. Keeping up with the NASCAR rap-sheet of the aggressive Jones became a challenge for some. We find out the real story of what started his rivalry with Randy LaJoie. Let's just say it all started in a hotel parking lot. The headlines of their tangles in some ways defined the career of Jones, who wouldn't back down from even a seasoned Champion such as LaJoie. Dale Jr. and Buckshot even hash out the wreck at Daytona, that pissed off Dick Trickle and sent the young Earnhardt on his roof during his first race at Daytona. Speaking of Earnhardts, even Dale Sr. wasn't pleased with Jones. But this time, Buckshot was quick to point out that the Intimidation was real. After a few years, poof, it was over. No double-zero car. No six-shooter logo. Where did Buckshot go? The Download finds out...Before Buckshot's arrival to the studio, Dale comes clean about who America's Crew Chief really is and what caused the chatter between the NBC booth boys and some broadcasters at Fox. Once that is solved, we learn that Mike Davis has a problem that needed solving. It involved a wet carpet, an angry wife, and unwanted videotaping. Dale and the DJD gang offer their advice to getting back on the good side of Sarah Davis. The day before the podcast, Dale Jr.'s curiosity led him to ask fans about his Peacock TV show Lost Speedways. Hear what they have to say and his challenge for this week at Daytona.Speaking of fans... they bring the heat this week with questions for the two-time Daytona 500 Champion. Dale Jr. admits to a few cheat fails during his time racing Late Models in this week's AskJr presented by Xfinity. Dale addresses rumors of NASCAR at the Los Angeles Coliseum and talks about the resurgence of AJ Almendinger in the Xfinity Series. That and much more on the Dale Jr. Download.
