In this episode of B2B Marketing: The Provocative Truth, Benedict speaks with Karen Sage how businesses can go further with establishing their brand.Businesses understand that it's important to have an identity that their customers align with, but quite often, their priorities are about generating revenue as quickly as possible and disregard brand. Because of this, brand often becomes generic so as to appeal to as many people as possible. But it is proven over and over again how a unique brand that stands for something actually drives growth long term and brings your ideal customer to you sooner. So the question becomes, why aren't companies doing more? What is stopping them from ensuring their long-term success?Karen Sage is the CMO of Shipwell, and she is a hands-on leader who has used her “out-of-the-box” strategies to strongly deliver to revenue. Prior to joining Shipwell last year, Karen has served as CMO of Syncron, CMO of Transplace, CMO of MercuryGate International, and many other senior marketing roles. In addition to her role at Shipwell, Karen also serves as an Advisory Board Member for Service Council and as a Member at HYPCCCYCL.You can find Karen Sage on Linkedin. You can watch full video versions of the podcast on our YouTube channel.Ready to provoke the truth? The Disney+ Marvel series have been hit or miss. When they are good (WandaVision) they use their extended runtime to experiment with concepts and formats, expanding and developing characters in ways impossible within the limits of a film. When they are bad (Falcon and the Winter Soldier) they flail about wasting time while underutilizing established characters. Secret Invasion the most recent MCU series, manages to kill two characters, completely discredit another, and dismiss any notion that its protagonist, Nick Fury, is in any way effectual, or even interesting. Meanwhile in the distant future Star Trek Strange New Worlds continues to push the boundaries of space, time, format and genre proving that, 50 plus years down the line, there are still places to boldly go. These also the usual Random Topics and a new segment Dave came up with to test his own generalizations. Thanks for Listening!

Harry's guests this week are Sri Kosaraju, the CEO of Inscripta, and Richard Fox, a former Inscripta scientist who just rejoined the company as its SVP of Synthetic Biology. In reabsorbing Infinome—the Inscripta spinout Fox described to Harry in a spring 2021 episode of the show—Inscripta is placing a big bet on biomanufacturing, the creation and fermentation of genetically customized microbes that can pump out medical, agricultural, and nutraceutical products, and more. Inscripta had previously focused on a benchtop "bio-foundry" machine called Onyx that that makes programmed edits to bacterial or yeast cells at thousands of different points in their genome in parallel. Now it's pivoting away from selling the machine and instead focusing on becoming a power user of its own technology. Its ultimate plan is market multiple biomanufactured products, starting with a synthetic form of bakuchiol, an alternative to the anti-aging compound retinol. For a full transcript of this episode, please visit our episode page at http://www.glorikian.com/podcast Please rate and review The Harry Glorikian Show on Apple Podcasts! We are Going Boldly into season 7 and talking all about boundaries and embracing our power this week. Setting boundaries with ourselves can change the way in which we look at the world, but even more importantly it can change how we feel about ourselves. Once we learn to listen to our inner voice, hear and tend to our needs without judgment or shame we begin to build healthy stable boundaries around our lives. Those boundaries set the stage for how we can embrace our power in a meaningful and lasting manner. The purpose behind building those boundaries is to create that lasting relationship with the honest version of yourself, and in order to do that you have to take the time to get to know that person. Healthy boundaries around who you are, who you want to be, what values and morals you hold, what you are willing to do all serve to build that foundation. Over time as you continue to grow and develop that person and those boundaries in an intentional manner, you can expand them out to include other people. Those boundaries with other people then set the stage for how you are willing to, and expect to, be treated by others and by the Universe at large. Putting those expectations out into the universe is a part of setting forth on your path in life. The clearer you can be around what you are willing and unwilling to accept the better off you will be. Weak and unhealthy boundaries will often cause you to give away or diminish your own power, rather than embrace it as we are meant to. Tune in to our full episode to learn more about how setting boundaries will help you embrace your power and potential.GO BOLDLY HOMEWORKJournal: Take time to reflect on your relationships as they are right now. Those you have with yourself, your family, your work colleagues, friends etc.Make a list of the 5 most important relationships you have (your relationship with you should be at the top) Then make a list, or brainstorm, or freewrite how those relationships are working, could be better, or have changed over time. Check out our Defining You course!  It is going to be an excellent guidepost this whole season. We launched our Go Boldly Together Circle this week and we would LOVE to have you join us.  RESOURCES MENTIONED IN THE SHOW CONNECT WITH RIELLY AND TOVAHInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/goboldlytogether/Website: www.goboldlyinitiative.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/Go-Boldly-Together-105942584706928LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/company/go-boldly-initiativeYouTube: http://bit.ly/boldlyyoutubePinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/GoBoldlyTogether/_saved/Twitter: https://twitter.com/goboldlypodcastPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/wegoboldly

This is true for our guest in Episode 44. Shelby Chargin realized that her unfortunate experience is shared by many other women and gender-diverse people who are trying to prosper in the music industry. And what was Shelby inspired to do? She founded Girls Behind The Rock Show (GBTRS)!From the website: “GBTRS is the largest online platform and resource for women and gender-nonconforming people in the music industry. We were founded on the principle of identifying and breaking down barriers for marginalized genders in music. We are dedicated to helping artists and bands drive empowerment and diversity in productive and positive ways, and promoting these initiatives throughout the culture of the music scene. Can you guess what it is?John freely expresses gratitude for the blessings and opportunities he and his family have and it is very evident throughout our interview. When entrepreneurs realize all they do have, they are usually able to serve others in a more complete way. John is no exception and prides himself on delivering great service for his company's clients and also on serving his larger community.John also displays the work ethic that most immigrant families relied on to get a foothold in a new country. A child of immigrants, he was born shortly after his parents arrived from Vietnam. He grew up with the bare necessities and started Going Boldly at a very early age-helping his family's finances by delivering newspapers before school. (Anyone remember what those were?)Even though times were tough for John's family, he is very lucky that his parents, his mom in particular, instilled such great values in him. John speaks fondly of watching his mom support other immigrants and also about his trip back to Vietnam where his mom reunited with friends and family decades after leaving. This episode presents to you, the new business owner or aspiring entrepreneur, a fellow entrepreneur who can serve as inspiration for you as you work to discover your own source of internal motivation while you navigate the business world. Michael Brunker is no exception. His was a beginning that except for a stroke of luck, (or divine intervention), would have kept him on a path without much opportunity. But a path to college and beyond saw him as an assistant coach for college basketball and for the Detroit Pistons. He has been the Executive Director and the V.P. for Mission Advancement of the mammoth Jackie Robinson Family YMCA in San Diego, even named as Mr. San Diego.Michael's friends and close supporters include Dick Vitale, (yes, That Dick Vitale of ESPN), Ken Blanchard, Dick Lane and many others. If you can use a role model and an example of how to live a life of service, you will find much to keep your attention. Michael demonstrates his values and commitment to others through his actions and life choices, not the least of which is in his current role as CEO of The Third Option City. Based on the teachings and the book by Miles McPherson, pastor of the Rock Church in San Diego and former San Diego Chargers Cornerback. The Third Option City is a movement that is healing racial divides as it promotes and educates us to honor what we have in common- our similarities, while we celebrate our diversity. Michael explains more including mentioning some famous people in our history who embodied these values in their lives and in their communities. This week, we kick off Season 2 of The Power Project & I am so excited about what is to come! Thank you to all of our supporters of Season 1. We promise that we're only getting better from here! And, our mission will always be to inspire you to go out and lead purpose filled lives while owning your God-given Power. I had the pleasure of interviewing my real life friend, Jessica Brinkley about her spiritual growth journey, life as a preacher's kid, and how to heal your heart in Jesus. She chats college, breakups, being called to purpose, God radically revealing himself to her, and how she had to listen closely to God's voice for her spiritual and physical health. She shares with us how she was called to fight human trafficking at a young age and has not let fear stand in her way of speaking out about the injustices. Jessica shares with us about her recent travels to Cambodia and Thailand, her work on the ground there, and what it looks like to be like Christ to to others, but not force Christ on anyone. This lady is the gold standard of walking in purpose as a young single daughter of God. I know you're going to love her. You can find Jessica on IG at www.instagram.com/jessicaclairebrinkley Launch dates for her upcoming books as well as inspirational blog can be found at www.jessicaclairebrinkley.com Have you written a review yet? In the enterprise, transformational, imaginative, innovative, all of those different areas mean that you don't get handcuffed by the tools, the processes, the achievements that have come before.
