Fifteen Minute Fridays episode #30 with Joe Villegas. We all have an inner world that is sometimes hard to see because we are so busy with our outer world. It is important to connect with your inner world in order to create a better outer world. Our outer world is a reflection of what we carry inside of us. Having a better outer world becomes hard if our inner world is not in order. If you want more abundance and more fun in your outer world, it all begins with the inner work you do for yourself. So what can we do to have a better outer life? Find out how you can work on your inner world to have a better outer world in today's episode with Joe Villegas, a health & wellness coach, and the owner of Paragon Well-Being. When we think of our goals, we think of what we want to accomplish and what we want to change. We must work on our inner world to achieve these goals. We should put ourselves around the people who are doing the things that we want to do so that we can understand what they are like and the sort of things they do. The only thing you can control is how you differentiate in what you do. It's hard to differentiate with what you offer, but you can differentiate in how you do it and why you do it. ~ [11:54] ~ Referred customers are more valuable to you than the traditionally acquired customer. They stay longer. They spend more money, twice the amount of money as traditional customers, and since they have been referred themselves, they refer up to twice the number over their lifetime. ~ [23:11] ~On time is a myth, people in life are either early or they are late. No one is ever just on time and the same thing applies to the customers we serve each and every day. No one has ever just exactly met the expectations of a customers they serve. We either exceed the expectations or fall short. This gives the choice of doing a little more or a little less. ~ [26:58] ~70% of people buy based on experience, 30% buy solely buy based on price. Given a choice, never compete based on price. It's a race to the bottom. Provide something that makes you different from all of your competition and give your people a reason to talk about you ~ [32:33] ~People make a decision very quickly when visiting an establishment or starting a new job, whether or not they will come back and stay for the long term. How you manage that first impression is key, and before somebody walks out the door, logs off your sight, or hangs on the phone, how you manage that last impression is key. ~ [44:20] ~Every weakness has a corresponding strength to it, but we tend to try to fit in and live by the norms of our industry or where we live. A lot of times, by conforming, we try to correct the things that are unique about us to fit in. What makes us weird, unique, and different is truly what makes us wonderful. ~ [49:05] ~Your brand today is no longer what you tell people it's. It's the differentiated experience your employees deliver, it's what you stand for, how your customers feel, and most importantly, your brand is what your customers and employees tell others about their experience. ~ [52:41] ---- LST is powered by www.balbertmarketing.com

[05:58] - In venture capital, the chance of closing a deal on the first meeting is very small. But on the second meeting, there is a decent chance of closing a deal if, between the first meeting and the second meeting, you get them everything they need to make a decision. [06:27] - Every meeting you take after the third meeting, the chance of closing the deal starts to decline. [09:19] - When you are doing all the talking, you are not gathering the information you need to make an intelligent decision. [10:26] Sin City Cupcakes [13:43] How Lisa builds and maintains effective business relationships [17:50] The Veteran Fund and why it's a for-profit venture capital fund [26:53] The importance of mindfulness in an entrepreneur's life [34:26] Why ladies who have been in bottle service become successful when they venture into business in a different industry [37:36] How to build your resilience [43:03] Lisa's long-term vision [44:46] The main focus of the Real Rich Women and the importance of financial security [46:44] Lisa's advice to anyone who feels like they are losing themselves [48:13] How to connect with Lisa Song Sutton [48:47] Rapid Fire Round Key Takeaways: Just because you start with whatever you got your degree in doesn't mean you have to stay in it for the next forty years. It also doesn't mean your time in it was a waste of time because you can leverage the resources, knowledge, and sphere you build in your next venture. [09:13] The whole idea of networking happy hour is a little antiquated in that you don't have to spill your guts to somebody the first time you meet them and tell them all the things you do in hopes that there is a relationship that can start there. Instead, focus on establishing commonality and getting to know each other from there. [14:55] Entrepreneurship is the best way to empower anyone or any community.[17:18] “If you are used to placing yourself in uncomfortable situations at your own doing, you will have the mental stability to deal with it when it comes from an external place.” ~Lisa Song Sutton [41:55] “The more resources you have and the more blessings you have, you should be paying that forward.” ~Lisa Song Sutton [43:48] If you don't have financial security, you are seeking it in turn. And sometimes you find it in your significant other. The crazy part about that is that you lose yourself because you now have to conform to that person's preferences in exchange for security. Fifteen Minute Friday #23. In this episode, award-winning comedian & keynote speaker Jenn Lederer explores the delicate balance between being present and open. She delves into why finding this balance is crucial for personal growth, as being open and vulnerable frees us from self and others' judgments, enabling greater creativity. Jenn shares her insights on how this practice has personally impacted her. Quote Of The Day: “There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium; and be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, not how it compares with other expression. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you.” ~ Martha Graham Timestamp: [00:31] Know our guest; Jenn Lederer [02:08] Quote of the day: “There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium; and be lost. Learn Speak Teach Episode 55 with Carla Fowler. Watch the full episode: https://youtu.be/yyr8s3OUWaA We often dismiss mental clarity as a luxury we can't afford, but when we are clear-headed, we can solve problems, make decisions and confidently lead our teams. As human beings, we remember the beginnings and the endings more than we remember what happened in between. [14:13] ~ In coaching, particularly for people who're leading or growing a business or on a deadline for results that are required, they don't want to wait six months of coaching to feel like they are making progress. Usually, by the time someone wants to go get a coach, they are ready to have the results yesterday. [16:52] ~ When we have mental clarity, it actually solves a lot of problems that might not on the surface seem connected. [22:24] ~ “We have influence, but we can't start to influence things until we actually know what we want and how we want to influence it.” [26:17] ~ Very few things are gained in a day, particularly if you're building a skillset or something that really matters. I often think about compounding. The idea of investing effort over time. It's not going to be won in a day, but I know if I start today, when I look back a year from now, I'll be in an entirely different place because of the efforts I started today. [36:22] ~ Getting started is critical, and starting at a level that doesn't immediately turn you off. Once you get started you have to figure out how to keep going. [41:58] How to connect with Jeff [42:50] What would Pawpaw do? [48:10] Rapid Fire Round [51:23] Episode Conclusion Key Takeaways: ~ Hard work and perseverance are what will get you ahead in life; problem solvers rule the world. Golden Rule: treat people the way you want to be treated. Platinum Rule: If you treat people better than they expected you to treat them, it will not only benefit them, but it will also benefit you along the way. ~ [05:08] ~ When we show up in conversations because our brains are wired for self-preservation, we communicate from our highest training, knowledge and experience because we don't want to come across as not credible. So, we tap into the things we think we're the smartest and most knowledgable about, which tend to be the things that are us-driven and our agenda. In sales, these tend to be the things we've been training the most on, which are our product facts, features, figures and benefits. They activate the analytical network of the person receiving the information, which triggers the evaluation, comparison, analysis, skepticism, judgement and reverence, which puts us in a defensive posture. You've to bypass the analytical network to activate the emotional network to build things like personal trust, authenticity, honesty, vulnerability and all the things that connect us as humans. Once that is established in the brain, it opens up the analytical network to think about what we're saying in a different lens, look for reasons to support what we're saying and do business with us. ~ [16:59] It is about what they care about, not what you care about. ~ [32:31] ~You don't have to be right; you just have to be prepared… Give your prospect a story and ask them to react, give them a problem and ask them to react. ~ [37:50] ---- LST is powered by www.balbertmarketing.com

However, as leaders, we have to look at it because it cannot hurt more than the first time you stare at your defeat, failure, or mishap. [12:54] Never change what you are great at. Go ahead and do what you are great at, and let whoever notices you make modifications afterward. [15:02] “When you don't know what to do, simply live right.” ~ Andre Young [15:46] Caring for your people means you are curious enough to know what they need and have the intuition to follow through with unpopular decisions. [31:28] If you want to make great decisions in times of crisis, know your vision and vision factors. [38:18 ] “Once you have a foundation of what you stand for, what you know is needed, and what you know works, it's easier to make decisions.” ~ Andre Young [42:04] People Mentioned and Other Resources: Updates on Damar Hamlin: https://www.cnn.com/us/live-news/damar-hamlin-buffalo-bills-update-01-05-23/index.html 7 Ways to Lead by Andre Young: https://www.amazon.com/Ways-Lead-Professionally-Personally-Leadership/dp/1631950916 The Leader's Toolbox by Andre Young: https://www.amazon.com/Leaders-Toolbox-EVOLVE-Leadership-leading/dp/1631959239 - Keep In Touch with Andre Young: Website: https://youevolvingnow.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/youevolvingnow/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/youevolvingnow/?hl=en Twitter: https://twitter.com/dremenandwomen Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MenEvolvingNow/ — Follow Balbert… Facebook www.facebook.com/realbusinessconnections Instagram: www.instagram.com/realbenalbert/ LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/balbertmarkting Website: https://www.realbusinessconnections.com/ – LST is made possible by www://balbertmarketing.com/

[13:04] An example of a business that has the massive goldfish differentiation [18:23] Stan's background [27:38] Value-based techniques to differentiate [33:22] Purple, Green, and Gold Goldfish [35:20] Case study on the impact of doing a little something extra on sales [44:54] “The pick-end rule” [46:25] Ben's biggest takeaway from reading Pink Goldfish [48:40] Flawesomeness [52:01] What Stan is working on right now and how we can support him [53:14] How to reach out, connect, and learn more about Stan [52:43] Homework: How to start owning your flaws to be different and unique [54:55] Final Thoughts Key Takeaways: ~ No one has control over their market, their competition, let alone the economy.

Focus on how you are telling your story and describing your level of expertise. ~ [17:35] ~ The best content creators on the planet make their subject matter interesting to the general person, get them to care enough to stop and watch. ~ [19:07] ~ Don't focus on doing a lot of CTAs within the content you're producing; focus on building brand loyalty and credibility with the stories that you are telling that correlate with your brand. ~ [25:33] ~ Paid marketing can be very effective as it allows you to retarget the people that view your organic content with more direct response type ads. ~ [27:30] ~ You have to learn how to communicate to this world effectively and if you don't take time and energy, you may get some early wins, but you won't know to reproduce it. ~ [38:02] It's not that people have micro-attention or they won't tune in for long periods of time, but because there are 4 billion creators in the planet and we need to stand out, grab attention in a way that sets clear expectations that your perspective is valuable, interesting or different than everybody else. ~ [40:29] -- LST is powered by www.balbertmarketing.com
