And it hurts like hell! Everyone needs to be talking about periods and have an understanding of what's actually happening to 50% of the population. After diagnosis, Lauren didn't want to talk about it at all. She would have ignored the pain forever but her body simply wouldn't let her. Her husband, a scientist, decided to create supplements to ease her pain. Semaine's supplements are plant-based, safe, and only need to be taken when they are on their cycle. There is a massive inequity in women's health across the world. It's so important to listen to your body and be patient. Semaine was well-received by almost everyone as it served a community of people who suffer from period-related issues. Transitioning into peri-menopause, menopause, and post-menopause because a focus as women grew older and need a different type of support. Semaine Health offers supplements that support women, non-binary and trans folks with PMS and period support, daily hormone balance, menopause essentials, urinary tract support, pre and probiotic for gut health. I came across a teacher online who was doing some fantastic SEL exercises with his students and posting them online…I had to have him on as a guest to learn more! Scott Todnem is the author of “Growing Up Great! The Ultimate Puberty Book for Boys” and “Sex Education: A Parent's Guide.” Scott has been teaching Health Education at the middle school level since 2001 and was awarded the 2019 National Health Teacher of the Year. He uses his platforms to promote cultural diversity, gender inclusivity, mental health awareness, and suicide prevention. Scott is a nationally-recognized presenter and travels to speak about mental health and the benefits of quality health education programs. Scott enjoys adding to the Health Class experience by hosting a YouTube channel and a Podcast with his students, both of which can be found at LifeIsTheFuture.com. Scott currently resides in Illinois with his family, where he enjoys reading, record collecting, and watching great movies. Additional writing and other content can be found on his website, LifeIsTheFuture.com. Today on the show, Scott talks to us about how he emphasizes meaningful, as well as memorable activities for his students. Even the physical placement of desks and furniture in his classroom is designed to encourage more social interaction. When Scott is active as a learner himself, he finds that his lessons are that much more engaging and interesting. Mr. Todnem also has a podcast created and hosted by the students of his class as a way to open up even more about the SEL exercises they took part in, as well as discuss everyday challenges they are dealing with as a middle schooler. Lastly, we talked about how important self awareness is to the success of a student. Scott feels that self awareness is definitely the million dollar question! I'm not sure when a woman's normal life became “awkward” to talk about but we're changing the narrative. We're taking it back to health class and actually learning something this time. For those that menstruate, our cycle can just feel like a burden if we're in the dark about how to use each phase to our advantage. Let's take back our day to day lives and be open about how our hormones affect us regularly.

It's nothing but trumpets and fiesta for Cousin Sal as he plays and trumpets for Edwin Diaz's walkout music. Diaz is (100/1) for the Cy Young, can you consider him after 40 saves? A look at MLB as the Mets take 4 of 5 from Braves. Diaz Yankees (lost 5 in a row) swept by Cardinals who are now in first place and the Dodgers pummel the Padres. Yankees and Dodgers have the same WS odds (+360). Which ticket would you rather be holding? Tuesday picks from the trio as Sal likes the Yanks/Mariners over 7.5 (-114) and Parlay Kid just likes the Yankees to get the win. Bro Bri has a same game parlay with Alonso and Lindor. Of course, Harry had a Betache out the gate in the Hall of Fame game, which he watched intensely vs last year's Super Bowl. Blue Jays got Bro Bri feeling blue. Kareem Hunt requests trade: Cleveland Browns deny his request, is there any team that would make sense for him? Then a deep dive into Nick Chubb's odds for most rushing yards as well as his rushing and TD totals. Harry's car-aches and a listener sends in a letter of support to AAO's Health and Sexuality expert, Parlay Kid.

Welcome back to Wandering Yogi Podcast! In this episode, I'm thrilled to welcome on my guest, Laurel Odom. This episode is packed with amazing insight! Laurel shares a feminine and embodied perspective to the teachings of yoga, Ayurveda, and Tantra. We talk about where typical Western sexual education falls short, and where sexuality has a place in the world of yoga (hint: celibacy isn't the only option!). Laurel invites us all to get into our bodies to embrace pleasure, get clear on your 'yes' and 'no', and tap into the power of your womb. Plus, she and I touch on the transformation that is available both individually and collectively at this time, seasonal Ayurveda and the energetics of autumn, and Laurel's own morning routine for embodying the feminine. We kick off season 3, and I sit down with Trevor Harris, host of the “Your Health Class” podcast. Trevor shares his health journey and what inspired him to start the podcast. He was experiencing heart palpitations at the age of 16, eating three bowls of cereal a day and learned how he could take control of his health through small changes which have affected significant changes in his life over time. Among other things, we talk about how to move from a mentality where you're at the mercy of the world to one where you start to take control of your life and health.
