In COLD WALLET, a trio of Redditors (Raul Castillo, Tony Cavalaro, Melonie Diaz) take it upon themselves to make a crypto influencer (Josh Brener) pay for tanking the coin, freezing user assets and suddenly demanding they owe the app almost double what they paid to get to said position. Their plan? Find the influencer, steal his cold wallet drives that store ALL his crypto balances and let them loose into the wild for any victim to reclaim. It's a Robin Hood deal. But the mind games have only just begun and the danger of getting caught or - worse - only grows.I'm not a big crypto head but you don't need all the knowledge to follow COLD WALLET. It works best as a pulpy home invasion thriller with a change in perspective. It's best to know these folks aren't, in any way, professional burglars. The results make for some funny setups. COLD WALLET is playing in select theaters and available to stream on VOD.---Please rate, review & subscribe to The Movies wherever you listen to podcasts!Follow The Movies on Instagram & Bluesky: linktr.ee/themovies_pod
Today on The Movies, I got a double-interview episode! I interviewed the director and actors from COLD WALLET, a new crypto thriller about a group of Redditors looking for revenge against the influencer responsible for scamming them out of a "life savings" level of money. They break into the influencer's home in pursuit of his cold wallet, a USB drive that holds millions of dollars in crypto, with a goal to return the funds back to every fellow victim.First round goes to actors Raul Castillo and Melonie Diaz, who discuss their preparation time, nailing ineptitude as a performer and how surprisingly kind Octavia Spencer is.Second round goes to director Cutter Hodierne and actor Josh Brener, who discuss the kind of character prep built less from the script and more from directorial conversations, the images serving as guiding light for the project and how they affect the movie's overall visual language.COLD WALLET is playing in select theaters and available to stream on VOD.---Please rate, review and subscribe to The Movies wherever you listen to your podcasts!Follow The Movies on Instagram and Bluesky: linktr.ee/themovies_pod
I had a great time interviewing star Josh Brener and director Cutter Hodierne for this film. It's a fun film, a new take on a heist film in the crypto world, with a fantastic cast, great storyline and is well directed. Check out Cold Wallet this Friday on VOD or in a theater near you. The synopsis of the film is…After losing everything in a cryptocurrency scam, a ragtag team of vigilante Redditors tries to kidnap the kingpin who ruined their lives. However, when the home invasion takes a turn for the worse, they find themselves victims in a sadistic game.Hot Buttered Rum (thespruceeats.com):Ingredients 2 teaspoons packed brown sugar 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened 1 splash pure vanilla extract 1 dash ground cinnamon 1 dash ground nutmeg 1 dash ground allspice 2 ounces dark rum 4 ounces hot water Cinnamon stick, for garnishDirections Place the sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and spices into the bottom of an Irish coffee glass or mug and mix well or muddle. Pour in the rum and top it with hot water. Stir and garnish with a cinnamon stick. Serve and enjoy.Cold Wallet Drinking Game:Drink when… you see snow or a bitter landscape. you see an animal head. you see an archaic weapon. the crypto (TULIP) goes up or down. someone looks at their phone screen. As always, drink responsibly and with others. Welcome to the SKS Acting Podcast, Where Working Actors Talk. This week Colleen Foy chats with one of my favorite people of all time and a former SKS teacher Josh Brener. Josh is one of the most talented actors I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and with over 70 IMDB credits, he is a wealth of knowledge in the entertainment industry. We hear how he prepped for some of the biggest auditions of his career, the importance of trusting you're enough as an actor, his thoughts on self tapes vs in person auditions… and how he handles the inevitable disappointments that every actor faces. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO HEAR: 2:31 Josh's origin story. Why he got into acting and why he decided to move to LA. 4:32 How Josh got his first acting agent and his SAG card and booking his first series regular on GLORY DAYS. 7:55 His audition process for THE INTERNSHIP - how he prepped for his chemistry read with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, while also being in consideration for WE'RE THE MILLERS and prepping to chemistry read with Jason Sudeikis. 15:43 When and how to use improv and "scripted' ad libs in auditions. 18:06 The importance of preparation and rehearsing under duress. "Play how you practice and practice how you play" - How the SKS style of teaching got him ready for these high stake situations. 21:20 The mental game of auditioning and how that differs from "acting". 24:02 Finding the note behind a note when a casting director or director tell you to "be'' the essence of another famous actor. Finding your version of that and bringing yourself to it. "Lead with yourself". 31:54 Trusting you are enough as an actor and you don't have to "do" so much. "You're thinking you're alive, you're present. And I think that's just the trust thing, right? Like, I don't have to, I don't have to turn it on here. Because this is enough." 38:24 How does Josh handle the inevitable disappointments that come with being an auditioning actor. Q&A FROM THE AUDIENCE 44:21 What is your dream role, that may not be something you would typically be cast as. 46:21 How do things change once you've been a series regular. Do you get treated differently when you audition. Are things different having one of the top 3 agencies? 50:31 Auditioning in the room vs. self taped auditions. 58:07 What do you do in between jobs, especially now during the WGA and SAG strikes, to stay inspired and feel creative. 1:02:42 Did you feel like the further you went into voiceover that you were seen being pulled out of live action more than Did you feel like it actually opened more doors for you? Flashback Episode of The Father Time Podcast with Jamie KalerThese genius dads are my favorite single panel cartoonists since The Far Side. And as it turns out, they are some of my fave guests ever. I met them the day of the show and they are truly some of my funniest guests ever. Here's a little backstory. Daniel and Jeremy Lehrer are identical twin cartoonists and comedy writers. They grew up in a large extended family in Los Angeles where the emphasis was on academic excellence, classical music, fine art, and other activities designed not to get them laid. After respectively graduating from Columbia University and Columbia Law School, Jeremy became a small cog at a big corporate law firm, while Daniel became a small cog at Ducati Motorcycles in Bologna, Italy. They engaged in a half-decade of the usual post-graduation soul- crushing work, before deciding to “Voltron” together to pursue their dreams of drawing and writing. They are represented at CAA.@lehrerboys, Daniel and Jeremy's Instagram account, is inspired by their horrible childhood fights over the Sunday Funnies and who got to read “The Far Side” first.Their satirical and biting single-panel cartoons comment on everything from Kim Kardashian and “selfie etiquette” to gender-neutral toilets and masturbation in high-tech times. The Lehrer Boys bring an outsider perspective to their work. They have created, sold, and developed numerous shows with studios including Fox, Adult Swim, Maker, and Amazon, and have been privileged to collaborate with talent like Paul Feig and Mila Kunis. They also recently created “Highly Gifted,” a series of animated shorts with Maker Studios, based on their socially-challenged high school years and starring comedian Ron Funches, Josh Brener of “Silicon Valley,” Oscar-winner Nat Faxon, and pop-icon Kesha. You Check them out at https://www.lehrerboysshop.comYou can catch The Parent's Lounge live every Tuesday night 10pm EST/7pm PST at:https://www.facebook.com/theparentslounge#theparentslounge #thelehrerboys #jamiekaler #jasongowin #katemulligan #farside #HighlyGifted #funnydads #parentingpodcast #parentinghumor #standupcomedy

RR174 Max Steel Film Review 2016 PG 13 1hr 32 min IMDb 4.6/10, Action Adventure Family. 0% Rotten Tomatoes Action & Adventure, Comedy, Science Fiction & Fantasy Drama Starring: Ben Winchell, Josh Brener, Maria Bello Director: Stewart Hendler. Written by Christopher L. Yost Every single critic review on rotten tomatoes seemed to hate this flick for one reason or another. Budget of 10M Gross USA 3.8M gross worldwide 6.2M Clearly this movie was not a hit at the box office. Definitely a film that stayed in the red. But I disagree with the notion it had no value and was bad. This is a light hearted movie that had great plucky comic relief. Certainly this is the reason that I liked this film. No, it was not the greatest acting. Yes, the villain was hokey. Yes, the super suit was silly. But was it any worse than Star Kid? As I look up the reviews for star kid I see that movie was not well received either. Another movie that I watched and found it to have entertainment value. Maybe it is because when I watch a movie I watch according to my mood. If I want a kid flick with a scifi theme I never expect it to be an epic masterpiece. Sometimes you only want to decompress and watching a ground breaking phenomenal movie is unnecessary. Hokeiness incarnate included the practice fight scene in the abandoned building, the hero vs. nemesis fight scene, when are hero newly discovers energy emitting from his hand and he attempts to smother it with a pillow. Fun Stuff is the interaction between Max and Steel. For me this is really what made the film entertaining. Without this element it is likely I would have passed on this film. There are a couple of "mythology" moments in "Bibo," episode 12 from season 1 of Star Wars Resistance. That's interspersed with some well-executed physical comedy and Josh Brener going all-in on his character Neeku's storyline. Punch it! ***I'm listener supported! Check out this film's post @ MovieJeff.com here » https://themoviereviewshow.blogspot.com/2016/09/the-belko-experiment.html and leave a comment The Belko Experiment is a 2016 American horror thriller film directed by Greg McLean and written by James Gunn, who also produced the film with Peter Safran. It stars John Gallagher Jr., Tony Goldwyn, Adria Arjona, John C. McGinley, Melonie Diaz, Josh Brener and Michael Rooker. It's a really nasty, real subversive little movie but it will make you think and laugh and also think. These genius dads are my favorite single panel cartoonists since The Far Side. They are represented at CAA. @lehrerboys, Daniel and Jeremy’s Instagram account, is inspired by their horrible childhood fights over the Sunday Funnies and who got to read “The Far Side” first. Their satirical and biting single-panel cartoons comment on everything from Kim Kardashian and “selfie etiquette” to gender-neutral toilets and masturbation in high-tech times. AFTERBUZZ TV -- Silicon Valley edition, is a weekly "after show" for fans of HBO's Silicon Valley. ABOUT SILICON VALLEY: Silicon Valley is an American television sitcom created by Mike Judge, John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky. The series focuses on six young men who found a startup company in Silicon Valley. Richard Hendricks (Thomas Middleditch) is a shy, reclusive programmer who works at a large internet company called Hooli. He is also developing a music app called Pied Piper in a live-instartup business incubator run by entrepreneur Erlich Bachman (T. J. Miller). After a rocky post-TED elevator pitch of Pied Piper to venture capitalist Peter Gregory (Christopher Evan Welch), Hendricks also shows his work to a pair of programmers at Hooli who mock him. Within hours, however, Hooli executive Donald "Jared" Dunn (Zach Woods) and Gregory's assistan

Josh Brener from HBO's Silicon Valley and The Big Bang Theory drops into which he had been on an episode with another science guest. The episode quickly spirals into a level of maturity far too low for a self-respecting scientist as bacteria names, probes on Uranus, Halloween costumes and phallified proton accelerators. Oh... and more space fish.
