Extremely dry conditions coupled with high winds have led to an explosive wildfire situation in southern California. Multiple fires have erupted across the Los Angeles area since Tuesday. Tens of thousands of people have had to evacuate, and firefighters are struggling to contain the flames.Adria Kloke is one of the of people who has had to flee. Hva vil det si å være klok eller vis? Det er vel ikke det samme som å være kunnskapsrik? Jeg kjenner folks som har hodet sitt stappfullt av kunnskap, men som er ganske vanskelige å forholde seg til. Noen av dem er også vanskelig å like. Når jeg i dagens episode skal snakke om klokskap, snakker jeg altså ikke om nivå av kunnskap, men om en litt annen kvalitet. Kloke mennesker er nok ofte kunnskapsrike, men de er også mennesker man graviterer mot fordi man trives, trygges, stimuleres og vokser i deres nærvær. Hva kan og har de kloke som vi andre ikke har? Det er det sentrale spørsmålet i dagens episode.På Wkipedia kan man lese at visdom kan defineres som kunnskap oppnådd av egen erfaring og dermed å kunne dømme hva som er rett handling i en gitt situasjon. Visdom kan også defineres på mange andre måter og sett i sammenheng med flere forskjellige ting, f.eks. moral, innsikt, forståelse, medfølelse og høy levealder, og anses som en sjelden, positiv, personlig egenskap, eller som en dyd i de fleste trosretninger. Intelligens, følelser og spiritualitet har også likheter med visdom, men er ikke det samme. For eksempel er det mulig å ha intelligens og derfor forstå hva noe er, men likevel mangle praktisk erfaring til å vite hvorfor det er sånn. Likevel er det ikke slått fast en bestemt definisjon om nøyaktig hva det betyr å være vis, men det finnes en bok som heter «Wiser», utgitt i 2020, av Dilip Jeste som tar for seg vitenskapelige studier av klokskap kombinert med konkrete tips om hvordan man blir klokere, og nettopp det blir utganspunktet for en denne episode her på SinnSyn.
