A Middle East expert says there's little hope displaced Palestinians can go back to Gaza in future under Israel's latest plan. Its Security Cabinet is planning to expand military action, move Gazans south - and pressure Hamas to release hostages. Otago University's Dr Leon Goldsmith says Israel says it's waiting for the US President's okay. But he says this is already an 'apocalyptic catastrophe'. "But I think if they put this plan into place, they will not allow Palestinians freedom of movement back towards the North." LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

But it appears grassroots progressives are organizing and galvanizing a movement to fight-back against this oligarchical and White Christian Nationalist takeover. 12:13-38:14: Michelle Adams Interview Pat interviews University of Michigan Constitutional Law Professor Michelle Adams on her new book, "The Containment: Detroit, The Supreme Court, and the Battle For Racial Justice In The North." Her book focuses on the consequential Milliken v. Bradley case, in which the Supreme Court issued a ruling that's maintained segregation in our nation's schools. It's a fantastic and engaging read that tells the story of how close we came to true school desegregation in Detroit, and what kinds of lessons we can learn going forward. Trump's Gaza Relocation Plan: A Dangerous Scheme to Displace Palestinians and Expand Israeli Power

Max Blumenthal

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 5, 2025 50:09

On the Judging Freedom podcast, Max Blumenthal delves into the implications of Donald Trump's recent rhetoric regarding Gaza, where he suggests forcibly relocating two million Palestinians to Egypt's Sinai Desert and Jordan. This controversial plan, framed as a "peaceful" resolution to the Israel-Palestine conflict, threatens to destabilize the Middle East further and faces significant opposition from Arab leaders already strained by regional tensions.Blumenthal highlights the immense resistance that would likely arise from Egypt and Jordan, both of which are already hosting large Palestinian refugee populations. For Egypt, the idea of absorbing more Palestinians is seen as a direct assault on its sovereignty, with many in the Egyptian elite deeply hostile to the Palestinians. Meanwhile, Jordan, long used as a "warehouse" for Palestinian refugees, has also seen large-scale protests in response to similar proposals, signaling that the population is unwilling to accept this new wave of displacement.Despite these objections, Trump's plan has been supported by hardline Israeli factions and billionaire donors tied to the Israel lobby, suggesting that the real motive behind the plan is to solidify Israeli control over Gaza and the wider region. Blumenthal emphasizes that this proposal is not just about territorial expansion but also about further cementing the power of a small ruling elite that has long been aligned with U.S. imperial interests.Blumenthal critiques both Trump and Biden administrations for their shared responsibility in the devastation of Gaza, calling attention to the broader system of U.S. foreign policy that perpetuates violence and destabilization in the region. This analysis underscores the need for an alternative approach—one rooted in justice and a real understanding of the Palestinian struggle for self-determination.

In E68, co-hosts Mike Boland and Charles Laughlin talk about how AI may disrupt yet another career ambition – becoming a professional influencer.  The analysts cite data showing that about half of GenZ's say they would enjoy a career sunning poolside for brand deals. They then pierce this bubble by citing brands' likely temptation to build their own influencers with AI tools like Sora and Midjourney. While this trend may not bode well for aspiring young influencers, the analysts agreed that some flavors of influencer marketing may enjoy at least some AI immunity. This includes the emerging category of local influencers, exemplified by companies like Hummingbirds.  This Week in Local is a Localogy production. Mind Molding Tactics
Aligning Your Calling, Mission, and Goals for a Life of Freedom

In this groundbreaking episode, we delve deep into exploring the critical importance of correctly aligning one's calling, mission, and goals. Cherishing the mission's essence before the calling is at the core of this profound discussion. Life, the byproduct of our thinking, can attain its highest expression when we exercise the concept of mission over goals before calling properly. Our conversation lucidly elucidates the three crucial internal sectors necessary for achieving sustainable growth and enduring success. These are your calling, mission, and goal. Understanding the right order of these elements and remaining aware of what truly matters can transform your life. The caveat is that improper valuation or misalignment of these sectors can lead to stagnation and dormancy. In the pursuit of bigger things, often, we underestimate our mission's value and surrender to the allure of immediate goals. However, understanding that your calling is greater than your mission and your mission, in turn, surpasses your goals, can reshape your life's trajectory. This is not a mere superficial concept but a deeply ingrained principle that fuels your growth and productivity. Misconception and overemphasis of certain goals can derail you from your mission and calling. The fulfillment of your calling, mission, and goal in their right environment, placement, and sector aligns you with the abundance of life. Displace, undervalue, or misinterpret these sectors, and your life could come to a grinding halt. Your calling, mission, and goal are intimately intertwined. While your calling is driven by a greater purpose that benefits the world, your mission comprises essential micro-steps towards your calling. Understand that your calling is not a superficial idea but an enduring passion. Your mission, built into the calling, forms the foundation, while your goals provide the necessary structure for your mission. This understanding becomes pivotal for the vitality and success of humanity. While achieving alignment within these three sectors indeed is a task, mastering this principle ensures a path towards overall health, wellness, and thriving success.
