Yves Boisvert est arrivé à La Presse en 1988, Simon Drouin, lui, en 1999. Un grand nom du journalisme les unit : Pierre Foglia. Décédé à l’âge de 84 ans plus tôt cette semaine, nous avons donc invité Boisvert et Drouin à se remémorer de beaux souvenirs du géant de la chronique québécoise. Les deux se rappellent bien avoir été très impressionnés de rencontrer Foglia, déjà tellement populaire ici. Boisvert nous explique que son style unique a d’ailleurs été bâti en parti dans le cahier des sports de La Presse ! Foglia était bel et bien un amoureux de sports, que ce soit du cyclisme ou de l’athlétisme. «C’est un ami de sports, un ami pour la vie», souligne Simon Drouin, qui allait souvent faire du vélo avec le journaliste regretté. Les deux finissent en disant avec assurance : Pierre était aimé de tous, merci Pierre! Le fameux classement annuel de The Athletic, relatant les dix meilleurs contrats de la LNH, selon le modèle de Dom Luszczyszyn. Nicolas Cloutier, journaliste de TVA Sports, est en studio en compagnie de Meeker Guerrier pour expliquer les calculs derrière ce classement, où nous retrouvons en tête l’attaquant des Sénateurs d’Ottawa, Tim Stützle. Cloutier rappelle d’ailleurs que Nick Suzuki, avec ses 7,875 millions de dollars touchés annuellement, figurait dans le top 10 des PIRES classements de la LNH, selon The Athletic. Elles deviennent de vraies modèles et ambassadrices pour les marques et organismes. Léger rentre en détail sur pourquoi le tennis féminin attire les annonceurs. La boxeuse québécoise Leila Beaudoin a vaincu l'ex-championne mondiale Elhem Mekhaled par arrêt de l’arbitre au 6e round le 27 juin.
