Jim Shepherd in conversation with David Eastaugh https://preciousrecordingsoflondon.bandcamp.com/album/prelp-12-be-careful-what-you-wish-for https://www.facebook.com/thejasmineminks/?locale=en_GB Alongside his pals, Jasmine Minks front man Jim Shepherd has produced his masterpiece. Okay, I guess we might have to call them a 'Creation supergroup' because the Pillars of Creation features a band of mainly former label stalwarts who bring Shepherd's epic to life. Dave Morgan from the Loft (and many others!) is on drumming, mixing and production duties, for example, with Frank Sweeney and Arash Torabi from the June Brides also on the team. (OK, the June Brides never released a record on Creation but let's not quibble here … and Frank is indeed on any number of records by the likes of Primal Scream and Felt etc). Ruth Tidmarsh and Innes Mackintosh complete the crew. They've produced a brilliantly memorable album – not far off a concept album of sorts, albeit with the title track as the lead digital single (released on Friday). It's distinctive and unique and you won't want to miss it. Includes unlimited streaming of PRELP 12: Be Careful What You Wish For via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more.
Most insurance investigators are content to follow straightforward leads—until they stumble into a lure far more complex than a simple theft. Johnny Dollar's latest case unravels a meticulous fur heist that leads him through a maze of deception, burglaries, and cold-blooded murder. What appears to be an inside job turns out to be a web spun by a masterful criminal whose talent for opening a vault without a trace is almost superhuman. The question: who's really behind the theft, and how are they so skilled? In this episode, you'll discover how a seemingly impossible break-in was executed with subtle sophistication, nearly erased from every conventional line of investigation. Johnny digs into intricate vault mechanisms, identifies a murder weapon with matching ballistics, and exposes a conspiracy that stretches from Boston to South America. We break down the surprising role of an unassuming night watchman and how personal motives intertwine with high-stakes thefts of $300,000 worth of mink coats—an amount that makes every puzzle piece more valuable. You'll learn how small clues—like a piece of cardboard with the words “Country Club Dance”—can crack a case wide open, revealing motives hidden behind a veneer of professionalism. We delve into the psychology of sophisticated criminals, their methods of virtually “picking” vaults, and the importance of intuition in piecing together seemingly disconnected facts. Johnny's journey highlights the vital importance of trusting your instincts, even in a world of strict rules and documented evidence. Why does all this matter? Because in the world of high-value theft and insurance, the difference between loss and recovery hinges on insight—on recognizing the subtle signs that others overlook. For anyone eager to see how clever minds unravel the most guarded secrets, this episode offers a masterclass in investigation, showcasing that sometimes, the smallest detail can save millions.Perfect for insurance professionals, crime buffs, or anyone interested in how the sharpest detectives piece together the impossible, this episode reveals that beneath the veneer of routine lies a world where ingenuity and instinct are everything. Tune in to see how a single coat returned in the mail exposes a network far more dangerous—and clever—than anyone imagined.

Und was bleibt ungeklärt?

John Minks is a gifted musician with over 15 years of exploring and studying the healing power of sound. John's first experience with sound healing was in Amsterdam in 2006. Since then, his tone quest has taken him from the Brazilian rainforest to the islands of Hawai'i and beyond. He began his study of the didgeridoo while in the jungles of Brazil in 2007. John has also studied guitar for the past 10 years and has extensive experience in its healing power with plant medicines. John has attended and spoken at Sage Sound Academy and has attended gong workshops with Don Conreaux and 9 Ways Academy. My guest today is Nashville-based multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Dylan Sevey, best known for his work with The Minks, Ron Gallo, Aaron Lee Tasjan, and the incredible Weird Al Yankovic tribute band Weird Pals. Dylan joins me to discuss Weird Al's 1999 masterpiece 'Running With Scissors'. We chat about the entirely unique place Weird Al has carved for himself within the music industry, how he laid the cultural ground work for future musical comedy acts, the depth of respect and research he puts into each genre he parodies, the origin story of Weird Pals, how at its core Yankovic's catalogue is a celebration of all genres of music, the extraordinary art of the Weird Al polka, and how both a Weird Al concert and a Weird Pals show provides a level of musical breadth and diversity you're unlikely to experience elsewhere. For those attending Weird Al Yankovic's show at Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville on Sept 20, Weird Pals will be playing an after party gig across the road at Acme Feed & Seed after the show. Rebecca Mink founded the MINK brand to offer an alternative to leather. Mink's passion to build MINK started at the astonishing age of 4 years old when she refused to eat animals and wear shoes made of leather. Mink went on to become a celebrity wardrobe stylist creating fashion forward luxury options that did not harm animals, people or the planet. Mink created the first luxury vegan shoes 23 years ago in Italy sourcing available sustainable materials. After studying vegan material for decades Mink has now invented a supreme bio-based plant leather made from reclaimed fruits and vegetables to launch in 2024. Mink is a pioneer in leading innovative technologies in sustainable materials focused on using no plastic while still creating luxurious products with no compromise. Minks lifework is to shift the paradigm of how people view animal leather versus sustainable non leather options.MINK Vegan Shoes: https://minkshoes.com/MINK Materials: https://minkmaterials.com/Elevate Your Brand is the #1 marketing podcast for entrepreneurs and “wantreprenuers” looking for insider tips and secrets from the most exciting new and growing brands in Los Angeles and the US at large.
