Night Listeners -We are trying something different tonight and everything is electronic. I don't know if this was the right move or not but in true IBT fashion we have a pro-produced slick tracks mixed with the best of the bedroom electronic noise projects. One note I want to make is the inclusion of both EHI and Deerslayer. EHI was a Des Moines based noise project by Brian Noring who also started the FDR Tape label. Deerslayer was the basement experimental solo act of Adam Groves of The PeePees, Brazil, and Wheel and the Fence. Both of these are probably the most elusive of everything I will play. Hey there, Thinkers! This episode is a thoughtful meditation with just Alanna as she talks about and kind of works through some thoughts on the differences between being alone and being lonely. It's definitely a relevant topic in the lives of the IBT team right now, as well as being something a lot of people are thinking about this time of year- Valentine's Day is approaching, after all, and in many places it's the depths of winter. Feelings of loneliness might be creeping up on you, but please don't fret. This episode features the reading of a poem: "The Sound of One Fork" by Minnie Bruce PrattFind it online here.Learn more about the poet, Minnie- a southern lesbian-feminist- here.Support us on Patreon!Check out the website.

(CW: alcholism, addiction)We are excited to share this episode with you, Thinkers. One of my artist friends, Nic Seegel, joins us on this episode to discuss his experience with an addiction to alcohol. This is an amazing insight into the mind of a person experiencing alcholoism, what brough him to his breaking point, and how he dug himself out. In true IBT fashion, I do want to remind you- every story is different, so this might be an entirely different experience and journey with addiction and sobriety than what you or someone you know experienced. You also may never have known a person to go through this experience (although it's more likely that you have and didn't know it), so you think it's not for you. But it's for that exact reason that it's important to listen to Nic's story.Find the shownotes HERE.Check out our Patreon for early, ad free, and EXTRA content! This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/5806483/advertisement
We are rounding out Pride month at IBT with a bang, y'all- today's episode, with my mostly anonymous friend Alix, is a look inside the identity of an asexual, bigender, bisexual human. Alix patiently explains so much to us, doing a job that is not their responsibility- explaining the intimacies of their identity. But thankfully, they have taken the time and energy to do this with me, for you- to make an identity that might seem foreign to some of our listeners more understandable and more human. I hope that this episode maybe makes you think about the different ways a person can identify, and helps humanize the people that you might not understand. I hope this episode enlightens you on what asexuality is and how it can be experienced, as it did me. Overall- I hope this episode makes you think.check out the shownotes for more info, links, etc here.Support us on Patreon to help us continue this project. Discover what's possible when you work kinder, not harder. Today we're bringing back the CEO and Founder of the Global Autism Project, Molly Ola Pinney, along with the organization's Head of University and Training Programs, Ann Beirne. For the past several months, Ann and I have been working together on a very special project. We've developed Responsive Skills Training, a curriculum for entry-level autism service providers that teaches the required skills for the RBT, IBT, and ABAT credentials. This course was co-created with the Autistic community to transform the way in which services are provided across the world. Our committee of contributors included prominent self-advocates, such as Temple Grandin and Stephen Shore, different family members, like parents and siblings, and a wide range of professionals, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and transition specialists. Our purpose with Responsive Skills Training, or RST for short, is to give entry-level service providers a more well-rounded understanding of autism by hearing directly from those with lived experiences. In today's conversation, we discuss: Why we decided to create RST The needs of the international community The importance of listening to autistic voices Reforming Applied Behavior Analysis to include neurodiversity-affirming practices The process of co-creating RST with a committee of contributors After the conversation with Molly and Ann, you'll also hear testimonies from several RST contributors about why they decided to join this project. These were recorded in the field during our last SkillCorps volunteer trip to Kenya in March. Featured RST contributors: Andrew Bennett, Autistic Self-Advocate, BCaBA (US) Mafer Chang, Director/Founder of Centro Enigma (Ecuador) Alexis Sevieri, Sibling Advocate, RBT (US) Laura Leonard, BCBA (US) Sangeeta Jain, Vice Principal of SOREM (India) To learn more about the Global Autism Project's Responsive Skills Training, please visit globalautismproject.org/rst. ----more---- Related episodes: 109. In this episode, at a Real Truth About Health conference, Jeffrey tells some amazing stories that have been discovered during the recent and ongoing lawsuits against Bayer/Monsanto: Monsanto's "Discredit Bureau" which worked under the mission statement, "Let Nothing Go" and was a financial line item in their budget. The story of IBT or International Biotest Labs who did about 35 - 40% of all toxicology testing for industry and was considered the "go to" lab to get your pesticide approved. It was found through a DOJ investigation that about 80% of all tests run through IBT were falsified and invalid. The story of James Parry, one of the leading scientists on genotoxicity, was hired by Monsanto and declared glyphosate, the main chemical in Roundup, genotoxic. Monsanto would not accept any of his findings and hid them from the EPA. The story of Marion Copely, an EPA executive, who was dying from cancer and during her last days said that her investigation showed that there were 14 ways that glyphosate could cause cancer. In February of 2020, a 28-year-old woman went missing in South Carolina after trying to get away from a man at a bar. When police searched her apartment, they found an alarming amount of blood, but no body- and her car was missing. When police searched the property of their first suspect, they found even more disturbing evidence. This is the murder of Celia Sweeney. BONUS EPISODES patreon.com/goingwestpodcast CASE SOURCES 1. Happy Holidays!!!!! This Christmas special of IBT is 1) late 2) a hot mess 3) my audio is atrocious. I recorded from my literal childhood bed in Kentucky while I was at my parents for the holidays, Tyler recorded in between visits with the in-laws, this was done at 11 pm and all of our agreed upon talking points basically flew out the window. OH and Tyler basically runs this episode. If you're into literature, this is a GOOD one - we do have some good takes on the classic Louisa May Alcott novel "Little Women" and the Greta Gerwig film adaptation. If you want to hear bullshit, this is also a good one for that. I hope this episode brings you some relief and chuckles this holiday season! AFC West Fantasy Football Division Preview: The Final Preview with Nate and Jen Polvogt is the final installment of this annual series. We preview the best division in the NFL. This division was an arms race for much of the off-season. When one team made a move, the next team made a counter move. And it all started with the Denver Broncos trading for Russell Wilson. This move sparked an eventful offseason just in the AFC West, but across the league as well. The Raiders traded for Rock Ya-Sin and Davante Adams. The Chargers traded for Khalil Mack. The Chiefs traded away Tyreek Hill, but signed Juju Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdez-Scantling and drafted Skyy Moore. These were just some of the significant moves that were made and discussed in this AFC West Fantasy Football Division Preview. Nate and Jen are the rare power couple of Fantasy Football! Nate is a writer and contributor for IBT Media, Fantasy Pros and Trophy Smack among others and Jen is a contributor for IBT as well as an editor for Fantasy Pros. They do all of this while also cheering on the Denver Broncos which made them experts for an AFC West Fantasy Football Division Preview. We start the episode off with the Fantasy Tip that can save your seeason. Then as per usual for the division preview series, we discuss which players are buys, sells and holds based on their average draft position(ADP). We also pick out our sleepers for this division and discuss who will lead the Raiders and Chiefs in targets. We discuss the potential playoff outcomes for the division and who could possibly finish last. Ultimately it will come down to the defenses' abilities to stop the other teams' offense AND certain offenses being able to keep up with the others. The Chiefs and Raiders have these bigger question marks with so much change to the offenses.
