Tad būs rokasbumbas spēlētājs. Tas viss stiepjas arvien garāk," atzīst Andrejs Veisbergs, runājot par sporta terminoloģiju. "Liekas, ka sportu ir tik daudz, ka visu latviskot nevarēsim. Ir arī specifiski jauni sporta veidi, kuros cilvēki neorientējas. Ja tos komentējam, anglismi spiedīsies iekšā, tas ir pilnīgi skaidrs." Viņš norāda, ka terminos, kur ir kāds vārds, piemēram, ono lēciens, pie tā vajadzētu palikt, nevis mēģināt atšifrēt. Zinātāji sapratīs. "Lielā mērā daudz nosaka īsums. Uzvar labskaņa un īsums, un tā ir ļoti daudzos sporta veidos," atzīst Dite Liepa. "Arī sporta terminoloģijā nav nekas īpašs, kas nebūtu bijis citu nozaru terminoloģijā. Ļoti ātri nostiprinās sevišķi ar komentāriem, komentētājiem, sporta pārraižu translācijām angliskie [vārdi]. Ir vairāki apstākļi - ir grūti pieradināt, ne vienmēr uzreiz ir atbilstošais latviešu valodas ekvivalents un ne vienmēr arī tas ir veiksmīgs."
