In this special episode, we sat down with Rex Lee, cybersecurity adviser at My Smart Privacy, to learn more about the energy revolution. How is the Chinese regime benefiting from green energy being pushed in America? How are big oil companies rebranding themselves to get government benefits? And where does all this leave the consumer? He noted Biden adviser for clean energy John Podesta's keynote speech at CERAWeek, saying: “He was talking about the green initiative money associated with the Inflation Reduction Act and the omnibus bill, which came out to—with both legislations, it's over $500 billion of taxpayer money that's set aside for green initiatives. He referred to that money—this is really interesting—he referred to that money as government-enabled investment, which meant that any company that was in the audience, including oil and gas companies like Shell, Exxon, and so forth, Chevron, could qualify for that money … as long as they had investments in green energy initiatives like hydrogen, and so forth. And all of the major oil companies are doing this. As a matter of fact, they're rebranding themselves from Big Oil to Big Energy, which means that they're going to qualify to get part of that $500 billion omnibus and Inflation Reduction Act money for green initiatives.” As for what the solution is, Lee said: “My viewpoints on this is that we do need to migrate part of our grid to renewable energies. And I think you're going to see a lot of that's going to be done through hydrogen. … And one of the things they're doing with hydrogen is they're able to go into a coal power plant and say, ‘Okay, it's 100 percent coal today, but we can actually retrofit this power plant with hydrogen, and make it 50 percent dependent on coal in the future.' And I think that's a compromise that we need. We can't go all in one direction. We've tried that in Texas, and that resulted in costing people their lives a couple of years ago, during the Texas freeze. “So I think the migration needs to be done in a sensible way, and there needs to be compromise. It can't be all or nothing. [Secretary of Energy] Jennifer Granholm said it herself: Fossil fuels equal energy security today,” he added. ⭕️ Watch in-depth videos based on Truth & Tradition at Epoch TV

One expert is calling today's social media apps legal malware. “Tristan Harris had this to say: the average person checks their smartphone 150 times per day. Why do we do this? It's the number one ingredient in slot machines: intermittent variable rewards. Addictiveness is maximized when the rewards are variable. Technology hijacks the way we perceive our choices and replaces them with new ones,” says Rex Lee, cybersecurity adviser at My Smart Privacy. What vulnerabilities lie within these apps? And is Beijing poised to exploit them? ⭕️Watch in-depth videos based on Truth & Tradition at Epoch TV
'We Are at War, and We're at Cyber War': Rex Lee on Tech Hybrid Warfare | China In Focus
In this special episode, we sat down with Rex Lee, cybersecurity adviser at My Smart Privacy. He sheds light on tech-based hybrid warfare, what hybrid warfare is, and how technology is integrated. Lee says: “People don't realize that any app, whether it's developed by Google, ByteDance from China, Baidu from China—which is an Android app developer and a Google partner—or Prisma Labs from Russia—which is the most popular photo editing app in the world, which is Prisma Photo Editor—any of these apps are basically legal malware. All apps today enable the developers to surveil and data mine the end user.” “It's not just attacks on networks. These bad actors can also gain financial information, gain access to banks, gain access to banking accounts, and drain this money digitally, as well as launch ransomware attacks and hold cities, governments, and corporations, hold them hostage until they get paid the ransom. So it's a broad spectrum of attacks. This is actual warfare. We are at war, and we're at cyber war. But it's unofficial because it hasn't been declared war yet,” he added. ⭕️Watch in-depth videos based on Truth & Tradition at Epoch TV

In this special episode, we sat down with Rex M. Lee, cybersecurity adviser at My Smart Privacy. He helps shed light on China's cyberattacks on America, how they affect us in our daily lives, and what can be done to stop them. Lee notes one way adversarial countries can get in is through invasive apps: “You have to look at an app as legal malware. And that's the best way you can describe apps today. An app—whether it's a social media app developed by Bytedance, such as TikTok, or Facebook, or Instagram—any of these apps, they are basically legal malware that enable the developer to monitor, track, and data mine the end user for financial gain 24 by seven, 365 days a year. “A single intrusive app enables the developer to collect over 5,000 highly confidential data points associated with the end user's personal information, business information, medical information, legal information, and employment information because the surveillance and data mining done by these companies is indiscriminate, meaning that they're not only collecting consumer information, they're collecting every bit of information from the end user, including text messages, email, email attachments, calendar events, and so forth,” he added. As to just how invasive these are, Lee said: “What an app will do is it will interlink with all of the hardware on the device and the sensors on the device, such as camera and microphone, as well as sensors, such as the accelerometer. So they can do audio, video and physical surveillance on you 24 hours, 365 days a year while collecting those 5,000 highly confidential data points on the end user. What they're doing is they package that and they monetize it. But also, as we're seeing in the news, is that these tech companies are aligned with governments. So the information a lot of times is ending up in the hands of the government.” We also sat down with Greg Copley, president of the International Strategic Studies Association and author of “The New Total War.” He touches on the recent buzz over House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's trip to Taiwan and what that means for this November, both in terms of our midterm elections and Chinese leader Xi Jinping seeking an unprecedented third term. Copley said: “We're now getting a better idea as to how the People's Liberation Army [PLA] would fight a war against Taiwan, if it came to that. And if they in fact allowed the General Secretary Xi to make them go to war on the Taiwan issue, Japan has made it clear, and it repeated that declaration during Speaker Pelosi's visit, that Japan would support Taiwan in the event of a military attack by the People's Republic of China. Certainly, the U.S. will be drawn into it one way or another. Yes, it would involve high risks and the potential for many casualties. But it would also involve higher risks for the People's Republic of China, not just in the direct conflict between the PLA and the Republic of China armed forces and the United States armed forces and the Japanese self-defense forces, but also there are other forces who would become engaged automatically. “That probably would include Australia, but it would certainly include India, and the Indian factor is one which Beijing does not wish to discuss openly. Even in the current war game posture against Taiwan, the PLA started moving additional forces down into the Tibetan plateau to be ready for an Indian response there. The Indian response would be massive. India has a similar force capability in many respects to the People's Republic of China, and could move the entirety of its forces against the PRC, both on the Tibetan plateau and in the Eurasian context, but also in the Indian Ocean in a naval context,” he added. ⭕️Watch in-depth videos based on Truth & Tradition at Epoch TV

Social networking companies have allegedly been making products intentionally addictive to maximize customer use and to make more profit. Yet by doing so, these companies may be violating laws on child protection and on customer rights, according to cybersecurity and privacy adviser Rex Lee. Companies are deploying addictive methods of “brain hijacking,” using deceptive terms of use agreements, and are engaging in forms of surveillance that could be deemed illegal on several grounds. To learn more about this, we sat down for an interview with Rex Lee. ⭕️ Stay up-to-date with Josh with the Crossroads NEWSLETTER

Positioning: school IT systems collect and manage sensitive data about students, about their parents, guardians, and families, about educators and other school staff, and about school district operations. In some cases, these IT systems are locally hosted on school district premises or in shared hosting arrangements with other local government entities; increasingly, they are hosted by an ecosystem of vendors ‘in the cloud' on systems accessible by any internet-connected device. While there are myriad benefits to the adoption and use of IT systems by school districts—and to the collection and sharing of education-related data with trusted partners—it is important we acknowledge that any adoption of technology also introduces cybersecurity risk. 145 data breach incidents involving public schools (representing 36 percent of all incidents disclosed during 2020). Why have cyber threats to schools escalated? What types of information/data are cyber criminals after? Not making learning punitive Within the context of the school, does gamification raise the potential for cyberbullying? Don't want learning to be punitive. If I felt judged or looked at, things were harder. How microlearning helps us learn. Varying the way it is delivered. Awake, bathroom, coffee, dog, attention span is decreasing. Brain starts forgetting critical things because of what we are stuffing in it. App headway With all the information out there in this digital age, there seems to be many training opportunities that come along with it; What are the challenges? “You will lose it if you don't use it.” But since our brains can only hold a limited amount of information (1,000 - 2.5 million gigabytes), how do we keep every bit of information that we want to remember? How many different learning types have been identified? How can we meet the training needs of these students? As cybersecurity isn't the most exciting topic; How can we make learning more fun and interesting? There's a lot of buzz around microlearning in education. Why is this form of training delivery becoming so popular? As security awareness is an important part of a preventative plan. How would you incorporate the training to encourage the most adoption? What do you think is the biggest hurdle for schools in changing their culture toward one that prioritizes cybersecurity?

An investigation by the Department of Education found that U.S. universities failed to disclose $6.5 billion in foreign gifts and contracts, in violation of federal law. Also, a former business associate of Hunter Biden has allegedly been moved from his prison cell to protect him, and has provided authorities with an email account that is adding to the growing scandal around Biden. And as the discussion grows in the United States around political censorship by social media companies and big tech, the broader picture is surveillance capitalism and potential violations of U.S. law by the tech industry. This week, Glenn sits down with Senator Mike Lee of Utah who has spent his career defending the basic liberties of Americans and Utahns as a tireless advocate for our founding constitutional principles. Senator Lee acquired a deep respect for the Constitution early on. His father, Rex Lee, who served as the Solicitor General under President Ronald Reagan, would often discuss varied aspects of judicial and constitutional doctrine around the kitchen table, from Due Process to the uses of Executive Plenary Power. He attended most of his father's arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court, giving him a unique, hands-on experience and understanding of government up close. He serves on Judiciary, Commerce, and Energy Committees and is currently the Chair of the Joint Economic Committee. He is consistently one of the most conservative members of the U.S. Senate and also one of the nicest and most well-liked on both sides. He is also a New York Times Best-Selling author of 3 books including his latest, "Our Lost Declaration: America's Fight Against Tyranny from King George to the Deep State." They talk about everything from Thomas Jefferson and the Constitution all the way to John Roberts on the Supreme Court. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
All the poems in Rex Lee Jim’s collection give the Navajo language center stage. The 30 poems in “Saad Lá Tah Hózhóón: A Collection of Diné Poetry” were written first in Navajo. Lee also translated them into English. The writing draws from his life as a Diné and the land his people call home. The former Navajo Nation vice president helps us celebrate National Poetry Month with a message about the importance of language and culture.
Abby and Jim review things that have happened in the past week that aren't funny - notably Utah Senator Mike Lee's stand-up comedy routine on the Senate floor that featured tauntauns and Aquaman. Would he have been as condescending if Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had been a middle-aged man? Jim also introduce Abby to a speech by Senator Lee's father Rex Lee that read like a primer on why you shouldn't vote for Mike Lee. The other unfunny event of the week, Joe Biden's gropey public behavior, also gets the once-over, and Abby and Jim assess what this means in the coarsening Age of Trump.
I am joined on this episode by Henry Hereford & Nadia Jordan to talk about their latest film For the Love of George. Nadia is not only the lead actress in the film, she also wrote and produced the film. Based on the concept of a jilted wife, Poppy (Nadia) flees London to stay with her friend in LA (the delightful Rex Lee) with a firm plan - to meet George Clooney and get him to fall in love with her. We follow Poppy and her antic in a fun film, with some genuine laughs. Henry plays Stephen, Poppy's cheating husband. Despite his unfaithfulness, you do find yourself empathising with him in the film. Some great performances all round, won for me by Rex Lee. Sit back and listen to my chat with the gorgeous and talented Nadia and the talented and fun Henry as we talk about the film, acting in general and supporting independent film. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Hey guys! It’s Keri TV, and today I’m going to be talking about the myth of the Holidays. Stay tuned. [music] So the myth of the holidays. I’m talking about this today because it’s something that I’ve been discussing with so many different people over the last two or three weeks, maybe a month. I always love to talk about topics that are super relevant. The basis of Keri TV is not the encyclopedia of real estate, although some people think I am one, but more so really what I deal with day in day out and my experiences over the last, mm, thirteen or fourteen years. Isn’t that crazy? Live, breath, eat, sleep real estate, right? Based on that, I wanted to talk a little about what’s happening in quarter four year. It is the first week of December. We’ve essentially got three weeks until it’s Christmas, and then we’ve got that week from Christmas to New Year’s where things can be a little bit more quiet. What I’ve noticed over the last few years is every person, regardless of the time of year, has their own unique needs, wants, and desires. If you think about it, if you’re a buyer who’s been trying to find something and something great comes up right around Christmas, and you’re in town, are you going to not go see that property just because it’s the holidays? If you’re a seller and you get a job transfer or maybe you meet someone and you’re moving to Spain, are you not going to sell because of the holidays? Think about people and pregnancies, divorce, things that happen that force people to move. Regardless of the time, every single person has a personal need and desire that could make them move or not move. Also in California, in Los Angeles, we’re so lucky – I know it’s our first day of rain in a while – we don’t have to, what, shovel snow out of the way for showings. We have Novembers with seventy-degree weather. We don’t deal with the hardships of trying to get into properties and open houses with the snow, which we’re very lucky about. A lot of people in LA don’t leave for the holidays. This time is actually a great time for people to be out shopping. They have a little time off. If you’re a seller, sometimes it’s really cool to show your house when it’s all decorated for the holidays. I just wanted to dispel the myth that it is a horrible time to sell or buy during the holidays. What I will be honest with is every situation is really different. If somebody is trying to give you a list of reasons of why you should sell right now versus waiting, you have to look at if they’re coming from my personal needs, wants and motivations, or based on their agenda? An agent is supposed to listen to their clients and find out what their needs and wants are and how it relates to the current market. As a buyer, there could be some advantages to looking right now. There’s generally less competition around the holidays. It’s a little bit easier to squeeze into a property. As a seller, as I mentioned, it could be really beneficial to show your home when it’s so charming, beautiful and wonderful. Now if you’re a seller who’s trying to test the market, get a higher price than normal, and you’ve got some challenges with your home, then the holidays are not necessarily the best time to try to do that. If you’ve got a house in great condition, that’s showable, you’re ready to move, and it’s priced well, it’s never a bad time to put your home on the market. As I mentioned for buyers, you can get a great deal around this time with less activity. Now the market is shifting, as we all know. Things are slowing down, so that heavy and high acceleration of prices has now stopped. It’s not doom and gloom, which we’ve all mentioned. There’s going to be less competition in the market in general. Some of my personal experiences during the holidays, just thinking of last year, we listed a condo on Lincoln and Santa Monica the day before Thanksgiving. We were just ironing out the best buyer. We’d had three offers on the property, all the week before Thanksgiving. The day right before Turkey day, we ended up accepting one. Everybody was still a little bit active around that time. This year right now, we’ve had a couple of properties go into escrow two weeks ago. Thanksgiving was last week. We’ve gotten offers on properties now. We’ve got new listings coming up. People are still out there and active. Thinking of some of my Christmas time clients, I remember Anna and Rex Lee. We were definitely right around Christmas or New Years, I think. It was a while ago now. Sandi Bass, I know we got something around the holidays. Of course, Brendan, I’ll never forgot our conversations with eggnog when I congratulated you on getting that multiple offer accepted. It’s definitely an awesome time to still be in the market, as you know. Every year I see a slowdown this time of year, but people are still buying and selling properties this time of year. Don’t discount the time of year. As I always say, real estate is about your personal timing and needs. Make sure that you’re in an emotional and financial ready position to buy or sell. It is not a bad or good time to sell. There’s a lot of different opportunities for buyers and sellers in this market. I’ve worked a lot of Christmases around transactions. If you’ve got any more questions on this subject, you know where to find me, and we will see you next week. Cheers guys. [music]

My first guest on the Tami Jackson Show* will be Timothy Shea. Tim SheaTimothy Shea has been active in GOP politics deep behind enemy lines in the Northeast for over 40 years. He has served as a Town Meeting Member, Town GOP Committee Member, and state convention delegate in Massachusetts. The former host of Radio RedNationRising, he is a political commentator and essayist. Timothy and I will be talking about the National Popular Vote. There is a big push right now amongst disgruntled folks to ditch the Electoral College and pass a NPV bill. Why is that a bad thing? How would a popular vote affect the balance of power in America? Why didn't the Founders establish a national popular vote? Why a constitutional republic? Timothy Shea will break it all down for us and make it clear, such that all of us can defend constitutional faithfulness and our electoral process. Timothy is a favorite of mine and my top-shelf listeners, and, per usual, this will be fast-paced and too much fun to be legal! ******************** My second guest tonight will be Senator Mike Lee. Elected in 2010 as Utah's 16th Senator, Mike Lee has spent his career defending the basic liberties of Americans and Utahns as a tireless advocate for our founding constitutional principles. Lee graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science, graduated from BYU's Law School in 1997. He served as law clerk to Judge Dee Benson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah, and then with future Supreme Court Justice Judge Samuel A. Alito, Jr. on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Lee spent several years as an attorney with the law firm Sidley & Austin specializing in appellate and Supreme Court litigation, and then served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Salt Lake City arguing cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Lee served the state of Utah as Governor Jon Huntsman's General Counsel and was later honored to reunite with Justice Alito, now on the Supreme Court, for a one-year clerkship. He returned to private practice in 2007. Today, Lee fights to preserve America's proud founding document in the United States Senate. He advocates efforts to support constitutionally limited government, fiscal responsibility, individual liberty, and economic prosperity. Lee is a member of the Judiciary Committee, and serves as Chairman of the Antitrust, Competition Policy and Consumer Rights Subcommittee protecting business competition and personal freedom. Senator Lee has a new book out that is must reading for, well, every American, titled, Written Out of History: The Forgotten Founders Who Fought Big Government. Senator Mike Lee and I, in light of upcoming Father's Day, will discuss the impact his dad had on his life and worldview. We'll talk about the Gorsuch hearings and the acrimony present in those judicial hearings. And of course we'll discuss his terrific new book and a few of the people he highlights in the book -- such as Aaron Burr, Mercy Otis Warren, Iroquois Chief Canasatego -- and the contributions they made to the U.S Constitution and founding.
