Salwa and Selma Mikou are the founders of Paris-based Mikou Architecture. Born in Fez, Morocco and educated in Paris, they have spent the last two decades reimagining the relationship between the built environment and the cultural landscape. After honing their craft under two of the world's most iconic architects, Jean Nouvel and Renzo Piano, they founded their own studio. For them, architecture is a living interaction with landscape and what they call the Atlas of Resonance, interpreting the hidden layers of a territory, geology, memory, and craft. It is a philosophy that rejects the generic, seeking instead to weave together technological innovation with local materials. Whether it is a mosque in the north of England or a hybrid innovation hub in a former royal manufactory, their work asks a fundamental question: How does space shape the way we think, learn and remember? They were selected by Rem Koolhaas to represent Morocco at the Venice Biennale. Most recently, they were commissioned by Hermès to create a 17,000-square-meter facility that bridges industrial performance with poetic expression. At the heart of their practice is a belief that architecture is not just about building—it's about shaping relationships: between people, between past and future, between technology and craft.(0:03) Architecture as a Living Transformation(1:42) The Intuitive Knowledge of Living Art(2:20) Preserving the Human Core of Expression(3:14) The Medina and the Geometry of Childhood(6:35) The Social Spaces of Rooftops(8:27) The Twin Dynamic and Confrontation with 'l'autre'(10:21) Contextual Echoes & Traces of the Site(12:12) The Temples of Water(13:15) The Mosque as Pure Spatiality(15:49) Building Culture with Yves Saint Laurent & Pierre Bergé(16:57) The Wast ed-dar (وسط الدار) and the Heart of a Building(18:31) The Smells and Sounds of Home(19:44) Balance, Nature, and SisterhoodEpisode Websitewww.creativeprocess.info/podInstagram:@creativeprocesspodcast

War of the Roses is our Valentine’s test of love. If you’re not completely sure your partner is loyal, you send us your story, and we step in. We call your partner pretending to be from the Marble Group, offering a romantic Valentine’s experience, and we listen to who they choose to share it with. You… or someone else. Sometimes the truth comes out when people think no one is watching. Today we have: Rakeem from Paulshof. He and Salwa work together and started off as friends, but over time it became more and they’ve been officially dating for just over a year. Rakeem says he was drawn to her kindness and the way she always makes time for others. Her values really stood out to him, and she has a way of making life better. Salwa is bubbly, loves hiking and outdoor adventures, and is a total foodie. But here’s the thing Rakeem is being tested today. Salwa would like to get married in the next year or so, and we’re about to see where he stands. We called Rakeem to tell him he’s won a dinner at the Marble Group, but the question is… who will he take with him? Hang out with Anele and The Club on 947 every weekday morning. Episode 4 - Cultivating One's Personal Vocation and Mission This final episode of the series explores how God works powerfully through wounded hearts, generous mentors, and ordinary people who choose to say yes. It reveals that leadership is not reserved for the perfect or the fearless, but for those willing to be shaped through faith, trust, and perseverance. These are stories of personal transformation, where grace meets human weakness and turns it into something fruitful and life-giving. Steve Lawrence invites us to rediscover what it truly means to live with purpose. Through reflection and lived experience, this episode encourages viewers to consider how influence, faith, and courage intersect in everyday life, and how responding to God's call can lead not only to personal renewal, but to meaningful service of others. Episode 3 - Growing a Culture of Faith In this third episode of our conversation with Steve Lawrence, we explore one of the most crucial questions facing our Church, our schools, and our families today: How do we grow a genuine culture of faith? Building on the previous episode's discussion about the challenges within education, Steve reflects on the fundamental truth that you cannot give what you do not have. A culture of faith begins with individuals who are rooted in prayer, silence, and a living relationship with Christ. Throughout the episode, Steve uses powerful imagery—fire that needs dry wood, soil that must be cleared, and seeds that grow only when tended—to illustrate how faith takes shape in the human heart. He speaks about the importance of making space for the Holy Spirit, of embracing silence in a noisy world, and of allowing God's mercy to transform us from within. The conversation highlights the need for authentic witness, reminding us that people are moved far more by lived faith than by instruction alone. We also reflect on the temptations that can arise within church communities, especially the danger of becoming like the “older brother” in the parable of the prodigal son—judgmental, hardened, or blind to our own need for conversion. Steve and Salwa discuss the beauty of welcoming families and children, even amidst the distractions they bring, because a noisy church is a sign of a growing one. They explore the humility required to step aside and allow God to work, as well as the courage to trust His timing in our personal mission and in the life of the Church. Ultimately, this episode is a heartfelt invitation to examine our own hearts and ask how we can personally contribute to a culture of faith. It reminds us that everything begins with intimacy with Christ, openness to grace, and the daily choice to let His love shine through us. Stay tuned for the next episode, where we turn to the themes of vocation and mission—discovering how each of us is called to live out our faith in a unique and transformative way. In this first episode of our four-part series, Salwa sits down with Steve Lawrence to explore the powerful story behind his life, his leadership, and the calling that shaped his mission. From his father's remarkable journey in Rhodesia, to the Jesuit mentor who changed the course of his family's faith, to Steve's own encounter with Jesus during a turbulent adolescence—this episode traces the key moments that formed the man he is today. Steve opens up about: The influence of a family priest and the legacy of encouragement. Growing up in a home marked by conflict, and discovering Jesus in the midst of darkness. His surprising path from professional AFL footballer to educator, missionary, and leader. How grace, vocation, and resilience shaped his passion for forming others Why encouragement and faith are at the heart of true leadership This deeply personal conversation sets the foundation for the rest of the series, inviting viewers to reflect on the people and moments that have shaped their own calling. Whether you're an educator, a leader, or simply someone searching for purpose, Steve's story is a reminder that God uses every experience—joy, pain, uncertainty—to prepare us for mission. Stay tuned for Episode 2, where we dive into the challenges facing leaders and educators today.
Two years into Israel's relentless bombardment of Gaza, we listen closely to Yaqeen Baker, a mother of two little daughters, Salwa (5) and Nusaiba (2). She shares what it means to be a mother under constant Israeli fire; to love, to fear, and to hope amid the destruction. We also hear the voice of little Salwa, who gives us a glimpse into her small, innocent world that the genocide has taken away. The interview was originally recorded in Arabic and translated into English accordingly. Thank you for tuning into This is Palestine, the official podcast of The IMEU! “Sometimes our own stories get snatched from us, hidden in darkness for years,” writes podcast guest Salwa Emerson, “until it's time to reclaim them.” Salwa is well-known to publishers as an author, editor and ghostwriter, specializing in memoirs, thought-leadership books, and book proposals. To hear her clients tell it, she has a way of bringing those stories out of hiding and into the light. She has collaborated with world-renowned chefs, professional athletes, reality television personalities, Oscar-winning actors, and Pulitzer Prize winners. Before turning to ghostwriting, she worked on the other side of the desk, for publishers such as St. Martin's Press and DK Publishing. Her most recent publication—The Conservative Environmentalist: Common Sense Solutions for a Sustainable Future, written with environmentalist Benji Backer—was hailed by former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger prior to publication as “an essential read that shows how protecting our natural resources and advancing America's national interests are mutually reinforcing goals.” Join us as Salwa shares her thoughts on helping to find an author's “voice”, the three clauses all ghostwriters should have in their contracts, and the best ways to engage with readers, fellow writers and potential clients. In this heartwarming episode of Stories from the River, host Charlie Malouf is joined by his mom, Salwa, and sister, Carmen, as they recount their experiences at the prestigious Furniture Industry Awards Gala. They retell the story of the surprise visit by Charlie's mom and how that came to fruition, including the experience at the airport when Charlie thought that he was only picking up his sister along with his Uncle Tommy Malouf who had flown in together from Tampa. After the surprise pickup, the four of them made their way from the Charlotte airport with a first stop in Salisbury, North Carolina, where they visited one of Broad River Retail's newest stores (a two-in-one Ashley Store & Outlet) that opened in 2023. Following the Salisbury store visit and a quick lunch, they continued on to High Point, North Carolina, where they attended High Point Market. In High Point Market, they primarily visited the Ashley Furniture showroom in the IHFC building. As they shopped the new introductions in the Ashley Furniture showroom in High Point, they got to meet Ashley Furniture executives including Ron Wanek, Todd Wanek, and even the 3rd generation of the Wanek family. They shared the story of how Ron Wanek presented Uncle Tommy with a touching silver dollar keepsake. Following their adventure from High Point Market, they made their way to the Convention Center at High Point University. This is where the Furniture Industry Awards Gala would be hosted, and Broad River Retail would be recognized as the Retailer of the Year. They recounted the story of getting access to the green room where they could change and get ready prior to the cocktail hour and the start of the show. The family discusses their time navigating the bustling event, sharing humorous and heartfelt moments, such as spending time in the luxurious green room and attending the cocktail reception. Throughout the episode, Carmen reflects on the valuable lessons learned from Charlie's long-standing involvement in the furniture industry, emphasizing the importance of hard work and dedication. Salwa expresses profound pride in Charlie's achievements and the kindness extended by his colleagues and industry professionals, noting how the positive impact of Charlie's work was evident during the gala.

Body positive - Bewegung hin oder her. Man ey.
She's the creator of 'Divine Sweat', a unique concept that connects the physical world to amplified life force energy. In this episode Salwa opens up about her new podcast, or as she intriguingly calls it, a 'portalcast', named 'Why'n Spirits.' This isn't just any podcast; it's a vehicle thru which she shares her spiritual journey. Salwa also delves into why she refers to herself as a Priestess of Yeshua, offering us a glimpse into her spiritual experiences and beliefs. She also shares how her divorce, reawakened her relationship with God. This podcast episode is about spiritual awakening, empowerment, and the beautiful interplay between the physical and the spiritual realms. You don't want to miss this very profound conversation. Salwa Kyobe has been a beloved TBM coach for awhile now, but she's moving on from TBM and stepping into her next adventure! So before she goes, we had to get one more episode in with her to capture the wisdom and insight she's given this community over the years– and she did not disappoint. This episode is chock full of actionable advice on how to “find your voice”– something you hear a lot in the self help world– but Jessica and Salwa break down what that actually looks like. They touch on topics like external validation, allowing yourself to be seen, having a healthy relationship with your anger, inner child wounds, people pleasing, and more. Salwa even gives us a peek behind the curtain on the blocks and triggers she faced in her journey of becoming a TBM coach. You also won't want to miss a bonus exercise from Jessica at the end of the episode where she really explains how to move past the blocks that are standing in the way of you using your authentic voice. HUGE thank you to Salwa for her years of wisdom and dedication to the TBM community!
