This week on All Ears, Abby is joined by E. Jean Carroll. Carroll is a journalist, memoirist, and the author of America's longest running advice column. She's also one of the many, many women who have come forward with sexual assault allegations against former President Donald Trump. When Trump denied the allegation Carroll sued him for defamation, and oral arguments are set to begin on December 3rd. Here, Carroll tells Abby her side of the story in vivid and exacting detail. What follows is a personal narrative in the hands of a master storyteller: E. Jean spins a web of drama, dry wit, and boundless vivacity as she recounts her childhood in Indiana, her lawsuit, the road trip that makes up the contents of her memoir, and what exactly it is that we need men for. Behind the Podcast | The Origin Stories and Business of Podcasting
or over two decades Mike Hill has been a road warrior traversing the challenging terrain of extreme music, renegade journalism and end times documentarianism. Hill is known for fronting the metal band Tombs, who have released records on Metal Blade and Relapse Records, with 2011's Path of Totality getting the tap for Decibel Magazine's Record of the Year. The band has toured extensively and have performed at notable festivals such as Roadburn, Maryland Death Fest, Roskilde Festival, Ieper Fest and most recently Ozzfest Meets Knotfest. His written work has been published in Noisey, Revolver, Bandcamp Daily and Decibel. Hill is also a DJ at Gimme Radio, a streaming metal channel curated by notable artists in the genre, including Megadeth's Dave Mustaine, Lamb of God's Randy Blythe and Dillinger Escape Plan's Ben Weinman. The Everything Went Black Podcast is a reflection of Mike Hill’s own psyche addressing the creative, intellectual and physical aspects of the human experience. For those out there that choose to live apart from flock, who embrace individuality, Everything Went Black should be a regular part of your world. The complexity of modern man is oft time under-served and under-estimated. As Miyamoto Musashi wrote “to know the way broadly, is to see it in all things”. Why not embrace all aspects of life and celebrate the Savage Life of a self-realized individual?
And now a rambling and too brief biography of Erik Larsen, the creator of "Savage Dragon" and the first of the Image founders we will be covering on this podcast.

Pitching will be the focus as the deadline approaches, who should the Yankees make a move for? The episode concludes with the HR Tracker and look ahead to the road trip in Minny and Boston.

The Learning Leader Show With Ryan Hawk #311: Adam Savage Full show notes can be found at www.LearningLeader.com Adam Savage was the co-host and Executive Producer of the hit show, MythBusters on the Discovery Channel. Fourteen years, 1,015 myths, 2,950 experiments, eight Emmy nominations and 83 miles of duct tape later, the series ended in March 2016. He is the author of Every Tool's a Hammer - Life Is What You Make It. Be part of "Mindful Monday" -- Text LEARNERS to 44222 Notes Leaders who sustain excellence = "Obsession is the gravity of making" Obsession towards the project -- A "desire to see the thing they made to your satisfaction." Adam on failure: "I don't trust people who haven't failed." What it means to be a great boss? Give great opportunities... "The time, the facilities, reason, and logic." "Hey, you're doing great." Let employees have the space they need. "There's nothing better than when someone leading a team project can just run with it." "Give total autonomy with narrow bandwidth. Give ownership." Being a generalist -- "The specialist wasn't always helpful because answers are within the context of a wider story." It's very damaging to ask a nine year old what they want to be when they grow up: "Excellence --> The things we cannot stop thinking about." That's what we should strive to be when we grow up. Someone who pursues their curiosity and obsessions with great rigor. The WHO "I think about my relationships all the time." The people you consciously choose to have in your life are everything "Am I serving those relationships? Am I being present and non-judgmental with them? Am I with them in the room?" Stop getting mad at customer service -- It's not their fault. And you'll feel better about yourself. Adam on his preparation process for a big speech: It depends on the engagement, but it's extensive. There are 2 specifics: Record yourself and listen to it -- "It illuminates where you're not hitting your mark. It's the transitions typically. How you link them together as a narrative whole." Memorize conceptually -- Practice, practice practice. Get the reps. Communication as a leader -- "Story is completely vital to leadership in every way." "Language was invented to tell stories." Pay attention to how they people who move you tell stories How playing quarterback is similar to a work of art There is always something changing -- You must adjust on the fly How to become more self-aware? Write everything down -- Keep a journal of your thoughts. Reflect. Be introspective Have someone on your team who will tell you the truth. "It's all about the team." How Adam lowered stress level: Stopped drinking alcohol Slept more Started meditating Increase your loose tolerance Learn by doing -- Take action -- "Creation is iteration." Being wrong isn't failing You don't have to have everything in place to start Be easier on yourself during the iterations Share everything: We love the myth of the lone genius, yet none of us make stuff in a vacuum. Share credit, ideas, everything. Increase generosity through sharing Use more cooling fluid: It takes more time on the front end, and forces time to clean up on the back end, but it gives more value to the final product -- "It's a reminder to slow down and reduce the friction in your work and relationships." Sweep up every day: "A clean workbench gives energy. It helps the future me." Leave a place better than you found it The cultural malaise currently is based on the scarcity model. Wrong. There is enough food, be a giver. Be generous. Use the "Get To Know You Document" Why joining The Learning Leader Circle is a good idea

Savage is usually a stereotype where men take the lead but often times if women engaged in savage behavior is becomes a double standard. During this episode it was important to first identify what a savage means. The Locker Room Podcast put a microscope on this subject and there were some interesting perspectives that came across the table. What is the difference between a savage or a roller? Why do men get a pass for savage behavior and women don't? Lastly, how would you teach your daughter how to move in a room full of vultures? All these questions got addressed on this episode and we look forward to hearing your feedback. Stay tune because we will be having the woman's point of view coming real soon on the topic of being a "SAVAGE"..... Thanks for stopping through our podcast, please subscribe, listen and check it out!
Tune in to hear about the Saved savage lifestyle of Peter and how it correlates with my current lifestyle as a believer.

In 1835, settlers in Australia discovered a European man dressed in kangaroo skins, a convict who had escaped an earlier settlement and spent 32 years living among the natives of southern Victoria. In this week's episode of the Futility Closet podcast we'll review the extraordinary life of William Buckley, the so-called "wild white man" of colonial Australia. We'll also try to fend off scurvy and puzzle over some colorful letters. Intro: Radar pioneer Sir Robert Watson-Watt wrote a poem about ironically being stopped by a radar gun. We've done types of monster, and monstrous behavior, but you know what we haven't done? Monstrous locations! And I can't think of a better place to start than a country that once waged a war against a bird and lost.
