Dr. Matthew Nagra joins “The Weight Loss Champion” Chuck Carroll on The Exam Room LIVE to talk about the findings and how he believes researchers missed the mark by such a wide margin. As he points out, the data could also be interpreted to show another major carcinogen could also extend your life. But nobody is arguing that smoking is the key to longevity. Dr. Nagra also answers questions sent into The Doctor's Mailbag. - Is chicken a healthier option? - Are lean meats harmful to heart health? - Can chocolate increase cholesterol? - Does sugar increase cholesterol? - Many more! The idea of taking meat off the menu and opting for a plant-based diet is gaining steam in the National Football League. It was only a few years ago that numerous players on the Tennessee Titans roster explored the idea. Now, there are members of the Philadelphia Eagles who have become “veg curious” and one player who is eating fully plant-based. Sports dietitian and performance chef Brittany Dunn is tasked with fueling their bodies and minds with proper nutrition so they can excel on the field. Clearly, she's good at her job. The team secured a coveted spot in the playoffs this past season. She joins “The Weight Loss Champion” Chuck Carroll to talk about working with player to optimize their nutritional needs and how veg curiosity is expanding beyond the locker room. Eagles staff members are also warming to the idea. Clear up false food facts on the season finale of The Exam Room! There is a dizzying amount of misinformation spread about plant-based diets on a daily basis. You need meat to survive. There is no way that you will get enough nutrients. Dairy is required in order to have strong bones. You won't live as long if you just eat plants. When you first consider going vegan it can be nearly impossible to know what to believe and who to trust. However, the confusion ends today because the truth stops here. Dr. Matthew Nagra joins “The Weight Loss Champion” Chuck Carroll to talk about five of the biggest “false facts” regarding what happens to your health by taking meat and dairy off the menu. Dr. Nagra is quickly becoming one of the most trusted nutrition advocates in his home country of Canada and worldwide thanks to a strong internet following. He presents compelling and scientifically-backed arguments on the following claims: - You can't get all the nutrients you need by eating a plant-based diet. - Vegans are more likely to have brittle and broken bones. - Plant sources of protein are inferior to animal proteins. - It is hard to get enough iron without eating meat. - Soy is unhealthy and causes a man's chest to become unsightly. To that last point, wait until you hear the unexpected food that Dr. Nagra says is one of the biggest reasons men grow breast tissue. — — — Chuck Carroll Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ChuckCarrollWLC Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ChuckCarrollWLC Facebook: http://wghtloss.cc/ChuckFacebook — — — Dr. Matthew Nagra Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/dr.matthewnagra Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dr.matthewnagra Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/dr.matthewnagra — — — 21-Day Vegan Kickstart App iOS: https://bit.ly/VegKStrt-iOS Android: https://bit.ly/VegKStrtAndrd Web: https://www.pcrm.org/kickstart — — — Barnard Medical Center Appointments https://bit.ly/BMCtelemed 202-527-7500 — — — Share the Show Please subscribe and give the show a 5-star rating on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or many other podcast providers. This is a double celebration! First, Kristie Sullivan, MPH, joins us we take a look back at how we were able to save the lives of thousands of animals over the last year—including ending deadly live animal labs for emergency medicine training at Vanderbilt University and paramedic training at the University of Washington. We also shut down lethal dog labs for veterinary training at Tuskegee University and Auburn University. In fact, the Physicians Committee is the only national group working to end “terminal” surgery labs in veterinary schools. That is why we need your support to continue our lifesaving work for both animals and humans. All donations will be matched up to $200,000 through Dec. 31. While Dr. Asha Subramanian was helping her patients get well, she was quietly suffering through her own health struggles. She battled endometriosis from an early age, and the debilitating pain only grew worse with time. As a young doctor, the disease had grown so bad that she was told if she didn't have children in the near future she would risk never being able to get pregnant. The issues would continue for years as traditional therapies only provided scant relief. But she discovered that she could greatly improve her condition through food and began combining a plant-based diet with modern medicine. Finally, she found relief and was thrilled to become a proud parent of a healthy daughter. Dr. Subramanian opens up about her struggle for the first time in hopes of helping others facing the same challenges. She shares her secrets for defeating endometriosis with diet! Chuck also revisits a conversation with Dr. Neal Barnard in an Exam Room Rewind where Dr. Barnard delves into the story of an endometriosis patient who was in the middle of a hysterectomy when doctors declared she had been miraculously cured. Was it an actual miracle or was it the change she made to her diet that caused the disease to vanish? Dr. Barnard also details how a diet that is heavy on meat and dairy, but light on fruits and vegetables, can cause hormonal issues and fuel endometriosis. — — — Dr. Asha Subramanian Web: https://www.diyalifestyleandwellness.com Twitter: https://twitter.com/DrAshaSub Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/diyalifestyleandwellness — — — Dr. Neal Barnard Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/drnealbarnard Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/drnealbarnard Facebook: http://bit.ly/DrBarnardFB Your Body In Balance: https://amzn.to/2UvAfxW — — — Know Your Endo Order: https://amzn.to/3m0rZQW — — — Chuck Carroll Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ChuckCarrollWLC Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ChuckCarrollWLC Facebook: http://wghtloss.cc/ChuckFacebook — — — 21-Day Vegan Kickstart App iOS: https://bit.ly/VegKStrt-iOS Android: https://bit.ly/VegKStrtAndrd Web: https://www.pcrm.org/kickstart — — — Barnard Medical Center Appointments https://bit.ly/BMCtelemed 202-527-7500 — — — Share the Show Please subscribe and give the show a 5-star rating on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or many other podcast providers. An episode of just over 20 mins inspired by reading some of Van Gogh's letters to his brother Theo. This became a longer episode than I thought it would be and includes ponderings on Imagist poetry, including readings of Ezra Pound, F.S.Flint, D.H Lawrence and Amy Lowell...Also considerations of line and music, nature and soul and with an added bonus of my cat Charley sneezing - many times at one point! The book of Leviticus is God's Words to Moses to teach the priests and people how they should live. It tells them how to offer sacrifices to the Lord, and talks about the various festivals that God wanted them to follow during the year. These were the laws which the people followed, and we refer to them as the Levitical laws. In this devotion, we are going to categorize these laws into three groups: civil law, ceremonial law, and moral law. "...you are to teach the people of Israel all the statutes that the Lord has spoken to them by Moses."Leviticus 10:11 Support the Show Please prayerfully consider supporting our ministry at https://buymeacoffee.com/donutsanddevos. An inside look at They're Trying to Kill Us from the creators of the groundbreaking documentary. John Lewis and Keegan Kuhn join “The Weight Loss Champion” Chuck Carroll to discuss the making of the film and the systemic issues that are driving health inequality in the United States.
