Welcome to this very special podcast episode where we discuss in-depth the recent Medical Journal of Australia supplement collection of five research articles highlighting the successes of the RVTS programme. I am joined by RVTS CEO Dr Pat Giddings and Assoc. Professor Belinda O'Sullivan from the University of Queensland who conducted the research that led to the publications. This episode will be of interest to anyone concerned about General Practice rural workforce shortage, those wanting to know how to support GP registrars in rural and remote areas, the special ingredients required in a successful remote supervision model, the training and support of Overseas Trained doctors to gain GP fellowship and providing meaningful First Nations Cultural training and support for GP registrars. This is a long episode, so grab your coffee or plug-in as you drive to and from work to hear the research findings detailing what has made RVTS so successful in achieving impressive workplace retention as well as fellowship success for the past, nearly 25 years. Timestamps are noted below in case you want to fast forward to an area of special interest but I thoroughly recommend you taking the time to listen to the whole episode as there are many hidden gems. That's how you tell if you ever want to know the difference between, like, a really good leader and a not so good leader, watch them when things are not going well for them." — David Armano [00:17:05 → 00:17:20] On Navigating Career Changes: "I think it's a healthy experience to go through, to go through a crisis of some kind in your life, and it sucks when it happens to you and you're suddenly without an employer or without a lifeline or without a safety net or whatever motivates you." — Dan Nestle [00:17:54 → 00:18:10] On Grief and Growth: "Grief is both ugly and beautiful. It's ugly in the sense that it's painful... But there's a lot of gifts that do come with grieving." — David Armano [00:20:59 → 00:22:20] On Ageism in the Workplace: "Age is actually sort of, you know, in most white collar cultures, it's something they kind of want to stay away from because of everything that we're talking about, because it's the one acceptable ism in the world of white collar work." — David Armano [00:28:31 → 00:28:45] On the Evolution of Work: "The thing is, though, that there are so many, there's so much happening around us now that I think that the nature of work and the nature of this framework that almost all of corporate America at least functions within, which is that you age out, it's got to change, and it's changing in some places, but it really needs to change." — Dan Nestle [00:31:38 → 00:31:54] On AI and Entry-Level Work: "AI does what likes, like someone coming into the workforce with no experience or very little experience. The tasks that you would give to those employees is what AI excels at." — David Armano [00:35:20 → 00:35:30] On the Future of Work: "It's never been such a good time to be a CEO of TBD." — David Armano [00:42:28 → 00:42:31] On the Role of AI: "One thing that AI is great at and should get better at is that is that first draft, that first draft of a business plan, that first draft of any written communication, that first draft of a data, to use your example, like first draft, the data analysis, it's really good at that." — David Armano [01:00:14 → 01:00:30] Resources and Links Dan Nestle The Trending Communicator | Website Daniel Nestle | LinkedIn Dan Nestle | Twitter/X David Armano David Armano's Website David Armano | LinkedIn David By Design | David Armano on Substack Timestamped key moments from this episode (as generated by Fireflies.ai)

Curious to know what it takes to bust through barriers and get other people eager and excited to help you build out your vision. Do you believe deep down you are capable of becoming an influential leader? Well, A leader must influence others to achieve the company’s goals. They must as well gain the respect of their followers to influence them. Achieving this may not be easy, as you are to make the critical decisions of the organization. But, if you want to be an influential leader and get the respect of your followers, these simple strategies will help you, whether you’re a beginner leader or have been a leader for many years. Be a leader in training. To become an influential leader, you have to invest in learning to grow your expertise. Do not stop where you are. Always be eager to learn from other leaders. Work on becoming great at what you’re already good at, and then scale up by learning more. As a leader, you need to know more than others. The more you know, the more help you can offer to your followers. Your followers will respect you by how competent you become and the effort you made to learn more. Put others first The best leader is the one who puts the interest of others first. Know that you’re as good as them. Whenever you make personal sacrifices for those under you, they get to know you care about ‘us’ more than ‘me.’ You need to shift your energy from ‘me’ to ‘we.’ Say, ‘we need to get more clients,’ instead of’ I need to get more clients.’ ‘We need to close more sales;’ instead of ‘I need to close more sales.’ Focus on helping your followers get what they want. Put them in places that will help them grow and achieve their career goals. When people enjoy the jobs they are doing and succeed in their careers, the organization benefits. Believe in yourself To become an influential leader, you need to have confidence in your abilities and the abilities of others. Fall in love with yourself, your personality, and the perspectives that make you uniquely you. You don’t need the know-how or when to do it. Get things done. It starts with what you think of yourself. It’s about discovering what you value, what inspires you, what challenges you, and what gives you energy. When you find out these qualities about yourself, you’ll also lead those qualities out of others. Learn from your past mistakes and believe in yourself. Have mission and vision People don’t just follow a leader; they follow his mission and vision as well. You need to possess an idea that other people will want to share and follow. As a leader of influence, you have to look ahead and see where you’re taking the company and your people. Having a vision will provide motivation and inspiration to keep going. Be result-oriented and have an eye for vision strong enough to carry you through the end. Final thoughts Everyone can lead, but sometimes you don’t know-how. Invest in yourself and keep on learning, put others first, believe in yourself, and have a mission and vision to carry you through to the end. The ultimate guide to becoming a guest on someone’s podcast Podcasting is a powerful (and free) marketing strategy to help you mega-boost your brand authority - FAST! In fact it's my super-secret (top of marketing sale funnel technique) that has recently landed me an $81,000 contract. (Yes, you read that right). Not only has podcasts become hugely popular in the last decade, with over 75 million listeners tuning in each day in the U.S. alone. It's also one of my favorite media outlets because all you need is a smartphone, a headset, and something to say. And after roughly a 20-60 minute interview, your voice is published straight to the ears of millions. How incredible is that?! Guest podcasting helps you gain more exposure and quickly build the know, like trust factor with your prospective clients because you are literally in their ear, educating and inspiring them to strive for more. Here are a few reasons why I think you should consider putting guest podcasting in your marketing mix: You'll reach an entirely new and engaged audience. You can quickly and easily build trust. No fancy or expensive equipment necessary (bonus!) No hair or make-up required to show up for the interview (double bonus!) Once published, you can easily repurpose the interview for marketing material across other platforms for years and years to come. New prospect clients joining your email list (aka potential money in the bank) How To Get Booked As A Guest A client of mine recently asked, "How do you know who will have you on their show?" The short answer. You won't know if you don't ask. Popular podcasts receive many pitches, so your pitch MUST stand out amongst the rest to receive a prompt response from the podcast producer. Ways in which you can become a podcast guest: You can reach out to the podcast producer directly The podcast producer invites you to join the show A third party podcast platform connects you and the podcast producer directly Reach out to podcast producers. I'm a massive fan of taking matters into your own hands and being the one to create an opportunity for yourself. I suggest that you get started by researching shows you'd love to appear on and put together a well-polished podcast pitch. Before you begin searching for a podcast to guest post on, make sure you're crystal clear on who you're trying to reach with your message and what problem you wish to help them solve. Then craft your pitch. Be sure that each pitch you write is uniquely written for each podcast producer. Don't just send a canned email with a link to your podcast pdf; actually, listen to a few episodes of the show you're pitching and add specific details as to why you love that show and how you can provide value to their audience. Remember: make it about what they'll gain, not you. Your email pitch campaign should be short with a few paragraphs with enough information for your hosts to determine if you're a good fit. Write a few sentences about who you are, your topic idea, key bullet points you'll share, and your credentials. Say what you'd like to discuss on the show and explain what value you can bring to their audience. Bonus points if you craft an SEO friendly title and provide pre-written questions that the host can ask you in your podcast pdf pitch deck with a high-resolution headshot. The more comfortable you can do it on the production team, the more likely you'll be selected as a guest on their show. To help you craft the perfect pitch and gain visibility quickly, GET THE PODCAST PITCH KIT. Find A "Media Doppelganger." What's a media doppelganger, you ask? Great questions! It's someone who has similar expertise as you and a more extensive PR exposure whom you'd like to emulate. *note that I did NOT say copy For example, you're a personal trainer who helps postpartum mamas get their pre-baby body back. Head to Google and search for other well-known pros in your arena of expertise. Go to their media page on their website (if they have one) to see which podcasts they've previously been published. If they haven't listed their appearance on their website, you can type [their name + "podcast"] into the search bar on Google, iTunes, Stitcher, or the like to find where they've been featured. After you've researched your doppelganger's press past, please search for the show producers' contact information and send them a personalized message. Stay Organized Organize your show leads by creating a podcast outreach spreadsheet that will help you track which podcast has responded to you and who have said yes or no to having you as their guest. Your spreadsheet will include details like: Podcast name Podcast topic Podcast website Host contact info Record of pitches sent Record of received responses A section of follow-ups Better yet, invest only $27 and GET THE PODCAST PITCH KIT, which includes both a pre-made Google spreadsheet and Trello board to help keep you or your VA organized. The podcast reaches out to you. The more podcast guesting you do, the more likely other shows will invite you to collaborate. But let's say, for example, that you're a newbie, and this is your first go at getting booked? How might you get a podcast producer to reach out to you? Here are a few simple ways to encourage podcast producers to reach out to you: Ask your circle of influence, ask those closest to you if they know of any podcast producers seeking guests, and let them know that you're interested in being considered a contributor. Join podcast 'pods' (i.e. Facebook groups). Keep your eye on producers who say that they're looking for guests to feature on their show. Introduce yourself to the community and let the co-creators in the group to which you can bring value. Show your interest in being a guest by liking, subscribing, and leaving regular thoughtful and relevant comments that add value under their show notes or social posts. Create high-value content that brings massive value to their audience; doing so will increase your chances of being a guest when you reference it on a podcast. Connection by a third party platform The third strategy involves guests and podcasts, connecting through a third-party platform. For a fee, a third-party organization will connect you with opportunities. Here's my go-to pick for helping you get connected with other podcast hosts. In conclusion, becoming a podcast guest is a smart marketing (and did I mention FREE) strategy to help you build credibility. Not only will you refine your brand's message as you go and be exposed to new prospective clients, but you'll also be creating opportunities to turn your guest podcast interview into evergreen money generating machine. For more clarity on how to do this, link to the video linked above and watch the interview, I did with Visibility Vixen, Michelle Lewis. Does the thought of having to sell your high-level group coaching program make your stomach turn or your knees knock? Well, Read on because, in this post, I’m going to share my six-part sales strategy with you so that you can max out your high-level group coaching program enrollment fast. This is step five of a five-part series, where I’m helping you create, launch, and sell your high-level group coaching program. This series is the exact strategy I used in my business to ditch the one-on-one coaching model and successfully launch my high-level group coaching program in less than five days earning just under $12,000. If you missed the first four steps of the five episodes, I highly suggest going back and have a read. Over there, you’ll learn: How to get crystal clear on your promise to clients How to outline and identify your process to help them. How to package your first group coaching program How to price your group coaching program Step five is all about sales and what you need precisely to pitch your high-level group coaching program successfully, and to fill up those enrollment sits fast. While I’m a huge fan of leveraging online intelligent marketing sales strategies to automate things, it’s essential to connect with your prospective client when you’re first starting. One of my sales tips and tricks is that I didn’t leverage the online space to launch my program in five days. I did it the old fashion way. I picked up the phone and made some calls. Think about who you can be calling and do the same. When you’re on those calls, exercise not only the six sales strategies I’m teaching here, but for the first initial touchpoint, I want you to use the quiet method. Ask open-ended questions, understand their problem, investigate and identify some of their core objectives, and then empathize with them to let them know that you know what they’re going through. The six steps in sales strategies I love to give credit where credit is due. I originally learned this from Tony Robbins in his business Mastery Class. Identify and connect When you’re on a call with your prospective client, you need to spend the first 40% of the call asking those open-ended questions leveraging the quiet method, and understanding the client’s needs, desires and objectives. This is your opportunity to not make it about you, but to enthusiastically get the prospective client to say all out loud, “Me too, Yes, me too.” This is your time frame to connect with them on a deeper level. Logic This is the perfect time to give your prospective clients facts or statistics, taking them through a quick overview of the transformation experience they will have with you inside your group coaching program. Keep this short, maybe 10% of your call. Provide some logic for them and let them know why it would be logically a good idea to learn more about your program and ultimately enroll. Attack and confront Just like any good game, we know that the defense wins. Your sales strategy has to be the same. You need to have a defense. Get in front of the objectives. Your prospective clients may have two main objectives: they don’t have time or don’t have enough money to invest right now. Prepare your sales pitch in such a way that you’re the first person to bring up those objectives. Don’t wait for them to say it. This will put you in a power position, and when it comes time to ask them if they have any other questions, most likely, they will say no because you attacked and confronted them head-on. Pain Push on that pain a little bit. Remind them why they set up this recovery call in the first place. Maybe something is not going right in their marriage, finances, business, or health, and they are either completely ignoring the signs and symptoms, or perhaps they figured out a way to deal with it on a high level. Solve This is your opportunity to lift the bandage off and remind them of the open wound they have, and you’re going to be the person who can help heal them by then presenting your solution in your high-level group coaching program. Ask for the sale Collect the payment, have them sign the contract, and celebrate with your victory dance. Conclusion It’s time to get in motion; it’s your turn to take some massive action to create, launch, and sell your high-level group coaching program. Start putting together your prospective list. Create a simple handwritten sheet with a name and phone number, make those calls, and share this opportunity with them. Well, Have no fear because I’ll be sharing with you the five strategies to help you land on the perfect price for your group coaching program. This is step four of a five-part series, helping you create, launch, and sell your high-level coaching program. I used the exact five steps to pave out of my living from pay-check to pay-check to creating my program and landing $11,964 in just five days. If you missed steps one, two, and three of the five episodes, I highly recommend going back and have a read. Over there, you will learn how to get crystal clear on your promise to clients, how to outline and identify your process to help them, and how to package your first group coaching program, respectively. I’m so happy and grateful that you’ve taken your time to dive into this five-part series. Not only have I proved it in my own business’s health, but also to one of my clients who barely afforded $5 for an initial coffee meet-up and was facing eviction. She went through the series and successfully turned her life around, earning her $200,000 in her first year of high-level coaching. So, If she can do it, if I can do it, you can do it! Here are the five quick strategies to help you land on the perfect price for your program. Identify your value results, both tangible and intangible. Write down both the tangible and the intangible value results that your prospective clients will get from going through your program. Some of the intangible values include a sense of peace, joy, and freedom. Tangible costs are things you can quantify. Examples include an increased number of clients, increased sales, and the number of inches lost around their waist. Identify the financial value of your own experience and expertise. If you have the experience of helping people in your professional life, in your regular 9-5 job, where you earn $50 per hour, for example, and you’re just paving it into your side hustle, then you could hold yourself still at that $50 per hour value. If you’re entirely a newbie, you just decided into navigating the coaching world; for your high-level group coaching program, I recommend that you go anywhere from $497 to $997 for a start. For experts who have a proven background, education backed, professional development, and who have gotten their clients’ real-life results, you can price your monthly coaching program anywhere from $2500 to $3000. These are just suggestions. Ultimately, the best strategy that can work is, find a quiet place, calm yourself, take a deep breath, and then ask yourself the question, “What’s the perfect price for my program?” And then listen, your intuition will give you an answer, it might be in the form of a whisper, but you will get an answer. Jot that number down, pen to paper, and then give it a day or so and see if it feels okay. Do know that, even if you get one number, you can always change it. You’re the boss; there are no rules. Think about the goals If you work currently in a 9-5 gig, and you’re trying to turn your side hustle coaching into a full-time salary, then you need to set targets that will make the equivalent of what your 9-5 gig is. If you’re earning about $50,000 in a year, and you’re ready to ditch your 9-5 gig, then set that target goal of $50,000 or more. Remember, you’re the boss; there’s no right or wrong answer here. Reverse engineer your target goal and ask yourself, “How much time do I want to spend with each of my clients in this high-level group coaching program? How much can I charge them that I would feel comfortable? How many people do I want to serve?” Understand conversion rates In the online marketing world, especially if you’re a newbie, you need to learn that if you’re going to rely on just email marketing, your conversion rate is about 1%. Whenever you decide to land on your ideal number of clients inside of your group coaching program, you need to divide that by 1% so that you know how many people you need to reach via email to have a shot at closing that sale at that price. If you’re going to do more of the old school, when you’re just beginning, and you have no email list, I highly recommend you do this. It’s exactly what I did to land my first round of clients and to successfully create, launch, and sell my group coaching program within a week. A typical conversion for over the phone closure is 25% to 75%. If you’re terrible and you’re closing with 25%, and you aim to enroll ten students, that means you’re going to speak to at least 40 people. Set up a merchant account You can use something like Skrill, Stripe, or whatever account works for you. Do factor in that your merchant account does take a 3% service fee. When you’re reverse calculating your target goal, and you’re landing on that perfect price for yourself, make sure to consider that 3% fee. Conclusion There is no wrong or right answer for creating your perfect price for your program. It’s okay to try something out and change it later. When it comes to creating your own coaching business, there are no rules. You’re the boss; you decide. What we need to know about the right pricing as it relates to your home and selling your home this year. You do not want to give buyers a perception that something is wrong with your house by pricing it high and then waiting too long to reduce your price. If you start off and price it right from the beginning, you're going to be a much better situation. It's really important that you find a marketing plan or realtor that has an actual market marketing plan.Quote: "You can price your home higher and you can bring it down."Time Notes:[01:12] You Don't Get A Second Shot On The Price Is Right.
