Legendary writer, Greg Weisman (Gargoyles, Young Justice, Star Wars: Rebels) was kind enough to chat with us about 'Catwoman: Hunted', available today, Tuesday, February 8, 2022 on 4k and Digital. Weisman talks about the differences between writing original characters versus already established properties and how there are creative ways to discuss new stories using those legacy heroes and villains. He makes no bones about Catwoman (voice by Elizabeth Gillies) being a feminist role model, but that she does use her femininity and sexuality in able to adapt not only to various situations but to achieve her objectives -- even if it is flirting with Batwoman (voiced by Stephanie Beatriz). Weisman shares his creative process and allows us, even ever so briefly into his creative mind. Elizabeth Gillies proves kitties got claws in this Anime style, campy feature, 'Catwoman: Hunted' available on 4K and Digital, Tuesday, February 8, 2022. Elizabeth Gillies (Dynasty, Vacation, Victorious) voices the felonious, ferocious, fatal, feline in 'Catwoman: Hunted', an anime style feature penned by Gargoyles creator, Greg Weisman and directed by Shinsuke Terasawa, in conjunction with DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation. Catwoman uses all the tricks she's learned over the years to pull one over on Black Mask (Jonathan Banks) and Tobias Whale (Keith David) along with the help of Batwoman (Stephanie Beatriz) and a few other ladies that lurk in the shadows of Gotham City. We had a chance to speak with Gillies about bringing this iconic character to life in this in carnation of Catwoman and what it was like to give a different spin on Batman's love interest over 80s since she was first brought into the comics. You want a complicated man? A seeker and thinker and brilliant multi-hyphenate? You gotta check our episode with Krondon. The actor-rapper-author-speaker brings it in this episode--giving us plenty of laughs and revealing his inspiring thought processes. From plumbing the depths of his character Tobias Whale on CW's Black Lightning to breaking down the “5 Ps” of trauma that need to be undone to live happily (you've got to hear it to fully get it), Krondon drops so many gems that it's hard to track them all. But as much as big ideas and his acting work are on the table, there's also plenty of rap chat, including lots of talk about the artist's legendary LA group, Strong Arm Steady. This episode is riveting in all the best ways, and is sure to captivate new and longtime Krondon fans.
In this episode, romance author, Charmyra E. Fleming kicks off the 16th episode delving into "M.A.I. Quote of the Day" by Tobias Whale, Black Lightening. Followed by her thoughts on the reveal of the book cover for her third book, "Perfect Chemistry". This week's "M.A.I. Sip of the Week" she shares a refreshing sip, "Giggle Juice Cocktail". Closing out this episode, with a little Prince Purple History! As always, the Creative Calfuray, "M.A.I." Branded Merchandise is available on the Creative Calfuray website and Etsy. Black Lightning's legacy lies in giving us a world where Black people are empowered and where Black people win. Black Lightning has given us four seasons of culturally relevant sci-fi drama, and the Pierce family has been its center. In the season finale, the family show up for one another and for Freeland and take a final stand against Tobias Whale. here is my thoughts on a show that i have loved for a long time! i am so sad to see it go but it is a wrap with a great finale. let's talk about it. We already know that it's the final season - at least for this iteration - which means now we get to see how this Book will close. How does this CW show deal with not just police violence against citizens, but citizen violence against the police. And hears the kicker...the police already know that Jefferson did it. Points On The Board is a podcast where managing editor, Kyle Harvey, Shadow League contributors, and guests break down the top stories from sports, culture and more. The one benchmark for every iconic superhero is to have an equally as cold super-villain. Batman has the Joker. Professor X will always be frienemies with Magneto. T’Challa and Killmonger are killing cousins. Hey Aunty. Tobias Whale is the super gangsta in the super hood for the CW's hit series Black Lightning. Played by actor Marvin Jones III aka @Krondon in rap circles, Whale has crept up the short but very strong list of iconic black cinema villains. The Strong Arm Steady emcee stopped by the Shadow League office to put some points on the board. We take a deep dive into his career on both the music and film side, including: Writing for himself and other Cali emcees. Growing up in LA with albinism. The greatness of Blade, Robert Townsend, and the legacy of Meteor Man. Why Dr. Dre is the Bill Belichick of West Coast Hip Hop. Most Iconic 90s Black Hood Villain And more. Rate. Comment. Subscribe.
