The awareness of the toxins in our food, cleaning products, clothes, household items, and beauty products is growing, and let me first say thank goodness to the experts who are bringing these conversations to the table. But, if you're a busy mom like me, we take all of this information and immediately get overwhelmed with not knowing where to start. I tend to take information like this, combine it with my mama bear love and protective instincts for my family, and go into overhaul mode, throwing everything out in sheer panic, which exhausts me and causes burnout. Fear-driven action at its finest! Does anyone else do the same? Well, I'm here to tell you, there IS hope and a MUCH better way.Drum roll, please! I bring you, Tonya Harris! Tonya is an award-winning environmental toxin expert and founder of Slightly Greener. She “offers busy women simple tips to reduce toxins without turning their family's lifestyle upside-down.” Sign me up for THAT! Tonya has been featured in multiple online and print publications such as Parents, Reader's Digest, MindBodyGreen, Insider, and Martha Stewart Living. Most recently, she was featured in Better Homes and Gardens Magazine with a beautiful article titled, “The Nose Knows.” She has also appeared on TV shows across the country, such as Great Day Washington, CBS New York, CBS Los Angeles, and The Dr. Oz Show, for her expertise in environmental toxins, holistic nutrition, and how toxins affect children. Tonya's book, The Slightly Greener Method: Detoxifying Your Home is Faster, Easier, & Less Expensive Than You Think, is a must-have resource for mamas who want to clean up their environment without the stress, fear, frustration, and overwhelm that comes from an often seemingly daunting task.Tonya and I had a beautiful conversation discussing how she came to develop this method, where she gained her knowledge, and ways she has approached living greener incorrectly in the past. She gives us starting points, debunks my incorrect theories, and helps us take the first step forward in the right direction without fear. You'll want to grab a pen and paper for this one, ladies. For more information and an incredible resource to have on hand, I highly recommend Tonya's book, which can be found anywhere books are sold. Products Mentioned:Bissell Steamshot CleanerForce of Nature Multi-purpose Cleaner, Disinfectant, and DeodorizerFollow Tonya  Website - www.slightlygreener.comIG - @slightlygreenerFB - facebook.com/SlightlyGreenerHAVE A HARD TIME STICKING TO THOSE HEALTHY HABITS?I've put together a FREE, easy-to-use, customizable tool for you to get back on track (or stay on track).Click the link below to get your free habit tracker today: FREE Habit Tracker------------Join the Mom: In-Process Community:Facebook InstagramWebsite Don't forget to check out the latest swag! Get your Mom: In-Process merch today https://www.mominprocess.com/shop

Usually when we talk about health, we connect it with the food that we eat, but it isn’t all about the food. Health is also  affected by the condition of the air we breathe, the things that touch our skin and by the usual things we have in our home, especially stuff that is in our cupboards, kitchen, bathrooms, etc.  In today’s episode of Live Your Dreams Awake, we are going to have a great conversation with award-winning environmental toxin expert, Tonya Harris. She is a childhood cancer survivor, speaker, author and founder of slightlygreener.com, a company created for moms who prefer the no-pressure approach to detoxifying life. Whether you are experiencing health issues or worried about your kid’s health or just want to reinvent your lifestyle, this episode is a must-listen to.  Enjoy listening! REMEMBER -  "You don't know what you don't know until you do know." This week's Feng Shui tip is raising the vibrancy and energy around your home. So how can you do that? Well you can invite in more animals and wildlife around you by adding more nature to the outside, to inside of your home. For example having some bird box or some bird feeders in your garden to invite in birds and wildlife and nature into your garden, bringing in more plants, more color that all add more vibrancy and energy into your home. So start filling your life up with more vibrancy by attracting more wildlife into your home. WHAT WE COVER DURING THIS EPISODE: What are moments in Tonya Harris’ life that led her to become interested in the effects of toxins in the health, to become an environmental toxicity specialist? Where does someone start in their house with looking at these toxins? Alternative cleaning products that you can instead use. Her journey - How she was able to put herself out there and share her message? Feng Shui's Fast Magic experience of Tonya. Something to look out for from Tonya - a book deal which will be released next August. Other items to be aware of that have toxins in it - candles. Human biology is an amazing thing in that it is equipped to deal with stress in small doses. The problem is, we are dumping way too much stress on our poor little bodies in this day and age, largely due to lifestyle choices.
