Know your major time markers, and manage your appointments and kids' activities to fit into a manageable routine.   Develop a Cadence: Automate and rhythmize your day to make it flow smoothly. Set up routines that turn chaos into a predictable dance, making daily tasks feel effortless.   Clean in Sections: Break down your cleaning into manageable zones. Focus on one section at a time to avoid overwhelm and keep your home in order.   Write Out a Family Plan: Clearly outline the week's schedule, to-dos, and cleaning tasks for your family. This transparency helps everyone stay on track and share responsibilities.   Next Steps: Don't miss Episode 427, where I'll delve deeper into a week-by-week plan to build on today's foundation.   Can't wait to connect with you again soon!   xoxo,   Chelsi Jo . .   Resources from today's episode:   Use Code BACKTOSCHOOL to save $350 off Systemize Your Life September 23rd - October 2nd!!!   Get The Complete Home Management System That Takes You From Overwhelmed To Organized In Four Weeks! -http://chelsijo.co/syl   Join our FREE Systemize Your Life Community - http://www.facebook.com/groups/systemizeyourlife

She is a wife, mom to 3 little ones and owner of Pivot Media! We're excited to talk about finding rhythms that serve your family best. This is crucial especially when it comes to thriving in both "worlds" so to speak. Today is all about the rhythm not the routine! Rhythm gives you movement and allow flexibility vs. being boxed into a routine. Let's dive into finding rhythms that serve your family best! Priorities & ValuesSitting down with your spouse and actually talking through what is valued most is a must. You can't come with your own expectations and force them on everyone else. Talk through what you value! Afterward prioritize from greatest to least. It's interesting because within our values we all have unique rhythms that allow us to accomplish them. And learning how your family functions - whether they are morning people, work around naps or like to have a quiet space all plays into your family rhythm. Finding a New Rhythm in New SeasonsLooking at actual seasons of life and asking questions: what worked in the last season? What didn't work? What do we value moving forward? Then the implementation needs to be practiced for a few weeks. Find what works! Another thing is don't be afraid to ask questions that challenge where you are and stay flexible! Being aware of what is needed in today will help give your longevity to endure tough seasons. Seasons of transition are inevitable and often the hardest. You almost have to mesh an old rhythm with a new one which is why flexibility will save you. Rhythm without flexibility is actually routine! Write Out a FlowSit down and put together 5 potential rhythms that work for the week. And don't do Monday through Sunday, utilize Monday through Friday and allow the weekends to fuel your family. If Monday's rhythm works then build on it Tuesday. If Monday's rhythm caused stress and anxiety, it's ok! Tomorrow is a new day. Sometimes it's trial and error until you see what fits. And don't forget finding rhythms that serve your family best takes time. It requires flexibility and practice. Learning to ebb and flow with the season your kids are in, the new natural seasons like school starting and knowing people's preferences will help tremendously! Tune in to hear more from this conversation. It's jam packed with relatable content and will help you wherever you are in this season! S1 Ep 4: Gratitude - Without Guilt

Awareness for Everyone

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 1, 2022 18:15

Gratitude is not selfish Not to put too fine a point on it, feeling grateful and expressing gratitude is not an act of selfishness. How can I express gratitude when so many people are suffering so horridly? Because feeling grateful for things in no way disempowers anyone else. All those people who are experiencing awful things and suffering do not have their lot in life made worse when you are thankful for things. I know how hard this is. But consciousness creates reality. When we get focused on all this awfulness around us, we discuss it, we rant about it, we feel terrible seeing it, we inadvertently energize it more. When we are not grateful for what we have, material or immaterial, we haven't much to work with to gain more. Gratitude is abundance Saying thank you and FEELING thankful is empowering. When you receive genuine thanks, doesn't it make you feel good? Giving it is equally as powerful as receiving it. We can be grateful for a truly infinite number of things. Intangibles like air, laughter, joy, and love are no less powerful than the tangibles like sunlight, clean drinking water, coffee, the grass beneath your feet. Saying thank you for material tangibles like iPhones, people, pets, and anything else you have or desire to have is no more powerful - and an equal when partaking of an abundant universe. Gratitude is more than saying Thank You Expressing gratitude, not just saying it but feeling it, creates an overall sense of satisfaction. This puts you in a place of abundance, rather than a place of lack and scarcity. As such, when you are working on creating something new - or improving the life you already have - this has you doing so from abundance rather than lack. Gratitude is a two-way street. Not only does it open you to more abundance, satisfaction, and fulfillment, but it also opens up anyone you give it to to the same. A genuine thank you presented to another person is appreciation that appreciates. This week's Applied Guidance for Mindfulness Tool: Gratitude for what we already have – real, genuine thankfulness – empowers our conscious reality creation ability to acquire more things to be grateful for. Being grateful, and expressing it, is like any other muscle. The more you use it the stronger it gets. This week's tool is a simple gratitude-building exercise. Once a day, either first in the morning or at the end of the day, sit down and WRITE OUT five (5) things that you are grateful for. They can be utterly simple and intangible or complex and tangible. Just write each one down. Take a moment to read each. Read it as “thank you for” or “I am grateful for”. Pause after reading it and let yourself FEEL it. Do this for a week – and see that you have many, many things for which to be grateful. Feel free to do this more often – and past the week of the Applied Guidance for Mindfulness tool usage. A writing marathon is an opportunity for writers to gather, write, walk, talk, explore, and grow through shared experience. It is a beloved practice of many Writing Project teachers, whether face-to-face or online, and has spread to classrooms and national parks across the country. Join Morehead Writing Project teachers and National Park Service colleagues for this discussion about the possibilities and details on how to design your own. This event was part of Write Out 2020, a partnership with the National Park Service. Looking for an easy way to create killer content for your blog? Or, are you trying to design a motivational speech for your team? In this post, I cover a simple way to create content that your audience will love. The technique works equally well if whether you are delivering in verbally (in a speech) or writing it.The Keys to Good Communication Are Similar Whether You Are Writing or Speaking.Way back in 2000, I partnered up with a speaker in Dallas who had acquired a big contract to do leadership training for a national trade association. It was a big break for me, because, although I had done pretty well in my first few years as a speaker, clients were still hard to come by, back then. When he and I first talked, he mentioned that he had written a public speaking book that was in the final stages of editing.Since my specialty was designing class content, I built an entire presentation class to compliment the book. From time to time, I'd ask him about the book, and he'd always respond by telling me, "It's almost ready."Two years later, it was still... almost ready. I finally realized that the book was likely never going to be finished. In desperation, I decided that if I were going to have a good, well-written textbook for my class, I'd have to write it myself.I Learned to Write Out of Necessity. At that point, I'd never written anything except term papers in school. But, I figured, whether you are communicating via the spoken word or via written text, the goal is still the same. You want to communicate important ideas in such a way that your audience (or readers) can retain the information, and you also have to make that communication somewhat entertaining so that your listeners (or readers) continue to pay attention. So, out of necessity, I sat down at my computer, and I wrote the book Fearless Presentations. The whole process from start to finish took me less than three weeks. (And the only reason that it took me that long was that I type really slow.)This episode will explain the step-by-step process that I went through, and how you can use the same process to create unlimited content for motivational speeches, keynotes, and blog posts.Full Podcast Notes at How to Create Killer Content for Your Blog or Motivational Speech

In this conversation, Ally talks about what inspired her to get an MFA after establishing herself as a bestselling author, always working on two things at once, and how the 2016 election gave Ally enough rage to write her newest young adult novel, murderous revenge story The Last Voyage of Poe Blythe. Links and Topics Mentioned In This Episode The Planet of the Apes movies, which were filmed near where Ally grew up in rural Utah Ally was inspired by a blog post by Shannon Hale, New York Times bestselling author of The Princess Academy and Austenland, where she wrote about writing 1,000 words a day. Ally was inspired by Shannon to commit to daily word goals. She started with 500. Lisa Mangum, editor at Shadow Mountain press, which released Ally’s first few books Brandon Mull, New York TImes bestselling author of the Fablehaven and Beyonders series, who got his start at Shadow Mountain PressChris Shoebinger, publishing director at Shadow Mountain Press, who released Ally from her publishing contract so she could pursue a bigger contract for Matched Jodi Reamer, literary agent at Writer’s House, who also represents Tahereh Mafi, New York TImes bestselling author of the Shatter Me series (listen to her First Draft episode here), Ransom Riggs, New York Times bestselling author of the Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children series (listen to his First Draft episode here), John Green, New York Times bestselling author of The Fault in Our Stars and Looking for Alaska, and Stephenie Meyer, author of the global phenomenon Twilight series Julie Strauss-Gabel, publisher at Dutton Books, who has edited John Green, Adam Gidwitz, New York Times bestselling author of A Tale Dark & Grimm and The Inquisitor’s Tale: Or, The Three Magical Children and Their Holy Dog, and Gayle Forman, New York Times bestselling author of If I Stay and I Have Lost My Way The Vermont College of Fine Arts MFA in writing for children, the program Ally attended Emily Wing Smith, author of The Way He Lived and All Better Now, and Carol Lynch Williams, author of The Chosen One and Glimpse, two Utah authors Ally was friends with who also attended the Vermont College of Fine Arts for the MFA program Kekla Magoon, author of National Book Award Longlisted X: A Novel (written with Ilyasah Shabazz), Coretta Scott King-honored The Season of Styx Malone and How it Went Down, and was Ally’s mentor at the Vermont program and helped her with an early draft of Poe Blythe An Na, author of Printz winner and National Book Award long-listed A Step From Heaven, as well as Wait For Me and The Place Between Breaths, was also an advisor at the Vermont College of Fine Arts Martine Leavitt, author of Keturah and Lord Death, and Calvin,  who Ally calls “a stone cold genius.” Martine helped Ally work on a project during her Vermont residency. Quentin Tarantino’s advice to screenwriters was to delete the last two lines of dialogue from every scene, which Alfred Gough and Miles Millar--creators of Smallville and Into the Badlands shared with me on their recent First Draft episode. That’s similar to Ally’s feeling that sometimes she writes past the natural ending of a chapter. Brendan Reichs, New York Times bestselling author of Genesis, and co-writer of Virals with his mother, New York Times bestselling author Kathy Reichs, and The Darkdeep with Ally. Brendan and Ally fortuitously decided to pursue an MFA at Vermont at the same time. Hey 'preneur! A quick tip that makes a BIG IMPACT: spend more time on revenue generating activities and less time on administrative work. It's easier said than done because that admin stuff you "need" to do keeps piling up. For example, are you spending 10-15 hours each week on trying to create social media content? This number sounds high til you realize that's between 1-2 hours each day. Now look at your sales, emails to prospects, calls to potential partners and prospects: are you spending 10-15 hours each week trying to make money? I think we can agree you should be spending MORE time connecting and trying to make $$$ than you are adding filters to pics and tweaking your website. If you're not sure what you're spending time on, I'm gonna guess it's more busywork than not. For the next 7 days, WRITE OUT where you're spending time, and you'll have a baseline. From here you can improve your productivity, and make a bigger impact on your profits! For more insights on what it takes to grow your business, visit http://marketingsparkler.com.

Main Points This is SIMPLE but not easy. How you start your day will dictate how you will finish. Start with power, end with power.  Sleep in and start behind, you will end behind. Make your bed and start with gratitude and the rest of the dominos of your life will also fall but starts with a single push. Action Steps White Belt:  Commit to making your bed and starting with gratitude for one week.   Blue Belt:  Write out your ideal morning and what would you need to have done before you walk out the door to feel like you already won for the day? Black Belt:  Write Out a Morning Success Ritual that you could do each day to give you power.  Just a short list (don't over commit) and then for one week do it.  And journal to yourself about how you feel when you did it vs. if you missed it (ideally you didn't). Earl Grey: A Star Trek The Next Generation Podcast

Conspiracy.  Is it possible to follow the council given to not trust anyone? Isn't this the exact type of phrase given to breed mistrust? Friendship is built on trust and how can you take risks for your friends if you don't trust them? Picard takes a very calculated move to trust his crew and find evidence of this conspiracy within Starfleet Command. But his decisions nearly get his crew under the control of the alien invaders. In this episode of Earl Grey, host Amy Nelson with special guest Justin Oser discuss "Conspiracy." This season one episode looks at a conspiracy that goes to the very top of Starfleet. We talk about the cost of friendship and how much risk are we willing to take for a friend, especially when we have a long and trusting relationship. Is it really feasible to believe that these scorpion-like creatures could get that far into Starfleet with the goal of overtaking the Federation? Is this a believable enemy?
