Anna, Coach for expats in Paris. Originally from Manchester in the UK, I moved to France over 10 years ago and 8 years in Paris where I came to work at the British Embassy where I stayed for 4 years. It was a great experience for me where I grew personally and professionally but I know for me, and for many others, the transition to living in Paris has not been as easy as I thought it would be. I therefore had the idea of being that guide to other expats and helping them through the transition and into the reality of expat life in France, and more specifically in Paris.theexpatco. | Anna - coaching for expatsSupport the show

This week Tick Boot Camp interviewed the dynamic mother daughter founders and operators of Eco Laboratory. Karen Weeks is an internationally recognized Lyme disease pioneer who has been at the forefront of Lyme research since the early 1980s. While supervising the Virology Department at the Department of Public Health for Massachusetts, Ms. Weeks worked directly with Dr. Allen Steere (the physician researcher recognized for detailing the clinical symptoms and naming Lyme disease). At that time, Ms. Weeks developed the Antibody Capture Immunoassay, which remains the most sensitive test available for Lyme disease. In 1990 she co-founded IMUGEN Inc, the premier laboratory for the diagnosis of Lyme disease, and many other tick-borne diseases. Ms. Weeks co-authored several publications pertaining to tick-borne diseases in The Journal of Infectious Diseases, The New England Journal of Medicine, and many others. Anna Roberts is following in her mother's large footsteps and manages Eco Laboratory. Because Lyme disease and other tick-borne diseases are spreading at an alarming rate, Ms. Weeks decided to re-enter the testing arena after merging IMUGEN to a national testing company. She understood that quick diagnosis and treatment of tick-borne illnesses is vital to treating tick-borne pathogens. To support early intervention, she set up a testing system that quickly processes the tick and provides patients with accurate timely results. Today, Eco Laboratory offers 5 highly regarded tick testing panels including, a Lyme Disease only panel, a Blacklegged Deer Tick Panel, a Lone Star Tick Panel, an American Dog Tick Panel, and a Customized Tick Panel. If you would like to learn more about tick testing and the virtues of working with a laboratory built by a Lyme disease pioneer, then tune in now!

Welcome to Failed Utopia. This is a podcast about utopian ideas and paradise lost. We look at utopian concepts from the past, present and future, as well as utopian societies and communes, which promise the world to eager followers but inevitably fail when it all starts to unravel. Some of these utopias just fall apart, while others devolve into true horrors and even brutal cults. I’ll break down what these groups’ leaders were thinking, what attracted their devotees in the first place, and how it all went wrong. Connect with me on Facebook ( fb.me/failedutopiapod ) or the Failed Utopia website ( http://www.failedutopia.com ). I’m your host, Anna Roberts. As I’ve been researching for this show, I’ve come across some truly incredible stories, and I cannot wait to share them with you. We’ll cover wide-ranging topics, from concepts and technologies like artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things to cults like Synanon, Heaven's Gate, and Peoples Temple—all united by their utopian aspirations. Join me as we follow the yellow brick road to meet some unbelievable characters and pull back the curtain on the charismatic leaders, charlatans and conmen who have enticed so many into giving up everything, from their money and material things to relationships and families, and sometimes, even their very lives for the promise of utopia.
