It's another long episode, so strap in, as we speed ahead towards our 100th... As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our ninety-ninth one to date (only one more to 100, so last chance to go here and tell us what we should do to celebrate!). This podcast episode is not like my typical podcasts, honestly, this is more of a rant or my ramblings on various topics. We got some DC/WB news in particular about Ezra Miller and the future of The Flash, confirmation of 'The Batman' movie releasing on HBO Max for streaming, touching the topic of 'Sonic The Hedgehog 2' and then leading to my rant on video game adaptations into TV or Film! The Flash is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. Produced by DC Films, Double Dream, and The Disco Factory, and set for distribution by Warner Bros. Pictures, it is intended to be the fourteenth film in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film is directed by Andy Muschietti from a screenplay by Christina Hodson and stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen / The Flash alongside Ron Livingston, Michael Keaton, Kiersey Clemons, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Sasha Calle, and Ben Affleck. In the film, Barry travels back in time to prevent his mother's murder, which brings unintended consequences. The Batman is a 2022 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character Batman. Produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Films, 6th & Idaho, and Dylan Clark Productions, and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, it is a reboot of the Batman film franchise. The film was directed by Matt Reeves, who wrote the screenplay with Peter Craig. It stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne / Batman alongside Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell. The film sees Batman, who has been fighting crime in Gotham City for two years, uncover corruption while pursuing the Riddler (Dano), a serial killer who targets Gotham's elite. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is a 2022 action-adventure comedy film based on the video game franchise published by Sega. It is the sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog (2020), and was directed by Jeff Fowler and written by Pat Casey, Josh Miller, and John Whittington. It stars Ben Schwartz reprising his role as the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog, alongside James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, Shemar Moore, Colleen O'Shaughnessey, Lee Majdoub, Idris Elba and Jim Carrey. The film follows Sonic and Tails, who team up to find the Master Emerald before Dr. Robotnik and Knuckles the Echidna do, while also contending with the military organization G.U.N.

056 - At some point if DC/WB is going to keep making movies and comics titled "Man of Tomorrow" they're going to need to remember that the phrase is implying an eye on the future rather than this hogwash that tows the line of old and new. It looks like an anime, but it views like an old person wrote the weekend they didn't have their kids and had binged too many Superman The Animated Series episodes in a row... oh and fucking Lobo is in it. Yeah they love Lobo, they don't do anything with him, but they fucking love that dude.Synopsis:Superman's origin, but he's dumb and doesn't know what a Krypton is so he just punches his problems away until the world's most over experienced janitor gets forbidden juiced spilled on him. Slide down the Bat-Pole, tear open your shirt & whip out your Golden Lasso, it's time for our Justice League review. With critics and fans divided (once again) by a DCEU film, hear what our panel of ‘experts' think about the culmination of the DC / WB superhero universe. It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a digitally removed moustache… but really, it's Unfunny Nerd Tangent: 34 Justice League. Hosted by: ‘Captain Boomerang' Greig Tansley (@GreigT13). Featuring: ‘SuperJew' Jared Robinovitz (@superjew75) & ‘Director's Cut' Tim Agne (@timagne). Music by: Gary Clark Jr. & Junkie XL, Simon & Garfunkel & Steppenwolf.
Director #PattyJenkins has taken on the herculean task of directing the first large-scale female-led comic book movie, #WonderWoman. Starring relative newcomer #GalGadot (Batman v. Superman) as the titular character of Wonder Woman/Diana Prince, Wonder Woman works to tell the story of young woman who is plucked from her safe life on a secret island and thrust into the atrocities of World War I. However, the obvious twist is that she isn't just some woman, she's the daughter of the Amazons who possess more power than even she realizes. DC/WB has had hit a couple of rough patches launching their cinematic universe, aka #DCEU. However, in Wonder Woman they have found their footing. Utilizing true emotion, heart, action, and properly placed comedy finally brings DC/WB a movie that they can say critically, and likely financially, rivals the competition. Gal Gadot impresses with her ability to play the "fish out of water" warrior princess alongside #ChrisPine as Steve Trevor, a WWI soldier who recruits her to save the world. The story is large enough to show scale in the universe, yet personal enough to be emotionally well balanced and solid. This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/5939723/advertisement
It's about to go down! Normally on the show Fresh and Confucius agree on all the topics but a certain movie has them divided. After getting into the usual comic book news they debate the future of the DC Cinematic Universe and if DC/WB needs to stay the course or abandon ship. Their are good arguments on both sides and something comic book fans will appreciate. Also as a gift to our listeners we have partnered up with Audibletrial.com to bring you FREE comic books.
