Pixar has a way of teaching beautiful lessons with children's stories. This week I tackle some of the themes in Soul, how they translate to us, and why you are already enough just how you are.
In this one we have a discussion centered around the Disney movie 'Soul'. We talk about Disney's history with POC main characters (pre- Turning Red), the New York City subway, and self-actualization. After a long holiday we're back with another great podcast. This week in our Disney Detective we give our thoughts on the recently release Disney Pixar's Soul and how poignant it is in today's world. Then we'll talk about yet another magical experience a Disneyworld going away in a sad finale to a fun game many people enjoyed. In our Tales from the Edge of the Galaxy we'll talk about the season finale of the Mandalorian, the impact it has on the Star Wars Universe and what we can expect in the very near future from that Galaxy Far Far Away that we all love. We'll also talk about a little mutual love and admiration from two of the biggest stars from that episode and how nice it is to see Star Wars back on the right track again. Wonder Woman 1984 is the subject for discussion in our Entertainment News this week. We give our thoughts, reviews, insights and concerns about this latest installment of one of our favorite super heroes. We'll also talk Oscars and what the eligibility status of the Hamilton movie is for the coming awards season before we wrap up with our Insightful Picks of the Week.

There's nothing quite like that feeling of being in the zone; that place of flow and focus where you do your best work. If you've watched Disney Pixar's Soul, it shows “the zone” as this generally joyful place between the conscious and unconscious world where you find yourself when you're completely focussed on your craft or work. One of the ways I'm able to find this focus and enter ‘the zone' is by listening to music. When you've got a good pair of headphones on and the right music playing, it's amazing how much more focussed you can be. With that in mind, I'd like to share the music I like to listen to when doing my work. Most of the music I like to listen to is instrumental. If there are lyrics, I find it harder to concentrate when you have another voice in your head. And I use Apple Music as my player of choice but I've included links to Spotify alternatives where possible.
