Various media outlets were invited to the Imagineering campus to see the life-sized concept sculpt, and to learn more about the show. Walt's voice in the show will be his own, with clips of his actual voice were painstakingly assembled from interviews. The animatronic itself is very lifelike. The posture, facial structure, and skin texture are “uncanny” according to MiceChat. – https://www.micechat.com/414430-disneyland-walt-disney-a-magical-life-revealed/ Another character from the Marvel Universe will be dropping by Avengers Campus for a limited time. The Port Royal Curios and Curiosities shop, right next to the Royal Street Veranda, has been changed into a seating area for diners. Since the shop duplicated the merchandise which can be found at Madame Leota's “Somewhere Beyond” shop, the old location was not needed. The decor was not updated much, except to turn it into a jazzy looking speakeasy. Last week, Rise of the Resistance in Star Wars Galaxy's Edge had the cannons fixed! This effect has not been working for the last year or more. February 8th is the last day for the attraction which added a lot of kinetic movement and atmosphere to Buena Vista Street and Hollywood Boulevard. While you won't be able to ride the trolley anymore, one will be parked near the entrance to the park for photos. – https://www.micechat.com/408639-disneyland-update-end-of-the-line-blasts-from-the-past/ Madame Leota's Somewhere Beyond shop, which just opened last month had some flooding issues last week. The heavy rain flowed down the walkway to Bayou Country and right into the front door of the shop. The resort already has plans for work to be done with the path in front of the shop to correct this issue. The shop will remain open during this work, with entrance allowed by the Haunted Mansion exit. – https://www.micechat.com/408639-disneyland-update-end-of-the-line-blasts-from-the-past/ Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts Nite was hugely popular, but the other After Dark Nites still have tickets available. 90's Nite still has tickets for March 4th, and Star Wars Nite still has all dates available. Take a leisurely stroll through all of Disney's California Adventure. It quickly became clear that I wasn't going to get the recording I set out to caoture, as this particular day seemed challenging to get the sounds I often seek, but it remains a great snapshot in time. This is truly an episode where headphones will greatly enhance your experience. It's a pleasant late Spring evening in a bustling California Adventure, the sun is casting evening shadows but there's still ample light for a couple of hours. Entering the turnstiles we are welcomed by well-acclimated guests who have been around for much of the day already. The chatter is more exuberant than early morning hours, muffling the familiar tunes of the area loop. As we venture further down Buena Vista Street and steer toward Hollywood Land, the unmistakable voices of beloved Pixar characters weave into the ambiance – it's Pixar Fest, after all!Over in Hollywood Land, Club Pixar has taken festive control of the back area. We check out the Pixar shorts playing in the former entrance to Hollywood and Dine, but dodge the loud music in the backlot and head back to the Animation Building for some relaxation.Understandably so, the fan-favorite spot was busy with Animation Academy and Turtle Talk getting out at the same time, so we scurry through the always enjoyable Off the Page and then head toward Avenger's Campus. After a leisurely stroll through the land, we emerge onto the Parade Corridor. A quick detour takes us to the cascading wonder of Grizzly Peak's back waterfall to only stand off to the side to take in the Pixar Pier Parade Corridor mix before heading through Cars Land. There we take in the normal ambiance including a cycle of Luigi's.We then make our way through San Fransokyo Square to catch a little J-pop and then make our way through Pixar Pier. Strangely, there were a few areas where music is normally playing that were just simply off.Later, we catch a portion of the Pixar Fest parade, Better Together. A few moments of lively jubilation from the parade, it was time to relax through the best means I know… Redwood Creek Challenge Trail area music. While the play area was under refurbishment, the speakers still provide the somber, softer melodies that can bring anyone to a peaceful state. We then pick ourselves up and pass by Grizzly River Run and jaunt through Grizzly Peak Airfield before exiting the park for the evening. I hope you enjoy your evening tour.Audio recorded on Friday 5/24/2024 around 5:15PM. --------------------Donate to the Show:Help keep Park Sensory going with a one-time donation. Little is left of Halloween anywhere, but if you look hard enough, there are still some spooky spots left. Otherwise, the holidays have moved in hard and fast! Garland is abound at Disneyland and California Adventure, the tree on Main Street has been installed, Sleeping Beauty Castle is a snow-capped sight to behold, and so much more! – https://www.micechat.com/338333-disneyland-news-a-storm-is-brewing/ The Festival of the Holidays is coming soon, which is why the booths have been moved out into Disney California Adventure. Spotted so far have been “Winter Sliderland,” “Visions of Sugarplums,” “Making Spirits Bright,” “Holiday Duets,” “Grandma's Recipes,” “Favorite Things,” “Brews and Bites,” and “A Twist on Tradition.” – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/11/05/photos-food-booths-are-up-for-festival-of-holidays-at-disneyland/ The holidays don't officially start at Disneyland until November 11th, but there is a ton of new merchandise that is on sale all over the resort. From Loungefly backpacks, to Minnie Ears, to Spirit Jerseys, and so much more, there is something for everyone! {talk about the options} Check out the links in our show notes for all the details and for LOTS of pictures. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/11/06/whats-new-at-disneyland-resort-over-250-pieces-of-merchandise/ and https://www.micechat.com/336345-holiday-merchandise-2022-arrives-at-disneyland/ and https://dlnewstoday.com/2022/11/new-hanukkah-merchandise-arrives-at-disneyland-resort/ What would the holiday season at Disneyland be without a cool popcorn bucket! This year, the seasonal bucket comes with a special feature: it plays music! Starting November 11th, guests can pick one of these delightful buckets up at the resort. The bucket can be wound up on the bottom like a music box, and will play music while holiday scenes rotate around the bucket, AND there is still room inside for a good amount of popcorn! – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/11/05/alert-a-musical-holiday-popcorn-bucket-is-coming-soon-to-disney-world-and-disneyland/ A new seasonal treat is coming to Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen Express in Downtown Disney. This time, the beignet flavor of choice is the Maple Pecan Pie Glazed beignets. These are available now. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/11/02/maple-pecan-pie-beignets-are-now-available-in-disneyland/ Starting a little later than the kickoff to the holidays at the resort, the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will have the “Grand” Gingerbread House. The house is a replica of the hotel, standing 7 feet tall and 12 feet wide. It is made out of 600 pounds of powdered sugar, 250 pounds of fondant, and 600 pounds of gingerbread. The gingerbread house will also feature 25 hidden Mickeys adorned around the sweet model. The GCH Holiday Cart will also feature some gingerbread goodies. {check out the entire list} Inside the parks a gingerbread Mickey Ear Hat Bowl and a gingerbread Bottle Topper will be on sale. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/11/disney-eats-unveils-new-foodie-guide-to-cant-miss-gingerbread-displays-2022/ Festival of the Holidays hasn't started yet, but like most things for the holidays, some of the merchandise has already arrived at the resort. Fear not! The crews are already at work on repainting the sign and getting it back in pristine order for guests to be welcomed to Disneyland, as well as thanking guests for visiting. MiceChat thinks that it might be getting a facelift to promote Disney100, which will be centered in Disneyland. – https://www.micechat.com/338333-disneyland-news-a-storm-is-brewing/ Weeklyteers who love to shop, this next story is for you! Soundscapes: Buena Vista Street Halloween By day, Buena Vista Street In Disney California Adventure is filled with jazzy tunes, friendly faces, and an echo of 1920s Los Angeles. But by night, during the Halloween season, those friendly faces turn nefarious as Oogie Boogie fills the street with frightful suspense, otherworldly music, and surprising spooks around every corner. It's Buena Vista Street as you've never seen or experienced it before, an entirely new story filled with bone-chilling enchantment. Give yourself over to the spooky (but really not-so-scary) Magic of this space, the unexpected twists and turns, and the rumbling of something that might be lurking just out of sight… This is Halloween…trick or treat! ----- Want More Here With The Magic? Each level of Magic Key will see a price increase from as little as $50, to as much as $200 for the high end key. The Dream Key, which was the top end key when the program started and had no blockout dates has been retired and replaced with a Inspire key, priced at $1599. New perks added to the high level keys include parking discounts, free PhotoPass, and Genie+ discounts. – https://www.micechat.com/330375-disneyland-magic-keys-everything-you-need-to-know/ and https://disneyland.disney.go.com/passes/blockout-dates/ Last week, Disney had their quarterly earnings call and reported some great news for the theme park division. Disney Parks, Experiences and Products reported quarterly revenue of $7.4 billion, up from $4.3 billion a year earlier. Last year, Disney Cruise Line was still shut down and the parks were still recovering, but this is still great news. However, there was one comment that made Disneyland fans upset. They stated that Genie+ and Lightning Lane increased the per capita ticket revenue, “partially offset by an unfavorable attendance mix at Disneyland Resort.” This led to Magic Key holders getting upset online about being unfavorables. – https://www.micechat.com/329833-disneyland-update-the-unfavorables-halloween-screams-toontown-secrets/ MagicBand+ hasn't come to Disneyland just yet, but there is already a new interactive game under construction that uses the technology. Batuu Bounty Hunters has already launched in Walt Disney World's version of Batuu, and will launch at Disneyland when the MagicBand+ system launches by the end of the year. The game will require the Play Disney Parks app and a MagicBand+. The MagicBand+ will change colors depending on if you are heading in the right direction and change to purple when the bounty is found. WDWNewToday had a great writeup about the game, which we have linked in the show notes. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2022/08/star-wars-batuu-bounty-hunters-game-station-is-under-construction-in-disneyland/ and https://wdwnt.com/2022/07/batuu-bounty-hunters-galaxys-edge-magicband/ Weeklyteers who want to know what is going on with ToonTown, we have an update for you. MiceChat has posted some new aerial photos of the work going on back there. Goofy's house has been repainted, the area where the new CarTOONial park will be has been cleared, along with all of the paving in the land. Mickey and Minnie's houses are surrounded by scaffholding and are being repainted, as is the ToonTown mountainside above the neighborhood. – https://www.micechat.com/329376-disneyland-update-part-2-flying-high-over-toontown-construction-sweet-treats/ There was a traffic accident this past week, but it wasn't on any of the loal Anaheim roads, but on the Autopia! Images posted on Instagram show two Autopia vehicles had somehow been driven on top of one of the concrete barriers. This would have been extremely difficult to do by accident as the cars are limited to 5mph. The two vehicles appeared to have been pushed up onto the concrete by colliding into one another. Cast members were unsure how this happened when they came across the scene. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2022/08/autopia-accident-leaves-ride-vehicles-derailed-and-damaged-at-disneyland/ Some new menu items are coming to a popular eatery in Galaxy's Edge. Docking Bay 7 will have the new menu items starting the day this episode goes live. The items include a new Cold Brew with Taro Topper, which is a nitro cold brew topped with sweet Taro cream. The other item is the Gungan Broth Noodles, which has Roasted Pork, Angel Hair Pasta, Bok Choy, Mushrooms, Yuzu-Tomato Compote, and a Pesto-Tonkatsu Broth. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/08/15/new-menu-additions-coming-soon-to-docking-bay-7-in-disneyland/ We reported a couple weeks ago about a couple of new hand pies at the resort. Now, it seems that they are all over the place and with almost as many varieties as churros, if that is even possible! Guests can get a strawberry hand pie at Candy Palace, Lemon at the Honey Spot, Blueberry at Trolley Treats, Raspberry at Bing Bongs, and Guava at Marceline's in Downtown Disney. Reports online have been extremely favorable to the new line of treats, especially the pastry part. – https://www.micechat.com/329376-disneyland-update-part-2-flying-high-over-toontown-construction-sweet-treats/ Guests have been unhappy with the paper straws in the parks for some time now. Now, there is a new eco-friendly option availalbe at teh Candy Palace on Main Street. The new straw option is an edible straw which comes in three flavors; strawberry, lemon, and lime. Each straw costs $1, and the DIsney Food Blog reports that they don't get mushy like the paper straws. For Weeklyteers who would like to try these at home, Amazon.com also sells the same brand online. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/08/09/yes-we-paid-to-eat-our-straw-at-disneyland/ A shop in New Orleans Square is getting a new mix of products from a different vendor. Mlle. Antoinette's Parfumerie will soon start offering a large collection of the Guerlain fragrances and cosmetics. – https://www.micechat.com/328951-disneyland-update-magic-keys-please-early-morning-magic-halloween-begins/ There still may be a couple weeks of summer left, but Halloween is quickly starting to appear around the resort. The Plaza Point Holiday Shoppe already has Halloween themed items available. The Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is currently closed to guests as it transforms into Villains Grove for the Oogie Boogie Bash parties. Main Street and Buena Vista Street window displays are changing over as well. – https://www.micechat.com/328951-disneyland-update-magic-keys-please-early-morning-magic-halloween-begins/ and https://www.micechat.com/329833-disneyland-update-the-unfavorables-halloween-screams-toontown-secrets/ Weeklyteers who like to participate in the scavenger hunts should get excited! Pluto's Pumpkin Persuit is coming back this year. Like in previous years, guests can purchase a game board to start hunting for the deorated pumpkins scattered around Downtown Disney. Once all the pupkins have been found, the completed game board can be turned in for a special surpise. Last year it was a choice of plastic sipper. – https://www.micechat.com/329833-disneyland-update-the-unfavorables-halloween-screams-toontown-secrets/ Detail oriented guests may have noticed some changes to some grass areas of Main Street recently. Some of the sections have been replaced by artificial terf. Based on the lack of rainfall in California, this might be a good replacement for the greenery. The new terf is almost indistinguishable from real grass and will require less upkeep. – https://www.micechat.com/329833-disneyland-update-the-unfavorables-halloween-screams-toontown-secrets/ Fans of the “I Am Groot” series on Disney+ can now get a new magic shot with their favorite baby Groot charater. Guests interested in this magic shot need to head into Avengers Campus and be siure to ask your PhotoPass photographer for this specific shot. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/08/10/disney-just-added-a-baby-groot-magic-shot-in-avengers-campus/ Discussion Topic: Philander – https://www.instagram.com/philanderc85/

MagicBand+ is HereIs it worth the hype and money? You can now get a brand new Disney MagicBand+ for your Walt Disney World vacation. Is it worth getting? Do you plan to get one? Is it worth the upgrade from MagicBand 2? Maybe, but we think Disney really dropped the ball here. MagicBand+ has questionable value. What Disney really should have done was release a Disney smart watch. We predict that a Disney MagicBand Watch will be the next (and a better) version of this tech -- especially if it works along with Hey Disney. In the meantime, here are the minor benefits of a Disney MagicBand+ MagicBand+ does everything your old MagicBand does: Unlock the door of your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room Enter any of the Disney World theme parks and water parks Redeem Disney Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane reservations Charge items, including food/beverages and merchandise, to your resort room (only if staying onsite) Redeem Disney Dining Plan credits Link PhotoPass images to your account How is MagicBand+ different than a regular MagicBand? MagicBand+ costs more than a MagicBand MagicBand+ has some limited park interactions MagicBand+ has to be charged frequently How to set-up a new MagicBand+ and link it to your Disney account Press the button on the back MagicBand+ to turn it on and tap the band to your phone. Open (or set-up) the My Disney Experience app. Follow the app instructions to link the MagicBand+ to your Disney account, assign it to a guest and pair it to your mobile device. App will show the band charge level and software status. Link your park tickets, reservations and more as required. How to manage multiple MagicBands from one Disney account In the MDE app go to MagicBands and More. View your managed guests. Adjust everyone's MagicBand+ settings and options. How to Customize your MagicBand+ Find "MagicBands and More" and select “Customize Your MagicBand+”. Check that your MagicBand+ is fully charged and the software is up to date. Pick a custom light up theme. Change the vibration and motion recognition settings to what you want. -- The Red Trolley Car is Back on the Rails at Disney California Adventure Park It's the small things and the tiny details that hold some of the best Disney magic for those who care about Walt Disney and park history. This summer, you can ride the trolley and enjoy views of Buena Vista Street, Carthay Circle Restaurant, Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard while learning about Walt Disney's journey as he arrived in Hollywood. If you like Walt stories and fun facts, you will love this one. Here's a fun fact, number 623 on the trolley stands for June 1923 when Walt first came to California. Number 717 stands for July 17, which was the opening day of Disneyland.Thank You for Listening to the Disney Travel PodcastThank you very much for listening to this episode, Amelia and I hope that you enjoyed it. September 1st will be the last day to catch both of these classic entertainment options. World of Color and Fantasmic! will continue on their regular schedules. Halloween Time starts at the resort September 2nd, so this is making way for the Halloween Screams fireworks. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/07/catch-disneyland-forever-fireworks-main-street-electrical-parade-before-their-limited-time-runs-end-sept-1/ Ticket prices could be going up soon for Disneyland, but not because of Disney. A proposed ordinance by the Anaheim City Council would add a 2% admissions tax to all tickets sold to any venue that holds 15,000 or more people. This would add $2 to $4 to each ticket for a one-day, one-park ticket, depending on the season. If approved by the council, it would be on the ballot for voters in November. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/07/15/why-your-disneyland-ticket-could-cost-more-soon/ On Disneyland's 67th birthday, the Red Car Trolley returned to Buena Vista Street! Shortly after it opened, it broke down for part of the day, before returning to service later in the day. There is only one of the trolleys running for now, the second trolley is not ready for use at this time. The Red Car Trolley will be brought on stage before park opening and will make trips back and fourth to Hollywoodland, never entering Avengers Campus or going backstage when the park is open. – https://www.micechat.com/327280-disneyland-update-67-years-of-magic-looking-forward-and-crossing-fingers/ There is a disturbance in the timeline in Star Wars Galaxies Edge. For the first time since the land opened, two different stories with two different time frames will be happening at once. Boba Fett and Fennec Shand, along with Grogu and the Mandalorian are now seen walking around the land, with characters from the sequel trilogy also present. How does Disney deal with this time bending? Imagineering is using “story bubbles.” Basically, as long as the stories unfold to guests and don't interact with each other, it is good. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/07/13/how-disneyland-keeps-boba-fett-from-bumping-into-kylo-ren-in-galaxys-edge-and-why-it-matters/ The Downtown Disney Silletas have a new addition that helps provide some context! New signage and a QR code at each of the displays now inform guests what the display is and what it represents. Previously, it was unclear what some of the displays were about. – https://www.micechat.com/327280-disneyland-update-67-years-of-magic-looking-forward-and-crossing-fingers/ Dole Whip fans mark your calendars! July 21st is Dole Whip Day! Dole Whips are available all around the world at Disney parks and resorts. Aulani, Disney Cruise Line, and Domestic Disney parks on both coasts are great locations to get the frosty treat. The Dole Whip debuted at the Magic Kingdom in Florida back in 1984. The Disney Parks blog has a recipe for guests to create the iconic treat at home. Visit the link in the show notes to make one at home! – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/07/snack-and-listen-celebrate-dole-whip-day-with-recipe-ukulele-styled-disney-music/ Two iconic attractions are getting some new merchandise. A new pair of Haunted Mansion ears, featuring a bow with the purple wallpaper print, a black top hat with HM monogramed on the side, and the striped pattern from the cast member costumes on the ears, with some neon green bats. The Haunted Mansion is embroidered on the band on one side. The wars are on sale at the Pieces of Eight shop for $29.99. Not to be outdone, a new Loungefly backpack with Pirates of the Caribbean is also for sale. The backpack is white leather, featuring the iconic jail cell scene with the pirates attempting to get the keys from the dog. Guests can get one of these for $75. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/07/16/wait-until-you-see-disneys-new-haunted-mansion-ears/ Some Weeklyteers listening might have wondered what it would be like to have a corn dog for breakfast. Wonder no more! The breakfast corn dog is available for $9.29 at Corn Dog Castle in Disney California Adventure. It is a breakfast sausage and egg corn dog, topped with powdered sugar and raspberry jelly, and is served with a Mandarin orange, Cuties, or a small bag of chips. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2022/07/review-start-your-day-off-right-with-a-breakfast-corn-dog-at-disney-california-adventure/ The Disney Food Blog wanted everyone making plans to visit Disneyland, or anywhere in Southern California years in advance to take some information into account before booking anything. The 2028 Summer Olympic Games will be in Los Angeles from July 14th through July 30th, with the Paralympic Games running from August 15th through 27th. Anika Noni Rose, the voice of Tiana from Princess and the Frog, was interviewed on the “Kelly and Ryan” talkshow and made a comment that the Splash Mountain refurbishment had a projected opening of 2024. This is the first time that a solid timefram has been spoken about. Disney would not confirm of deny the information, but released a statement that they will have more to share at the Essence Festival of Culture in New Orleans in July. – https://www.micechat.com/323486-disneyland-update-new-views-booking-up-locking-out/ At Star Wars Celebration last week, it was announced at one of the panels that new scenes would be coming to Star Tours. No details have been released on what the scenes will be, but it is always a welcome addition to have more options. Once we know more, we will be sure to talk about it on a future episode! – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/05/27/disney-hints-at-new-star-tours-scenes/ As we reported last week, Radiator Springs Racers was forced to close after an incident where smoke was coming from one of the ride vehicles. After a 10-day closure, the attraction reopened on Friday, June 3rd. Still no official word on what the cause of the incident was, but a former Disneyland Maintenance Cast Member told MiceChat that the ride vehicles break down regularly and curcuit breakers in each car will cause the vehicle to stop when problems arise. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/06/03/disneyland-reopens-radiator-springs-racers-after-smoking-car-closes-ride-for-more-than-a-week/ and https://www.micechat.com/322588-disneyland-news-radiator-springs-racers-incident-blue-bayou-return-info/ and https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/disneyland/fantasmic-dinner-packages/availability-modal/ Guests at Disneyland can dine at a favorite restaurant that has recently reopened in a limited capacity. The Blue Bayou has returned and is not taking online reservations, but guests can join the walk-up wait list for lunch or dinner at the podium at the restaurant, or through the Disneyland mobile app. Pirates of the Caribbean is still closed for refurbishment, so the view may not be as magical as normal. The Fantasmic! dining package lists reservation times starting on June 16th. – https://twitter.com/DisneyParks/status/1532803837068824578 MiceChat was able to obtain aerial photos of Toon Town progress this week. From the air, we can see that all of the pavement in the land has been removed and is currently dirt. The facade of the El CapiTOON theater is looking more and more complete. The area where the new park will be located has been cleared and awaiting work to start. Both fountains in the land have also been removed, along with the gazebo in front of the City Hall building. – https://www.micechat.com/323486-disneyland-update-new-views-booking-up-locking-out/ The former entrance to Tarzan's Treehouse has come out from behind walls this week. The area is much more open now for guest traffic heading out of Adventureland toward the bridge over the Pirates queue. Once again, there is not any theming on the new concrete. The lack of the entrance also allows parts of New Orleans Square to be visible throughout Adventureland. – https://www.micechat.com/323486-disneyland-update-new-views-booking-up-locking-out/ We are one week into June, and Celebrate Soulfully has officially kicked off at Disneyland. In Disney California Adventure, groups have been performing at the Hollywood Pictures Backlot stage, and in front of Carthay Circle daily, and seasonal food offerings scattered about. – https://www.micechat.com/323486-disneyland-update-new-views-booking-up-locking-out/ For anyone who has never seen Fantasmic! or would like some tips on how to best experience it, the Orange County Register posted some tips. Among the best tips are to make sure to find a spot in front of one of the mist screens. They are located in front of the island, and on both sides. If you find yourself in the middle of the screens, the view isn't as good. The other stand out tip is to catch the second show of the night. The second show is always less crowded and it is impossible to sit for hours holding a spot since the entire area is cleared after the first show, and fireworks afterward. The longest you will have to wait is about an hour. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/06/03/7-tips-for-watching-the-return-of-fantasmic-at-disneyland/ Much like the electrical parade, there is a favorite treat at Disneyland that keeps on returning. The Fluffernutter churro is available once again at Willie's Churros on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure. The churro is a standard churro, topeed with a peanut butter sauce, marshmallow sauce, and chocolate chips. The churro is available for $6.75. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2022/06/review-fantastic-fluffernutter-churro-returns-to-disney-california-adventure/ When we were there last month, there was a line of walls up in front of Ariel's Undersea Adventure. Those walls have finally come down to reveal that they were just replacing the concrete in this area. This is just some of the walkway repaving that has been going on around the entire resort. – https://www.micechat.com/323486-disneyland-update-new-views-booking-up-locking-out/ Discussion Topic: Nicolasa from the Disneyana Fan Club

Admission is free. – https://www.micechat.com/321627-disneyland-update-rise-and-fall-the-rapid-pace-of-change/ Fans of Encanto have another reason to celebrate! Mirabel will be returning to Disney California Adventure for meet and greets at the Paradise Gardens Park. Mirabel was last seen in Frontierland, after originally starting out in DCA at the same location she is now returning to. In addition to meeting Mirabel, guests can also catch the “We Don't Talk About Bruno” projection show on the facade of “it's a small world” every night. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2022/05/encanto-mirabel-meet-and-greet-returning-to-paradise-gardens-park-at-disney-california-adventure-soon/ June is just a busy month for celebrations! Members and allies of the LGBTQIA+ community celebrate pride every June. With all the controversy about the Florida “don't say gay” bill and Disney, the company has decided from now until June 30th, all profits from any pride merchandise will be donated to LGBTQIA+ organizations. Previously, only a small percentage of the profit went to support LGBTQIA+ youth and families. Weeklyteers can visit the link in the show notes to see what organizations are benefiting from this donation. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2022/05/2022-disney-pride-collection-available-at-disneyland-resort-100-of-profits-benefiting-lgbtqia-organizations/ Discussion: Our Disneyland trip before the Disneyana event.

This year, there are THREE games in the Eggstraviganza! Each board is $9.99 plus tax, and can be purchased at select merchandise locations around the resort. One game board is for Disneyland park, one is for Disney California Adventure, and finally one for Downtown Disney. Once guests have found all the eggs, the game boards can be returned for one of six collectable eggs. Redemption locations are at the Plaza Point on Main Street, Elias & Co. on Buena Vista Street, and Disney's Pin Traders in Downtown Disney. The eggstraviganza is available March 31st through April 17th. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/03/eggstravaganza-is-hippity-hoppity-fun-at-the-disneyland-resort/ The Disneyland Resort honored 100,000 years of work from Cast Members with two parties at Disney California Adventure last week. The party featured an open bar and an all-you-can-eat buffet. The cast members that were celebrated were those with over 10 years of service. This included 102 that worked for 40 years at Disneyland, 46 who worked 45 years, and 14 who worked 50 years! Half of the attractions and more than two-dozen Disney, Pixar, and Marvel characters were on hand. It was the largest employee service celebration in Disneyland history. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/03/28/disneyland-honors-100000-years-of-work-with-employee-service-celebration/ A sad bit of news to report this week as one of, if not the most famous cast members at the resort is retiring! Maynard, who Tage has been aware of since the late 90s, is stepping away from the Happiest Place on Earth on April 1st. This isn't an April fools joke though! We were lucky enough to meet him at the Enchanted Tiki Room during our visit in December. He was almost as big of a character as Mickey Mouse himself. Guests were always in for a treat when he was at a location. Disneyland just won't be the same without him, but he deserves some time to himself in retirement! – https://www.micechat.com/317538-disneyland-cast-member-maynard-smith-retires/ Calling all single riders! For the first time since the attraction opened, Web Slingers will offer a single rider line. The new single rider entrance is located between the stand-by entrance and the Lightning Lane entrance. The Disney Food Blog reported that they waited just 17 minutes in the single rider line when the stand-by line was 65 minutes. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/03/24/single-rider-line-now-available-for-web-slingers-a-spider-man-adventure-in-disneyland/ With Fantasmic! retuning in the next couple of months and Pirates of the Caribbean down for an extended refurbishment, it is the perfect time to re-imagine the waterfront of New Orleans Square. Walls went up almost two weeks ago and work is underway to remove some of the elevated sections of the walkway to provide for more queuing options for Pirates, and better crowd flow for Fantasmic! From the view over the construction walls, the planters have gone away, but the trees have remained. – https://www.micechat.com/317860-dateline-disneyland-disney-dining-drama-downtown-disney-demolition/ One place that the trees have not been spared is in the Pirates Queue where the two older trees have been trimmed back for removal soon. The trees are planned to be replaced in this location to keep the much needed shade while waiting in line for Pirates. – https://www.micechat.com/317860-dateline-disneyland-disney-dining-drama-downtown-disney-demolition/ Another experience from a Galaxy Far, Far Away is coming to Tomorrowland at the end of April. Starting on April 29th, Hyperspace Mountain will launch guests into the Star Wars universe. This experience will not be available for long, so be sure to check it out if you are visiting around the end of April into May. For those who have not experienced this version of Space Mountain, it is basically a Star Wars overlay for the popular indoor coaster. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/03/28/hyperspace-mountain-is-coming-back-to-disneyland-for-a-limited-time/ Pins fans get excited! Some new limited edition pins, themed to Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, Easter, and St. Patrick's Day have arrived around the resort. The limited edition Easter pin features Sleeping Beauty Castle and an Easter basket full of eggs with Disneyland at the bottom for $19.99. The Pirates pin has a skeleton pirate sitting on some treasure with 55th Anniversary on the top and Pirates of the Caribbean at the bottom for $17.99. Kermit the Frog is sitting in a pot of gold for the St. Patrick's Day pin for $17.99. Finally, the Star Wars pins feature Lieutenant Bek or Vi Moradi with an orange Resistance logo and the word Resist on the top for $19.99. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2022/03/limited-edition-easter-and-star-wars-pins-limited-release-pirates-of-the-caribbean-and-st-patricks-day-pins-arrive-at-disneyland-resort/ This next story is something that we saw ourselves while visiting the resort last week. The new Disney Vacation Club or DVC tower has started vertical construction! when completed, the new tower will stand 12 stories high and add 350 time share villas to the resort. No date on when this tower is scheduled to be completed. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/03/24/photos-vertical-construction-has-begun-on-the-disneyland-hotel-dvc-tower/ Last week, Magic Key Holders were able to pick up a free souvenir at Disney California Adventure! A Magic Key Holder themed reusable straw was given out to Keyholders on March 21st, 23rd, and 24th. The straw came in a blue carrying case, with a carabiner clip on one end, and unscrews to reveal the straw. The straw itself is blue and split into three pieces, which screw together to make a full length straw. It even came with a straw cleaner. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/03/19/only-select-guests-can-grab-disneylands-new-free-souvenir/ Discussion Topic: The first few days of the wedding at Disneyland – Teresa and Tage

Cozy Cone Bacon Mac-n-Cheese Cones(recipe from www.insidethemagic.net)Specialty items:6 manila foldersTape or staples6 10-inch-long foil sheetsFor pizza cones:Cooking spray of choice1 tbsp flour1 tube of Pillsbury Thin crust pizza dough (or preferred brand)For mac ‘n' cheese:1 lb elbow macaroniSalt, to taste1/4 c butter1/4 c flour1 c milk2 c shredded cheddar cheese1/2 c cream cheesePepper, to taste6 strips bacon, cooked and crumbledWhat You Do:To make cones: Preheat oven to 425ºF to bake conesRoll a manila folder into a tight cone, securing the end with a staple or tape. Wrap cone tightly with foil, covering the paper completely. Wrapping the manila cone will protect it from burning while baking. Lightly grease the outside of the cone with cooking spray and set aside.Roll out pizza dough on a lightly floured surface, to prevent sticking. With the long side facing you, cut 12 1-inch strips with a knife or pizza cutter. Starting at the tip of the cone, wrap one strip around the bottom and continue working your way up, spiraling as you go. Make sure that each row of dough touches the row underneath it. Add a second strip if needed.Repeat step 3 5 times to make 6 cones in all.Place cones on greased baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes, rotating once, until dough is golden brown.Remove cones from the oven, let cool slightly, and then gently twist the foil cone to remove from the dough. Let cool.Make mac ‘n' cheese: Heat water in a stock pot and salt heavily. Once it boils, cook macaroni for 8 to 10 minutes, or until al dente. Drain and set aside. In a large stock pot over medium heat, melt butter, and add flour. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the flour is just toasted. Do not burn. Add milk, whisking vigorously to eliminate clumps. Add cheese, cream cheese, salt, and pepper to taste. Add pasta and stir to combine. Let mac ‘n' cheese sit for 10 minutes.Fill each cone with mac and cheese and garnish with a big scoop of crumbled bacon. Enjoy!

In this episode we put on our thinking hats as we do some Armchair Imagineering for Buena Vista Street!
We are back after a fun trip to the Disneyland Resort. We were scheduled to check out on Saturday which worked out since the parks closed that day. It's strange to think that as of now, all Disney owned stores and properties around the world are either closed or scheduled to close by the end of the week except for Aulani Resort in Hawaii. So I hope you are all fairing well and doing your best to say positive amidst all this uncertainty. I was able to get some recordings while there, and I will be going through them this week to see what I can use in future episodes. As for this week I have picked a nice upbeat audio loop for us to enjoy. This selection can be heard as you enter Disney California Adventure. So turn up the volume and get carried away to the 20s and 30s as we listen to the music of Buena Vista Street. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Happy Thursday, August 8th Everyone! Weather in the parks today will be partly cloudy with a high of 84 degrees. Happy Anniversary Bambi! Today in the year 1942, Disney's 5th animated feature Bambi had its World Premiere in London, England. In Park News, Disneyland's Droid Depot in Star Wars Galaxy's Edge has begun offering 14 day advance reservations. In DCA, Red Car Trolly Station on Buena Vista Street is fully blocked off by construction walls and now under refurbishment. A first look was just revealed of Disney's Live Action Lady & The Tramp. The movie is set to debut on Disney Plus November 12th. Reminder, The Haunted Mansion 50th Anniversary Celebration begins tomorrow in Disneyland.
