This week, we discuss A Reaper at the Gates by Sabaa Tahir! Doris came up with a beautiful analogy that simplifies all the events and characters of the book! We hope you enjoy the metaphor because it is what we would call "a common theme" throughout this episode!
The Mariners have suffered a couple different injuries over the course of the Spring. Jarred Kelenic was originally slated to be out for several weeks, but he's back ahead of schedule. How does he figure in the team's plans for left field in 2021? And what might Taylor Trammell have to say about those plans? Guest host Clive Braithwaite IV talks about this position battle, and also talks about the pitching staff, which is less one arm. Roenis Elias is in need of Tommy John surgery, and his season is finished. Who else are vying for spots in the M's revamped bullpen? Plus, with Shed Long Jr. not having been able to participate in Cactus League games thus far, what does that do for the situation at second base? Dylan Moore will be there to start the season, but what does his future hold? Also, why are so many statements in this episode description written as questions? Who is responsible for that? And what should his punishment be if we ever figure out who it was? Learn more about your ad choices.

Darren Elias is just 32 years old, but he's already established himself as the end boss of the World Poker Tour. The New Jersey resident not only holds the tour record with four titles, but he's also the tour leader in cashes with 35, and final tables with 13. His first WPT title came at the 2014 Borgata Poker Open, where he won $843k. His second title came immediately after that at the WPT Carribbean stop. Elias' third win came in Canada at the 2017 Fallsview Poker Classic, and his latest victory was at Aria in the 2018 Bobby Baldwin Classic. This year, Elias has already won a $25,000 high roller at the Gardens Poker Championship, and he nearly won his fifth WPT title, the LA Poker Classic, ultimately falling just short in third place for just under half a million dollars. In total, Elias has cashed for more than $7.1 million dollars during his live career, along with another $4 million won online. Highlights from this interview include off days in Vegas, living all over with a football coach dad, a love for watersports, winning big in college, the dorm room fan club, the growing pains of live poker, unintentional intimidation, the one time he lost his cool at the table, $200-$400 2-7 games with Billy Baxter, running at expectation, his attitude towards the high rollers, being the top-ranked dad, revisiting a decade-old blog post, a healthy fear of mediocrity, using his internal solver, a scary situation at home, bluffing in six-figure pots, Nick Petrangelo's beer tips, online poker on the highway, the only other job he's ever had, a whiskey shot prop bet, big picture science, and the grinding ability of David Peters.
Lance and Donnie are back with another episode of The Fives. This time, the duo discusses the armed robbery attempt on Darren Elias' home, the Sunday Million being played as a progressive knockout, and more.
Your pain, kept as a secret, can kill you internally. In this episode, Elias Rodriguez and I talk about the upbringing that shaped him, both good and bad, and how he had to come to terms with the reality of his experiences. Elias drops wisdom on the liberation you receive when you allow yourself to be your true self. Sometimes we have limiting beliefs because of what people tell have told us. Other times, it's because we are ashamed of our past. Whatever is holding you down, you'll be able to take from Elias' story key principles that will position you so that the healing process can begin. This week in anguish: - We get out our finest quills and add a few new chapters to the Chronicles of Elias. - Isn't it great to get to quibble again? You can't quibble with a tire fire. We quibble with the Canucks' choice of PP1 quarterback. - We reset the Days Since a Crosscheck Has Ruined the "Safe Working Environment" counter to zero. - Ardella dives deep into some amusingly esoteric rookie stats to put Elias' first nine games into context. - Tristan erroneously suggests that Kellan Lain only played one game with the Canucks (he played nine) and that Brandon Sutter was the first of Benning's overhyped underperformers (it was Sbisa). Those two gaffes may be embarrassing, but they're nothing compared to forgetting that this was supposed to be Episode 41, not 42. Oh, well. This way we got to talk about Welly. Thanks for listening! The Nation is back reviewing Monday Night Raw & Smackdown (52:19) A mundane Monday Night Raw is up for discussion, AJ Styles vs Daniel Bryan comes early! This week in anguish: - Move over, "Little Things" Loui, and make way once again for Elias "Fantastic Things" Pettersson. - Tristan goes full hockey man on John Tortorella, and reminds him that, at least in terms of the NHL, he never even "played the game". - Everyone's least favourite segment: Concussion Watch 2018. We chat about Elias' perfect protocol, and note that Sven didn't get any pushback either. - We distract ourselves from the traditional late-October reality check by letting Brock remind us how much we love him, before we get down to the real issue: What the heck is a "huncho"? - Is Tryamkin in just the right sweet-and-sour spot for a return to Vancouver? How's the Honey Badger doing? Wait, Nigel Dawes is Kazakh? We have KHL questions, clearly. - We re-evaluate our stance on Cody Hodgson, and finally chuck a few coins at a spinning wheel in How Did I Not Know That? Thanks for listening! If you liked the show, tell a friend. You can find us on Twitter as @thisweektristan and @thisweekardella.

Luke 16:13 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.” Numb from grief, the trio finally reach the end of the desert and find some solace in an old stomping ground of Jeremiah's. This week on Trust the Process, we're live and in the booth once again at Save on Radio! We go over the Canucks (I think we mention Elias' broken thumb....there wasn't a lot of Canucks news), we talk NBA/NHL playoffs, we try not to mention 2011 ten minutes into the show (spoiler alert, we kind of didn't?), we yell about Scrubs, and we have the most controversial sponsorship challenge yet! Also, did another member of Soul Decision visit us before the show?? Also I lost the picture of me and Bowman for the show image, so instead you get my dog Sherlock this week.
Life moves fast. If you don't slow down once in a while, you'll totally miss (or just forget) that WWE actually put out any content this week or that the Fastlane PPV is happening. Esai was unfortunately couldn't be on the show this week since he was busy working, and that's a shoot brother brother! The remaining 'boys talk about a fairly empty week of wrestling content but manage to pick out some gems hidden in that rough. They talk about Braun Strowman and Elias' big musical battle, Sami Zayn's breaking point, Tommaso Ciampa's Fires of Mt. Doom level of heel heat without saying a single word, what entirely predictable results we can expect to see at the FastLane PPV, and speculate wildly on what all this means for WrestleMania coming up in less than a month. Dec 1st 2014 This is the only show that can go from making fun of Snookie getting married to my feelings on Ferguson and my conspiracy theory. Yup, I start off the show with the news of Jersey Shore alum, Snookie, getting married and why the fuck that is news?! And my reasoning behind "reality" shows and why they are so popular( mostly with chicks) INTERVIEW TIME: Robb, drummer, from NonPoint sits down with me and we talk about Elias' dreads, the new album 'The Return, the bands love for hip hop and who they like and why, their hit single 'Breaking the Skin' and Robb picks a song every fan should love. Last but not least I give me take on this whole Ferguson debacle and why I like, dislike and find some new news intriguing.
Elias Disney, Walt and Roy Disney's father and a man of spirit true, believed in a dream... the dream of O-Zell, a pure, all-natural carbonated beverage that would satisfy the fiercest thirst and lead us from the wicked temptation of hooch. Beginning in 1912, Elias threw his heart and soul (and no small amount of cabbage) into the O-Zell dream, with misfortune and woe his only reward. Today, Elias' century-old dream is fulfilled at last! The O-Zell Soda Company is humbled to offer you, dearest friend, our scrumptious Vanilla Dream and Blue Ribbon Root Beer, both made with Hawaiian cane sugar and 100% all natural ingredients, for your delectation and delight! And all proceeds go to restoring and preserving Walt Disney's Birthplace home in Chicago, IL! For more information about O-Zell Soda, Click HERE.
Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP!as host Scott McCausey is joined by Recording Artist Julie Elias. Elias' career spanned various facets of the arts, from leading worship to musical theater, to fully embracing her call to become a recording artist. Though she's wholeheartedly committed to help listeners tap into their God-ordained purpose, she didn't arrive at her current calling overnight. In fact, her performance path looked completely different just two years ago when the Nevada native found herself in Hollywood pursuing work in film and television. A Christmas trip to her hometown in 2010 caused Elias to reexamine her career options. "It took a seemingly routine Christmas concert that year for me to realize what I've been called to do. As Elias gears up to make her mark on the modern day music scene with her engaging songwriting style and fresh pop/rock sound—influenced by Amy Grant, Natalie Merchant, Carrie Underwood, and Sheryl Crow, she's committed to spreading faith-affirming messages that are just as uplifting to believers as they are inspiring to seekers.
Marc Eckel was an illustrator for General Motors in the Detroit area in 2000 when he was asked to creative an image on an eight-foot canvas as a backdrop for special music at the Troy Baptist Church in Troy, Michigan. He was given three minutes to complete the task. With very limited time, he chose to bypass using paint brushes, using his bare hands to throw paint on the canvas. In 2002, after moving to northern Indiana, he was asked to think of something to add to the church Easter program at the First Baptist Church of Pierceton. A similar painting was created, which led to the start of Splat Experience, a Christian Performance Art Ministry, now a ministry division of Blue Spaghetti, LLC, a creative arts company. Marc's wife, Julie, is the ministry's business manager. In his new book, On Wings of Diesel, Jamal Elias, professor of Religious Studies, takes readers on journey through the world of Pakistani truck decoration. These ornately adorned vehicles depict all aspects of life and fuel an extensive artisanal industry. To provide a unique understanding of Pakistan's complex society, Elias explores designs and motifs in truck art, the motivations of those involved in the practice and its cultural significance. An accomplished amateur photographer, Elias illustrates his research with vivid photos of these "mechanical dinosaurs adorned in full courtship colors." In this audio slideshow, view Elias' pictures of Pakistani truck art and listen to him discuss his research. Rachel Witte and Nikkolai Davenport contributed to this story.
