JBS Foods, National Beef Packing Co., Tyson Foods, and Cargill combined hold 85% of the market, leading to the closing of thousands of family farms. “Any time something is consolidated … you're going to deal with more issues, like cleanliness, with health issues for animals, because now you're cramming them into smaller spaces. You're just worrying about quantity over quality,” says Brooke Ence, co-founder of From The Farm. Growing up in a family of farmers and ranchers, Ence says, she became troubled as she watched family-owned farms and ranches forced to close their doors, and Americans become sicker eating food that is mass produced. In response to what Ence calls the centralization of America's food production system, Ence, an entrepreneur, social media influencer, and former famed CrossFit athlete, together with A.J. Richards founded From The Farm, a company aiming to connect Americans directly to small farmers and ranchers across America. The goal of From The Farm is to create “a parallel economy, where producers can now have a direct line … to people around the country who are looking for healthy food,” Ence says. “We help a customer shake the hand that feeds them.” From The Farm's website allows Americans to find local farms near them where they can purchase goods directly and allows farmers and ranchers to advertise to consumers. The company is fully operational, but it's still building out its platform and seeking additional farmers to join the platform and for investors to take part in creating that “parallel economy.” Ence sits down with the hosts of the “Problematic Women” podcast to discuss the issues in America's supply chain. A Trump by jim daně naopak snížil,“ vysvětluje Stroukal.Republikánský kandidát a miliardář chce velkou část svého programu zaplatit z cel. Na kompletní dovoz do USA plánuje uvalit cla deset procent a na dovoz z Číny by zavedl speciální 60% daň. Kolik by to mohlo vynést?„V jednom proslovu dokonce naznačil, že cla by mohla být tak silný nástroj, že by jimi dokázal nahradit daně z příjmu. Nevychází, že by z toho dokázal zaplatit své sliby. Ale to platí i pro Harrisovou. Trump by měl v rozpočtu díru výrazně vyšší, ale třeba ještě odhalí, kde by peníze vzal,“ míní Stroukal.Zavedení cel je pro investory do amerických akcií, ale i pro evropské domácnosti hrozba. Projevilo by se totiž i na cenovkách zboží v Česku. „Pokud mám americké akcie, tak bych samozřejmě chtěl, aby byly daně u amerických korporací nižší, na druhou stranu ta Trumpova cla. Ať už pro moji peněženku tady v Čechách, nebo pro člověka, co má americké akcie, to není nic, co bychom úplně chtěli vidět,“ varuje Stroukal.Cla by byla ránaRána do rozpočtů českých domácností by byla dvojnásobná. Americký krok by totiž patrně nezůstal bez odezvy z Číny. „Ta odezva by mohla být stejně silná jako to, co by Trump zavedl. Byl by to zásah do světové ekonomiky. Už se počítá, kolik by každá domácnost mohla na clech ztratit. A to krát dva, pokud by přišla ještě odpověď i z druhé strany,“ předpovídá Stroukal.Cla jsou podle něj nejistota. I proto je Donald Trump pro trhy horším kandidátem než Kamala Harrisová. „Rozkolísanost trhů je něco, co jim škodí víc než ta jistota, i kdyby byla třeba horší, Trump se může odchýlit od všeho, co dneska říká, protože už nemůže být znovu zvolený.“Pro výnos z akcií je historicky slibnější demokratická kandidátka. Za demokratických kandidátů rostly výnosy rychleji než za republikánů. Záleží ovšem i na složení Kongresu, připomíná Stroukal.„Pokud bys chtěla co nejlepší průměrné výnosy, tak napříč všemi periodami je pro malého investora, který má S&P 500, nejlepší mít demokraty v Bílém domě a zároveň rozdělený Kongres. Lucie est designer et mène tout une recherche sur les carreaux et émaux créés à partir de terres d'excavation et déchets de démolition : granite, ardoise, brique, tuile etc... tout ce que l'on peut trouver dans un chantier de démolition. Sa terre, elle la trouve très souvent sur les chantiers de constructions neuves qui excavent beaucoup de terre et dans lesquels se trouvent parfois des puits d'argile. Lucie s'est même rendu compte que l'on pouvait tout à fait faire de l'émail en broyant de vieux carreaux de faïence. Le rendu est certes aléatoire, mais avec un peu d'expérience et de tri des terre et des couleurs, c'est sublime ! Demain donc, nous pourrons sûrement acheter des carreaux de salle de bain fabriqués et émaillés grâce à la terre du parking ! On peut donc parler de céramique de cueillette avec la pratique de Lucie, vous verrez c'est passionnant, tant nous n'en sommes qu'au début de ces explorations alternatives ! Drs. Whitney Ence and Elisabeth Sheridan joined me to talk about the diagnosis of Autism. You might be thinking that this sounds like an impossibly broad topic... and you're right. But in this show, we tried to narrow it down a bit to discuss the various routes in which people can acquire an Autism diagnosis, which of these routes represent best practice, the critical diagnostic features of Autism, severity levels in Autism (and the extent to which these terms are useful), the role of intense interests, specific assessment instruments and techniques, and the importance of working with interdisciplinary teams. We also talk about how the diagnosis has changed over the years, including the retirement of terms such as Pervasive Developmental Disorder and Asperger's Syndrome. During this part of the conversation, we also discussed self-diagnosis of Autism, and how clinics sometimes triage screening for individuals seeking diagnoses. Towards the end of the podcast, we did touch on a few terms and topics that are relatively new to the Autism discourse. Specifically, we discussed the term Neurodiversity, the social model of disability, "Severe Autism" as a separate diagnosis, and Pathological Demand Avoidance. It's important to note that his part of the podcast should not be construed as a deep exploration of these topics, as I really wanted to initially focus on what the current state of the science has to say about the diagnosis of Autism as a condition requiring medically-necessary treatment. I also want to draw your attention to what could be considered a companion podcast about the diagnostic characteristics of Autism. I'm in the middle of listening to a long episode from the Huberman Lab Podcast, in which Dr. Andrew Huberman interviews Dr. Karen Parker from Stanford University about the causes of, and treatments for Autism.
