Regret and guilt can weigh heavily on the heart, but they don't have to define you. Here's how to release these emotions and reclaim your peace:1. Acknowledge and Accept Your FeelingsDon't suppress or ignore regret or guilt—they're natural emotions.Accept that mistakes happen, but they don't diminish your worth.2. Learn from the ExperienceAsk yourself:What led to this situation? What would I do differently now?Turn regret into wisdom by focusing on growth, not self-punishment.3. Practice Self-CompassionTreat yourself as you would a dear friend: with kindness, not criticism.Remind yourself: "I did the best I could with what I knew at the time."4. Take Responsibility (If Needed)If others were hurt, a sincere apology or amends can ease guilt. But avoid endless self-reproach—once you've done your part, let go.5. Focus on the PresentRegret lives in the past; freedom lives in the now. Try mindfulness or meditation to ground yourself in today.6. Reframe Your PerspectiveAsk:How did this experience make me stronger? What positive changes came from it?View mistakes as lessons, not failures.7. Set Boundaries with GuiltIf others try to manipulate you with guilt, remember: their emotions are their responsibility.Protect your peace by saying no when needed.8. Seek SupportTalk to someone you trust—a friend, family member, or therapist.Sharing your burden often lightens it.9. Forgive YourselfHolding onto guilt won't rewrite the past.Repeat: "I am human, and I deserve forgiveness."10. Take Positive ActionChannel your energy into helping others, pursuing goals, or living in alignment with your values.Action replaces stagnation with purpose.11. Release PerfectionismNo one is flawless—mistakes are part of being human.Celebrate progress, not perfection.12. Give It TimeHealing isn't linear. Be patient; the weight of regret will ease as you grow.My Video: How to Let Go of Regret and Guilt? https://youtu.be/6trfF3UQuW4My Audio: https://divinesuccess.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/Podcast4/How-to-Let-Go-of-Regret-and-Guilt.mp3
When it comes to feeding our little ones, it's not always black and white and sometimes the signs that something's not quite right can feel subtle, confusing, or easy to dismiss. That's why today we're speaking with the incredibly insightful Emily Tyler, Speech Pathologist at Boob to Food, about what she calls “feeding white flags”.With over a decade of experience supporting children in their feeding journeys, Emily is here to break down everything parents need to know about infant feeding and the concept of white flags as a way to notice when feeding challenges might benefit from a little extra support, even when it's not an obvious red flag. In this episode we discuss:The difference between red and white flags when it comes to feedingWhat's normal in the early weeks of solids vs. when to seek supportWhy ongoing gagging, food refusal, or distress at mealtimes may be worth investigatingCommon motor and sensory reasons behind behaviours like pocketing foodWhat tongue protrusion might indicateSigns to look for in yourself as the parent and why your stress matters tooHow to trust your gut and advocate for your child (and your own peace of mind)... and so much more!Today's episode was brought to you by Part & Parcel. Episode 274 is about stepping beyond your boundaries and comfort zone. Real growth starts with one step. Today's podcast is about the lesson I learned while helping a neighbor who had hip surgery and needed some support walking her two-year-old, energetic pup, Buddy. I will share three actionable tips to encourage you to take the first step! Stepping Beyond Your Comfort Zone. It's a journey we've all embarked on at some point. Whether you're a seasoned sales professional or an ambitious individual striving for success, Buddy's moment of growth is a powerful metaphor for growth and success. We often find ourselves confined within familiar routines, within a comfort zone that feels secure and predictable. But these boundaries, while providing a sense of security, can also hinder us from seizing opportunities and achieving greater success. Here are three actionable tips to help you take that first step toward breaking your boundaries: 1. Recognize Your Comfort Zone The first step in leaving your comfort zone is recognizing it. It's like turning on a light in a dark room-suddenly, you can see the patterns or routines that feel "safe" but are holding you back from truly excelling. For example, are you sticking to the same sales script because you're scared of trying a different approach? Ask yourself, "What am I avoiding because it feels uncomfortable?" This awareness is the foundation of progress and a powerful tool on your journey to personal growth. It's a moment of enlightenment that empowers you to take control of your growth. 2. Start With Small Risks Stepping outside your comfort zone doesn't mean making a giant leap all at once. Much like Buddy taking cautious steps into unfamiliar territory, you can start with small, manageable risks. If cold calling intimidates you, start by reaching out to just one new prospect each day. If networking events feel overwhelming, aim to introduce yourself to two new people per event. These small steps, when taken consistently, build confidence and momentum. They're like stepping stones, each one bringing you closer to your goals and further from your comfort zone. They reassure you that you're capable of more than you think. For instance, if you're a sales professional, you could start by making a call to a potential client you've been hesitant to approach, or if you're a team member, you could volunteer to lead a small project that's outside your usual responsibilities. 3. Seek Support and Encourage Yourself Sometimes, overcoming fear requires a helping hand. Just as I picked Buddy up to cross into uncharted terrain, you, too, may need support to face unfamiliar challenges. It could be a mentor guiding you through a tough decision, a colleague brainstorming creative solutions, or even reading motivational stories of those who have walked a similar path. Remember, you're not alone in this journey. Most importantly, become your own cheerleader—remind yourself why taking this step matters. Self-encouragement is a powerful tool in your journey of personal growth. It's essential to acknowledge your progress, no matter how small, and to remind yourself of the potential rewards that come from stepping outside your comfort zone. It's a source of self-assurance and confidence that you can rely on. Stepping outside your boundaries doesn't guarantee immediate success, but it brings new experiences, perspectives, and possibilities — progress that staying stagnant cannot achieve. Buddy didn't discover a whole new world overnight, but with every step and nudge, he explored something he had never seen or smelled before. Likewise, your first steps might feel vulnerable, but they are the pathway to growth. Remember, the potential rewards that come from stepping outside your comfort zone are worth the initial discomfort. Take a moment to reflect today. What's one step you can take to move closer to your own goals? Whether it's reaching out to a new client that has been on your list, calling a difficult client, or stepping into a leadership role, remember that every great success begins with one courageous step outside the comfort zone. Today is the perfect time to take yours. If someone can benefit from this, please share it with them. Until Next time, eager to hear about your journey of stepping outside your comfort zone and the growth you've experienced. When you're desperate for support, it's tempting to turn to extended family. But sometimes their “help” just makes things harder. It's a common and painful dynamic for many struggling parents: your teen is having a hard time, and suddenly the grandparents or extended family start weighing in with passive-aggressive comments, outdated advice, or judgmental questions. You're already doing everything you can to support your struggling teen, and now it feels like you have to defend yourself, too.In this episode, Seth and I talk about how to set boundaries with grandparents and extended family members when their “support” actually undermines your parenting. We explore the emotional toll it takes when you start parenting from someone else's perspective, how that impacts your teen or young adult kid, and how to reclaim your authority and clarity in the midst of confusing family dynamics. We also talk about where to turn instead, how to identify the right kind of support, and what resourcing can look like when emotions are high and you feel alone. If you're a struggling parent trying to support your teen while navigating family pressure and judgment, we recorded this episode for you.In this episode on setting boundaries with extended family, we discuss:Why parenting a struggling kid often brings out unsolicited advice from extended family; The generational gap in emotional support and what validation really looks like; How grandparents may form an opinion without understanding the full picture; The impact on your teen when you start parenting based on others' opinions; How to recognize your emotional needs and release shame and guilt;Three types of resourcing when you're feeling overwhelmed; How to protect your teen's story, and decide who's safe to share it with;Practical ways to hold boundaries with grandparents and other family members; And more!Looking for support?

SHOW NOTES: On this show..we're diving into a topic that's as inevitable as that laundry pile you've been avoiding: change. Whether it's the subtle shift of seasons or a complete life overhaul, change is the only constant. But fear not! We're here to explore how embracing these twists and turns can lead to a stronger, more resilient you. So, grab your favorite beverage, get comfy, and let's embark on this journey together. Change comes in many forms—planned or unexpected, minor tweaks or major transformations. It's the process of becoming different, and while it can be daunting, it's also a powerful catalyst for personal growth. By understanding change as a natural part of life, we can better prepare ourselves to navigate it. As I reflect on the changes I've navigated in my life, I can't help but sit back and say—WOW. There's a lot to be proud of. Moments I once thought were impossible, I conquered. Others still leave me wondering, Did I really do that? Some changes weren't as thrilling, but they were necessary, and I made it through—not unscathed, but grateful. Moving forward, I want to be prepared for whatever life has in store. While I may never predict what's ahead, I'm convinced that truly knowing myself and standing firm in my values will serve as the lighthouse guiding me through. On Medium, Mazior Nyanyo suggests a reason to Embracing Change: A Journey Towards Personal Growth and Success On the Lily-Jo Project, I found some additional insight on Embracing Change: Navigating a New Normal with Grace Let's lean into the wise words of Simon Sinek on how to Navigate and Embrace Change found on his YouTube channel. Here's how to shift your mindset and apply change effectively to overcome life's challenges. 1. Reframe Change as an Opportunity Instead of seeing change as something that's happening to you, try seeing it as something that's happening for you. Every shift in life—big or small—has the potential to teach you something new.

Hi Friends! We have had issues with the sound tech in the studio - this is the last episode with this slight issue and it has now been resolved moving forward. I thought it was best to release the episodes anyway, however frustrating. All fixed now! :) This week we are discussing healing from bullying and gaslighting. A topic I am very well versed in, having suffered through bullying in my younger years, in adult relationships and even at work. Wisconsin's agricultural community is banding together as a challenging situation unfolds for poultry producers across the state. The closure of Pure Prairie Poultry, a Minnesota-based processing plant, has left contracted growers in Wisconsin and surrounding states with an unexpected burden: thousands of birds to care for with no financial support. "Unfortunately, we've seen the story unfold with Pure Prairie," said Randy Romanski, Wisconsin Secretary of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. "The bankruptcy has affected farmers in Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota, leaving many in a lurch." With about 476,000 birds spread across 11 flocks in Wisconsin alone—equally divided between meat and breeder birds—producers are grappling with the responsibility of caring for their livestock without the expected income. The urgency of the situation has prompted the Department of Agriculture to step in and assist impacted farmers.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This episode of the Tactical Living Podcast, hosted by Coach Ashlie Walton and Sergeant Clint Walton, dives into the metaphor of carrying emotional "backpacks" and how some of us carry heavier loads than others. As first responders, the emotional weight we carry can sometimes become too much, even when we think we're prepared. We explore five actionable ways to ensure we're not carrying too much emotional weight at once, especially when the unexpected hits and our pack feels too tight to zip. The Backpack Metaphor: We all carry emotional backpacks filled with experiences, responsibilities, and stressors. Some of us are better prepared, while others carry more than they realize. We'll discuss how no matter how organized or prepared we are, the unexpected can add too much weight, making it hard to carry everything. Five Ways to Lighten the Emotional Load: Regularly Unpack and Process Your Emotions: Just like you would clean out a physical backpack, it's important to regularly check in with yourself and unpack what you're carrying emotionally. Taking time to reflect on and process your feelings can help prevent emotional overload. Set Emotional Boundaries (Amazon Affiliate Link): Learn when to say no, both in your personal and professional life. First responders are used to being "on" all the time, but setting boundaries allows you to protect your emotional well-being before you take on too much. Seek Support from Trusted People: You don't have to carry your emotional weight alone. Whether it's friends, family, or a professional, sharing what you're going through helps lighten the load. We'll discuss how building a support system is key for emotional resilience. Practice Mindfulness and Self-Care: Incorporating mindfulness and self-care into your daily routine can help you manage stress before it accumulates. We'll explore simple practices like meditation, journaling, or exercise to keep your emotional load manageable. Know When to Ask for Help: There are times when your emotional backpack will be too heavy to carry on your own, and that's okay. We'll talk about recognizing when it's time to ask for help, whether that's through counseling, peer support, or taking time off. The Unexpected Weighs Us Down: Sometimes, no matter how prepared or organized we are, the unexpected can throw too much weight into our emotional backpacks. We'll share examples of how the unexpected—like personal tragedies, work-related trauma, or life changes—can make the load too heavy. Balancing Professional and Personal Weight: As first responders, it's easy to carry the emotional weight of your job into your personal life. We'll discuss ways to compartmentalize so that work stress doesn't overwhelm you at home and vice versa. Creating a System for Emotional Organization: Just like you would organize a physical backpack, creating a system to manage your emotional weight can help you stay ahead of burnout. We'll offer tips on how to mentally and emotionally organize the different areas of your life so that everything stays in balance. Recognizing When It's Time to Lighten the Load: We'll talk about the warning signs of emotional overload—such as irritability, fatigue, or feeling overwhelmed—and how to recognize when it's time to take action before the weight becomes unbearable. Join us as we provide you with the tools and tips you need to manage the emotional weight you carry. Whether you're dealing with the daily demands of being a first responder or facing unexpected life challenges, this episode is packed with valuable insights to help you lighten your load and carry only what's necessary for your well-being. Start your Nuture Jars Journey here: For more positivity, good news, and uplifting messages, visit our website at Baby Steps to Success: Achieving Your Goals One Step at a Time Setting and achieving goals is an essential part of personal growth and success. However, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the enormity of your ambitions. The key to success often lies in taking small, consistent steps toward your goals. In this blog, we'll explore the power of baby steps and offer practical advice on how to break down your goals into manageable increments. 1. Define Your Goal Clearly: The first step in any journey is knowing your destination. Take the time to define your goal with precision. What do you want to achieve, and why is it important to you? Having a clear and compelling goal gives you the motivation to take action. 2. Break It Down: Once you have a well-defined goal, break it down into smaller, actionable steps. Think of these steps as milestones on your path to success. Breaking a big goal into smaller parts makes it less daunting and more achievable. 3. Prioritize Your Steps: Not all steps are created equal. Identify the most crucial and time-sensitive steps in your goal-setting journey. Focus on completing these first. Prioritization keeps you on track and ensures you make the most of your efforts. 4. Create a Plan: A plan provides structure and guidance for your journey. Outline the specific actions you need to take, set deadlines, and create a timeline. Having a plan in place makes it easier to stay organized and measure your progress. 5. Set Realistic Expectations: While ambition is commendable, it's essential to set realistic expectations. Be honest with yourself about what you can achieve in a given timeframe. Overloading your schedule can lead to burnout and discouragement. 6. Celebrate Small Wins: Don't wait until you reach your ultimate goal to celebrate. Acknowledge and celebrate your achievements, no matter how small they may seem. This positive reinforcement keeps you motivated and focused. 7. Stay Consistent: Consistency is the key to long-term success. Commit to taking daily or weekly actions that move you closer to your goal. Even on days when motivation wanes, stick to your routine to maintain progress. 8. Embrace Adaptability: Life is unpredictable, and setbacks are a part of any journey. When you encounter obstacles or challenges, don't be discouraged. Adaptability and resilience are essential qualities for achieving your goals. 9. Seek Support and Accountability: Share your goals with a friend, family member, or mentor who can provide support and hold you accountable. Discussing your progress with someone else can provide valuable insights and encouragement. 10. Practice Patience: Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither are most goals. Patience is a virtue when working toward your aspirations. Understand that meaningful progress often takes time and staying committed to the process. Taking baby steps toward your goals is a proven method for achieving success. By defining your goals, breaking them down into manageable steps, creating a plan, and maintaining consistency, you can steadily make progress and build momentum. Remember that every step, no matter how small, brings you closer to your ultimate destination. So, start today, and watch as your dreams become attainable reality through the power of incremental progress.

“Don't give up, don't let anybody tell you to give up. If somebody says something negative to you, it's their projecting themselves onto you. One thing I've learned is everything is a projection and nothing is personal. So in other words, if somebody is projecting that you're no good, he's got one finger pointing at you and three fingers pointing back at himself. So don't ever let anybody discourage you, no matter how bad things were, no matter how downtrodden you get, just keep trying. Don't stop.”In a society where law enforcement encounters can sometimes escalate unnecessarily. We all crave change. We want to be better versions of ourselves – wiser, kinder, more successful, healthier. But the journey from where we are to where we want to be is rarely a straight line, and it certainly isn't quick. Real, lasting change isn't some lightning-in-a-bottle magic trick. It's a complex, multifaceted process. As self-aware leaders, it's crucial that we recognize this truth. We need to relinquish our tight-fisted grasp on perfectionism and acknowledge that the real transformation happens on the messy middle ground, the part filled with learning curves, stumbles, and setbacks. Change as a Commitment The commitment to change is a commitment to continuous work. We make a promise to ourselves to never stop learning, growing, and evolving. It means shedding old habits and patterns of behavior that no longer serve us. It's time to say goodbye to those lingering character flaws that keep dragging us down. The desire to "do it right" can be crippling in the face of change. This perfectionist mindset leaves little room for mistakes, for the experimentation that's critical to the change process. We end up paralyzed at the start, afraid of straying from some imaginary ideal. The Gift of Messy: Change as a Learning Opportunity So, we need to flip the script in our minds. Mistakes aren't flaws—they're learning opportunities! If you slip up when trying to ditch an old habit, don't spiral into self-blame. Use it as a chance for reflection: What triggered the slip-up? How did you feel in that moment? Is there something you could do differently next time? Change should be a constant adventure of discovery. This involves uncovering new, healthier ways of interacting with yourself and the world around you. The goal isn't to flawlessly execute some change formula – it's to continually expand your knowledge of yourself and your behaviors. Practical Tips for Embracing Change as a Process Be Patient and Kind to Yourself: You didn't get where you are overnight, and you won't change overnight either. Celebrate the small steps forward, no matter how minor they seem. Focus on Progress, Not Perfection: We've all fallen victim to the all-or-nothing approach. But remember, "done" is always better than "perfect." Every little shift matters. Seek Support and Accountability: Find mentors, coaches, or friends who will help you along the way. Accountability creates momentum. Reflect, Reflect, Reflect: Take time to pause, look back on your journey, and appreciate how far you've come. These moments of introspection can become fuel for future change. It Never Ends, and That's Beautiful The best part? The process of change never truly ends. There is always room for more growth, more self-awareness, and more opportunities to step even further into our best selves. Embrace the journey, own those "messy" moments of learning, and watch yourself transform in ways you never could have imagined. Let me know if you'd like me to expand on this for your podcast, or have any other topics in mind!

The reality is that being a business owner often entails heightened stress levels. The smallest hiccup can throw off your entire day or even jeopardize your long-term plans. Dealing With Toxicity - 3 Ways to Thwart Negativity Addressing toxicity in interpersonal relationships and environments is an essential aspect of promoting mental and emotional well-being. Here are three top techniques to combat such negativity in our personal and social spheres: Boundaries and Self-care: Set Clear Boundaries: Learn to say "no" when necessary and establish clear boundaries with toxic individuals. This can be in the form of limiting time spent with them, avoiding specific topics, or even cutting ties if the situation warrants it. Prioritize Self-care: Ensure that you're dedicating time to activities that rejuvenate and ground you, be it reading, meditation, exercise, hobbies, or seeking therapy. This helps in building resilience against negativity. Communication and Assertiveness: Open Dialogue: If safe and appropriate, address the toxic behavior directly. Sometimes individuals aren't aware of the impact of their actions, and a calm, non-confrontational conversation can lead to understanding and change. Be Assertive, Not Aggressive: Express your feelings and needs clearly without being confrontational. Using "I" statements, such as "I feel hurt when…" instead of "You always…" can help in addressing issues without escalating them. Seek Mediation: If direct communication doesn't resolve issues, consider seeking mediation or counseling, especially if the toxic individual is a family member or close friend. Seek Support and Distancing: Lean on Support Networks: Share your feelings and experiences with trusted friends or family. They can offer emotional support, different perspectives, and coping strategies. Limit Exposure: If someone consistently brings negativity into your life, consider reducing your exposure to them. This can mean different things depending on the situation: fewer meetings, unfollowing on social media, or seeking a change in your environment (like a transfer at work). Professional Help: Therapists or counselors can provide guidance tailored to your specific situation, helping you develop coping mechanisms and strategies to deal with toxic individuals and situations. Ultimately, protecting oneself from toxicity is about prioritizing your mental and emotional well-being. Recognizing toxic behaviors and taking proactive steps can lead to a healthier, more balanced life. MINDSET: Why Are We Scared To Try Things? In this podcast episode, we will explore effective strategies and insights for overcoming fear and insecurities. Inspired by the idea that fear and insecurities are created by us, we will delve into practical steps to regain control over our thoughts, emotions, and beliefs. Join us as we embark on a journey of self-empowerment and learn how to overcome the barriers that hold us back from living our fullest lives. Step 1: Acknowledge and Understand Your Fears and Insecurities Take the time to identify and acknowledge the specific fears and insecurities that you're currently experiencing. Understand that these feelings are normal and that many people face similar challenges. Reflect on the impact these fears and insecurities have on your life and your goals. Step 2: Challenge Your Thoughts and Beliefs Recognize that fear and insecurities are often rooted in negative or limiting beliefs. Begin questioning the validity of these beliefs and challenge them with rational and positive counter-arguments. Replace negative self-talk with affirmations that reinforce your strengths and capabilities. Step 3: Cultivate Self-Awareness Develop a deeper understanding of yourself by practicing mindfulness and self-reflection. Observe your thoughts, emotions, and patterns of behavior without judgment. Recognize the triggers that intensify your fears and insecurities, and learn to respond to them with compassion and self-care. Step 4: Set Realistic Goals and Take Action Break down your goals into smaller, manageable steps. Start with tasks that feel less daunting, gradually building momentum and confidence. Celebrate your progress along the way, no matter how small, and use it as motivation to keep moving forward. Step 5: Seek Support and Guidance Reach out to trusted friends, family members, or professionals who can provide guidance and support. Share your fears and insecurities with them, allowing yourself to be vulnerable. Surround yourself with a positive and uplifting community that encourages personal growth. Step 6: Embrace Failure and Learn from It Understand that failure is a natural part of growth and learning. Embrace failures as valuable lessons and opportunities for personal development. Use setbacks as stepping stones to refine your approach and strengthen your resilience. Step 7: Practice Self-Care and Self-Compassion Prioritize self-care activities that promote emotional and mental well-being. Engage in activities that bring you joy, reduce stress, and foster self-confidence. Treat yourself with kindness and compassion, acknowledging that overcoming fear and insecurities takes time and effort. Conclusion: By implementing these steps, you can reclaim your power over fear and insecurities. Remember that it is a continuous journey, and progress may come gradually. Stay committed, be patient with yourself, and celebrate each milestone along the way. With perseverance and self-belief, you have the potential to transcend your fears and insecurities, unlocking a life of confidence, growth, and fulfillment.
