This episode, first released in 2021, is a reminder that Mental Health Awareness Month requires all of us to tell our stories. We checked back in with Mindy and learned that, even though she is now retired, she continues to advocate for reforms in mental health, policy, and affordable housing. “I love being retired; I can activate for anything I want.” She is married for 55 years and retired for sixteen. Her son continues to receive the help he needs."There is no way we are going to have a better mental health system if we don't tell our stories."Mindy was a state legislator (Minnesota's House of Representatives, 1993-2013) when her son Jim's first psychotic episode manifested itself in a delusion demanding he kill her. Her seat at the table helped her to change the policies that would have barred her from saving his life. She first had to overcome her fear that Jim would be like her beloved grandmother who disappeared into a mental hospital when she was 10. Mindy was determined not to let this happen and is responsible for these reforms:· Founded the nation's first bipartisan state mental health caucus, focusing on raising awareness, funding, and policy reform Marshall Independent+1.· Reformed hospital release procedures and introduced legislation allowing earlier intervention for people in crisis who don't recognize they are ill Access Press.· Advocated for mental health issues in areas such as the criminal justice system, employment, and children's health Her podcast, Schizophrenia: Three Moms in the Trenches, is a frank account by three mothers who share what it is like to live in a family where schizoid-affective disorder affects every family dynamic.Contact Information:mindygreiling@gmail.comGreiling, M. What if all the mistakes you've made, the shame you've carried and the terrible way you have treated yourself, are all part of the journey back to who you truly are. My ex-husband always used to say, "Sometimes we have to go to the wrong place to get to the right place” and he was right. And no, the irony is not lost on me ;) The newest episode of Heal with Kelly is near and dear to my heart because I sit down with my beautiful friend Jamie Lynn Sigler — beloved for her role as Meadow Soprano in HBO's The Soprano's. We dive into her powerful new book out this week called And So It Is... A Memoir of Acceptance and Hope. Jamie is incredibly brave and raw in her writing. She shares with radical honesty and humility and her story rocked me to my core while lighting me up with hope and compassion. Jamie has lived with Multiple Sclerosis (and Lyme) for 25 years. For most of that time, she hid it — from directors, from co-stars, from the world. Before her diagnosis, she hid an eating disorder and a suffocating shame that wasn't even hers. She shares what those years of silence cost her, and how finally telling the truth, the most courageous act one can do, actually set her free. I cried so many times reading Jamie's new book. I saw myself in so much of her story and her journey is truly gripping, heartbreaking, and full of miracles. I could not recommend this book more. In this episode we go deep on the inner voice that intends to protect us but turns out to be far more harmful than any external enemy. We discuss the way shame cripples our sense of worth and what it actually looks like to stop performing and start living. Jamie opens up about her son Beau's near-death experience — and the message he brought back that became her lighthouse. She shares the moment she fell to her knees in a hospital hallway and felt, for the first time, that she was not alone. And she talks about what it means to finally walk into a room and say: this is how I move. This is who I am. This conversation is about surrender and breakthrough, plant medicine and prayer, generational healing and the stories we carry in our bodies. It's a reminder that healing is never about fixing what's broken — it's about remembering who you are beneath everything you've been told to hide. Key Moments You'll Love ✨ :
What if spirituality was never meant to take you away from the dishes, the deadlines, and the hard moments? What if it was meant to meet you right there? This episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life strips away the performance of spiritual life and gets to something far more honest: the inner work that actually changes who you are. Host Yusuf sits down with Misun Oh, educator, spiritual life coach, and founder of Sedona Codes, to explore why decades of meditation, retreats, and spiritual tools can still leave us reacting the same old way. Misun shares the raw moment she yelled at her then 3-year-old son, looked into his eyes, and saw her own frightened inner child looking back. That moment became a commitment that changed everything: not to fix her behavior, but to discover who she really was at the core. About the Guest: Misun Oh is a spiritual life coach and educator with nearly two decades of experience in educational leadership and over 15 years of deep spiritual and emotional healing work. Based in Sedona, Arizona, she is the founder of Sedona Codes, where she guides mothers through The Reparenting Journey and Generational Shift: helping parents break the cycles they grew up with and raise their children from wholeness rather than unhealed pain. She offers a free gift and a pre-session consultation called Miracle Happens When You Talk at her website. Key Takeaways: Spiritual tools are genuinely valuable, but they cannot substitute for the deeper question: who do I actually need to be? Identity-level change is what breaks old patterns at the root, not just in the moment. Our children often become the mirror we have been avoiding. When Misun looked into her son's eyes after yelling at him, she did not see a misbehaving child. She saw the fear she had carried from her own childhood. The pattern was hers, not his. Real transformation begins with a sincere inner commitment, not a polished plan. Misun did not know how she would change. She only knew she refused to pass the wound on. That unscripted commitment set a three-year journey in motion. Surrender is not giving up. At her lowest point, when every strategy had failed, Misun reached complete surrender: the willingness to live with pain rather than fight it. That opened her to a moment of profound clarity about her true identity. You are not what your mind tells you. Much of our suffering comes from believing the stories our minds construct about who we are. Misun's turning point was recognizing that the version of herself she had believed in was simply not the truth. One person who sees your greatness can change your life. Her closing message: find just one person who can hold a clear vision of your potential when you cannot see it yourself. That kind of witness is one of the most powerful healing forces there is. A Note from James:This is why I love doing podcasts—talking to people like Dr. Sheena Howard, author of Why Wakanda Matters. Wakanda is the country where Black Panther is from, and Sheena has written extensively about comics, including work on Black Panther itself. We talk about comics, race, and storytelling. I asked a question I was almost afraid to ask—whether the Black Panther movie was racist against other Black people—and she gave a surprising answer. We also talk about a time she was abducted in Jamaica, along with a lot of other topics.I loved this conversation. Please listen. Episode Description:James sits down with Dr. Sheena Howard—scholar, comic book writer, and Eisner Award winner—for a conversation that moves between pop culture, publishing, and personal survival. They use Black Panther as a lens to examine how stories shape identity, how representation evolves, and why cultural narratives are often filtered through systems that weren't built to support them. Sheena breaks down the tension between nationalism and isolationism in Wakanda, and why audiences interpret the same story in radically different ways. The conversation also goes deeper—into how gatekeeping works in publishing today, how creators can bypass it, and why building your own audience may be the most reliable path forward. And then there's the story she didn't tell for years: being abducted at 19. What happened, why she stayed silent, and what it reveals about psychology, fear, and resilience. This episode is about storytelling—but also about control: who has it, who doesn't, and how to take it back. What You'll Learn:Why “Black superheroes don't sell” is a myth—and how the industry perpetuates it anywayThe real gatekeeping mechanism in publishing today (and why audience ownership matters more than ever)How subtle bias shows up now—not in obvious barriers, but in shifting goalpostsWhat makes a story resonate across audiences (and why Black Panther worked at scale)The psychology of abusive situations—and how awareness and boundaries are built over timeTimestamped Chapters:[03:04] A Note from James[03:53] Favorite Superheroes: From Captain America to Black Panther[04:27] Why Black Panther Connected Culturally[04:43] The $1.2B Question: Why So Late for Black Superheroes?[05:17] Luke Cage, Netflix, and the “Myth” That Black Stories Don't Sell[05:39] Tyler Perry and the “Outlier” Problem[06:23] Pressure on Black-Led Films to Be Perfect[07:00] What Wakanda Represents (Uncolonized Possibility)[07:53] Killmonger: Anger, Oppression, and Relatability[08:23] MLK vs. Malcolm X Parallel in Black Panther[09:00] Identity Formation: African vs. African American Perspectives[09:47] Are Black Superheroes Designed to “Feel Safe”?[10:28] Gentrification, Stereotypes, and Media Influence[11:50] Media Isn't “Just Entertainment”[12:00] Early Representation and Cultural Messaging[12:28] Who Created Black Panther—and Why That Matters[13:07] Rewriting History: What Would She Change?[13:49] Designing a Modern Black Superhero[14:47] Why a Modern Hero Might Be “Invisible”[15:44] Publishing Barriers and Gatekeeping Conversations[16:36] Social Media vs. Traditional Publishing Access[17:26] Building 163K Followers—and Still Not Enough[21:47] The Instagram Post: “I Was Abducted at 19”[22:11] How It Started: Cheap Tour, No Money, Bad Decision[23:05] The Trap: Locked House and Escalation[25:00] Refusal and Survival Strategy[26:02] Car Crash and Escape Attempt[27:00] Walking Away and Getting Home[28:30] Why She Stayed Silent for Years[29:20] Abusive Relationships and Self-Blame[30:26] Leaving Abuse: The Role of Her Son[31:06] Love Bombing and Early Warning Signs[33:02] Recognizing Red Flags in Relationships[35:45] Teaching Kids Boundaries and Self-Worth[37:21] “Is Wakanda Racist?”—The Big Question[38:00] Nationalism vs. Racism Explained[39:00] Isolationism vs. Imperialism[41:00] Why Some Black Superheroes Don't Break Out[43:00] The Loss (and Survival) of Great Storytelling[46:14] How She Got Hired by Marvel (Cold Email + PI)[48:29] Why Pitching Ideas to Marvel Often Fails[50:00] Cold Outreach: Being Seen Before Heard[52:00] Do You Need Social Media to Sell Books? After being crowned Jungle Queen and winning $100,000 for charity, Concetta chose to donate the prize to Full Stop Australia, the organisation that helped her family escape domestic violence when she was growing up. As a child, Concetta lived in a home where violence and fear were constant. Eventually, her mother made a secret call to a domestic violence hotline and began planning what the family would later describe as their escape. Concetta, her mother and her sister left their home, fled across the country and started again under new names. In this conversation with Kate Langbroek, Concetta speaks openly about the childhood she kept secret for years, the moment everything changed for her family, and the complicated journey of rebuilding a life after violence. She also reflects on the strange path that led her to comedy, the inner critic that still lives in her head, and the joy she has found in finally being able to live freely. If this conversation raises anything for you, support is available. Full Stop Australia runs a 24-hour confidential helpline for people affected by sexual, domestic and family violence. Introduced to the practice by her uncle, a Homeopathic GP in Yorkshire, Emily's passion was sparked when she used it successfully to treat her children—and later witnessed its remarkable results in animals. A graduate of University College Dublin in Veterinary Medicine (1990), she has been using homeopathy in her practice for over 20 years. She earned her MFHom from the Integrative School of Medicine in Bristol in 2018, later qualified through the Irish School of Homeopathy to treat animal guardians, and is currently pursuing postgraduate studies at The Dynamis School for homeopaths. Outside of her veterinary work, Emily loves music festivals, hiking, sea swimming, and traveling in her campervan with her dog. She is the proud mother of three adult children and shares her home with her dog and a “cosmic” cat named Betty Boop. Driven by a desperate need for healing and understanding, she set off on a quest that spanned three continents, embracing everything from shamanic journeys and vision quests to living in ashrams, and retreats. Look for supporting stories about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium , Blogspot and Linkedin . But the path she hoped would heal her led instead to deeper suffering. She became entangled in what she now identifies as a "messianic cult" in Southern California, a group with disturbing similarities to the infamous spiritual movements that once flourished in the Golden State. Married to a Cult Leader The Mysterious Death of Her Son and Isabella Young's Journey from California to Hawaii. Available for free on their website and streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other podcast platforms. Cults and California: A Dangerous Combination From "Heaven's Gate" and the "Manson Family" to the "Peoples Temple" and more, Southern California has long been a magnet for unconventional spiritual movements, some with devastating outcomes. These groups often center around a charismatic leader, promise enlightenment, and prey on people during vulnerable moments, much like Isabella's own experience. “We came looking for healing,” Isabella recalls. “Instead, we became trapped.” The cult's leader, Isabella's husband at the time, exercised complete psychological control. She spent eight years in submission, surrendering her identity to the teachings of a man she now claims was directly responsible for her son's "murder", staged as a suicide. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast episode is available for free on their website , Apple Podcasts , Spotify and most major podcast platforms. The Mysterious Death of Her Son Isabella's teenage son died under suspicious circumstances that were quickly labeled a suicide. But to Isabella, the truth is much darker. Married to a Cult Leader The Mysterious Death of Her Son and Isabella Young's Journey from California to Hawaii. “It wasn't suicide,” she insists. “It was murder. And it was the final act that set me free.” The grief shattered her illusions. That moment, the deepest wound of her life, became the catalyst for escape. She fled the cult, fleeing California with nothing but a mother's broken heart and a soul desperate for truth. You can listen to his stories and interview on our website for free in addition to platforms like Apple Podcasts and Spotify, and other major podcast platforms. From Trauma to Transformation in Hawaii Now residing in Hawaii, Isabella has spent the last several years rebuilding her life, and reclaiming her power. She shares her journey and healing modalities through her website, and through her writing, including her most recent book, New Human of New Earth: Medicine for the Freedom and Future of Humanity. In her book, Isabella explores ancient, indigenous wisdom and spiritual tools that she believes hold the key to personal and collective transformation in this era of chaos and awakening. Married to a Cult Leader The Mysterious Death of Her Son and Isabella Young's Journey from California to Hawaii. “The world is changing fast,” she writes. “We need ancient wisdom now more than ever, for our health, our freedom, and our future.” The full podcast episode is streaming now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Her message is not just spiritual, but deeply practical. She speaks to people facing trauma, confusion, and isolation in a rapidly evolving world, offering tools for sovereignty, truth, and divine embodiment. A Voice for the Voiceless Through social media, her podcast appearance on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast available on their website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and others. Isabella is now a voice for those who've been silenced, especially former cult members and survivors of religious trauma. Her advocacy also touches on how governments and societies label spiritual movements, often with vague or politically motivated definitions. In fact, across countries like France, Germany, and Russia the term “cult” or “sect” has been used in ways that stigmatize non-traditional faiths, even when they don't cause harm. But Isabella makes clear: when a movement exerts psychological control, separates families, or enables violence, it is no longer benign. Follow the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Isabella's Message Today As the world continues to shift, Isabella's journey serves as both a warning and a light. From the tragedy of being married to a cult leader to surviving the "murder" death of her son, she has emerged stronger, wiser, and more determined than ever to guide others toward awakening and autonomy. “The Great Awakening is real,” she says. “And each of us must take responsibility for our own healing, our own power, and our own truth.” If her message resonates with you, follow Isabella Young. Her books are available now and her story is being featured in a powerful podcast series streaming for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast webnsite, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other major platforms. In a world where the line between spiritual freedom and manipulation is often blurred, Isabella Young's journey is a rare testimony of courage, clarity, and rising from the ashes. Her story is more than a tale of survival, it's a blueprint for transformation. You can help contribute money to make the Gunrunner Movie . The film that Hollywood won't touch. SUMMARY: The conversation is centered around Lisa Espinoza's experience with child loss, focusing on her son, Chandler. Lisa shares that Chandler was adventurous and lived life fully, participating in various activities and sports. Chandler had a philosophy of life and was deeply affectionate and protective of others, never meeting a stranger. Lisa recounts the tragic accident that led to Chandler's passing and the subsequent 18 days of struggle before his death on January 1, 2019. The grief process for Lisa involved accepting the loss, processing pain, adjusting to life without Chandler, and maintaining a connection with him. She emphasizes the importance of not minimizing grief and allowing oneself to feel all emotions, including anger and sorrow. Lisa discusses honoring Chandler's memory through writing a book and helping others who have experienced similar loss. She finds joy in simple moments and believes in the possibility of joy coexisting with grief. Lisa encourages others to accept help from friends and community and to remain open to moments of joy. The conversation concludes with a focus on finding purpose and meaning after loss and the importance of inviting joy into one's life. PODCAST INTRO: Guest, Lisa Espinoza is an author, coach and a speaker. She stops by the show today to share her personal story of child loss, grief and finding joy even in the midst of great pain. The process of grief is as different as the person it comes upon but none-the-less we can find incredible value because shared story is how grieving hearts find encouragement. Child loss is an indescribable pain that no parent wishes to be part of. For Lisa, the loss of her son Chandler was a life-altering event that reshaped her world in countless ways. Lisa shares a heartfelt conversation of her experiences, providing us with a glimpse into a love that will never end coupled with the grief that accompanies the loss of a child. Her story is one of resilience, hope, and the unwavering belief in the power of connection both with having Christ as your foundation and staying connected to life by way of offering practices of remembrance whether that be spontaneously and deliberately. You'll hear Lisa's reflection on Chandler's adventurous spirit, the kind of person who embraced life with open arms and an open heart. Chandler was one of the four children that Lisa and her husband have (and I do say have because the fact that Chandler is their son will never change)…, a son who brought joy and chaos in equal measure (If you're raising boys you'll know exactly what she's talking about when she shares those examples). You'll definitely see that Chandler lived life to the fullest. The journey of grief is a roller coaster ride at best, yet it is also a testament to the strength and resilience of the human spirit. Lisa's approach to grief involved reclining in the Lord and trusting Him to be with her through the dark valley. With God beside her, she decided to embrace the pain and allowed herself to feel deeply. She talked about other healthy ways of processing emotions and pain whether through counseling, writing, or simply sitting with the emotions; maybe with trusted friend who can bear that type of weight (in a healthy way). By accepting the loss and finding ways to adjust to a world without Chandler, Lisa not only finds encouragement for each day but peace and dare I say it (in this context of grief), she finds joy that honors her son's adventurous spirit. In her quest to find meaning amidst the sorrow, Lisa found purpose in helping others navigate their grief (her coaching services). Her writings, initially shared on a blog, became a source of comfort for many, offering a candid and raw portrayal of her journey. Through her words, Lisa provides a lifeline to those who feel isolated in their pain, reinforcing the knowledge that they are not alone. Because of the response she was receiving from her blog posts, she decided to published her story and it is now available to anyone who would love to be encourage (link below). Her story is a powerful reminder that even in the darkest moments, the possibility of joy and connection can light the way forward. Lisa Espinoza's story is a poignant testament to the enduring power of love and the human capacity to heal and find meaning amidst profound loss. Her journey through grief is a beacon of hope, showing that even in the face of unimaginable pain, you are never alone and you can trust God to know the way through. When Karen De Bonis arrived at her library book reading to find zero attendees, she didn't crumble—she took a photo. That single photo of empty chairs would go viral on Twitter, reaching over a million views and revealing something profound about vulnerability in our success-obsessed world.Behind this viral moment lies a much deeper story. De Bonis spent seven years crafting her memoir "Growth: A Mother, Her Son, and the Brain Tumor They Survived," which chronicles not just her son's medical journey but her own battle with people-pleasing behaviors that delayed crucial medical intervention. As she explains, "It's really not a story about the brain tumor as much as it's a story about my shattered expectations of motherhood."The conversation explores the fascinating collision between medical gaslighting and people-pleasing tendencies that left her son undiagnosed for three years. With remarkable candor, De Bonis reveals her publishing journey—from writing in fits and starts over many years to querying 85 agents without success before finding a home with a university press. Her honest assessment of book marketing realities (that viral million-view post translated to exactly 44 book sales) provides crucial perspective for aspiring authors.Perhaps most compelling is De Bonis' DIY approach to audiobook creation, complete with a closet recording studio lined with egg crate foam and free Audacity software. For writers and readers alike, this conversation offers a masterclass in persistence, authenticity, and the courage to share our imperfect experiences. Have a comment? "You will succeed in all you do, and light will shine on your path." - Job 22:28 You know how when you walk into a cathedral it's so quiet, that the quiet echoes? The silence echoes. That's how it is here right now. It's as quiet as His tomb, as empty as His tomb match. Match My empty. Match My Silence. Feel His Love there. The air you think you're breathing is Love. Love that inhale. Love that exhale. He loves you. You can trust him. Tell him you're scared. Tell him to help you. Pray, 'save me, I need you. This is hard." And then linger in the Silence. Listen for Him in the Silence. Tell Him you're listening for Him in the Silence. I feel for Hm in and AS the Silence, and I find Him every time. Surrender Novena Day 8 - Father Ruotolo Dolindo Close your eyes and let yourself be carried away on the flowing current of my grace; close your eyes and do not think of the present, turning your thoughts away from the future just as you would from temptation. Repose in me, believing in my goodness, and I promise you by my love that if you say “You take care of it” I will take care of it all; I will console you, liberate you and guide you. O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything! (10 times) Mother, I am yours now and forever. Through you and with you I always want to belong completely to Jesus. Amen "In fact, Mary is so silent that the evangelists say little about the Mother of God. She is entirely absorbed by contemplation, adoration, and prayer. She hides herself in Her Son; She exists only in Her Son. She disappears in Her Son (.) The attitude of Mary is that of listening. She is completely turned to the word of the Son. Mary does not speak. She simply wants to submit to God like a trusting child. Her fiat is tot a I and joyful. She intends to receive God's will through Jesus." - Robert Cardinal Sarah, The Power of Silence Isaiah 43 "God's timing might be sooner than you think. Be ready." - Unknown

Caution: This is a Disturbing Story about a Hot Mom on OnlyFans and Her Son
Jamie Lee Silver loved being a mother to her boys, and when her son Ben was diagnosed with schizophrenia, she did all she could to help him cope with the situation. Sadly, Ben completed suicide in 2015, and their relationship turned into a non-physical one. Throughout this challenging journey, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) tapping helped her face her grief and emotional pain. In 2019, she became certified in EFT and is now helping and consulting others with her ‘Silver Lining System’ for healing. Along this path, her son Ben has never been far from her heart, mind, and practice. Using automatic writing, she wrote “Our Forever Ben: Letters from a Loving Mom to Her Son in Spirit, And His Poetic Replies.” She also created “Ben’s Memorial Mile & Community Festival” to honor his love of running, where they have raised money for schizophrenic brain research with the National Alliance of Mental Illness. Jamie joins this episode of Relentlessly Resilient to share her story and encourage others to seek out and use the right emotional and spiritual tools for them. Even though we live in challenging times, we can become ‘Relentlessly Resilient’ as we lean on and learn from one another’s experiences. Hosts Jennie Taylor and Michelle Scharf are no strangers to overcoming adversity; Michelle lost her husband to cancer, while Jennie’s husband, Major Brent Taylor, was killed in the service of our country. Their stories bond them together, and now listeners can join them weekly as they visit with others enduring challenges and who teach us how they are exercising resiliency, finding value in their grief, and purpose in moving forward. Presented by Minky Couture, makers of the most luxurious and soft blankets with a mission to share comfort and love during the special moments of life.
