Süveg Gergely és Dr. Pelles Márton szerepeltek ebben a sör témájú podcast adásban. Az osztrák sörök voltak az adás fő témái, de más ország söreit és fajtáit is érintettük. Az adás témái az osztrák sörök mellett a bajor sörök, belga sörök, cseh sörök. Fajták szerint a lagert, Craft, zwickl, ipa, ale is előkerültek és a sörfőzés otthon, söripari kutatás, sörversenyek is sorra kerültek. Kodály Zoltán gyűjtéséből (1917) a Nagyszalontai bordal s megénekelte: „Hozz bort a magyarnak, pálinkát a tótnak és sört a németnek!” Gergely elsősorban a lelkes rajongó kategóriába sorolja magát. Első igazán mély benyomást a belga sörök tették rá, aztán később Angliában töltött időszak alatt kedvelte meg az ale söröket amiket az ausztriai alap sörökhöz képest sokkal kellemesebbnek talált. Később aztán a "Craft" erősödése itt Bécsben érte utol. Itt szerette meg igazán a sörök sokszínűségét. Főzni 4 éve kezdett el, amit előtte soha nem gondoltam volna. Egy modern-hőskori pesti házi sörfőző ismerőse révén csöppent a témába és egy 4 literes felszereléssel kezdte, innen szépen lassan tartott az út a mostani 15-20 literes rendszerig. Elsősorban az ale típusokat kedveli, mint PA, IPA, Stout. Nyáron pedig sok Sour és Weizen van terítéken. Sörtörténeti és kortárs söripari kutatásokat is végez (gazdasági oldalról), egyetemen több szakdolgozója is foglalkozott kisüzemi főzdék elemzésének megírásával. 2021. őszén indította el a Youetube csatornáját Sördoktor néven azért, hogy egy kicsit a szakmai hang is képviseltesse magát az éterben ha sörökről van szó, ne csak a rajongói. Jelenleg pedig az egyik hazai sörfőző OKJ képzésen óraadó oktató. In this episode, guest host Dr. Julia Herman, an AABP member on staff at National Cattleman's Beef Association, a contractor to the Beef Check-Off, and the chair of the AABP Animal Welfare Committee, is joined by Dr. Ron Gill and Dr. Hans Coetzee to discuss the use of remote drug delivery devices (RDD) or the administration of cattle medications using a dart typically via a firearm.RDDs have been utilized for a long time and historically were used in wildlife as well as to tranquilize animals. Our guests discuss some of the challenges with RDD systems, especially the Beef Quality Assurance challenges. Other challenges include failure of drug delivery, environmental impacts of darts, human safety, misdiagnosis and tissue damage.  Veterinarians should consult clients on the appropriate and inappropriate use of RDDs and they should not be utilized to decrease treatment time or for convenience. It's ok not to have a grand plan from the beginning. As Nick says, company founding stories tend to get romanticized in retrospect. (Guilty as charged here at Acquired!) As a founder it can feel like there's so much pressure on you to "have it all figured out" from day one. But the reality of most great company beginnings is nothing so grand: often it's just founders who have an inkling about something interesting and the combination of courage + right life circumstances to jump into the unknown and learn as they go. Things change quickly in new or evolving markets, and if you're too wedded to a master plan you're likely to miss more opportunities than you seize. 2. Don't let early (or even just recent) success blind you if potential headwinds are on the horizon. Rec Room experienced "explosive" growth during the 2017 holiday season with the launch of Playstation VR. However this was a classic "wiggle of false hope" (in Paul Graham parlance), not real product-market fit. It would have been easy to ignore the very real warning signs (e.g., that VR adoption as a whole was slowing) and plow full steam ahead. Instead the team realized they probably needed to step back from the temporary momentum and diversify out of solely focusing on VR to find new avenues for growth. 3. Build your company into a robust organism. Startups constantly face existential risks: what if the market shifts? What if we make wrong strategic decisions? How can you architect your business as a system so that "you" (either you personally or the company management as a whole) doesn't need to always be right in order to succeed? For Rec Room this has meant investing deeply into UGC and letting creators lead growth. Any room or piece of content might be no more likely to breakout than another — but in aggregate across now millions of creators, Rec Room is almost guaranteed a constant stream of "hits". 4. UGC is a flywheel that's difficult to start, but creates incredible business dynamics once spinning. Like any flywheel, UGC requires a ton of effort to get moving in the beginning. (E.g., why should people bother to create? What tools do they need? How do you get the incentives right?) But once momentum takes over, it can become an incredible virtuous cycle where users' creativity inspires more users both to consume and create themselves, which compounds faster and faster over time. Furthermore, once a UGC flywheel is spinning, the underlying platform's unit economics get pretty fast: costs to produce content go down (or to zero), cost to acquire users go down (or to zero), and retention, engagement and monetization all spike up. In previous eras Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and Twitch rode to this dynamic to incredible success. Today Roblox, Rec Room, TikTok and others are following the same playbook. 5. In this episode we are joined by Dr. Virginia Fajt, a clinical pharmacologist from Texas A&M University. Dr. Fajt served as the chair of the VET09 subcommittee of the Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) which created this resource. VET09 assists veterinarians with instituting one of the core principals of antimicrobial stewardship which is judicious use of antimicrobials. We review some basic pharmacologic terms that are defined in the document as well as factors that might influence the veterinarians decision process in selecting an antimicrobial. Dr. Fajt discusses some of the nuances of antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) and interpretation. Veterinarians should consider regulatory factors as well as if the pathogen has a breakpoint established for that body system. For example, there are no breakpoints for enteric pathogens in cattle, therefore AST results for enteric pathogens should be interpreted with caution. We also discuss interpretation of AST results for mastitis pathogens and the limitation of applying sensitivity testing to pathogens in the udder. Finally, Dr. Fajt discusses the fact that there are no breakpoints for antimicrobials administered in the feed or water and therefore applying results to those routes of administration might be erroneous. Since becoming director of the Czech National Gallery three years ago this month, Jiří Fajt has secured exhibitions by major international artists and helped make its numerous buildings in the capital more accessible to the public. Our tour of “his Prague” begins at the Convent of St. Agnes of Bohemia on the edge of the Old Town. It houses the National Gallery’s impressive medieval collection and was headed by the Prague-born Fajt himself in the late 1990s.
